Hello again! This will be where you make the character sheets for me to review.

What will you need to submit:

Description: What does your character look like? You can use words to describe them or used a picture (recommended)

Biography: Leader of Delta team (that's you). Prax's reality is one where humanity was on the verge of overcoming a devastating war when the Outsiders interfered and stole the key object that would ensure their survival. As a result, Prax can't return home until said item is recovered. Needless to say this has turned into a preference for Prax to go after missions against our enigmatic foes. Rather than let this be a hindrance, Plumber HQ has authorized for Prax and by extension Delta to be assigned experimental anti-Outsider gear and investigate leads to any of their vaults.

Universe of origin description: HG-58209873 is a reality where Earth has been caught in the crossfire between tow warring alien factions. The planet was chosen as the next battlefield between the two due to its strategic position on the galactic map. It was rich with the resources they needed and a native population that could be trained and indoctrinated into service of both warring empires. The following war left large parts of Earth's surface in ruins and humanity subservient to its two overlords competing for control.
After many long years an insurgency of freedom fighters led a resistance movement that would see the planet free from alien control and establish itself as an independent entity on the galactic map. The campaign moved from continent to continent and with each victory their numbers swelled. The resistance initiated one final assault on an alien vault that would contain something called the Universal sphere. An item that would allow Earth to maintain its independence. But just as they were going to take it, agents of the Outsiders revealed themselves and stole the artefact, thus breaking the timeline.

Perk 1: Resistance leader- When faced with enemies that outnumber Delta squad, Prax gives a bonus to defense and attack to each member.
Perk 2: Take a bullet of each of them-Once in combat Prax can step in the line of fire for one of his team if they take critical damage. This will cut the damage to 1/3 and he will absorb it.

Biography: Delta team's second in command. Hailing from the same reality he's from. Luck would have it that she was also a constant. She shares his desire to go back home, but is more pragmatic of the two as she has an eye for the bigger picture. The Outsiders are a threat, but not the only one and focusing on them opens a blind spot for every other threat that exists. This causes some friction between the two, but hasn't stopped them from working as a efficient team, nor has it gotten in the way of leading the team. Until their problem has a solution, their priority is getting any Plumber agents under their command back home.
Universe of origin description: Exact same as Prax's bio so no need to repeat that.
Perk 1: Crack shot- Thanks to years of training, Checkers has a higher chance to hit a critical strike on an enemy.
Perk 2: Hunter's mark- Checkers knows how to identify weak spots on enemies once they have spend some time fighting them. Once during combat a boss or mini-boss enemy will take a guaranteed critical strike from the first 3 team members who land a hit after their health drops under 50%​

Occupation: A consumer product that could only interact with products with similar AI, whether identical to him or not (refuses to elaborate on what he specifically did)

Biography: He is an advanced AI that was originally contained in a 'micro-machine' (what kind he never shares). Though he refuses to elaborate on what exactly occurred when he arrived in the Citadel, one thing Ted always emphasizes is that he received his android body after arriving. To those that had spoken to him prior to his employment as a Plumber due to his identification as a 'constant', he was identified as a cowardly, meek, and generally unenthusiastic fellow, yet despite that having been identified as a potential killer in his past life (due to 'electrical faults'). Rumors exist that 'Ted Coach' is not actually his proper name, largely inspired by the teasing he receives from Moira, one of the few in the know on his actual background. Seems to be fond of kitchen appliances, and has cooking prowess. With his android body having the capacity to eat and taste, he seems to enjoy eating quite a bit.

Universe of origin description: Ted wasn't all that aware of what his universe was like before The Event happened. After being purchased, he stayed in one place, and communicated with roughly the same AI for ages before - an isolated existence to a great degree. It was only after arriving in the Citadel that he discovered what had happened (a 'corruption' event, as it was put), and he began looking into his universe's history. He was from a world where even everyday appliances have advanced AIs, with robotics laws preventing them from doing anything to humans intentionally. Looking into his universe's history would inspire the attire he wears.

