Yeah, even if we won't be using "levels" in this, I say the initial partners should be demons found around the 1-20 range. Not the strongest selection but gonna start somewhere. Cu Sith, Spring-Heeled Jack, and Angel/Archangel sounds great!

Sure, I'd be down for that. I find it strange how some obvious gods and folklore figures have never appeared in the games. Like we have Nidhogg, Fenrir, and Hraesvelgr, but no Jormundgandr (outside of Demikids) So yeah, original demon designs are A-OK Nice! Always happy to have a fan interested...

Any of the SMT games, yeah. I guess my only rule would be "No Personas." Like you could have Sukuna-Hikona as he appears in IV and V, but not how he appears in Persona 4. If that makes sense. I guess a weirdly specific rule to keep things PG-13, would also be "No Mara." If you know you know.
