Fandom Pokémon: the River's Crown Medieval Festival [Character Sheets]

The White Lily
Aurelio Lucentis
★★★★★★
Male / Twenty / Actor
Espeon | Steelix | Gothitelle
Flapple | Garchomp | Haxorus
Appearance & Persona
Aurelio looks like he stepped out of a fancy storybook. He has long, light blonde hair that flows past his shoulders and soft features that make him look calm and mysterious at the same time. His eyes are a like emerald aventurine, kind of like melted sunlight on frozen grass, and they always seem like they're thinking about something deep. He wears elegant clothes, mostly white with gold and red details.

Aurelio is the kind of person who floats between being social and keeping to himself. Some days, he can talk to people like it’s nothing, while other times he’d rather just train his team in silence. He mostly gets along with Dragon-types, even if they’re known to be rough or prideful. To him, they’re just strong Pokémon who need a trainer that can match their energy. When something feels off or catches his attention, you’ll know right away just by looking at his face—he’s not all that great at hiding it, but that doesn't mean he can't!

He doesn’t go around trying to be everyone’s friend, but he’s not mean either. He’ll help out when it feels right, especially if someone looks like they actually need it. Still, he’ll steer clear of people he finds annoying or fake, no matter the situation. Aurelio has a sweet side too, especially when it comes to desserts. He’s got a real love for anything sugary, especially macaroons and Alcremie’s cream. It’s something people don’t expect from him, but it makes him light up in a way that’s hard to miss.

As someone who acts on stage, Aurelio is used to wearing different faces, even if he doesn’t love pretending. He sees acting more like telling a story, not tricking someone. He’s not a fan of lying in real life, but he understands the difference when it comes to performance. Around people, he usually comes off as really put-together, like everything about him is neat and thought out. He likes lilies the most, especially white ones—they’re simple but meaningful to him, and maybe that’s how he sees himself too: not loud or flashy, but still standing out in his own way.
Background
Parents as florists, Aurelio was grown around lush bushes and valleys. His first and last memory that is now buried deep in his heart from childhood was when his mother put a white lily in his hair. Everything else mostly faded to black, as he couldn't just quite remember what happened after. Years next he had found a flying poster for a play going abut in his school. Signing up was no big deal, but the role in store for him wasn't exactly the same. He had phobias, so why didn't he at least check what the club was about?

Aurelio had always had a dissatisfaction with speaking in front of others. The thought blew over his mind when he saw something he wanted to play as, and even if a side character, he was forced to be with others and sometimes even alone on a stage. That fear soon withered away in his following year when he was a main lead. He did great, and with all the cheers he had been rewarded with, he wasn't so paranoid. Wasn't afraid to do things he couldn't do before.

When news came to his family, they were proud, and then an offer came for his future. Acting? Never...he'd never get there. People should never say never, but Aurelio repeated that word so many times he felt like he was going to be driven down the right path. When he spent a day to relax in his father's garden, he was put in a face-to-face conversation that could be considered 'moving'. Encouragement was all he needed all along. One shed tear, and he was wrapped up in cameras, lights...ACTION!

Name: Olympia Charette

Gender: Female

Age: 14

Trainer Class (Battler, Coordinator, etc.): Battler

Physical Appearance (Face claims, art, or written description): A dark-haired girl with oriental features, which are contrasted by her blue eyes. She stands a little shorter than the average 14-year-old (though not by much) at 5’2’’ and is typically seen with her hair done up in pigtails. Despite her relatively small 90lbs stature, Olympia is stronger than she looks – her 6-pack abs really only visible when she takes off her shirt and her muscles only apparent when she flexes.

Personality: Confident, competitive, stubborn, prideful, and unconventional are some of the best words to describe Olympia Charette. She does whatever she wants. Whether it’s leaving home at the age of 10 to start her pokemon journey or joining a pokemon ninja school on a whim, she doesn’t really let anything stop when she gets an idea her head. In that sense, the words impulsive, determined, and hardworking fit her personality as well. She maintained relatively good grades while she'd still been in school.

As a pokemon battler, Olympia values strength, both in her pokemon and in herself. While her pokemon trains, so does she. If she tells her pokemon to run, she’s running with them. Sparring with her pokemon, while she shows them some martial arts technique, isn’t out of character for Olympia either, though she does have safety measures in place for when accidents happen...she also has a Delibird that carries copious amounts of bandaids in its sack.