Perk 1: Healing through Replication - as his android body is standard-issue, it is also highly modular. With that in mind, to enhance Ted's usefulness, Moira had integrated a Food Replicator into his abdominal area, complete with projectile capacity, to heal up his would-be colleagues.
Perk 2: Artificial Communication - though the scope of his actions was limited in his past life, one thing which Ted was extremely proficient at was interfacing with fellow AIs, with his capacity even including non-AI machines to a certain degree, giving him a wide range of machine interfacing.

Biography: Val grew up a ward of the Septerran Church of the Creator: an orphan of unknown lineage in the care of the Sisters of Mercy of Alma. A small agrarian village scarcely more than fifteen buildings large, Alma was a sleepy little town where not much happened, but folks were always willing to listen and lend a hand when someone was in need. It was here in this humble, nurturing environment where Val gained her devotion to the faith, in every day seeing the kindness and caring of the Sisters of Mercy as well as the surrounding townsfolk, and as she became of age much to the sisters' pride she voiced her desires to join the Holy Orders of the Church, setting off to the capital city of Proteria to begin her training at the university/training facility known as the Citadel of the Faithful.

Her time at the Citadel tested her true devotion, with strict tutelage combined with rigorous drill on a daily basis. Through it all she relied on her internal drive to persevere through every test, and immediately following her graduation she began her service to the church, prepared to serve the will of the Creator at a moment's notice. Little did she know her trials were yet to begin, and from the beginning she seemed to find every chance to stumble into hostile forces and conspiracy, culminating in a front-row seat to the major upheaval known as the Ecclesiastical Cataclysm.

How exactly she then made her way from Hymnalia to the Helldiver bar is unclear, but through a surprising knowledge of mixology, she plied her trade at the cross-dimensional bar and effectively made her home away from home there for some time. Indeed it looked like this might be where she finally settled down and found her rest...

...and then the Plumbers came knocking...

Universe of origin description: Hymnalia is a world where magic and technology, science and religion intertwine in Clarkean harmony. Home of the demon-like Felstari and the angel-like Serastra, despite biblical appearances life proceeds in a rough approximation of modern society, albeit now with an additional category to provoke discrimination. That said, there is a clear tendency for the Serastra to be in positions of political power, while the Felstari run the economic markets that make up the lifeblood of the world, but how much of this is biological and how much of this is the by-product of societal-level stereotyping forcing individuals into certain lifestyles is a topic of contentious debate.

Perk 1: Faster Than the Naked Eye - Val has a bonus to dodging attacks, can manipulate devices at a blink-and-you'll-miss-it rate, and cannot be surprised.
Perk 2: Electromagnetic Specter - Val can sense the entire electromagnetic spectrum including frequencies outside of the visible spectrum, and by exerting her will (and stamina), manipulate them to mask her visual presence.

Appearance: Heilwyn's features appear older than his years, beaten and cured by the countless battles in urban, jungle, winter, and desert warfare. His brown, almond eyes gleam brightly in his broad, blunt head with his jet hair shaved down to proper military regulations. One half of his face, from temple to chin, a twisted mess of puckered white flesh — the result of a fuel tank rupturing beside him and coating him in cleansing fire. He is large, barrel-chested with arms the size of marble columns and a body riven with scars like a sculptor took a chisel to a boulder and hammered incessantly. But despite his fearsome look, his eyes radiate a pleasant warmth, jovial, inviting to anyone who gazes long. His wide smile disarming with its cheerfulness.

Biography: Born in the backwater planet of the Solen Republics outer rim, Heilwyn grew up on the wheat fields of his family's farmlands. From dawn till dusk, from his tenderest years to his roughened teens, Heilwyn tilled the soil under the watchful eye of his father and uncles. He couldn't complain, in truth, he appreciated the work, but there was an inescapable feeling of wrongness, something he couldn't quite describe — perhaps it was that his skin sweated under the blistering sun, the ache in his bones that made it feel like he had been a foreigner in the midst of his family. His feelings sublimed subtly in his behaviour, resenting the limitations of his upbringing, until it came to a heated dispute. He abandoned the fastness of his family, enlisting in the intergalactic republic's army. He scored well on his aptitude exams, hemming him into the role of an EOD specialist almost immediately after his basic training. It was there that he discovered his admiration for fire, the dancing beauty of a coiling flame captivated the young Gale, often times he found himself unable to look away, losing himself as if in a trance. It was fortunate then, that he realised how demented his pyromania made him. He suppressed it, burying it deep within the dry, deep dirt of his mind.

