“Hey! You heard about a site called the Carrion Club? It’s this new creepypasta site that’s getting a lot of attention right now. There’s all these gross images that’s supposedly taken from real crime scenes and have stories that makes you piss your pants from fright. You don’t believe me? I’ll give you the address and you check it out yourself. You’ll see!”

One of the latest crazes right now is a mysterious website with a reputation for being vile. The Carrion Club appears to be just like any message board with horror stories and strange images uploaded to the site. But, there’s more to it than meets the eye. A particular section stands out with the story of the “Carrion Club Membership” program. Numerous posts and article are dedicated to rumors mills and stories about the story.

Basically, the rumor is about the Carrion Club website sending out private invitations to those that have lurked or contributed to the website for a while. An email is sent to their primary email address with the subject titled “You Are Invited” (or something similar along those lines). The sender is always anonymous with no way to verify who sent it. It looks like any old spam that fills up an inbox. Except, the email can’t be deleted permanently. No matter how much the recipient tries to delete the message, it resends immediately. Even if the message is left unread, the user is sent countless emails with the same subject. Reporting the message as spam only worsens the situation, filling up all of your email accounts and becomes a text message with the very same title as the subject. Trying to access the message when you’re around others is impossible, making the message “unclickable.” The only way for the email to be accessed is if the recipient is alone, in their room, and is late at night (supposedly).

If the user accesses the email… they die!

How the recipient dies varies from story to story. Some say that a creepy shadowed-figured pops out from behind and steals your soul. A few ends the story on a bloody and grotesque. The most common ending has the email link the user to a video. Whatever is depicted in the video causes them to die from fright. However, there’s more to the ending. For those that receive and open the email are memorialized on the Carrion Club website. Their story appears in an article along with their full name and username added to the public member list on the same day they die!

Scary, huh? This is just one of many popular creepypastas hosted on the Carrion Club website.

One of the more infamous articles on the Carrion Club website tells about a serious crime that took place in an old apartment building in Yokohama. About seven years ago, the police were called to investigate the deaths of two teenagers. They concluded that it was a murder/suicide with the main motive being some sort of occult ritual. The incident left a bad history in the building, leaving the original owner no choice but to sell the property. It was demolished afterwards, erasing the bloody history from sight. A modernized apartment building stood in its place. The scariest part about this article? It’s all true! There was a strange homicide case and a new building was built in its place.

Fuji Residence remains as an attraction for the occult obsessed and fans of the Carrion Club.

Fuji Residence is your average, run of the mill apartment building in Yokohama. The residence varies from small families to troublemakers that keep their business to themselves… or so they believe. Gossip runs rampant throughout the complex, ranging as something as simple as an expected child and to something as complicated as an extramarital affair. Some rumors, however, lingers on just about everyone’s mind. Like, when new neighbors catch their attention or others “disappear.”

A few are convinced that something is off with the building itself. The elevator is always on the fritz, the security system’s buggy, and no one’s allowed to venture down to the basement without permission. Even the newly placed curfew seems off. They claim that the place is haunted by the spirits of the murderer and the victim (if they’re familiar with the story on Carrion Club).

To sum it up, the story revolves around twenty tenants in Fuji Residence that range in age, occupation, and living situation. At the beginning, the majority of the cast is separated and have no connection to what happens for six minutes during the midnight hour. Through circumstances, some of the cast members are thrown into this world and must find a way to stay alive and return to their previous life. Soon, a mystery unravels that brings the cast together to figure out what’s going on and what’s causing this phenomenon. But, watch out! Some of your tenants may wind up getting caught up in the other world! It’s up to you to save them!

SETTING: YOKOHAMA

Yokohama is the capital city of Kanagawa Prefecture and the second largest city in Japan by population after Tokyo. It lies on Tokyo Bay, south of Tokyo, in the Kantō region of the main island of Honshu. It is a major commercial hub of the Greater Tokyo Area. Yokohama's population of 3.7 million makes it Japan's largest incorporated city. Yokohama had been the world's largest suburb until the formation of New Taipei.

There will be PoI, image links, and small blurbs for most information in regards to the setting. The starting date has yet to be set.

