I'm wondering if anybody wanted to participate in an Interactive Story Roleplay.
Setting
A 70s-themed, post-zombie universe set in an entirely fictional world, but the (ambiguously-named) country in which the roleplay takes place is similar to the Vietnam-era United States. The initial outbreak occurred six years ago, which plunged most of the country into anarchy. However, after several long years of death and chaos, order had slowly begun to return. The government continued to exist through their "continuity of operations" procedures. The army regrouped and proceeded to liberate a good deal of uncontrolled, zombie-infested territory. Civil Defense declared new "safe-zones" in these retaken areas, and began to repopulate towns and cities by transferring refugees to them.
A wide range of social changes followed the outbreak, and the populace is heavily supervised by the police and military. Though, the government has not yet reclaimed some areas of the country, which still remain controlled by zombies and roving gangs. To prevent unrescued survivors ("looters") and zombies from running amok into safe-zones, entry has been restricted and heavily guarded borders established.
A lot of things are based off the 70s. So, imagine expect to see the images on the right, rather than the left. http://i.imgur.com/ABhJQyE.png
The Roleplay
I do like detailed posts when it comes to actions. For example, if you shoot, how many shots? Where do you aim? If you barricade something, what are you going to use? And when you're making a decision, it's good to ask questions if you have them; it's better than being clueless and having your character do something silly.
Your character could be a citizen living inside a safe-zone, or a survivor who has to get by in a still-infested area of the country. It could even take place earlier in the outbreak, possibly. Character goals can be figured out.
Your character makes decisions on what to do, and I post the outcome of their choices. Events, NPCs and the environment are managed by me. I also keep track of your items and describe any surroundings. Your character may die if they do not exercise caution and good decision-making in some situations.
It can be discussed whether I play more of an actual character that accompanies the player (friend, relative, romantic interest, etc.) and interacts with them beyond other NPCs. Though, it could just be your character alone, and I could solely function as a GM.