When interacting with others, Olympia is typically straight-forward, even blunt at times. She dislikes cowardly people. She admires bravery and passion in others. She also likes winning and anyone who beats her at anything is her rival – whether they agree to it or not.

Backstory/Short Synopsis:

Hailing from the small town of Pallet in the Kanto region, the only daughter of Top Coordinator Cheri Charette and her salaryman husband, Olympia had always been a rambunctious, tomboy even as a kid. While other girls her age were playing with dolls, Olympia was rolling in the mud and challenging boys to sporting competitions/fights. She’d never taken insults lying down and gender mattered little to her at that age – a fact that remains true to Olympia to this day. In fact, it was one of those fights that turned her into the leader of Pallet Town's little kiddie gang...of sorts. More accurate to call them a small group of troublemaking kids. They'd play pranks on adults. Skip school (sometimes). And defend their playground "turf" from "challengers". It was there that Olympia's love for pokemon battling began. While none of kids had yet been old enough to own their own pokemon, nothing stopped them from "borrowing" the school's pokemon to do play battles, especially if they claimed to be "studying". Olympia found it incredibly fun. So fun in fact, that when she hit the age of 10, and got her first pokemon (a squirtle) from Professor Oak, she quit school and started on her pokemon journey to see the world, learn more about pokemon, and participate in League Tournaments with the goal of testing her mettle against every Champion of every region. Competition calls to her, after all, and Olympia never turns down a challenge.

Since then, Olympia has traversed the plains of Kanto and scaled the mountains of Johto, participating in both the Indigo Plateau and the Silver Conference. However, after her team lost to Johto's Champion in a grueling yet close match, Olympia decided to take a short break from her journey to re-train and re-assess her battling methods before challenging the Johto Champion again. Her mother suggested Olympia join her in a vacation in the Kalos region, to visit her father (Olympia's grandfather), who she hadn't seen in a long time. Olympia agreed. Thus the plane tickets were bought to Cyllage City, where her grandfather currently resides.

As for the River's Crown Medieval Festival...why the hell not? Olympia's plan is to participate in every single event and win every single event.

Bio: Olympia's second pokemon, caught as a Tangela in Viridian forest, Tangrowth is the only Pokemon Olympia gave a nickname to because she didn't know what to call it when it evolved. Her pokedex wouldn't tell her as it wasn't updated to accomodate Sinnoh pokmeon. Therefore she took to calling it 'Big Tangela' until a trip to the Pokemon Center allowed Nurse Joy to clarify.

Miscellaneous:
  • Having visited both the Pokemon Ninja Schools in the Kanto and Johto region, Olympia spent some time training there with her pokemon and is, technically, a licensed ninja (in training). She knows some martial arts, some ninjutsu, and is fairly acrobatic.
  • She is abysmal with directions and finds herself getting lost quite frequently while journeying, despite all travelling she's done.
  • She tends to punch things when she's stressed.
  • Olympia doesn't believe in nicknaming her pokemon. She just calls it what it is.
  • Though she only has 6 pokemon with her at the moment, she actually caught 20 throughout her journey so far (10 from each region)
  • Her favorite color is black.
  • Her hobbies include exercising/working out, pokemon battling, listening to music, martial arts, and travelling.
  • She likes spicy food.

A note for you, we try to keep the elite four and champions of each region as defacto power ceilings for trainers in the RP. This is more applicable to the main sandbox RP than the medieval festival, but I'd prefer to keep that same power ceiling for continuity's sake. Everything else looks good, but I'd ask you to bear with me and adjust that part of her backstory for her to not be a champion level trainer at 14 🙏

Can I say she lost to an Elite 4 member then? (She has to lose to someone to take a break and vacation to Kalos after all 😏)

Or is her age more of a factor? I imagine 4 years is enough to travel 2 regions collecting 8 badges, but PokeGeography isn't exactly a strong point of mine 😂 Don't know how big each of the regions are

I misread it and I thought the husband was married to her I'm sorry T-T

It's more so the general level of power. The Champions are amongst the strongest trainers in the world and it's very difficult to engage in any meaningful battle or competition when one side of the equation is one of the top 50 strongest trainers alive.

