The rattle of an old radio fades as the same message is released,

"Breaking news! A virus that has been injected into insects is turning people into... Zombies! Yes zombies! These insects were somehow released this Wednesday! We advise you to stay indoors and above ground! The only known way to kill them is a hard hit to the head! We are in the process of making anecdote though it will take some time. Havoc has already started to spread through out the world-"

A red haired girl would mash the radio with a pissed expression on her face.
​

"God damn it we know this crap! Why must they continue to replay it!?"
​


 
​


She snarled while reloading her pistol and nail gun. She clips it back to her belt and cleans the blood off of her throwing knives. She looks down at the radio and rolls her eyes. With that done she heads back outside and towards the woods. 
​

Wesely and Slade Cedar

​




The sound of shuffling feet against the now cracked and crumbling street filled the air when all else was silent. Neither twin felt like talking so they had settled for walking in silence. At one point one pair of the feet stopped their awkward shuffling completely. Electric blue eyes stared down at the cracked pavement, the dark circles under them painfully obvious. Wesely turned around the face his suddenly stopped twin and brought his hands to her shoulders, eyebrows creased. 
​


 
​


“Slade, you know there was nothing we could do. We need to keep moving.” Wesely ducked his head, trying to meet electric blue eyes with identical, but Slade had already lifted her head. Those eyes stared at the expanse of land beside the road. Wild grasses growing in places that once used to hold farm land. She could barely remember the way tilled dirt looked, crevices dug in the dirt. She shook her head. Wesely was right, but that didn’t mean Slade didn’t blame herself.
​

“Yeah, I know.” She breathed, referring more to them having to keep moving then Wesely’s previous statement. “Let’s go.” Slade shoved her hands in her pockets and began walking again, eyes trained on the ground again. Wesely watched his sister with sad eyes and began walking behind her. He knew she blamed herself for not being there when Katie was bitten. He knew she was angry that their only friend was forced to kill herself because neither of them were there. Slade wasn’t a crier, but he’d seen the sheen in her eyes when they’d finally found Katie. He’d probably never seen it again. Wesely wished he could get through to her about things like this. Slade needed to stop blaming herself and grieve, because the only thing worse than feeling pain is feeling nothing.

“You know…” Wesely jogged forward and wrapped his arm around his sisters shoulders offering her a warm smile, “We’ve still got each other.” Wesely could’ve sworn he saw her smile, and maybe that glint on her cheek was a single tear.
 
​
 

Shayla grumbles as she trudges through the woods. She had no idea where she was ever since she got pushed away from her base by some zombies. Though she did know that she just crushed her only radio and now she was even more pissed off than before. 
​

Where the hell am I suppose to go now?!
​


 
​


She wondered with a sigh. The red haired female looked around the thick trees every five minutes or so. She wasnt familiar with this area and she wasnt sure if there were any groups of any sort that may jump her. Thats all she'd need right now- some morons who want a useless fight. She'd probably end up killing someone with her temper right now or at least seriously hurting them.
​

The only sound hear was the crunching of leaves underneath her heavy combat boots. Shayla found it odd how no zombies had found her yet. It was like they were all gathered in on area or already killed, which she found unlikely. 
​

I hate being lost.. How do I even get a slight clue about where I am?.. Maybe I should climb a tall tree and see if I can see anything...
​

Shayla sighed and set off to find a tree that would be tall enough and sturdy enough to climb.
​

David boarded the Osprey and turned around as 2 of Bravo squads members fell to the ground as a group of zombies burst down the door to the roof. As he went to raise his sidearm to help them, but wacthed in horror as the zombies had already began their feast. He turned his head in the direction of the cockpit. "Bravo 2-2 and Bravo 2-4 just turned into human happy meals! We need to get this bird off this roof now!" David had never gotten in this bad of a situation where he had to call fo or n evac, normally its just him on scavenging runs.
​




He backed up as the ramp to the Osprey rose up. He heard the sound of the fists of the forsaken bang on the osprey. The osprey rose up off ground, just to go for a turn, and clip one of the rotors on the Radio tower on the building. He Osprey jerked nd slamed its tail into the tower destroying the tower, and the tail of the VTOL. 
​

The Osprey went into a violent spin, The pilot try to raise the base, with no avail, only the short range was working. This is Viper 2-1, we are going down! I repeat, we are going down! If anyone can hear this please respo- the message was cut off as the osprey crashed into the nearby forest.