SETTING: FUJI RESIDENCE

Fuji Residence is located in central Yokohama in one of the residential districts. The surrounding area is modernized with most of the buildings being less than ten years old. Out of the other apartment complexes and condominiums, Fuji is one of the tallest with thirteen floors. Inside, the interior is modern with glass doors and massive panes of glass to allow natural light in. There are 2 elevators next to one another that go to the upper levels of the building. Between the two elevators is an analog clock. The fire escape is located on the north side of the building and is accessed from all floors. Alarms will go off if triggered, but recent problems with vandalism has caused the door alarms to malfunction.

The floors in Fuji are numbered between 2 and 14. The 4th floor is labeled as “Maintenance” and the 9th floor is labeled as the tenth floor. Both the number 4 and 9 are omitted for its double meaning and superstition. Fuji’s landlord and his family reside in the 2nd floor of the building. On each floor, there are 8 units that range in size from a “one room mansion” (studio) to 4 bedrooms. The interior varies from Western style to traditional depending on the tenant's choice and price range. There is a parking garage behind Fuji Residence that is exclusively for the tenants.. Tenets aren’t allowed on the 4th floor and in the basement without permission.

Along with the fire alarm on the fritz, there are other problems in Fuji. Sometimes, the elevator breaks down and trapping the occupant(s) for a while or the door catches a limb or bag before the occupant fully enters the elevator. The security system acts up from an unknown cause. When midnight rolls around, the key card lock turns off, making it impossible to enter or exit the building for 6 minutes. No matter how many technicians come out, the problem is never solved. Replacing the system only lasts for a few days before the problem returns. Unlike other apartments, Fuji Residence has a curfew in place that keeps the building locked from public access after hours. Between 9pm and 6am, all doors leading into the building cannot be unlocked without a key card.

SETTING: OTHERWORLD

When the clock strikes midnight, the interior of Fuji Residence undergoes a drastic change. It warps and twists into a darker version of the apartment. Black, grimy stains splatter the walls. All windows are blacked out and covered up, making it near impossible to view the outside world. The entrance is omitted as if it never existed in the first place. Lights and plugged in devices don’t work in this realm or doesn’t exist at all.

Both elevators shift from their original appearance to that of an older prototype with metal gates locking in place. Between the elevators is a massive, Gothic clock. Both hands on the clock start out at the 12 mark and ticks off until the little hand touches 12 and the big hand returns to 12. Access to the elevator is restricted due to a lock. If someone has a “key,” they would be able to use the elevators. The buttons in the interior are labeled strangely. With basement button ripped from the panel.

The majority of the units cannot be accessed in this realm; they locked or boarded up. Certain portals appear to replace the entryway of certain units if someone is trapped in the Otherworld. Voices, shouting, music, and other similar noises of activates can be heard within the halls but the source is unknown.

For six hours (Otherworld time), this version of Fuji exists until the Gothic clock strikes 6. Reality returns within the building as if nothing happens. Time is restored as usual promptly at 12:06am.

During the transformation, most of the occupants in the building undergo a form of stasis. They are frozen in place and appear as statues. Interacting with them is impossible. When reality returns, they go about their business as usual, wondering where that short time went. There are those not affected by the change and are temporarily trapped in the warped version of Fuji… if they’re not bound within. In order to return safely from the Otherworld, the active tenant must return to their own apartment (or remain inside) until the duration of the Otherworld Expires.

The predominant life within this altered reality is the Shadows. They appear as black grotesque, blob creatures with a mask somewhere in the mass. Quite a few can take an entirely different form, ranging from something relatable such as a humanoid figure or animalistic. Or… could be something beyond the conception of imagination. They are highly dangerous and act on the phases of the moon. As the moon wanes, the shadows pacifies. When the moon waxes, however, they get aggressive. When the moon is full, they attack just about anything active at night. If someone is trapped in this world, they can be relatively safe… until the full moon. They are most likely to die because of behavior of the shadows.

This is just a rough draft of rules for the thread. Rules will include information on the profile, writing structure, and whatever mierda I need to make stuff make sense. Links and examples will be provided in this section as well.

