Law of Damage Relativilty: In fiction, but especially anime and manga , damage must be acknowledged before it takes effect. Surprise attacks that cause upper limbs to explode (especially the head) are the exception.
When hit with a blunt force exceeding the breaking points, an anime character's skin attain properties that transfer energy away from itself, resulting in only fatigue and minor scratches, while the majority of the impact is moved away and may cause cracks, craters or other forms of widespread destruction upon nearby surfaces or mountains.