Wesely and Slade Cedar

Wes happened to absent-mindedly look up into the clouds and his eyes widened at the sight of a helicopter spiraling toward the ground of the forest beside the road. He gasped and grabbed Slade by the arm, who'd seen the helicopter as well, and took of in the direction of the crash. [/SIZE]

[SIZE= 14px]"Wes, hey! We don't know who or what the hell is in that thing!" Slade shook off Wesely's hand but kept running after her twin. Wes just shook his head and stared straight ahead, jumping over a log. [/SIZE]

[SIZE= 14px]"I don't care! If it's somebody we can help, I'm gonna help them!" They both came to a skidding halt as they came upon the crash site. Fortunately for whoever was in the helicopter it seemed they'd crashed in a relatively open area. Wesely shot forward and Slade tried to stop him but he was already to far. "Hey!" Wesely shouted from a few feet away from the crash, slowly moving forward. "Anyone in there?"[/SIZE]

The Osprey's rear door had been busted open from the crash, the echo of the message played through bravo squad's  radios, they were killed in the crash, one flung from the VTOL, The others, still straped in. David, has been flung from his seat, but still alive. When he heard someone calling out. He attempted to push himself up, but he couldnt, while on hia bck, he didnt know why he couldnt sit up, until he turned his head as if he was looking down.

He saw a peice of shrapnal, sticking from his gut, "Fuck!" Left his mouth when he noticed,  he slamed his fist th into the floor of the osprey. At this point, David was beyond pissed, he rested his head on the floor and just simply yelled "Help!".
​

 

At the sound of a call for help, Wesely moved forward into the cocktail pit of the crashed helicopter but soon stopped and gasped at what he saw. Wesely did not like blood. He put a hand over his mouth and began to shaking try and call to his sister. 
​

"S-slade....SLADE!" From outside the crash said sister jumped and climbed into the cockpit behind her brother, blue eyes widening at the sight. 
​


 
​


"Shit." She moved forward and collapsed down onto one knee in front of the man with shrapnel sticking through his abdomen. He was still very much alive. "Fuck. Okay....um." Slade pulled her shirt over her head to reveal a blood stained tank top beneath, intending to use the one in her had to put pressure on the man's stomach to keep him from bleeding out. Once she was able to pull the piece of metal out of course. "Okay, this is gonna hurt, try to stay still." Slade placed both hands on the piece off metal and after a deep breath, pulled upwards. The shirt finding it's place over his wound. "Damnit. WES, BE USEFUL AND GET THE WRAP OUT OF MY DAMN BAG!"

"NOW!" Wesely jumped and moved forward unzipping Slade's back pack and throwing the rolled up wrapped to her. After managing to pull up the man's shirt without too much movement she looked at him expectantly. "Your gonna have to try and sit up. I need to wrap this around you."

The moment the shrapnel was pulled from his gut, a sharp pain flew through his body, he could feel pain again. Once the woman told him to sit up, he made his second  attempt at sitting up, he felt enormous pain in tryng to do so, but prevailed. "Havent felt this much pain... Since Bootcamp..." he looked around the crashed Aircraft, he saw the deceased bravo squad, hearing he distress signal play ver and over through their radios.
​

 

Slade grinned at the comment and shook her head as she wrapped the man's abdomen. "You're gonne be okay, I think." She scratched her head and sat back on her heels, her breathing causing the bandage wrapped around her chest to press up against the thin tank top she wore. "I'm Slade. The Wimp over there in my brother Wesely." She pointed her thumb over her shoulder at Wesely, who was currently dry heaving in a corner of the copter. He'd noticed the dead bodies. There was a moment of silence.

