Breadman

Big loaf supreme
Here is where you can access a more condensed version of the lore I have put down for Plumbers. I apologize if its too bare bones, but I want the essentials to be available to you.

Lets get started!

Plumbers-Lets start with the main thing. You are the Plumbers. What does that mean? Well you're not going to be fixing pipes or the sewer system. Not in the traditional way. The multiverse is a complicated web that links to each other through various events, people or details. As such sometimes something will break. You are called in to fix it if the damage is done not out of natural causes, but in event of tampering or outside incursion. You are essentially the first responders and the people who will have to get their hands dirty to ensure things are returned to normal.Plumbers are usually recruited (but not limited to) from people who's reality has been damaged in some way. Archivists comb through the population and pick out those who show potential-those are called Constants. More on that later. What make them special is that they have the ability to freely travel through reality gates and help fix broken realities. As such they are prime Plumber candidates.

Citadel- A shining beacon in a sea of chaos that exists between realities. Your current home. If you're from a damaged reality, the Authority will accommodate you in the city. The benefit of being its own pocket universe is that the citadel has extensive use of impossible spaces, meaning that your accommodations can be made to fit your needs. Your world is not limited to your living quarters. In the Citadel you will find many places where you can spend your time between missions. The parks, theaters and leisure complexes offer a variety of options from many different worlds and timelines. The library houses a great archive of information that you can use at your disposal. Plumbers are advised to visit and familiarize themselves with a few points of interest: Moira's Chop Shop. Santoro's Armory, Steph and Grob's BnB, the Helldiver entrance and the Main archive.

Your baddies!

The Outsiders-An enigmatic group that exist in their own pocket dimensions. They will usually show up in a humanoid form and would appear to be made of starts. If that is indeed the case or just a trick they play, has yet to be determined. Their motivation is unknown, but what successfull probing has been done has resulted in speculations at best. The most popular theory is that they collect unique items from different universes and sometimes people. In order to get their hands on their target, they will either deploy their agents or recruit locally through Faustian pacts. Once they have gotten what they want, the reality would begin to fall apart as a key part of it is missing. Needless to say, stopping them and returning what was stolen is important. (edited)

The Hells-The space between realities is chaos and in that chaos exists Hell. Not just the one you're familiar with, every Hell. Different Hells have their own origin, structure and rulers. Sometimes its a king, sometimes a duke and sometimes nobody is in charge and its pure anarchy. What we know is that a lot of them like to barge into worlds uninvited and unprompted so we have to put them back where they belong. The tricky part is making sure the demonic invasion is actually breaking a reality and not something that's supposed to happen.

The Heavens- If you thought demons are the only ones causing trouble, you'd be forgiven for making that mistake. Turns out the Heavenly host of a number of realities can fall to corruption or turn their anger towards mortals. The Heavens themselves don't seem to have a uniform purpose either. Many times, you will find the creators of a reality in one of them and sometimes they only exist to counter balance Hell. and just like Hell, figuring out if an invasion from them is supposed to happen is key before any Plumbers are deployed.

The Swarm-Born from dying universes and sunsetting timelines. The Swarm lives up to its name as it comes in and consumes everything it can until there is nothing left. Once done feasting, it turns on itself and devours its own biomass, leading to a release of energy that would birth a new universe. Thats one way new ones are born. Unfortunately sometimes the bugs leave their quarantine and have to be squashed before they infect and consume a healthy timeline.

People who just don't know any better-Despite everything listed above, sometimes its someone just doing something incredibly dumb or downright evil that damages their reality. Mortals will always play with things they shouldn't and the results can be disasterous.

Additional help!

The Authority- The body that governs the Citadel. They are a council from many worlds, timelines and realities that has been displaced or has chosen to stay on the Citadel. Their origin points so far back that its hard to guess what came first, them or the Citadel. In any case, they appear to be benevolent and their top priorities are to fix the realities that are damaged and to make sure that Plumbers wishing to return make it home.

Constants-Now for what makes Plumbers special. In any reality there are constants and variables. Variables are people who will change from timeline to timeline. They may not even exist in certain universes. Constants are the people who will always be present in a timeline in one way or another. This serves as an anchor point for Plumbers to enter a new reality freely even take control of their alt-universe self if it could help the mission. The good thing is that despite being connected to each other through some cosmic link, a Plumber does not need to be anywhere near their other version in order to conduct their operations. They don't even need to be alive. The link helps the alt-timeline recognize their presence without causing damage to the universe's fabric and making the job harder. Before each deployment a scan will show where your alternate version is located, what they are doing and just how different they are from you. (Meaning, I'll roll some dice to determine how good body swapping will go)