The main Sandbox follows the rule of 'Ocs aren't allowed to start as anywhere above Gym Leader tier' and any higher than that needs to be earned in RP.

Edit:

So yes, losing to the Elite Four would be acceptable since Gym Leaders have the right to challenge the Elite Four, and it's reasonable a character of around Gym-Leader strength would've made it to the Elite 4 during a Champion League Run.

Second Edit:

It's also about leaving characters with ample room to grow. When a character starts near the Champion level of power there just isn't any more room for growth, they're already at the peak of power a trainer could hope to reach. The only thing left for them to do is...stomp all over anyone who isn't Champion tier?

Hmmmmm, then should I just remove the Indigo Plateau/Silver Conference parts? Bio-wise, I intended for her to be a participant, not necessarily winning any of them, but just something to do as a trainer for 4 years 🤷 No mention of power whatsoever (since I don't really know how to scale it)

I can have her stuck in the mountains for 4 years or trying beat a gym for that long I guess 😂

You can also not make big changes since you're only using her for the event and if you happen to want to stick around into the main sandbox rp (I hope you do!) then we can work on her background :3 For now, change champion to Elite Four and go wild on the event xD have fun and if you want to make any changes or have any doubts, let us know. The focus is the Medieval Festival, anything beyond that we can check it out when we get there.

You don't need to at all, you can even have won those Conferences.

We follow how the anime uses the Conferences, so while winning the League Conference is certainly an accolade there are at least 9 Conference winners every year and so there are tens, if not hundreds of trainers who are roughly on that level. Winning the League Conference means you get a chance to enter the Champion League where you can then challenge the Region's Elite 4 & Champion.

To use an example, while Alain won the Kalos League, Diantha is still the Champion (last we saw in Journeys), which means that if Alain challenged the Champion League then he failed. We also see in Journeys that while Alain was a Conference Champion, he fared...poorly against a reigning Champion (on two separate occasions as he battled both Leon & Steven).

I see now that my problem is not actually understanding how the League works 😂

I'll decide how to make the edits when I get back home. Having Olympia randomly encountering a Champion at a coffee shop or something, challenging them, and losing to them works for my purposes as well 😏 We'll see.

Anyway, thanks for all the help ❤️

If I understand what you're saying then you mean she lost to the person who won the (Johto) Silver Conference, that's to say she participated in the Silver Conference and was second place/runner-up?

If that's what you mean then no edits necessary. It was just a misunderstand. By Johto Champion, we assumed you meant Lance.

Pretty much. I wanted her to participate in the leagues, not necessarily winning (or specifying how she placed cause deciding lvls stresses me out 🫠), but from what I'm hearing she has to be a winner/runner up to challenge a Champion?

I kinda forgot that Lance is Champion of both Kanto and Johto so that's something to consider as well 😅

Right. To Challenge the Regional Champion (Lance, Cynthia, Steven, Iris, etc.), you need to win the Conference (be the Conference Champion) and then fight your way through the Champion League & Elite Four.

If all you wanted to do was challenge a Regional Champion then yes, you could run into them in a Coffee shop and challenge them to battle. Alternately, you could challenge the World Coronation Series. Some Champions (Leon) are frequently in the Masters 8.

The last method I could think of would be... Galar.

Galar doesn't have a traditional Conference, they instead have a Tournament invitational between the Gym Leaders and Champion. So there's no Champion League you need to get through in Galar, just earn 8 badges and be the trainer to get invited to the Invitational.

Animated but subdued. Alice is one who wears her heart on her sleeve and shows her emotions without restraint both in demeanor and expression. She is the curious sort as one would expect of a researcher, prone to throwing caution to the wind if it allows her the opportunity to take 'a closer look'. Meticulous with strong pattern recognition, she isn't one to miss the finer details ─ but this sometimes leads her to miss the big picture as a result. She can be hardheaded and stubborn, difficult to dissuade when she's put her mind to something. She tends to put herself last, something she's been working on in more recent years. There are the roots of confidence in her being that comes of knowing ones self ─ and she doesn't take kindly to any threats to this newfound sense of 'ego' either. She's becoming comfortable in her place in the world ... enough that the idea of defying years-long self-imposed limitations is less of a pipe dream and more tangible.

