Introduce Yourself!

Good afternoon, evening, night, or morning. My name is Evoker (or just Evo.) I've been roleplaying for around 12 going on 13 years at this point. My tastes in RP vary as I dip into fantasy, sci-fi, and even modern (with some twists to this.) Typically I do tend to enjoy more darker, mature themes. Horror with monsters, fantasy with conflict, modern settings with a twist of the above. Slice of life roleplay is nice in these, and I'm a sucker for odd pairings. Romance in RP is something I enjoy and cherish. It can help the pace of things.

Preferably, and ideally, I enjoy 1 x 1 roleplay. Group roleplay can be nice and I've done plenty of that, but planning a world/universe with just one person makes things go wonderfully for me. It is more my forte, though even group roleplay I have plenty of experience in.

As for my length? Well, this can vary. A good, long post where it is needed to a short post if it fits; but never do I skimp out on a post! Roleplay is my passion and pass-time. It's something I enjoy the most, so I tend to covet it a bit more. Meaning, I am not likely to ghost you and I take pride in my work. With that in mind, I am not an elitist. We all started somewhere, after all. So long as effort (and good grammar) is achieved, then all is well!

While I'm not too keen on slow posting, I tend to enjoy a faster paced roleplay medium. Instant messengers is typically what I dabble in. Specifically discord. That does not mean I'm not open to slower, forum posts, or PMs.

Hello, my name is Ryan.
I’m brand new here but I used to rp a long time ago elsewhere. I’ve had ides simmering and wanted to get back into writing. That, and I could use some new comrades(I’m sure I’m not the only one). I’m big into fantasy, sci-fi, steam/diesel/cyberpunk and the lot. Inhuman creature characters and intricate worlds. Hit me up if you have some interesting ideas.

So, uh, hey there everybody! I just go by the name Top Snek on most platforms, although I've never exactly used any kind of forum like this before. Frankly I'm not even sure if this is what it means by making a post! Anyways, uh, getting to those prompts at the very top, I like to consider myself to be fairly experienced in roleplaying, having started four years ago, but rapidly learning and developing as both a writer and roleplayer since. I started on Tumblr as an experimental thing, and then got into roleplaying on Amino and Discord, then Deviantart. Now, I've finally found myself coming here, in the hopes that my developing skill level would be better suited, as I find people skimming my longer and longer open roleplay starters and making mistakes or continuity errors when trying to respond, or people just ignore it, intimidated by the length of the starting line. While fairly inexperienced when it comes to fighting, I'm skilled at leaving implications and hints in writing, as well as describing things in vivid detail. I roleplay in the third person perspective, and my lines vary in length, ranging from three sentences to multiple paragraphs in length. I love to roleplay as a timekiller, although, I'm rather, tentative, when it comes to any sort of confrontations. When I'm faced with things I don't like, I tend to act rather cowardly, avoiding my problems by either ghosting, or deleting the source of the discomfort and acting as if nothing had occurred.

My interests in roleplay are extremely varied, and rather flexible, meaning I'm willing to RP in a lot of situations and settings, but am also terrible at making said choices on my own. While I don't really enjoy fighting in roleplay, I tend to look for things like character development, to help me grow my more boring and one sided characters into dynamic ones with a proper backstory and fleshed out personality. I'm also a real sucker for cuddly and wholesome stuff, but just in moderation, of course. I avoid roleplays involving only humans, however, preferring roleplays involving humans and animals, or just animals, both real or fictional. While I'm willing to expand my horizons, I prefer fantasy settings, and my personal favorite settings would be the universe in which Capcom's Monster Hunter game series takes place, and the universe in which Tui T. Sutherland's Wings of Fire book series takes place. I also have rather flexible human characters, who I can adapt fairly easily into most fandoms or settings, as well as a snake that's almost just as flexible.