"Yout think anyone's gonna come for you," She said, using a nod of her head to indicate the distress signal coming from the radios.
​


 
​


"I'll be right back." Wesely said as he wondered off out of the crash. He leaned against the outside of the copter and sighed. The sound of sticks crunching in the distance had him grabbing his barbed bat from its place in his belt and walking off into the forest.
​

He looked to where she nodded her head, "Oh, I have no clue... Can you pass me the radio off the guy with the Ace of spaces card on his helmet? You can keep his radio afterwards, pretty sure he wont be needing it anymore. Almost forgot, Names David, people normaly call me Sarge, or "Overwatch"..." he looked around,  noticing one person less.  "Wheres that brother of yours?"

Slade grabbed the radio David asked her to and handed it to him,"Well,nice to meet you, Sarge." She laughed a bit and looked over her shoulder at his next question, her eyebrows drawing together curiously. "I don't know. He's probably just wandering around the clearing." She turned back to David and shook her head,"He's not the best with blood and death." She glanced at the bodies of the hell other people in the copter,"Sorry about your friends, by the way. Must be hard."

Shayla soon began to hear a faint noise in the distance. She immediately froze and pulled a throwing knife out of her boot with her left hand and pulled a pistol off her belt with her right. The closer the sound got the more it sounded like footsteps. It couldnt be a zombie since the steps werent irregular and there wasnt any groans or grunts. So it had to be another person, but were they friendly or not? Guess it really didnt matter though Shayla wouldnt care anyway.

Wesely jumped at the sound of a voice but soon calmed down considerably. Unless zombies had developed the sudden ability to talk, he was pretty certain that whoever shouted that was very much alive. His hand tightened around the handle of his bat and he was tempted to call for his sister but thought better of it because he didn't want her to leave the injured David. Letting out a shaky breath Wesely opened his mouth to speak.
​

"Um...I'm friendly, I promise. Where are you?" He tried to make himself look less threatening without letting go of his bat incase she could see him. "There was a helicopter crash not far from here. My sister is back there with an injured man. I thought you were a zombie."
​

He take the radio from her, before doing what he needed with it he looked at the dead men in the aircraft. "Yeah, well in this day in life this is normal, But... they kept the base at a high moral, they kinda start base wide dance partys... for some reason... it kept them happy in times like this. Thanks for the radio, I have no idea where mine is..." hed switch it off the squad radio signal, and to the standard military  signal, nothing was comming through but the sound of a zombie eating a body. "So thats who had the long range radio... normally there would be  military chatter in this station..." he switched it off the signal and handed it to Slade.

She exclaimed with a rather harsh tone. She'd look around until she spotted him and on reflex pointed her pistol at him.

It was all gone; almost an entire year's worth of work. Gone. In a single swoop of chaos and unknown faces; their home was taken from them. The stronghold they had worked so hard to make into a safe haven now laid burning in the valley below them. The last members of 'the family' had managed to escape the pandemonium and now found themselves dragging their wounded and what supplies they could carry towards higher ground. Remington, a woman with tumbling coils of red stood at the rear of the procession of survivors. Her verdant eyes flickered back toward the plume of thick black smoke billowing from the crashed in roof of the former "Cabela's". Her thoughts recounting all the food, and ammunition they had left behind. Her keen hearing caught the subtle pops and familiar ricochets of rounds burning off. So much for that stockpile. Even so-- with a sizable horde now infesting the outlet; there was no turning back at this point. A sour feeling crumpled Remy's stomach, as the thoughts she had walled up threatened to come rushing in. There was more they had lost then just food, and protection. They had lost people. Precious people who had been with them since the beginning. The names 'Papa Bear' and 'Tilly-Bird' rolled about in the redhead's mouth but she couldn't stomach uttering them out loud lest she lose all of her carefully guarded composure.


