My friend came over last night with a bare minimum idea for a story but wanted to turn it into more. For some reason or another, she asked me to help her brainstorm and talk with her through different possibilities. It actually made me feel really good, even though I was nervous about it, since it wasn't my genre. I jokingly say that I do a little bit of everything in life, which I really do... But writing has always been my favorite. We talked about her story idea for at least four hours, bounced ideas off each other, complicated things and gave them underlying meanings... She left at 1:00AM. I'm just mind-blown and I feel so inspired and I just love writing so much that I wanted to share this with fellow writers. I actually quit roleplaying for a few years because I felt like I forgot how to write on my own. Now, I think I have a happy medium, and I specifically worked on plot-building, and I feel so happy that I helped someone turn her idea into a plot. I not only can write for myself again but I feel like I am able to be useful to other writers. Sorry for long post, but for those who not only roleplay but also write on their own... Perhaps you'll understand how I feel like I've grown as a writer in the past year and how proud that makes me feel.