Outside of roleplay, I frequently find myself playing video games, and lots of them. Too many to name! Some notable examples would be Monster Hunter (In fact, my profile picture is an Elder Dragon from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate), God of War, ARK, Hollow Knight, Ori, Moonlighter, Zelda, Drawn to Life, Yo-Kai Watch, Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian, Resident Evil, Far Cry, Outer Wilds, Minecraft, Terraria, Starbound, Skyrim, Fallout, Spyro, and really the list just keeps going! Outside of games, I'll read pretty much any book with dragons in it, and I also dabble in creative writing whenever the inspiration strikes me. So far my best story was a 12.3k word story in the first person, that was well written enough to hold the attention of a college English professor for an entire period. I also study a variety of scientific topics in my free time, or theorize about the science behind things in games, books, and movies. My most recent feat was creating an entire fictional species from scratch and using it as a project for my Environmental Science class.

As for pets, I had a hedgehog named Tesla who died a few years ago. He was very, very grumpy, and was pretty horrible at being handled, but I loved him anyway, and was devastated by his passing. Now, I have two cats, the first one being Trico, named after your companion in The Last Guardian, and Hibana, meaning Spark in Japanese. Trico is the one we got first, who used to be fairly affectionate, if skittish, but has begun avoiding me like the plague. He's primarily black with a while underside and paws. Meanwhile, Hibana is younger, and smaller, but extraordinarily affectionate, often walking over to me and laying down, before beginning to purr. In fact, while writing this, he laid on my keyboard and began purring, refusing to budge for around twenty minutes! He's also got a bad habit of begging, and often tries to steal and food if left unattended.

So, uh, that's it I guess? Sorry if it's too long. Again, this is my first time ever using any kind of forum. I sincerely look forward to meeting new people and making new friends! Gosh my fingers hurt after writing all this...

But it's been hard to find a group I feel okay rping with, so someone suggested this place. I mostly have trouble getting to know other players, been trying a few groups but I mostly feel left out. Hi, my name is Red. I used to be part of the geeking community under the name Aya_2474. I've basically been roleplaying for around three years but wasn't sure what to do after the closure of geeking. I'd say my writing style is quite descriptive as I grew up reading books like Crime and Punishment and Jane Eyre and I suppose my style originated from those books quite a lot. I'm partial to a bit of fantasy and a roleplay which includes a sort of apocalyptic plot line. I also like some romance in my roleplays, even if it's just on the side apart from the main overarching story. I play both male and female characters as well.

Aside from roleplaying and reading classical novels, I've made it my mission this year to become a horror narrator if possible (although I am struggling a bit with this new years resolution oops.)

Hey there! You can call me Ghost. (Which obviously has nothing to do with my real name, but I digress.) I'm a twenty-something guy from Finland. Besides writing, my hobbies include art, reading, history, music and gaming. I'm big into horror and old anime. I'm always drawing — I go through a lot of ink pens in a year.

I've been curious about this site for a while now, but only now got to creating an account. I used to be big into roleplay as a teen, and have been drifting in and out of the hobby ever since. I mostly wrote through IMs and on Tumblr. (Remember when that site was still usable?) The intricacies of forum RP are still a mystery to me. Group RPs look interesting, so I'll be trying to figure those out.

I mostly write personal interpretations of canon characters, who eventually tend to drift away from canon into uncharted territory. I've been known to have a soft spot for fictional villains. Whether they're an insignificant monster-of-the-week henchman nobody else remembers, a one-dimensional evil overlord of all things dark and dreadful, or the fan girls' favorite misunderstood bad boy, that's probably who I'm writing.

The stuff I'm into changes, as I'm sure it does for all of us. My long-time fandoms are Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lovecraft, Stardew Valley, Sailor Moon, Disney, DreamWorks, Ju-on, Azumanga Daioh, Phantom of The Opera, Scream and Don't Starve, to name a few that might pique your interest.

I'm not a big talker when it comes to myself. Asking me about roleplay ideas, or telling me about yourself is a more reliable way to get the conversation going. I enjoy listening to other creatives talk about their OCs and projects.

Outside of the computer, I read almost all the time, and suffer through school. I also do Brazillian Jiujitsu and Kickboxing, which I love. Fighting is very fun.
