You know, I've been thinking and "Don't make your character overpowered" is a pretty bad rule. Not in that its bad to put power limits on characters for the sake of the setting and enjoyment, but its vague and undefined. I think if you want to keep characters at a certain power level, you need to take into consideration what that means and more clearly lay that out rather than just say "Don't be overpowered, guys."

Oh totally. And if you're in a 1x1 with a partner you really vibe with, I've learned that this isn't a rule you even need to instate. My partner and I made actual god characters to screw with our main cast, and it didn't really matter cause we were both on the same page on what we wanted out of the RP.
You could theoretically do this with a group too, but I mean... the more people, the more likely it'll be that someone will have an issue with the direction of a story and blow it all up, lol.