"Remy-- We gotta keep moving..." A comforting voice broke the huntress from her train of thought. Her brother can read the forlorn look in her eyes. He was always too good at reading her, but he knows she can't afford a break down here. Barrett, a sturdy young man, with a mane of similar red coils and hazel eyes; is, and has, always been the pillar of strength for the two siblings. He urges her on, even as he helps a hapless medic hobble along on one good leg. Apparently, the poor bastard injured his leg in the escape, and Daven, being of the sturdiest build, was now a crutch. Bear knew the group was hurting, they had lost good people but his apathy allowed him to distance himself from the sentimental loss, and keep everyone moving forward. He didn't know how the rest of the group was handling their grief, but he was ready for damage control in case things went further south. "Hey! We need cover-- this guy's as good as walker bait if we don't stop his bleeding!" Barrett called over to the group. Remy met his gaze with a distant one; she wasn't fully 'present' at the moment but he knew there were cogs spinning in her complex mind.


This had been a small town to begin with, and there wasn't much left in the area, save for a few heavily pillaged buildings. The only inhabitable place had been their little haven. They'd have to make due for now. Beyond the small town was naught more then stretches of thick forest. If they were lucky enough they'd be able to find a cabin or a cave in the rougher terrain. Hopefully in an area that would slow down walkers till they could get their barrings. "Come on--" Remy suddenly muttered, she headed down a road that was gradually swallowed up by nature. It was a back road, leading out towards some unknown destination in the woods, but the road was beaten enough to be clear cut and easy to follow.

Slade plucked the radio from David's hands and shoved it into the side of her back pack before turning back to David. "I've been staying away from the military since this thing started. I don't plan on being dragged to some base underground for my security. I don't do well being holed up." Slade groaned as she forced herself into a standing position and made a face at the place around them. "We should get you out if here....if my brother wants to not be a baby for a sec we can carry you." Slade said this more to herself then David as she walked out of the copter calling her brothers name.

Wesely stayed stoic, trying to keep up his unafraid attitude. He spun around on his heel, attempting to catch a glimpse of whoever was talking to him. When he found himself staring down the barrel of a pistol he froze.

"Whoa, h-hey, I'm not dangerous or anything I promise." He held his hands up in defense,"The helicopter crashed just over there in a clearing." In pointed in the direction he came from. The sound of his name being called had him in lining his head to the red head. "That...would be my sister. You...you can follow me if you want....not that you have to or anything!" He sputtered, one hand still held up in the air.

The silence was unbearable. The heavy atmosphere was almost palpable, crashing down on the few of them that had been able to escape the burning building. Noelle couldn't dare turn back. If she turned back and looked at the flames and the collapsing roof of what had been their home, she was sure she would see the contorted face, the haunted eyes...she was sure she would hear the curses and the screams and words she didn't want to hear. She was sure she would have nightmares about it for the nights to come, if she dared sleep at all. If she turned back and looked, the waterworks would start leaking. Shite. Shite. Shite. No one could have seen this coming... no one would have believed the situation would have gotten so out of control...so wrong in such a short amount of time. 


They had been joking and talking and boasting about the successful scavenging run and then...everything had gone to bloody Hell. She had been stacking the few med supplies when scavengers that ambushed them; the fucking idiots being followed by a bloody horde with so much noise they had been making. They had been...so safe, so confident. And all for naught. They had been able to fend off the strangers...but they had suffered unimaginable losses too. They had lost Chris in the last stretch, as he made an opening for their escape...setting the whole building ablaze in one final 'fuck you'. And Tilly...oh, Tilly...That one would haunt her forever. Especially because of what the petite girl had been hiding. Because of the baby. 