First and foremost: yes, all the information in the application is needed. I am looking for users that commit themselves to filling out the monstrous profile with all the details I require. It helps cements them and makes the character crystal clear. To fill out the application in its entirety shows how much you want to be in the thread and follow through to the very end. I doubt users would take on a giant profile halfheartedly. It’s best to have all the information saved in a word doc (you don’t need to copy the coding over either). Copying the application coding into your test thread is another thing I recommend. You will see me repeat this throughout the rules, but don’t be afraid to ask questions! I want to help all I can in creating the right cast and plot for everyone.

See the example layout of what the profiles will look like in the character profile section? Don’t worry about that! You will be using the profile application coding for your character. The coding will be located in the character profile section.

Make sure that you have RTE (rich text editor) turned off. Here’s a link of how to do that.

SECRET /ˈsēkrit/ ● adjective & noun

Secrets, secrets, and secrets! If you hadn’t guessed yet, the thread RELIES on secrecy among the different cast members. For all characters (NPCs or otherwise), there must be at least 1 BIG secret that they don’t dare let anyone know. This secret must be something they struggle with and relate to their arcana, shadow form and level, and persona. Please make sure that all of the information collaborates and works together around this secret and the aftermath of it being revealed (i.e. after defeating a character’s shadow form and accepting the truth/gain a persona). If you need help forming a secret and all the information that goes with this, feel free to PM me.

ELUDE /ēˈlo͞od/ ● verb

In the profile, you will see this word repeated over and over again. For this thread, secrets, facades, and mysteries is the central to the plot and development. The same theme will apply to the public profiles. There will be “incomplete,” vague, and omitted information that everyone can see. BUT, I need all of the information in your application. I need to know what exactly you’re planning for your character so I can prepare and set up the scenario that will affect the rest of the cast (via dungeon crawling and boss fight). I also want to make sure that there isn’t a repeat in similar background and theme for each character. It is a lot to ask, but I would like certain sections to be written twice.

An example is the background information. For certain information that pertains to one/all of the character’s main secrets, it is a give in that the information is revealed in this part. But, that would give away all the mystery. So, for parts that pertain to the secret, there will also be an alternative section that will be vague information that doesn’t give away a whole lot of information. If you need help with writing vague/eluding information, please let me know! I will gladly lend a hand to help craft the right level of “sus” for the profile.

For hotlinking images, upload your images to an image hosting website (such as TinyPic, Imgur (be warned that they could be deleted, Photobucket, or UltraIMG). Right click the image or search for optional fields for hotlinking images (must end with something like .jpeg, .png, or .gif). Personas in this thread can come from the franchise or original. If they are original, they still must come from an existing lore, legend, mythos, etc. with backed up information on their existence (the lazy route of wikipedia works). The information about the persona(s) is just a way to make sure we have variety and show growth/progression with each character. This information can be found via the Megami Tensei Wikia. For the most part, the stat information will be available from the franchise (we will be using information from Persona 4. If a persona wasn’t carried over in 4, use Persona 3 information). Inherit - What element is the persona? The following is the “elements” from the franchise: fire, wind, earth, water, electricity, ice, light, and dark. A persona may not have an inherited element.
Reflects - What element does a persona reflect and damage the enemy? Keep in mind that this section should either have one repel (if it’s the opposite element as their inherit) or be reserved for their final form. If a persona doesn’t have an element, they can reflect physical attacks.
Absorbs - What element does a persona absorb and heal up? Similiar to reflect, it should be to the same element as their inherit. This section should be exclusively for the final persona. If a persona doesn’t have an element, they can reflect physical attacks.
Block - What element does a persona block aka nullify? It should be pertained to their Inherit element OR it could block physical attacks (if they have no inherit element). This will only apply to initial personas if they have no element or if they are light/dark. Final personas can have block an element (at least light or dark if they already reflect or absorb an element).
Resists - What element does a persona resist? This means that a persona can still get damaged from said element, but it won’t be as bad in terms of damage. Usually, some initial personas can start with resisting their opposite element. Resisting light or dark means there’s a lower chance of instant death. You can also resist physical (and still have an element).
Weak - What element(s) is your persona weak against? Weakness comes from opposite elements (or physical). Final Personas tend to grow out of their weakness (but not all the time). (include a list when finished)

Skills are the moves a persona has during a fight. Skills comes in a long range of elements, physical attacks, support, and healing. All initial personas will have the weakest forms with a maximum of 4 skills. As the thread progresses, users have an opportunity to evolve their skills and gain more. Skills should match with the rest of the information. For instance, a fire-based persona with ice skills is a big no-no. Rules regarding “leveling progression” is located in Posting. This is a link to Persona 4 skills. You are free to borrow and use other skills from any of the other persona games. Make sure to link me where you got said skill.

