Fandom Pokémon: the River's Crown Medieval Festival [OOC]

Merciless Medic Merciless Medic you are scaring me with the sudden likes. Constantly stalking the thread, shakes head. (Humor, Idm it :))

Yeah makes sense xD maybe when she's out of uniform after her shift is over

halazia halazia help, I'm doing Mizuki-which is a total coincidence of our FCs!

oooh ! i love that, all the proseka faceclaims ~
i actually almost went with mizuki before deciding on saki LOL
saki is like perfect tho, I see her everywhere in storages, uwahhhh

If anyone intends to interact with Olympia, let me know 😌 Otherwise, I'll probably post for her again in X amount of irl days, because I don't necessarily want her to sit and watch the play for the whole day 😂

Second team comp I think

I saw someone had an Aurorus and since I planned on adding one to Esther's team that's def an encounter I want to have to prep her for that, as for the rest of y'all? Dust off those strategies, Cres talks a big game about battles but she's a arm chair battler, all bark and no bite. Me on the other hand, I'm coming for all those OCs!

Count down to August 6th...

I am totally open to having Vasya possibly interact with Azumi and/or Monty. I'd make a lot of sense for them to run into eachother since he's taking Seelie with him to get medieval cheesecake. But I'm not sure how he'd vibe with the plot they have going on, considering it's a continuation of the organized crime plot from the main RP, and mans is just here for a vacation haha.

I could also have him run into Olympia later as well, since going for the plays isn't an "if" but a "when" for him.

But in general, I'm down to interact with anybody interested!

I've come to the conclusion that Vasya would also probably choose to ally with the defending side. Based on what I've read on the French-Breton War, he wouldn't have an overwhelming bias towards either side on an ideological front. (He never has cared much for noble and succession based drama) But he did have the misfortune of serving a Galar-installed master who imposed her cultural values on her servants, so he'd empathize a lot with the perspective of a Kalosian character at risk of the same fate. Though, he's probably going to very adamant about not swearing fealty to whoever is appointed royal haha.

Azumi and Monty right now are just hanging out, nothing major related to the plot.

Gotcha, I was also thinking in the long term. Lore-wise, Vasya would 100% get involved with the smuggling plot if he found out about it. But as his creator, I know I've put him through enough and he needs to take his goddamn vacation haha. For now, I'll start up a post with a few threads for you two to grab onto, while also setting up for the later encounter with Olympia.

I think Deaucalion is probably trying to look for old books about warfare and maybe torture, for his Clodsire, because that's what Clodsire enjoys reading.

I battle from my armchair because otherwise I will be charged for warcrimes.

You better hope I don't stop barking because when I stop that's when I will eat everyone.

I can't believe I'm in an RP where someone else's pokemon can read, but my trainer can't.

While I am of the school of thought that pokemon are more like fae/yokai than normal animals, I tend to assume most can't read human languages or else the pokemon world would be a very different place.

Well, it's more of a gag that Clodsire likes to read prestigious literature on warfare. But I don't recall any rules or discussions that explicitly govern whether Pokemon are allowed to read or not.

I recall having this conversation with Kyuu/Cloudy. He did say that some Pokemon who are more intelligent (like Gardevoir and the others) can learn how to read, but would be weaker as a Pokemon and thus won't be as strong, like their growth is stunted because they focused on learning how to read the human language. I'll just CloudySkyLoftyMoon CloudySkyLoftyMoon for this cuz I don't remember if I'm remembering it right. But from what I recall, some Pokemon can learn how to read, it just takes a long while.

Or maybe that was learning how to talk, I can't remember.

This must be how he learned to perfect the art of stall. I assume making pokemon capable of reading in RP isn't a big deal, it's just very uncommon unless the pokemon is like an Alakazam or really motivated to do it ala anime Meowth learning to speak.

He's just a special boy. He can read.

As for battling, the Pincurchin that only knows one move will handle that.

But overall it's absolutely a joke that will probably have no bearings on the plot because Clodsire's trainer is kind of oblivious to what he's reading.

As a big fan of the idea of the pokemon world has a dichotomy where humans gain their strength from technology and pokemon theirs from magic/the natural world, that could be really interesting. This sounds very much like a case of the fae side of pokemon being averse to manmade constructs.. which now include language. But if that's not the intended direction... man is it a wild take that learning to read would stunt a pokemon's power.
