Remaining hidden near the excavating zombies, Glade takes the scene in, mentally recording every detail as he would a new tale for retelling to his villagers. He counts the zombies, as best he can when they repeatedly disappear underground. He takes note of the two - presumably - Exalts, trying...
Raay, new Eonivar character.
Meantime, Glade's pondering zombies. I'll get to a post soon - had a bunch of life to deal with (good stuff! Daughter turned 16, had some celebrations to do)
"Either way, we should hurry. They are digging as we watch. Shall I run ahead, quietly, scout the tunnel?" Glade asks Del and Grey Stone, who seem to be de facto leading this section of the mission.
Glade stands stoically behind Delilah's right shoulder, arms folded, as Taru appears. No stranger to treating with the spirits of his native forest, it is easy for him to see that this spirit is significantly more important than any he has met before; and somehow more... he struggles mentally...
"I favour dawn. The light will be striking this high up; a breathtaking location to seek a spirit. Even if they know of it, the people here will not have been able to offer proper, Essence-laden prayers. I predict we will be noticed quickly once we begin."
"A dawn prayer will give us cover of...
Glade nods approval. "That would be auspicious. Many Essence flows are strongest at high points."
Looking at my stats and remembering who I am... I'd also absolutely like to see if I can remember or reason anything about this Spirit of a First Age artifact in the far East, using my Lore...
OOC: Can I judge why there aren't so many small animals? Is it just that the mountain is in the air, so there's no landbridge to the ground? Surely some would have been picked up with the mountain... any signs of, say, large predators that would be suppressing the population?
"So, we are to...
The brief Essence game I was involved in didn't really sell me on it, tbh. It felt a little underbaked, perhaps. But I think it may still have been a WIP?
As the mountain approaches, Glade cannot help by stare at in in awe. This far east, the jungle below is thicker and lusher than any even he has seen; and the juxtaposition between that and the majestic mountain fortress is truly mind-bending.
Del's words shake him from his reverie. Leaning...
Ok, two Thrown charms purchased, allowing crippling attacks and silencing attacks. I have 7 normal and 2 Solar XP left, which I probably bank... while I could spend 8 on Strength -> 3, I don't think it's necessary at this time (Strength only benefits Withering attacks in combat; ideally I just...
Gotta say, that is the way I'm leaning... If I do so, then there are a few Stealth charms to let me re-enter concealment and roll Join Battle again mid-combat.
...I've spent 12 Solar to get my Thrown up to 5; that's a done deal. With 23 normal XP, I could buy two charms, which is tempting - options would be:
* Thrown charms to Cripple the target; and either Silence them (including their death) for a while, or conceal the angle the attack came from, or...