There is all but one limit on characters. All I ask is that characters can be “somewhat” realistic for a fictional setting. This means that I don’t want to see the usual Mary Sues and Gary Stus with similar backgrounds as everyone else and achieving a greater rate of experience as a child. I also don’t want everyone coming from a broken household aka no parents/foster care. I want characters to have somewhat believable scenarios without going beyond ridiculous (like a someone becoming a teacher at the age of 20). Everything else, though, is on the table. Age range. Gender. Ethnicity (as long as you explain their situation such as someone having a visa or their parents moved to Japan before they were born). Variety is the space of life. However, I will not crack down on gender ratios. If there’s more girls than boys or more kids than adults, that’s alright. It’ll be the direction of the thread.

Each character will have an assigned arcana to them. Simply, just choose 1 of 20 applicable arcana. Once an arcana is taken, no one else can have it. There will be a checklist in the overview section of what is and isn’t applicable.

ALL CHARACTERS MUST BE BASED AROUND THEIR ARCANA. It makes sense to take the traits of the card and what they represent to build a character around them. I don’t want to see a character having the traits/background of one type of arcana and submit it as another arcana. What I am willing to handle is the user’s interpretation of said arcana. If I ask about it, it’s because I want to understand where you came from.

The following is a detail thread. The minimum posting size is 3 paragraphs with legible grammar and content. Events allows users to choose to work together or separate in order to complete shadow levels and complete the objectives. There will be RNG moments to determine the reaction/consequences of a character(s) act in the world (that may or may not affect the whole group as a whole). If you cannot be regularly active during an event, please let me know in the OoC. I will be able to work around. Interacting in these shadow levels does affect your character. For each level successfully completed, users go up 5 levels. Those that participate in the boss fight will gain an additional two levels. This is for the sake of unlocking new skills and what not to show progress in the thread.

Free Roam Mode is the break in between shadow levels (and bosses). Characters are free to interact in the setting, with NPCs, and with one another to progress their own development, figure out the mysterious in the thread, and…. (dun dun dun) gain social link levels! As silly as it sounds, characters have the ability to earn these points in order to receive their final persona. Gaining a social link occurs in Free Roam Mode and can reach a maximum of 2 levels during this time. In order to gain points, characters must interact with one another and slowly come to in terms of their secret. Characters can start gaining social link levels before their shadow level starts (in order to keep everyone from falling behind). It just means that they must keep their secret in the shadows. If someone has a high social link level when their shadow level starts, it’s possible for the character to accept their shadow form without a boss fight occurring.

Treat everyone as you want to be treated. There is a zero tolerance in fighting in the OoC.

The thread will have a linear plot line for the characters to figure out the mystery of apartment, and what’s going down? What’s going on? Well, you’ll just have to see! Whether you work together or on your own, it’s up to you, the users, to figure out what’s up. I’ll have two characters to help (or throw curve balls) along the way. There will be times of free roam for characters to relax, investigate, or mess around before the events of the Otherworld starts up all over again.

“Hey! You heard about a site called the Carrion Club? It’s this new creepypasta site that’s getting a lot of attention right now. There’s all these gross images that’s supposedly taken from real crime scenes and have stories that makes you piss your pants from fright. You don’t believe me? I’ll give you the address and you check it out yourself. You’ll see!”

One of the latest crazes right now is a mysterious website with a reputation for being vile. The Carrion Club appears to be just like any message board with horror stories and strange images uploaded to the site. But, there’s more to it than meets the eye. A particular section stands out with the story of the “Carrion Club Membership” program. Numerous posts and article are dedicated to rumors mills and stories about the story.