With his training on his back, and a small portion of fortune, Heilwyn carved an acceptable military career of his life, fighting on a gamut of battlefields from the fibre-reinforced concrete peaks of cities, the snow-capped plains of uncivilised worlds, and the xeno-wildlife infested jungles to cold, airless interiors of a decompressed space ship.

Then it was gone. During a routine, long-distance journey through subspace, the SR's void frigate, Imminent Glory, suffered a catastrophic failure of its plasma electromagnetic field during the transition and was utterly devoured. Onboard, the crew prepared for the dire inevitable, Heilwyn did as well. As the metallic surface of the ship scraped the transdimensional membrane of reality, it flooded the men and women with a maddening, debilitating influence; terrors, migraines, vivid hallucinations, wounds rupturing across their bodies. Those closest to the surface vanished, swallowed entirely.

But when it came time for Heilwyn, his helmet connected with something immovable, and the darkness took him. He awoke in the shattered bones of the Glory. Half-mad from the catastrophe, with a strange comfort brought by the flame, his old affection for it unearthed and brought to the forefront.

The plumbers discovered him sitting in a circle of roaring flames. He was glad, however, to finally meet people.

Universe of origin description: It was a universe as fickle and shifting as the galactic winds. Dominated by eras of forlorn peace amidst the gleaming stars as well as multitudes of interplanetary, intergalactic wars of bloodied steel, ravenous fury, and atomic might. The Solen Republic, largest bastion of humanity's indomitable will, sought to make its supremacy omnipresent, unbeholden to the considerations of fledgling micro-governments, of human and alien alike. Advanced technologies and wicked weapons enabled their boundless ambitions, but always were the Republic's efforts frustrated by coalitions, rival superpowers, and the inexplicable. The Republic itself had been a peculiarity on the galactic scale, its origins forgotten centuries ago. To its people, Solen has existed since the dawn of humanity if the historical records are to be believed.

Perk 1: Kero-CRS Mk.IV — the Kero Combat Ready Suit is a bulky piece of military equipment outfitted with twin heavy flamers on both gauntlets, unleashing sheets of steel-melting fire upon anything caught in their wake (enemies take 1 DOT if they were caught by Heilwyn's flamethrower attack). Heilwyn has outfitted his Kero to alter the wargear's surface temperature, providing a nice font of heat during exceptionally chilly environments.

Perk 2: "Bombs? No problams." - Heilwyn is well-versed in the disarmament and safe disposal of explosive ordinance, whether conventional or unconventional.

Universe of origin description: Kingdoms, heroes, monsters - it was a realm filled with all manner of creatures and peoples. The world of Kaverot is a world of many opposites, as chaotic as it is orderly. The forces of good and evil fight constantly in a constant tug-of-war, with new threats arising and heroes to fight them all the time. It's what one might imagine of a typical fantasy setting, though this doesn't apply to the Murglites as they live in thatch huts on stilts near bodies of water and are content to live in small tribes away from the broader world. Slerk was among them as a youngling, happily spending days in joyful ignorance of the wider world at large. The Murglites were among many races that inhabit the world, though they took up a much less important role in it. Although, eventually, one would have to take up that mantle and be the most important Murglite to have ever existed...

Perk 1: Small and Squirmy Wins the Race - Slerk's small size and biology allows him to fit into very small spaces, and get around when needed unnoticed... if he doesn't get distracted by something shiny. He is a child after all.

Biography: In Sloan's timeline, the world that was Earth was slowly consumed by technology - not in the sense that mankind warred with machines, but rather, they embraced them, until the infiltration of artificial intelligence, android companions, and machine-assistance into every facet of human life gradually eroded mankind's appreciation for the natural world and its awareness for the human condition. The late 20th century through the middle of the 28th, when Sloan was born, saw a gradual slide of living conditions which ultimately made life inhospitable for organic lifeforms. Those who didn't retreat into virtual reality would tenuously cling on with the aid of cybernetic implants, or even full-robotic chassis, to augment or replace their fragile forms.