    Personality:
Rough around the edges, Zelda is sharp tongued and quick on her feet. She speaks her mind without much thought on what comes out of her mouth. She's loyal and protective of her friends and family, and doesn't care what others think of her. If she doesn't like you, she'll make it known.

She's spent a good chunk of her life as the voice of reason and a role model for her sisters, but the older she got the more she's felt the need to lash out and not care how others perceived her, finding an outlet through battling and music, even if she personally doesn't see herself as good at either.

    Backstory:
Born in Kanto’s Pewter City to a Ranger and a retired Coordinator, then raised in Unova's Castelia City since she was 4; Zelda is the oldest child, and is the one who mainly watched her sisters Pandora and Nina growing up. She met Indigo due to living in the same apartment complex, and sometimes her and her sisters would play with them and get dragged into their adventures until Zelda was 9, Pandora 6, and Nina 4 causing the Evergreen trio to find themselves now living in Paldea, their Mother deciding to enroll them into the school there once they were all a little older, much to Zelda's agitation at being seperated from one of her closest friends.

She tried her hand at the Paldean gym challenge, but had eventually stopped to focus on classes and helping her own sisters with school and training, even joining a small band that called themselves Vocal Terror.

She hadn't expected to run into Indigo while the band was taking a break, but after catching up and rekindling their friendship the two decided to travel for a while.

    Medieval Fit:
    023184d43d1f11b23c09d01782d6da7b.jpg

    Personality:
Rough around the edges, Zelda is sharp tongued and quick on her feet. She speaks her mind without much thought on what comes out of her mouth. She's loyal and protective of her friends and family, and doesn't care what others think of her. If she doesn't like you, she'll make it known.

She's spent a good chunk of her life as the voice of reason and a role model for her sisters, but the older she got the more she's felt the need to lash out and not care how others perceived her, finding an outlet through battling and music, even if she personally doesn't see herself as good at either.

    Backstory:
Born in Kanto’s Pewter City to a Ranger and a retaired Coordinator, then raised in Unova's Castelia City since she was 4; Zelda is the oldest child, and is the one who mainly watched her sisters Pandora and Nina growing up.

Nearly three weeks later, my work is complete...

Name: Hugo Alvarez
Stage Name: Maximilian the Bold
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Trainer Class: Battler

Appearance:
For the festival Hugo has swapped out his usual visor for a black tri-corner hat and paired it with long khaki pants, a simple loose cream-colored shirt and dark red coat. He has calm blue eyes, sun-tanned skin and a fairly athletic build. His hair is brown and cut fairly short, mostly concealed by his hat during the festival.

Personality:
Hugo is a fairly calm person, and some might even think him passive. Overall he is polite and even friendly, but doesn’t like being forced into conversation. He loves getting into sync with people and Pokemon through battle, and sometimes finds it easier to understand people by seeing how they react under pressure than by verbal explanations. Despite being fairly introverted, he likes spending time with people once he feels close to them, and he delights in sharing new experiences with others.

Backstory:
Born and raised in the Paldea region, Hugo attended the Academy in Mezagoza for most of his life. His parents encouraged him to study up and eventually help to run the family’s grocery store and deli, and he did help out around the shop at times when he wasn’t at school. He went on a couple of Treasure Hunts with Nix as he got older, but he didn’t really come to understand the enjoyment of battles until he was fifteen. Then he began to realize the union of emotions, the combination of hearts and minds as both sides gave it their all. New perspective brought new delight to a previously less-appreciated aspect of being a trainer, and he began to take training and battling much more seriously. He began to engage in more friendly duels with peers and even signed up for some tournaments. At sixteen, he took the Terastal Course and obtained his own Tera Orb after harrowing battles against Kofu and Tulip. He also began to tackle Paldea’s gym circuit in hopes of eventually making it to the big leagues, with his highest ambition to reach the level of Champion-ranked trainer. With some gym badges and some more experience under his belt, he began traveling Paldea to train his team and gain some new team members.
Hugo has done fairly extensive travel in the Paldea region, visiting and taking pictures at each of the Ten Sights of Paldea. These photos serve as a sort of time capsule for his journey, with each new team member and evolution commemorated in the pictures. He’s also begun to travel to other regions in the last few months. A recent trip to the Galar region for some training has been followed by a more scenic route back to Paldea, traveling south through Galar and Kalos with a few detours on the way. One such detour is the Medieval Festival, which Hugo expects to be a fun adventure with opportunities for thrilling battles and new experiences.