Basically, the rumor is about the Carrion Club website sending out private invitations to those that have lurked or contributed to the website for a while. An email is sent to their primary email address with the subject titled “You Are Invited” (or something similar along those lines). The sender is always anonymous with no way to verify who sent it. It looks like any old spam that fills up an inbox. Except, the email can’t be deleted permanently. No matter how much the recipient tries to delete the message, it resends immediately. Even if the message is left unread, the user is sent countless emails with the same subject. Reporting the message as spam only worsens the situation, filling up all of your email accounts and becomes a text message with the very same title as the subject. Trying to access the message when you’re around others is impossible, making the message “unclickable.” The only way for the email to be accessed is if the recipient is alone, in their room, and is late at night (supposedly).

If the user accesses the email… they die!

How the recipient dies varies from story to story. Some say that a creepy shadowed-figured pops out from behind and steals your soul. A few ends the story on a bloody and grotesque. The most common ending has the email link the user to a video. Whatever is depicted in the video causes them to die from fright. However, there’s more to the ending. For those that receive and open the email are memorialized on the Carrion Club website. Their story appears in an article along with their full name and username added to the public member list on the same day they die!

Scary, huh? This is just one of many popular creepypastas hosted on the Carrion Club website.

One of the more infamous articles on the Carrion Club website tells about a serious crime that took place in an old apartment building in Yokohama. About seven years ago, the police were called to investigate the deaths of two teenagers. They concluded that it was a murder/suicide with the main motive being some sort of occult ritual. The incident left a bad history in the building, leaving the original owner no choice but to sell the property. It was demolished afterwards, erasing the bloody history from sight. A modernized apartment building stood in its place. The scariest part about this article? It’s all true! There was a strange homicide case and a new building was built in its place.

Fuji Residence remains as an attraction for the occult obsessed and fans of the Carrion Club.

Fuji Residence is your average, run of the mill apartment building in Yokohama. The residence varies from small families to troublemakers that keep their business to themselves… or so they believe. Gossip runs rampant throughout the complex, ranging as something as simple as an expected child and to something as complicated as an extramarital affair. Some rumors, however, lingers on just about everyone’s mind. Like, when new neighbors catch their attention or others “disappear.”

A few are convinced that something is off with the building itself. The elevator is always on the fritz, the security system’s buggy, and no one’s allowed to venture down to the basement without permission. Even the newly placed curfew seems off. They claim that the place is haunted by the spirits of the murderer and the victim (if they’re familiar with the story on Carrion Club).

TLR: To sum it up, the story revolves around twenty tenants in Fuji Residence that range in age, occupation, and living situation. At the beginning, the majority of the cast is separated and have no connection to what happens for six minutes during the midnight hour. Through circumstances, some of the cast members are thrown into this world and must find a way to stay alive and return to their worked. Soon, a mystery unravels that brings the cast together to figure out what’s going on and what’s causing this phenomenon. But, watch out! Some of your tenants may wind up getting caught up in the Otherworld! It’s up to you to save them!

PROFILE RULES

First and foremost: yes, all the information in the application is needed. I am looking for users that commit themselves to filling out the monstrous profile with all the details I require. It helps cements them and makes the character crystal clear. To fill out the application in its entirety shows how much you want to be in the thread and follow through to the very end. I doubt users would take on a giant profile halfheartedly. It’s best to have all the information saved in a word doc (you don’t need to copy the coding over either). Copying the application coding into your test thread is another thing I recommend. You will see me repeat this throughout the rules, but don’t be afraid to ask questions! I want to help all I can in creating the right cast and plot for everyone.