Bright blue eyes turned to Blake, and Noelle felt her heart shrinking. He was probably the most affected by this. How could she possibly say anything to him? What was appropriate to say now? 'Sorry for your loss'? No. This was something else. They had all lost important family members. People who had been with her ever since the world went down the drain. They had been there for her. And now... now...


She choked back a sob, disguising it as a cough, before turning her gaze back to Remy and her brother, as they carried the wounded soldier. They needed to focus on the here and now. They would have time to grief later. Now they needed to find a safe place. What use would she be if she broke down into a sobbing mess now? The medic heard Daven speaking, and she felt a switch turn inside of her. Stop the bleeding. Clean the wound. Dress it. Rest. That is what she needed to do. Stop the bleeding...Clean the wound... She passed beside Blake and her hand brushed his shoulder in a weak attempt of support. Then, her mind was entirely task-driven. "That way, there should be some cabin over the--!" 


A thunderous noise passed over their heads, and Noelle was able to see only a glimpse of what seemed like some kind of aircraft before the thunderous crash of metal grinding and twisting against the soft ground answered the question inside of her mind. "That's not good. That will probably attract the attention of raiders and undead alike." They needed to hurry...and they needed to keep quiet. And as far as they could from the crash site. Maybe there were supplies there, but... was it worth it?


Stop the bleeding. Dress the wound...


"Let's move Eric. Gotta look at that leg. Can you walk?"
 

Blake "B.B." Balkin

It  had been a day like any other. Wake up, search for supplies, don't die. The usual stuff. But it seemed that today wasn't going to be like every other day.
​


Where the hoard came from or how it had found its way to them was a complete mystery to him. All Blake knew was that one moment he was checking up on Tilly
​


and the next moment he found himself in an overrun Cabela's that was on fire. He had managed to get out with some of the others but....They had lost Tilly. She was the central figure of the group. The leader that everyone followed. And much more than that. Blake felt the pain well up in his chest as he ran from the burning building into the surrounding forest. He had no idea where they would go now or how they would start over. Nearly everything that they had built over the last year of the outbreak had been in there and all those supplies would not be easily replaced.
​

Blake looked to the rest of the group that was following him. They were all pretty banged up but thankfully Noelle, the group doctor, seemed to be in good health. She would definitely come in handy when time came to repair the damage. The Remington siblings also managed to make it out along with Lucy,  and Eric. Such a small number of people from their group. It was a devastating loss.  But there was no time to focus on that right now. They had to press on before the hoard behind them decided to follow or something worse like raiders caught up.

David looked up to slade before she left the aircraft,  "I wouldn't drag anyone to a base that is over 70 miles out from the radio station, where the medic, and he guy who you just heard a walker munching on, turned into human happy meals... I don't even know if theres a base to even go to anymore..." he voice was serious, but nearing the end it started to get a bit soft. Once she left the Osprey, he scanned it for any signs of his rifle. Maybe it flew out side when the osprey crashed, but where it was was still in the same place he left it, wedged in between two seats... He stared at it waiting for something to happen.

Remington & Barrett

Everyone was taking this hard. Daven could see it in the doctor's eyes as she raced up to check in on Eric, the secondary medic. He didn't look so good, and in fact, slumped into Barrett as Noelle asked if the man could walk. Apparently the blood loss had left him light headed. Barrett grunted and planted his feet, before turning the man over and slinging his body mass over his shoulder. Being a former fighter made the weight less troublesome to throw around. "I don't think yer gonna get much out of him, doc." Barrett grunted and shifted the weight as he trudged after his fire-haired sibling. "Keep your eyes open... I don't like the sound of that crash." His hazel eyes darted back and fourth, peering between falls of his thick dreads. Remington on the other hand had run ahead a little ways, and with her out of his sight, Daven dug in; in order to keep pace with her. Fortunately his sis returned, jogging down the road towards them. "There's a cabin up on a hill!" Remy called to them and fell back into the thin ranks. "It looks abandoned, but in one piece--" She lightly panted, catching her breath. Her brother simply pressed on, maneuvering around her to take the lead. Remington followed a few steps behind her sibling, but there was a tugging at her core that made her turn around and look at Blake. He had a dejected look in his eye, and though his expression was solid, she could see the cracks of grief starting to peek through. Remington waited just long enough for Blake to catch up, and then fell into a steady pace with him. She knew what he was thinking of, how could anyone else be on his mind? --She felt selfish for not mourning as deeply as he was, but then again-- he had a special bond with the former leader. One she could never hope to understand. Her eyes darted between Noelle's back, to her Brother's back, and over to Blake, who remained in an uncomfortable silence.