It is unsurprising, then, that the influence of technological development became the central focus of world geopolitics: a game which required both physical and cyber attacks to be fielded by the major players. Those who could escape the suffocating confines of their own brain and travel the net freely as cyber-ghosts were highly-prized by the global elite, and were often paid handsomely for their ability to seek, haunt, and kill their targets. No matter how secluded or well-protected the mark, the web was global and all-encompassing. It would only be a matter of time.

Sloan - sometimes a she, and sometimes a he, made a fortune from this life. A meticulous planner, they would always control their shell from afar, like a puppet, taking control of devices and providing paths of escape for when things went sideways. Destroying the mechanical body would only delay them; another would soon arrive, and again, and again, until the job was done. They always imagined that one day, they would retreat all the way up the chain, back to their true body. There, Sloan would take the money and pull the plug, leaving their masters forever guessing where the assassin had gone, forever unable to identify the Spectre.

That day never came.

Universe MX-68000077 was invaded by the Swarm. Their arrival and the wave of wanton destruction it caused led to the impossible: it crashed the net. Suddenly, the chains which linked Sloan back to safety were severed, and the omnipresent web of electronics which connected every space and human body was shattered into millions of little clusters. All Sloan could do amidst the chaos was to break their own rule, and fully-sync with an android body - the Steel Dancer. In this form, Sloan is always a "she." But after her rescue by the Citadel, Sloan quickly proved herself capable of probing the net of other timelines, where her skills might be put to use preventing the sort of disaster which disrupted her life.

Universe Description: The Swarm invasion was ultimately repelled, saving countless extra-terrestrial lives. MX-68000077's Earth, however, collapsed entirely following the destruction of the net. The human race could not endure the conditions which it had created through its total neglect of the environment, and without technology to fill the precariously-wide gap, there was no chance of the planet's salvation. Earth is a wasteland, a salvage-yard full of unattended machines, searching for directives from absent masters. Isolated servers play host to suddenly-underpopulated virtual spaces, where perpetually-trapped human minds have resigned themselves to their inevitable deaths.

Perk 1: Bodysnatcher - Given that Sloan has spent most of their life hopping from one vessel to the next, the differences between their body in one universe and the next are negligible, greatly improving their rolls for body-swapping with their alter-selves.

Perk 2: Ex Machina - Born into a world which had long since given up traditional concepts of religion, Sloan worships technology itself as god. They are highly resistant to the influence of angels and demons, and gain an advantage in rolls against them.

Biography:
Much of Noël's past comes from word of mouth, as there's no solid record, and most of it comes from Noël themselves. Born in the Lower Waterfront district of Dis in their home universe's Hell, they grew up mostly as a product of a bad household. As a teenager, they managed to escape things with the help of one of their older siblings. Setting out on their own, they aligned themselves as most demons of their universe do, settling on the principals of Pride. With a passion for music, they learned to play a variety of instruments and eventually formed a band with friends they had made on the streets of Dis.

Eventually, they came into contact with a retired succubus turned tailor by the name of Kassidy van Victrius. A simple request for clothing for their band turned into a continuing close friendship. It also lead to Noël becoming a frequent patron of the Helldiver bar, and a friendship with its owner and staff.

Noël had known of the Plumbers for quite a while. Long before the conversations at the Helldiver bar, or encounters with their universe's Angels and Reapers. An inter-dimensional task force, preventing universes and timelines from falling apart. They had even encountered a few of them long ago. So when they appeared and asked for a favor, Noël couldn't help but oblige.

It'd certainly make for good song material.

Universe of Origin Description:
Noël's universe (at least the Land of the Living) is not much different from our own, with a few alterations. Some events of our timeline just never happened in theirs, or happened differently enough to tweak a few things. Its Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory that are far different than what we've come to expect.

Heaven is corporate office-esque place full of overworked, miserable angels following the orders of snobbish Archangels. Gabriel leads things, as the 'Divine One' seemingly left a long time ago and placed the Archangels in charge of Heaven. Michael was originally in charge, but vanished as well after the banishment of Lucifer. At least souls that perish and go to Heaven still have their Paradise, as Heaven is just as beautiful as one would expect it to be, but at the cost of thousands of angels' sanity.

