Excited to be dipping my toe back in the water. At the risk of aging myself I've been RPing since Neopets and the early days of GaiaOnline. Just your average dorkus malorkus who enjoys creative writing with a fren.

I enjoy 1x1 and group RPing. Open to just about anything, depending on the vibe and whatever ideas are a-hatching in the brain. Fantasy, modern, slice of life, both het and non-het romance, adventure, anime, show/series/movie, video game - always open to new ideas!

Some of my favorite games/movies/series: Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, LOTR, DnD type stories (still learning Baldur's Gate), Given, Stranger by the Shore, Yuri on Ice, Free!, Death Parade, JJK, My Hero Academia, K Project, AOT, Demon Slayer, Mignon, and more!

Hobbies include (but are not limited to): archery, hiking, woodworking, anime, taking pictures of my dog/cats when they're sleeping, and staring into the abyss. I have a pitbull/pitty/pibble mix (oh, to be a former street dog with millennial DINK parents), two cats (one who's about 25 lbs and one who's polydactyl and I'm also pretty sure is a reincarnated death row inmate).

I decided to stray from GaiaOnline and give this platform a try because I find the drama on that site to be a bit tiring and distracting. Just looking to be able to enjoy creativity without a bunch of background bickering, knowwhatImean?

Silly fact (I guess): Styrofoam is the WORST and the sound of it rubbing together makes my teeth hurt.

Hello! My name is Alto, and I am pretty new here! Though I may be new here I am not new to the roleplay experience as I have been roleplaying for many many years. I am 18 years old, and have always been a fan of writing especially about the fandoms and interests I enjoy! I am excited to make new friends here, and learn about this website as I have always enjoyed roleplaying but there has never been many platforms to easily do so! Before I used to use things like Amino to roleplay on. I can't wait to roleplay with others, and in general be able to experience a fun time here! :]
 
Salutations!

I don't ordinarily bother introducing myself in threads like these, since not too many people read them, but the site recommends it and I need at least one post to start, so why not?

I've been writing for about thirteen years and roleplaying for nine or ten. My focus is on prose and I'm at least decently skilled, so my posts have historically tended to be on the longer side. I haven't joined a roleplaying-specific site until now, so this will hopefully be interesting.

My main passion is fantasy, but because I'm also a scientist, I apply realism to my worldbuilding (hard magic all the way!). I'm also happy to write more generally mundane stuff if it focuses on character interactions, as I joined the character camp in the Plot vs Characters struggle long ago already. My preferred time periods are post-modern and anything from early modern earlier — but, if it matters, do note that I can actually explain the difference between the classical, early and high and late medieval, and renaissance/early modern periods. My geographical knowledge is regrettably mostly European, but I'm always working on expanding on that.

I'm fairly approachable, even if it may sometimes seem otherwise, so feel free to say hi!

I go by Daisy and go by she/her pronouns. i’m 18 years old. I’ve been role playing for years, so this is something i’m not new too, i’m coming here since i found out quotev died (rip). I’m a big fan of descriptive rp. Genres I enjoy are horror, adventure, fantasy, action, and romance. I love writing and creating new stories so that’s why I love to rp! Outside of this, i’m in my second year of college for forensics and i enjoy to read and draw. I also have two cats, daphne and dash ! I am super new to this so this is so so so confusing but i’m hoping i can understand how to work this :)

I'm Ven i've had a membership on here for a long time...and i used to post on here in a few RP threads..but it's been so long i figured i'd re-introduce myself. My favorite RP is any of those bar type rps..or anythng that's fairly active...fantasy is mor my jam than slice of life or high tech. I will warn as i am so rusty it'll take me a bit to get back to my full posting power(4-5 paragraphs) but I'll always promise to do my best...

I recently happened upon this site while I was looking for Google Docs templates for my OCs' bios, and figured why not join! I used to be pretty active in the FFXIV RP community until about 2021, when I began taking a very LONG break from the scene. Even though I prefer to write my OCs' stories by myself these days, I still love RP a lot and love reading other peoples' stories/reading about their OCs! Looking forward to seeing what you create!

Hey! :] I completely understand! I remember being extremely disoriented when I first joined - you are not alone. I'll walk you through the homepage!

If you click on the RpNation logo up top, it'll take you to the homepage, where you can peruse the various sections of the site. The top section, "RpNation", involves stuff like official site matters and introductions. You can see from the homepage that we're posting in the Community Hub right now!
Also within the RpNation section is the "Private Workshop", which is a section of the forums only you can see. So you can post there if you want to maybe keep drafts or experiment with the website's features on your own.

Below the "RpNation" section is "Creativity", designated towards all things creative. It's where people show off codes they use to make their messages look fancy (BBCodes), solo writing projects, or art.

Below that is the discussion section. General Discussion is for regular, non-RP matters, Pop culture for stuff like music, anime, and TV, and RP Discussion & Advice is pretty self-explanatory.

Then we get to the RP stuff! The "Recruitment" section of the site is where RPers go to post what we call "interest checks", which is exactly what it says on the label. They check for interest in various RP ideas. It's essentially advertisement for the type of RP you want to host or create. This is how people generally join new RPs!

Then below that is the "Roleplays" section, which is where people actively RP! There are tons of different types of RPs, so I recommend taking your time in familiarizing yourself with all of them - there really isn't any rush.

So! All that being said, I recommend you check out a few things you can find anytime towards the top of the homepage, in the Community Hub.
You can follow this link to find the RpNation Handbook, which details a lot of the things you should know about the site. This is where to find the site's rules, the discord server, the staff list, and a pretty handy FAQ.
After you've given that a look, I highly recommend giving this guide a read. I've given you a pretty basic rundown of how the site is laid out, but this can probably answer all of the questions I haven't already, and it does so in a very straightforward way that's friendly to new users!
If you wanna find that again, it's also in the community hub. If you scroll past the Tutorials and the RpN Handbook, it's right under the "introduce yourself" thread :)

That being said, if you need any more help, feel free to reply here! I'm more than happy to lend a hand. I distinctly remember being quite embarrassed because it took me over a few days to figure out how to even create a thread lol. So I mean it when I say there is no such thing as a stupid question. You're doing just fine!

i ‘ m usually into fandom rps , but anything is fine as long as i ‘ m okay with it ! i ‘ m semi - literate , but i don ‘ t mind any type of writing style .

Big fan of anime, comics, martial arts movies, the works. If you like 3rd-party roleplays, I'm especially interested in roleplay sites centered around Soul Eater, Kingdom Hearts, One Piece, Fairy Tail, Hell's Paradise, or Jujutsu Kaisen. Or, if you know any original roleplaying sites, I most like urban fantasy and ancient mythology (Greek, Japanese, Chinese, Aztec, Egyptian, Norse, you name it). But above all, I appreciate some good lore/events more than anything. Spill the tea to me.