Secrets, secrets, and secrets! If you hadn’t guessed yet, the thread RELIES on secrecy among the different cast members. For all characters (NPCs or otherwise), there must be at least 1 BIG secret that they don’t dare let anyone know. This secret must be something they struggle with and relate to their arcana, shadow form and level, and persona. Please make sure that all of the information collaborates and works together around this secret and the aftermath of it being revealed (i.e. after defeating a character’s shadow form and accepting the truth/gain a persona). In the profile, you will see this word repeated over and over again. For this thread, secrets, facades, and mysteries is the central to the plot and development. The same theme will apply to the public profiles. There will be “incomplete,” vague, and omitted information that everyone can see. BUT, I need all of the information in your application. I need to know what exactly you’re planning for your character so I can prepare and set up the scenario that will affect the rest of the cast (via dungeon crawling and boss fight). I also want to make sure that there isn’t a repeat in similar background and theme for each character. It is a lot to ask, but I would like certain sections to be written twice.

An example is the background information. For certain information that pertains to one/all of the character’s main secrets, it is a give in that the information is revealed in this part. But, that would give away all the mystery. So, for parts that pertain to the secret, there will also be an alternative section that will be vague information that doesn’t give away a whole lot of information. If you need help with writing vague/eluding information, please let me know! I will gladly lend a hand to help craft the right level of “sus” for the profile.

PERSONA INFORMATION FOR PROFILE

Personas in this thread can come from the franchise or original. If they are original, they still must come from an existing lore, legend, mythos, etc. with backed up information on their existence (the lazy route of wikipedia works). The information about the persona(s) is just a way to make sure we have variety and show growth/progression with each character. This information can be found via the Megami Tensei Wikia. For the most part, the stat information will be available from the franchise (we will be using information from Persona 4. If a persona wasn’t carried over in 4, use Persona 3 information). For OC personas, the following information is for the stat section of the application:

Inherit - What element is the persona? The following is the “elements” from the franchise: fire, wind, earth, water, electricity, ice, light, and dark. A persona may not have an inherited element.
Reflects - What element does a persona reflect and damage the enemy? Keep in mind that this section should either have one repel (if it’s the opposite element as their inherit) or be reserved for their final form. If a persona doesn’t have an element, they can reflect physical attacks.
Absorbs - What element does a persona absorb and heal up? Similiar to reflect, it should be to the same element as their inherit. This section should be exclusively for the final persona. If a persona doesn’t have an element, they can reflect physical attacks.
Block - What element does a persona block aka nullify? It should be pertained to their Inherit element OR it could block physical attacks (if they have no inherit element). This will only apply to initial personas if they have no element or if they are light/dark. Final personas can have block an element (at least light or dark if they already reflect or absorb an element).
Resists - What element does a persona resist? This means that a persona can still get damaged from said element, but it won’t be as bad in terms of damage. Usually, some initial personas can start with resisting their opposite element. Resisting light or dark means there’s a lower chance of instant death. You can also resist physical (and still have an element).
Weak - What element(s) is your persona weak against? Weakness comes from opposite elements (or physical). Final Personas tend to grow out of their weakness (but not all the time). (include a list when finished)

Skills are the moves a persona has during a fight. Skills comes in a long range of elements, physical attacks, support, and healing. All initial personas will have the weakest forms with a maximum of 4 skills. As the thread progresses, users have an opportunity to evolve their skills and gain more. Skills should match with the rest of the information. For instance, a fire-based persona with ice skills is a big no-no. Rules regarding “leveling progression” is located in Posting. This is a link to Persona 4 skills. You are free to borrow and use other skills from any of the other persona games. Make sure to link me where you got said skill.

The following is the information of what element opposes (weak) to one another. I borrowed most of the information from the latest main Persona game release (Persona 4) and added additional elements for variety:

I understand this may not make sense, but this is the final conclusion I came to without going insane. Please don't ask why I decided that this is the way things are because the information as to why is in this section.

YOKOHAMA, JAPAN

Yokohama is the capital city of Kanagawa Prefecture and the second largest city in Japan by population after Tokyo. It lies on Tokyo Bay, south of Tokyo, in the Kantō region of the main island of Honshu. It is a major commercial hub of the Greater Tokyo Area. Yokohama's population of 3.7 million makes it Japan's largest incorporated city. Yokohama had been the world's largest suburb until the formation of New Taipei.