Hell is a modernized society, based off the world of the living. Cities dot Hell's landscape, with the capital of Dis being the grandest of it all. Here, the King of Hell rules alongside his Icons of Sin. Each Icon represents a different sin alignment, and tasks the demons that follow that alignment with punishing or recruiting from the souls of the damned. Demons aren't born into an alignment, usually; they choose what sin best represents their own wishes and traits. However, some demons acquire the alignment of their parents, if both are of the same alignment. The current King of Hell is not Lucifer, as Lucifer (like the Divine One and Michael) departed long ago to parts unknown in Hell. They gave control over Hell to their Icons, who passed it down over the years between their descendants and replacements.

Purgatory is the land of the souls waiting to be judged, and exists on a flat plane covered in an endless classical city like those of the Roman Empire. Here, the headquarters of the Reapers also exists. Reapers are gathered up from the living who show exceptional judgement, and are trained to collect the souls of the dead and dying to bring to Purgatory. They also settle disputes between Heaven and Hell, and solve any crimes between the two as well. A Reaper appearing in Hell or Heaven is a common occurrence, often dropping off souls or investigating leads.

Perk 1:

No Gods, No Masters
Acting alongside Noël seems to evoke a spirit of rebellion deep within, fighting back against outside forces attempting to contain or even end you. Your words are laced with an unnatural power and pride. In battle, the blood boils, the soul burns, and there will be hell to pay for those that try to stop you. Intimidation attempt chances are improved when in conversations while Noël is present, and in combat, those fighting alongside Noël gain a damage buff.

Perk 2:
You're Gonna Go Far, Kid

At times, Noël's voice seems to reinforce the mind and soul. When used, it grants those that hear it temporary health points. When allies take damage, the damage chips away at these temporary health points. Can only be used once in a battle.

Occupation: Homeless- Traveler. Technically an Outsider! Oh. . . oh no. . .
Biography: After the destruction of his universe, (again. . . again. . .) Peter Nettle and the last of his sanity (none lol) took a trip exploring the multiverse (again.) through legal, and illegal means. Some places he liked, some places he didn't.
One thing was for sure, he never stayed forever. He found out that, no matter where he went. No matter how long he stayed, he just couldn't replace. . . His true home. . .
The only constant thing left in his life, was him never staying,. Always moving. This place, the plumbers. Deep down. (well not really more like shallow.) He knew that this was just one of his stops. Why was he stuck here for the moment? Well it turns out this part of the multiverse didn't take kindly to some of his methods of, traveling. (Blackhole go boom. Or moob in this case. Or if you really want to get accurate ᙠ҉O҉O҉W҉) And now, he's been, "hired" (forced.) to be a consultant and plumber due to the vast knowledge he acquired during and before his travels. What's the knowledge before you ask? Well, he happens to have an uncommon in depth on the ground knowledge, on the subject of fading dying universes.

Universe of origin description: It was nice. While it still existed. It was a small universe. Nothing too special, some magic, a few beings of unimaginable power. But really, it was the people who lived there who made it special. Eli the Scribe. Noaidi the Seer. Mai the Bartender. . . And he himself. Peter Nettle. The completely normal swordsman. He missed them. . .
They say a country is not a place. But a people. If that's the case, then his country was completely obliterated.
Perk 1: Knowledge. That's it that's his perk. He knows certain things (too much really) that every now and then (a month or so) comes in useful! The catch? Some knowledge haunts him! Torments him even! Wow! What a useful thing to have!
Perk 2: Illusions! Being manipulate and trick all five senses! (no sixth sorry) He can make extremely convincing fake stuff! Fake people! Fake food! Fake pain! (under certain circumstances.) Fake stairs! Those are especially effective!

Biography: A biological monstrosity to some, and a miracle of engineering to others, Kher'as was nothing special in comparison to her mass-produced kin. Made as part of a supersoldier peacekeeping initiative on the outer rim, Kher'as was one of many myrmidons enlisted to Sector G-97. In her case, it was to fix stuff. Any stuff, really. Cars, tanks, planes, exosuits, people if she had the right parts. Yeah, they were mostly comprised of squishy stuff, but sometimes the things you ride in also had squishy things inside them too. "Neurocortexes" and the like that squealed a little too loud when you pushed your fingers into the pink parts. Made for great lubricant in a hurry, but not one she liked to use often.