To Breathe A Heavy Note
Sybil Antonova "Nova"
★★★★★★
Female / Twenty / Singer
Armarouge | Glaceon | Noivern
Indeedee | Lurantis | Lucario
Personality
Sybil is definitely the kind of person who keeps her walls up. Not in a cold, mysterious way—more like in a don’t bother me unless you’re serious kind of way. She’s super specific about who she lets in, both people and Pokémon. If a Pokémon doesn’t match her vibe or bring her peace, she’s not catching it, period. She’ll give that classic side-eye to anything she thinks is too immature or dramatic, like someone crying over spilled Poképuffs or trying to flirt mid-battle. But the weird part? When she’s on stage singing, it’s like a totally different side of her appears. She feels everything in those moments, even if she’d never admit it out loud.

Her sense of justice is strong, though. She’s not the type to ignore bad stuff just because it doesn’t involve her. If someone’s getting harassed or bullied, she will step in, and honestly? Probably be a little terrifying while doing it. She’s not afraid to swing a punch if someone’s crossing the line—though her Pokémon usually beat her to it. Still, she knows the limits and respects the law enough not to become the problem herself. She’d return a stolen wallet without expecting a thank you and walk off before anyone could make it a big deal. Sybil hates crowds and personal space invaders. Touch her without asking, and you’re probably gonna get barked at—literally or by one of her team.

Despite all that cold and distant energy, you can tell she feels more than she lets on. Her music’s packed with meaning, stories you’d never expect to come from someone who barely speaks to strangers. She’s not here to be liked—she’s here to exist on her own terms. Maybe that’s why her team respects her so much. Each Pokémon with her has a purpose, a story, a little shard of her heart. You won’t catch Sybil goofing off or trying to be cute, but you will catch her watching sunsets in silence with her Armarouge or sketching lyrics in the corner of a loud café, headphones in, world shut out.
Background
Sybil didn’t grow up with dreams of becoming a singer—at least not the kind who stood under a spotlight with people cheering her name. It started when she was about twelve, when she moved in with her aunt, who managed a run-down café with a tiny performance corner. Customers would often hum along to the old jukebox, and one night, her aunt dared her to sing. It was awkward, it was nerve-wracking, but she did it. And when she noticed the tired faces around her soften, even just a little, something about it clicked. She wasn’t singing to “express her pain” or “heal” anyone—it was just her voice filling the room, and that was enough. From there, she got invited to small events—fairs, tiny league fundraisers, sometimes the late-night train station lounges. She kept things simple. No flashy moves, no forced smiles—just rhythm, melody, and making sure her Pokémon got the first slice of cake at backstage parties.

Her Lucario didn’t come to her in any soft or sappy way. They met during a winter battle near Mt. Coronet—he was wild, fiercely proud, and seemed to be challenging anyone who passed through. Most trainers backed off after one look. Sybil didn’t. She didn’t even use her full team—just studied his movements, wore him down, and made it clear she wasn’t going to treat him like a trophy. After hours in the snow, bruised and worn, he finally sat down in front of her. She offered him a Poké Ball. He knocked it away at first. But by the second try, he accepted. Since then, he’s been her wall—rarely affectionate, but always present, just like her.

Lurantis came later, when Sybil was in a greenhouse doing a mini performance for a botanical expo. The place was quiet, humid, thick with blooming scents. Lurantis had been living in the back, camouflaged among the flowers. Sybil hadn’t even noticed her until she returned later that night to grab something she’d left behind. The Lurantis was watching her, curious. They stared at each other for a good minute before Sybil, without saying a word, offered her a Poké Puff. It wasn’t trust at first sight—but with time, the Grass-type warmed up. Not every Pokémon had to be dramatic to be strong, and Sybil respected that. Now, Lurantis likes hanging near her during vocal warmups, not because of the music, but probably just for the vibe.
