Maggie believes in the goodness of others (until they prove otherwise, at least) but that doesn't mean she's a pushover, nor a fool. Her naturally strong will has been honed by temple training, as has her innate integrity and morality. Maggie will need a very good reason to act against what she perceives to be right - although appealing to her sense of greater good will help, if she has focused too much on the trees to see the forest. She isn't unreasonable, but she can be stubborn in her pursuit of justice and helping others. Due to her background, she is curiously unworldly at times, and wise beyond her years at others. She cares deeply for those around her, especially their emotional, mental, and spiritual needs. For Maggie, "spiritual" is not the same as "religious" - she recognizes that there are many faiths in Asgard, and is willing to coexist with any that will return the favor. That won't stop her from trying to give spiritual help to someone not of her faith, but neither is she likely to try to convert them.
Maggie was born to a poor woman in the city of Alicante. After passing from one temporary job to another, Maggie's mother came to the conclusion that she just couldn't support both herself and the child, and abandoned her on the steps of the Maker's temple. Thus it was that Maggie was raised within the priesthood, and took vows of her own upon reaching adulthood. Her strong desire to help others led her into the path of wandering priestess rather than stationary preacher, a kind of itinerant do-gooder if you will, attending to the needs of the communities she passes through and tending to the wayside shrines.
On one such trip, she made something of a name for herself by refusing to conduct a wedding ceremony - after speaking with the couple, she found that their only real desire for marriage was so they could bed each other without harm to their reputations. Maggie declared that marriage without real love was a greater sin than having relations outside the marriage bed, and advised them to have their fun first, and get married when they'd done some growing up. A bit much coming from someone so young, to people half again as old! But she didn't back down, and her superiors chose to support her decision, to the village's amusement.
All her life, Maggie has had strong beliefs regarding what is good and right, and the willingness to follow those beliefs wherever they take her. It is these beliefs and this willingness that had led her to where she is now...
Usually described as "pretty enough" rather than pretty or beautiful, she has brown hair, warm brown eyes, and lightly-tanned skin. She smiles frequently, having a visibly positive attitude. She usually wears the robes of her priesthood or sturdy, well-worn leather armour, and carries a staff like she knows how to use it.