The fact of the matter was that Kher'as wasn't supposed to be able to put those sorts of connections in her mind together at all. Myrmidions had a sort of emotional inhibitor and consciousness capacitor that limited how "hard" they were able to think. Hell, Kher'as wasn't even supposed to be able to communicate this to her superiors at all. Myrmidions didn't do more than click, chirp, and release pheromones, communications were usually handled by a splice-com, a walking talking petridish of universal translators. She spoke without moving her mandibles, only her thoughts.

Pretty quickly this led to her being pulled apart and put back together again, and again, and again, to see what made her tick. Any sort of psychic anything should've been impossible with the limiters put in, but this twilight state of being drugged enough to be awake and use her abilities, but not enough to comprehend the immense pain she was in wasn't going to last forever, or so she hoped. Imperial resources in Sector G-97 were being wasted on a single, short-lived bug, enough so that rebel forces were able to turn the tide in their favor. First on the ground, then in the naval battles, and when they finally reached a production station like the one Kher'as was on, they did what they always did: slaughter any sign of resistance.

So when the rebels were walking down the hall with the holding cells, opening them up just to fill the room with fire, she sensed their thoughts and waited for their angry voices to come closer, close enough for her to pounce with everything left she had. That was, until they were confused, and then silenced. Purpose filled the new voices, and she was greeted by the Plumbers, who had waited for just the right moment to recruit her.

Universe of Origin Description: Most of the universe was consumed in a galactic race for a mythical artifact known as the Cradle of Eden that effectively controlled both money and psychic power since the common currency was also the only known way to artificially enhance yourself without intrusive surgery: a dangerous and addictive circumstance to give yourself. Typically, warfare is conducted by the rich through disposable, mass-produced products: vehicles, weapons, and "people". Kher'as was just another wave of the recently created "Myrmidion" product, a cross between humanoid genes and the quick-growing Xhurkites, grotesque locust-like people. Most people don't really believe in the Cradle of Eden's existence, but with the discovery of one of its seven keys, there's never been more of an incentive to buy your own private army and take over a large sector of space so you can begin your search for any keys that might be located there, uninterrupted.

Perk 1:
Extrasensory Awareness.
Without a mouth to speak with, nor permission to look up from her work, Kher'as and her unique form of telepathy allows her to detect creatures with any form of consciousness with advantage, even without line of sight.

Perk 2:
Intrusive Thought.
Burrowing into the mind of a creature, she can implant a disturbing vision, thought, or idea into their brain, causing them to take psychic damage. With some exertion and an idea of what the creature's fears are, she can manifest that in their mind's eye as well, if not just forcing them to believe ants are crawling underneath their skin.

Biography:

You will be better than me. Better than all that I was.

These are the words that she found scrawled on the walls of a quiet little house on a mountaintop choked by fog. The nothing of the fog was reflected in her mind - empty, lifeless. There were echoes of something, but it was like grasping smoke; it leaked through her fingers and drifted away into the maw of eternity. No memory, no name - so the woman gave herself the name Ying.

Outside, the world seemed so familiar yet completely foreign. A disaster of some sort had befallen the Middle Kingdom, the land of her birth. A single cultivator had declared war on every single sect with the intent of killing all who resisted - there could only be one who could tread the path to heaven, the cultivator had proclaimed, and it would be them. The sects had not taken this proclamation lying down - but their blood feuds, their opportunism and sheer unwillingness to cooperate with those they deemed lesser - allowed this ‘Heavenly Demon’ to pick them apart and kill them all, one by bloody one. The final battle had been truly immense, annihilating the capital of the kingdom and seemingly killing the Heavenly Demon and her final opponents. But whatever energies had been unleashed in that battle had damned the world; reality seemed to be coming apart at the seams, slowly. Starting from the ruined capital, everything seemed to be sucked upwards into a black hole that swallowed everything and broke the sky and stars.

There was nothing people could do, now that the cultivators were all dead, but wait for the inevitable to come.

As she trod this ruined land being swallowed by the end, Ying helped out in little ways, never staying in one place for long. There were whispers on the wind, and she followed them to places that roused tiny little pieces of her broken memories. The truth nearly broke her: she was the Heavenly Demon. All this pain, misery and suffering that everyone was facing was because of her. Her and her undying wellspring of hatred against a world that had wronged her, battered her overweening pride.

