It's nothing noteworthy. Neither in the top nor bottom in the rankings, no super strict principals or even grossly terrible teachers. Its high school department is also pretty average with the usual clubs... at least on the surface.

Clubs are required for all three of a student's high school years. Most join the easier ones like art, science or even home economics. But if you ask the school's seniors, they'll tell you to avoid the gardening club at all costs. Rumors surround the club that range from blackmailing teachers, to the greenhouse being haunted by a frustrated former student. No one knows if there's even any truth to these stories, but based on the members, it may be better to err to the side of caution.


This roleplay follows the adventures of the Hokusei Gardening Club. Unlike their name, the members rarely actually do anything related to flora and fauna. They mostly use the school greenhouse and attached shed to hang out.

Most of the characters will have an attached stigma. It can be some nasty rumor or a personality quirk that prevents them from making friends with others. As a result, they mostly hang out with each other. After all, misery loves company.

Being pretty always fuelled that belief, as did her parents assuring it to win her over after their divorce. One of the many stars of the school, Touma had rested comfortably at the top with his club. They were perfect in the eyes of those who admired them, from their charming smiles, high marks, and stunning athleticism, this club seemed to only contain the best students. Just being accepted into the club put him in the spotlight and as someone who lived to be the center of attention, he'd do anything to stay in it. Even if it meant getting a little dirty at times, like covering up for each other when a perfect student has a little oopsie.
For the most part, it was harmless, just personal slipups that would be an embarrassment to themselves and the club and they couldn't taint their reputation. Touma didn't completely agree with these coverups and some of the "whoopsies" were far from little. He drew the line when his club had gone too far with this, and he refused to stay quiet about it.
The club advisor tried to talk him out of reporting the incident, something Touma had no intentions of following so the two had a bit of a "heated argument". That same argument led to a fist flying into the advisor's face at the worst moment possible (their discussion was no longer between them when the punch was thrown). Nonetheless, he was kicked out and despite the act of violence, Touma didn't receive much punishment. He also didn't have much to say about the incident, not even to the person closet to him.

But as time passed and peer pressure intensified, Kasumi allowed it to control her. She grew tired of constantly being either looked down or not even looked at all. The insignificance she felt from others pushed her to put down others. It's a cowardly way to push her way up the popularity pyramid, but it's quick to come to her tongue.

Additional Information

Kasumi has much concern over her self-image which increases her drive to pick out the flaws of others around her. With observant eyes and a sharp tongue, Kasumi is slick with condescending facts and corrupting one's self-esteem. She looks back to her past bullyings and projects out stronger emotions onto others. The girl is more fierce with her insults since she will only dish out facts and perhaps dirty secrets she has learn of others. Kasumi will never resort to spitting out lame disses on say clothing or appearance, rather she looks onto the unspoken opinions that classmates have of others and uses that to her advantage.
This wasn't the usual course of behavior for Kasumi until she met a particular bully in junior high. Kasumi can remember her as someone who she idolized at first. She found her to be a cool person since the individual was nice to her at first. But that was because she was an exchange student who was not aware of the social standing Kasumi was in. It was all pleasantries and the start of a great friendship for Kasumi and the exchange student, Anna, until the popular folks of Hokusei Junior High realized Anna's potential for popularity. The girl in fact was great at sports, academics, and a great leader. But like any other junior high student, she wanted to fit in. And the popular kids tempted her with an easy path for conformity. The ticket for her entry into the cool kids club was to dump Kasumi, and in the most brutal fashion she could. So Anna did just that with a humiliating prank in the girl's locker room. Kasumi was in the middle of changing when Anna managed to steal away her clothes and hide them for some time before she told Kasumi where she hid them, and the hiding place wasn't any easy area to reach. It ended up in the boy's locker room. This was the worst prank pulled onto Kasumi, and the last straw to her torture.
Anna ended up becoming a popular kid and Kasumi still remained as a target. But not for long. Kasumi changed after that event, cutting her long hair out of anger, sadness, and heartache. She had thought of Anna as a friend, so much so that it could have even been defined as a crush. So Kasumi wanted to have the same short hair that Anna had, despite all the hate she had for her now. The next time Kasumi encountered Anna she managed to damage her reputation by spilling out a secret of the exchange student, and it was that Anna liked girls. Afterwards Kasumi continued to lash out at others, starting with those who bullied her countless times and anyone else around her. She lost any trust and respect she had for others since the person she had trusted the most abandoned her. So out of defending herself and her dignity, Kasumi decides to erect a barrier around her. But this barrier is not always steady. A single person who can truly reach down and touch the barrier can see that it can be broken easily with all its flaws and vulnerabilities.


New Idea

Kasumi Aoki, a name not often heard or said amidst her peers. There was nothing remarkable about Kasumi that stood out. She was rather mediocre. Which didn't help that the young girl often lied low during school events and trips. She didn't want to outwardly broadcast to people that she wanted attention when in truth she yearned for it. Reason for the hypocrisy is that she didn't want the attention of others solely for the association of her sister, Sakura Aoki. Often the ones who did approach her wanted to know something about Sakura or even try to contact her because of her popularity. Sakura Aoki was that star child, like in the anime, with great looks, stellar grades, admirable athleticism, and friendly demeanor. She was the perfect girl.

To add to the situation, Kasumi is a middle child so she often was not heard and rather criticized and commanded. She had personal goals and ambitions that were squished under her older sister's activities. Her parents often placed them together into the same activities because of their closeness of age, being 20 months apart. Then on the other end her younger brother was simply spoiled. Just because he was the youngest, a boy, and a survivor from a difficult birth.

Being left in the middle where there's no chance of receiving any attention from her parents and then not really being noticed in school, Kasumi's desire for attention began to turn into desperation. Through her desperation came anger to where she made her first lash out at a classmate. The attention it brought her fed her. Everyone finally saw that is was Kasumi Aoki doing something, not Sakura Aoki. It fueled her to do more. Which then came to when she entered high school. Her older sister was still excelling in her grade but Kasumi became petty and began to put down others since she had no self-esteem of her own and wanted to simply tarnish a bit of her sister's reputation without really keeping her own in mind. But having her reputation to be known as a bitch didn't bother Kasumi. In fact she decided to stick to it since it was bringing attention to her from not only her peers but her parents as well, plus she felt that if her sister was not going to be true to herself, then Kasumi might as well embody it for her. If she must become petty then so be it.[/div]