FUJI RESIDENCE

Fuji Residence is located in central Yokohama in one of the residential districts. The surrounding area is modernized with most of the buildings being less than ten years old. Out of the other apartment complexes and condominiums, Fuji is one of the tallest with thirteen floors. Inside, the interior is modern with glass doors and massive panes of glass to allow natural light in. There are 2 elevators next to one another that go to the upper levels of the building. Between the two elevators is an analog clock. The fire escape is located on the north side of the building and is accessed from all floors. Alarms will go off if triggered, but recent problems with vandalism has caused the door alarms to malfunction.

The floors in Fuji are numbered between 2 and 14. The 4th floor is labeled as “Maintenance” and the 9th floor is labeled as the tenth floor. Both the number 4 and 9 are omitted for its double meaning and superstition. Fuji’s landlord and his family reside in the 2nd floor of the building. On each floor, there are 8 units that range in size from a “one room mansion” (studio) to 4 bedrooms. The interior varies from Western style to traditional depending on the tenant's choice and price range. There is a parking garage behind Fuji Residence that is exclusively for the tenants.. Tenets aren’t allowed on the 4th floor and in the basement without permission.

Along with the fire alarm on the fritz, there are other problems in Fuji. Sometimes, the elevator breaks down and trapping the occupant(s) for a while or the door catches a limb or bag before the occupant fully enters the elevator. The security system acts up from an unknown cause. When midnight rolls around, the key card lock turns off, making it impossible to enter or exit the building for 6 minutes. No matter how many technicians come out, the problem is never solved. Replacing the system only lasts for a few days before the problem returns. Unlike other apartments, Fuji Residence has a curfew in place that keeps the building locked from public access after hours. Between 9pm and 6am, all doors leading into the building cannot be unlocked without a key card.

Motomachi Shopping Street

Motomachi is a district of the Naka Ward in Yokohama. It's located immediately west of Yamate and east of Chinatown. It consists mainly of the Motomachi Shopping Street, a five-block long stretch of boutiques and shops, well known in Japan for its cosmopolitan atmosphere, original fashion, and Western influence.

Minato Mirai 21

Minato Mirai 21 is the central business district of Yokohama. Initially developed in the 1980s, Minato Mirai 21 was designed as a large master-planned development and new urban center that planned to connect Yokohama's traditionally important areas of Kannai and the Yokohama Station area. Today, Minato Mirai 21 is a major business, shopping, and tourist destination, attracting visitors and businessmen throughout the Greater Tokyo Area. The business district is host to several major hotels, office towers including the Yokohama Landmark Tower, the Pacifico Yokohama Convention Center, art museums, and numerous cafés and shops in shopping centers and along its central pedestrian mall. Some of the notable businesses in this area include:

The Queen's Square Yokohama is a giant mall that consists of three massive buildings built side by side! They offer all sorts of stores and eateries, ranging from cheap retail to high-end restaurants. The following is a few notable businesses within Queen’s Square:

Sankei-en

Sankei-en is a traditional Japanese-style garden in the Naka Ward which opened in 1906. Sankei-en was designed and built by Tomitaro Hara, known by the pseudonym Sankei Hara, who was a silk trader. Almost all of its buildings are historically significant structures bought by Hara himself in locations all over the country, among them Tokyo, Kyoto, Kamakura, Gifu Prefecture, and Wakayama prefecture. Ten have been declared Important Cultural Property, and three more are Tangible Cultural Properties of Japan designated by the City of Yokohama. Badly damaged during World War II, the garden was donated in 1953 to the City of Yokohama, which entrusted it to the Sankeien Hoshōkai Foundation. Sankei-en was then restored almost to its pre-war condition.

Yokohama Arena

Yokohama Arena is an indoor arena. The capacity of the arena is 17,000 and was opened in 1989. The arena was modeled after US sports venue Madison Square Garden in New York City. It is a five-minute walk from the Shin-Yokohama Station. As one of the largest concert venues in the region, it is a frequent location for artists to end their tours. The spacious stage allows for more complex set design and lighting, but the reasonable size makes it easier to sell out than the Tokyo Dome.

Shin-Yokohama Station

Shin-Yokohama Station is a railway station in Yokohama jointly operated by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central), East Japan Railway Company (JR East), and Yokohama City Transportation Bureau. Shin-Yokohama Station is served by the Tōkaidō Shinkansen, Yokohama Line, and Yokohama Subway Blue Line. The station consists of an island platform at ground level serving the Yokohama Line, with two elevated island platforms for the shinkansen tracks overhead.