And it was this shame, this gnawing darkness in her heart when the weight of her sins wrapped around her neck, that had caused her to perform a ritual that would ‘make a better her’. A little death that bloomed into true annihilation, wiping the slate clean for someone else.

From death, life. Ying was born; a shadow of the monster that bellowed a challenge to heaven and earth…

...one that would hopefully do better than HER, when the Plumbers arrived.

Universe Description: A world of bloody, savage and often pointless cruelty. The Middle Kingdom is divided into sects that war with each other over centuries-long blood feuds, prestige or doctrinal differences. Man has the capability to ‘cultivate’ energy, called ‘qi’, and use it to strengthen oneself. Given enough time and practice, one can even become immortal. This cycle is only perpetuated by some seemingly inherent lust for power that drives the actions of all who embark on the path of cultivator. Those who do not stride the path are run over by their ‘betters’, who treat the peasantry as one would treat a peddle on the road. Murders for not showing respect to a cultivator are so common that non-cultivators barely blink when showered in gore from particularly unlucky individuals.

In the aftermath of the Heavenly Demon’s apocalyptic rampage across the Middle Kingdom, an Outsider had plucked a few cultivators for their amusement, breaking reality in the process. These few would be the ones to create a sect with the radical philosophy of caring for those who did not walk on the path of cultivation, beginning a new age for the Middle Kingdom.

Perk 1: Echoes of the Old War - The Ritual of Self-Annihilation killed the Heavenly Demon, but years upon years of slaughter has carved that skill into the marrow and bones of her body. The body Ying now occupies.

Perk 2: Whispers on the Wind - Perhaps it is a figment of her imagination, or a remnant of her once prodigious qi that was ruined by the Ritual. Ying can seemingly intuit things she shouldn’t with minimal information, plucking an answer from thin air or pointing things out that she had no idea was there.

Biography: Kiriko comes from a long lineage of warriors, who have all served as the muscle of the ruling emperor of Japan. The Okuda clan was well-known name throughout the lands, and hearing that just one of them was coming to your home village brought the feelings of anticipation, suspense... and sometimes fear. For Kiriko, she was the family's first female warrior, and undoubtedly their strongest at the time. Despite many efforts from her mother to raise her daughter to be a conservative future house wife, Kirko's interests were captured by the blade, spending many of her childhood days watching her brothers train with their father.

Unfortunately, she was born during a time of war. As soon as she was of age, she was thrown into the frontlines, leading others into battle. She never had the opportunity to enjoy the other aspects of life, and what little downtime she did have was spent planning for the next fight. However, hope remained in her that the fighting would soon be over and that she could rest.

That never came. Bested by another warrior on the battlefield, Kiriko laid on the ground. Blood ran down the sides of her stomach, her hand loosely covering the wound as her strength was rapidly leaving her body. The light faded as her vision went dark.

Then she woke up.


Universe of origin: 11th century Japan, the height of feudalism. However, in this universe, a war between clans broke out, with some banding together to denounce the throne and usurp the current emperor. The remaining clans loyal to the throne formed a similar army under the imperial banner, and since then the land was locked in what seemed like a never-ending war. During Kirko's time, the emperor's forces had begun making process at driving out the insurrection and bringing the war's end closer, but a new development completely changed things. A group of Outsiders provided the rebelling clans with new weapons that were no match for the primitive iron and steel blades others wielded. With a thunderous bang, gunfire rained down. It was hundreds of years too early for flintlock rifles to be introduced, which caused this timeline to fracture. Kiriko was one of those that was caught off guard and subsequently shot in the stomach. However, the Plumbers were quick to intervene, extracting her out and bringing her to the Citadel.

Perk 1: Vantage - Years of military training and exposure have hardened Kirko's reflexes in battle. She cannot be caught off guard, always blocking the first attack made against her and immediately follows up

Perk 2: Weapon Mastery - Kiriko's training has made her deadly with a katana, as well as a bow an arrow. But she can also learn how to use new weapons pretty quickly. When using a weapon she's mastered, she gets a damage bonus to all her attacks.
