So I'm in my church's youth choir, and sometimes we have solos for the songs. Often we try out for them, but it seems like every time it's the choir director's daughter who gets it. Every. Time. She's a senior this year, and graduating, so I get like it's nice to get solos during your final year, but as far as I know, this has been going on basically since she joined choir. Like, please? Can you not? Can you give someone else a chance for once? Every time someone who isn't her gets the solo, I can't help but feel smug because for once, it's not her.


Next week, we're singing a song with a solo, of course. Last week when we practiced it, we had four people split up the solo, right, one of them being me. It was pretty great, and I thought it was a nice arrangement of how to do it. But this week, our director just asked his daughter to take the solo, and I was like, "What? Huh? Are we not doing the four part thing? WHY NOT?" So I sat there, confused and also a bit angry. Finally I left the room and went to the bathroom, where I cried for about a minute before wiping my face and going back, acting like I wasn't pissed that she always gets the solo.


Not only does it crush my self-esteem, but it also gives me a sense of unfairness. She's a good singer, don't get me wrong, but shouldn't she give others a chance?


Ugh, ignore me. I'm just needlessly pissed.

I actually...don't have that much homework...
