  • Not sure if I want to properly get back into rping. Definitely not in the next week - I had 4 tests and a concert sprung on me.
A friend of mine persuaded me to play Warhammer with him - Armour Saves kill me inside.
Planetary Annihilation: Titans brings out the tyrannical ruler in me. There's just something so satisfying in seeing your tank battalions rolling over the horizon towards an unsuspecting foe.

I prefer actual 4x games. I think instead of 'tyrannical ruler' you probably meant 'cunning general ripper'.

While it could be argued that the 4 X's (or at least three of them) apply to PA, I can't fault you on the 'Cunning General Ripper' correction. If the enemy don't expand though, then the cunning factor is rather lost in favour of Titans and Nuclear Bombardment.
Bought Transistor during the Winter Steam sales, and OH BOY.

I'm enjoying it a lot. I can't say much the reviews haven't, gameplay is a lot of fun, especially the combat system - I was surprised to find it wasn't turnbased (I went out of my way not to see anything regarding Transistor, so I was basically going in blind). The art is really pretty too (Images are spoiler-free, just in the spoiler to save space).

New PC arrives - Graphics card doesn't have VGA output. Gonna have to buy a DVI-VGA Adapter...

Turned out I bought the wrong one, so now instead I'm waiting for an HDMI - VGA adapter to arrive from Amazon. In the meantime I'm using the TV connected to my PC via HDMI, but the TV maxes out it's resolution at 1366 x 768.

I'm okay, but it has not escaped my attention that not everybody is and I wanted to let the people who need someone to talk to know that if they want they can talk to me. Thanks for asking though, I appreciate it.

Well I'm heading to France. Waking up at 3:30 AM is not advisable if it can be helped. I feel sick, but hey, I like planes, so there's that.
We regret to inform you that this is not the case, as instead we bring you: The Sonic Recreation of the End of the World.
Optimist: It's half full. Pessimist: It's half empty. Realist: We need more water. Idealist: It's perfect. Engineer: We need a bigger cup.
    CupAndCough
    CupAndCough
No wait--an idealist would desire more and more from it, basically seeing it as outcome it cannot have, thus works towards an idealistic future.

A realist just accepts the water and the cup as a cup with water in it. That's all that is there and there is nothing need and nothing to preserve, it is just there.
    Hercynia

So, realistically - actually, that's a bad term if I'm talking matter-of-factly on something to do with realists, but oh well - I should have switched the definition for realist and idealist? I couldn't have made it any longer for anything more detailed - pretty sure I was actually on the limit.
    CupAndCough
    CupAndCough
basically, I don't think a realist would use the word perfect tho. They would just boldly state that its a cup of water. It is nothing more nothing less. I doubt a realist would also consider the word perfect anything less than pure vanity or just bullcrap.

Idealist: It can be something greater.

    Realist: Meh.
Optimist: It's half full. Pessimist: It's half empty. Me: I shall construct a system that creates water to refill the cup, and it'll... etc.
