  • The best and worst feeling is watching a TV Show and seeing two characters interact and all you can think is "get a room".
From now on, I'm going to pray using sarcasm and science terms.

    Sometimes.

Mostly when I go to services.

Honestly, sometimes - not often, mind you - I make jokes in my prayers. I figure God probably has a sense of humour, and appreciates it in some way or another.

I mean, he created us. So clearly he must have a sense of humor.
Dear normal people: If you're getting pissed at people about sports and the like, we have every right to get pissed at you about your ignorance towards our past times. And for the last time, his name's! Not! Zelda! It's Link!

Also, my controller's expensive so put it down before you break it or I break you.

And for that matter, only ask me what I'm playing if you actually want to know! Don't patronize me!
Ironically, Captain Marvel's name is now Shazam.

    hows that ironic

Because there's a whole trope titled after him and how is name wasn't shazam. That's kind of what he was famous for. Otherwise he's a forgettable dc character.
"Dedede is already perfect, so his inhale won't copy abilities. Instead, it has a longer range than Kirby's." -Super Smash Bros.
Simetimes I read lines from the bible that tell people to do stuff or not to do stuff and I'm like "What's your reasoning here?"
Some people joke about Superman being an illegal alien but he actually does have an American citizenship. Wonder Woman, on the other hand...
Life is a TV Show and I'm a Major Minor character. That is what I now believe.
    I embrace capitalism.

I say this because if future me's show doesn't sell enough toys it gets canceled even if it is really good.
    More controversy!

Looking at the bible from a completley literary standpoint (which I do because in the long run it's a book), Jesus is a flat character. A mary Sue, even.

Well, I can't deny the Bible embelishes things a little. The old testament was very literally written in a form of poetry, where the new one has four different versions of Jesu's life (not contraditory, but highlighting particular details/aspects of it) so there is likely a degree of embelishment. That said, I do believe the events portrayed are accurate.

I wouldn't say that. While it is wholly possible the original bible could have been accurate, the Bible as it currently stands is full of years, decades even, worth of translation errors. Ever since it was originally put down on paper in... the 6th century. I think.

Ah, you may be misunderstanding. I don't mean that it is accurate word for word- I mean it is accurate in the sense that the miracles and events happened and that the kinds of things Jesus said are being properly portrayed saying what was meant to be said, even if it isn't exactly photographic report for lack of a better way to put it.
Apparently Jesus jokes are offensive. Well you know what, You're a member of the largest religion in America! Frigging deal with it!

On a personal basis, I don't take stuff on religion personally, unless someone is trying to pass difamation as fact. This goes for jokes and any kind of fictional portrayal alike. So long as the person shows an awareness that the basis of the joke will most of the time be innacurate to the actual beliefs/content of the religion it tends to get a pass from me.

I'd say beyond that limiar, it really doesn't make a lot of sense to harp on jokes- someone is going to find them offensive regardless and while certain jokes- religious, about rape etc..- may trigger some people humor is based in tragedy to begin with, so this is kind of inevitable. In fact, humor can help people cope with some of these events, while also bringing awareness of their negativity in a way that doesn't

Make people feel attacked for it.

So to me at least humor is harmful only if it gives a purposefully false impression of something presenting it as a fact, or in other situations when it is physically harmful.
When I was younger I was so proud to live in America. Now, I'd rather live anywhere else. Well, not anywhere else. Mostly just Canada and Western europe (central europe is nice, too).

I'm...not sure actually. I don't really watch TV so I'm not too familiar with them, though given licencing seems to be half non-existent I don't think the government here is harping on such laws. I'll check 'em for ya later if ya want
I've come up with, or rather, schrodinger came up with which I then modified, a theory I call Schrodinger's God. Just like the cat that is both dead and alive, God both Exists or doesn't exist until one is proven over the other.
People say that God has a plan but why do they always assume it's a good one?

    That makes sense.

Though, what makes me curious is what God actually looks like. What would A flawless being, if one exists, look like. (And no, the answer is not that I wouldn't be able to comprehend it and my head would explode).

I honestly don't know. Does God even have a "form" one could look at all? Looking implies interaction with your sense of sight, but God is not a material being (with one exception, Jesus, and in that case I imagine He looked like a regular man in that region)