Konsen Gakuen

Located 5 miles away from Fuji Residence is the notorious school, Konsen Gakuen. It's your standard 3 year high school with the students divide into two groups: college bound and vocational education. Its baseball team is quite famous for reaching nationals every so often.

Gusto's Family Restaurant

Around the corner from Fuji Residence is a chain-restaurant known for good eats at affordable prices… at any time of the day! The restaurant is open 24-hours a day and welcomes just about any paying customer. They offer both comfort foods and Western dishes… with over five pages of menu items on their menu.

Dossari O'Men Noodle Shop

Located just around the corner of the Hitsuji o Kazoeru is a hole in the wall known for its legendary noodles. Crave ramen? Soba? Udon? Spaghetti?! Dossari O’Men has it all and then some! You just need to be weary of a few customers dragging themselves out of the Hitsuji o Kazoeru. Across from you could be an actual gangster!

Shimittare Pawn Shop

Located just behind Fuji Residence's Parking Garage is a strange, little pawn shop. The reason the owner set up a business in such a strange area is a mystery. Inside, there’s all sorts of odds and ends… knock off goods and a variety of instruments. If you happen to know the owner well enough and give a “password,” he’ll show you the real goods. Tucked away in the cramped shop is an assortment of weapons, legal and illegal, at his disposal! The owner’s shop is a front for a black market!

Hitsuji o Kazoeru

Tucked away within Yokohama’s China Town is the dark side to the city. The Hitsuji o Kazoeru is an adult playground aka the Red Light District of Yokohama. From Love Hotels to Escort Agencies, the area offers all sorts of carnal delights from cheap thrills to a one hell of a night! Mixed within the flashy lights are seedy businesses that cater to the yakuza and other organized crime syndicates.

THE OTHERWORLD

When the clock strikes midnight, the interior of Fuji Residence undergoes a drastic change. It warps and twists into a darker version of the apartment. Black, grimy stains splatter the walls. All windows are blacked out and covered up, making it near impossible to view the outside world. The entrance is omitted as if it never existed in the first place. Lights and plugged in devices don’t work in this realm or doesn’t exist at all.

Both elevators shift from their original appearance to that of an older prototype with metal gates locking in place. Between the elevators is a massive, Gothic clock. Both hands on the clock start out at the 12 mark and ticks off until the little hand touches 12 and the big hand returns to 12. Access to the elevator is restricted due to a lock. If someone has a “key,” they would be able to use the elevators. The buttons in the interior are labeled strangely, and the basement button ripped from the panel.

The majority of the units cannot be accessed in this realm; they locked or boarded up. Certain portals appear to replace the entryway of certain units if someone is trapped in the Otherworld. Voices, shouting, music, and other similar noises of activates can be heard within the halls but the source is unknown. Fun fact: the color of blood changes! Instead of the usual red, it turns into a bright purple.

For six hours (Otherworld time), this version of Fuji exists until the Gothic clock strikes 6. Reality returns within the building as if nothing happens. Time is restored as usual promptly at 12:06am.

During the transformation, most of the occupants in the building undergo a form of stasis. They are frozen in place and appear as statues. Interacting with them is impossible. When reality returns, they go about their business as usual, wondering where that short time went. There are those not affected by the change and are temporarily trapped in the warped version of Fuji… if they’re not bound within. In order to return safely from the Otherworld, the active tenant must return to their own apartment (or remain inside) until the duration of the Otherworld expires.

The predominant life within this altered reality is the Shadows. They appear as black grotesque, blob creatures with a mask somewhere in the mass. Quite a few can take an entirely different form, ranging from something relatable such as a humanoid figure or animalistic. Or… could be something beyond the conception of imagination. They are highly dangerous and act on the phases of the moon. As the moon wanes, the shadows pacifies. When the moon waxes, however, they get aggressive. When the moon is full, they attack just about anything active at night. If someone is trapped in this world, they can be relatively safe… until the full moon. They are most likely to die because of behavior of the shadows.
