✦ BIRTH AND CHILDHOOD ✦

The story begins many, many years ago in a manor in Neverwinter, a land that has never yet been touched by the cold and dead of winter. The birth of the last heir to the fortune of the Koralis clan; born of her elven father, Cain Koralis, an esteemed historian and archaeologist in the world of the arcane, and her humane mother, Jean Fitzwallis-Koralis. Her heritage, being that of half-elf, is a common trait amongst her and her thirty-five siblings, some long passed by the time she'd been born. This culmination of many siblings generated wealth when there was none to start with, creating a noble name to the Koralis clan. It can be seen as rather strange to talk of them, and note that the youngest of the first generation of them are as young as some of her great-great nieces and nephews. Zephyra's mother died from the stressors of birth after two months of creating life. Cain's fourteenth wife, gone with the wind once more. Cain had been growing old, moving his career from going on expeditions and writing studies, he became a professor at Neverwinter Arcane University. Unlike her other siblings, she was able to have quality time to understand her father and time to cherish him enough to desire his approval. For that sole reason, did she pursue magic from the age of twelve. It was all small spells until her father caught on to her motivations, and decided to become a personal tutor.

✦ LATER STAGES AND NOW ✦

In her early years, Zephyra took a liking to how closely her father monitored the way she'd flick her fingers, the way he'd remind her of how she may have spoke the verbiage wrong. She liked being corrected, so that she could hear her father speak, tell her why and how the world worked. Why and how she was wrong. But oh, so quickly, did she grow to resent such a level of control over her. Quickly did she feel a rage envelop her mind. Not to mention, she'd only learn what her father wanted her to learn. It was the ultimate form of control, manipulating the sole system of education she had. She despised it. Not to mention, this closeness to her father drew her away from her siblings, who all resented him, yet still came to hail to him at any given notice. She never understood why, and she would never come to understand. Maybe it was because all of their mothers had gone, much like hers, and they felt a duty to him since Cain was all they had left. Quickly, through both systemic advantages and arcane prowess, did Zephyra get accepted in the very institution her father once taught at, now retired from the cracks of age showing in him. Neverwinter Arcane University was a new beginning for her, and she vowed to never go back home again, to never look back and regret. That is... Until she was taken by a nautiloid ship, praying to the gods that she'd be back home in her bed. The journey is her own now, and she intends to make every second count.

✦ ZEPHYRA AS A COMPANION ✦

Zephyra is a hyper-critical person that will give you -1 disapproval for doing things such as saying something even remotely out of the norm for any social situation. She is extremely sheltered in terms of life, and isn't very wise, but is incredibly intelligent, so as a companion, using her for any sort of intelligent conversation or looking over artifacts would be best. She has proficiency in history and perception, and has a -2 persuasion roll due to her low charisma.

She isn't "nice" from the beginning, belittling you about not knowing what she knows and will let you know that she is the superior person in any conversation. Proving her wrong through civil discourse or just observations of brute strength, however, gives you +2 approval, as she will gain respect for your ability to keep a backbone. She is extremely critical of any pursuit of the tadpole or gaining more power through it, deeming it unnatural, but pointing out that she is a hypocrite since she raises the dead on a daily basis, thus making what she does also unnatural, will make her question herself and what she does as a mage and you gain -2 disapproval.

Small actions like helping the young tiefling out on the beach by saving them from harpies, or defending Arabella will get you +2 approval instantly. Defending or preserving the livelihoods of children will always be a win for her. She will, however, approve if you choose to kick a squirrel into the next world.

Her first romance scene is quite simple, she will read poetry to you and analyse what it means with you. Subtext will imply that she's taken a keen interest in you, something that doesn't happen often, as her life has been wrought with indifference and seeing vulnerability as a cardinal sin. Showing interest by even inviting you to her tent, and reading poetry, to her, is the act of kindness. If you decide that you want to be friends after that, she will have sparse dialogue that will illustrate that she is quite bitter about it, but is holding her tongue nonetheless.

Her second can be achieved in the Underdark or after you leave Rosymorn, where she will invite you to look on a beautiful view of the dark sky, and she will present to you with a poem of her own, that she has written about her feelings for you. Depending on how you approach her, she will either carnally want you only to herself, as an act of control and greed, or she will see you as somebody who is protecting a flower that'd been wilting away for years, watering it to full health once more. She will give you a kiss on the cheek, which is the most emotion you have seen from her yet, and she will stand up, take a bow, and go back to her tent.

Her third romance scene can be achieved once you reach Shar's temple, after reaching Balthasaar, where she will show up to your tent in only her sleeping robe and tell Tav how much palpable power she felt surging through her. How she felt Myrkul in her veins, the very god she prayed to, and she must let it out or else she feels she'd make a fool of herself. I will leave it to the imagination what happens next.

Her fourth is going to be the deciding factor for her, deciding on what ending she will get. She will come to you, crying from a nightmare that she'd had and will cry in your arms. Her dream is something that happened to her in childhood, where she nearly died after getting cocky and stating she'd be able to beat her father in a duel. To prove her wrong, her father accepted the challenge and beat her until she had to be put on bedrest for months. The same image of his unrelenting discontent, his distate and dissatisfaction with her as soon as she fell down and didn't get back up again. It haunts her. Tav must decide whether to steer her into a mindset of wanting more control, or wanting healthy relationships in life.

Her final scene, in Act 3, is a direct result of the fourth scene. Either way, she will be seen holding Tav in her arms as they rest together.

Her two endings are quite simple, either she becomes a banshee queen of the undead, hailing from Myrkul and being a very noble woman who aspires to lich-hood, or she will end up having a farm with Tav and teaches at Blackstaff University, just a city away from her family, but still far enough, where they are still planning their insane wedding (as, if y'all remember, Zephyra comes from a lot of money so of course there is going to be an extravagant wedding).