"Ahem--" Remington cleared her throat as if attempting to pull down the walls to his inner thoughts. "Are you alright? I--" She didn't know what to say after that. She wanted to offer him comfort; but softness had always been outside of her understanding. Instead she felt bile well up in her chest as she back tracked. "Uh-- it's gonna get dark soon... we should make sure there's some fire wood..." She inwardly winced. What. An. Idiot. --How was that comforting? Mentally kicking herself a few times, she finally mustered up the courage to say something of substance. "We can always go back another day... they could still be there... Maybe they got out..." Her green eyes flickered up to Blake's face unsure of how he'd receive her brand of 'consolation'.


Meanwhile, Barrett had managed to lug the medic up inclined ground and motioned for the doc to come over. He sat the man near a stump and leaned him back to allow the doc to do what she could, while he went over to the seemingly empty cabin. "Alright fellas... time to knock..." Barrett said as he rolled his broad neck and shoulders, aligning a few vertebrae in his spine. He didn't know what to expect but he was sure he'd be ready for it. "Remy-- Blake-- wanna give me a hand? Lucy-- Keep an eye open for doc."

A wry smile appeared on the pinkette's lips despite herself, as the man slumped as a silent response to her question. "I will take that as a 'no'." Noelle muttered, blue gaze turning to Daven, nodding in thanks as he hove Eric over his wide shoulder, carrying the barely conscious man's weight. Still, lightheadedness wasn't a good sign. They needed to hurry. He had lost enough blood as it was. Any more, and this could mean trouble. As her mind went over all the possible complications and outcomes, her ear caught the redhead's awkward voice a few steps behind her, as she tried comforting Blake. Noelle bit her lip and lowered her gaze to the ground. Remy was braver than any of them, being the only one approaching the heartbroken man. It felt wrong, though, listening to their conversation; so with a stiff back, Noelle hurried forward, trying to catch up with Daven, who still managed to stay in front of her, despite him carrying a full grown man. 


Luckily for them, the cabin peeked at the distance, just as they pushed up the hill. A sigh escaped her, mostly out of exhaustion (it had been a long day), but also out of relief...and perhaps a bit of sorrow. Her gaze turned back momentarily at Remy and Blake, then at Lucy a few steps away, before turning back to Daven as he set down the wounded soldier. "Thank you-" she managed, before he went ahead to investigate the abandoned cabin with the others. 


"Alright...Let's see what we have here." Noelle knelt beside Eric, setting down her bag. It pained her having lost all those supplies back home...supplies that would be heavily missed in this situation. No, no. Focus, Noelle. The wound. Inspect the wound. Gunshot wound on the left upper leg. Probably a wild shot during the confrontation with the raiders. Her hands gently moved around, first checking his pulse. It was a bit weak, but steady. A good sign, at least. For now. She noticed the rising and falling of his chest. Good. She loosen any tight clothing, and moved to the wound, pulling his leg up, propping it over a stump. Wound above heart level. Good. "Eric, stay with me. Don't fall asleep. I'll finally get to pay you back for that one time. Remember? Now we'll be even." She continue talking, in an attempt to keep him as conscious as possible, and perhaps to ease herself. "I will press on the wound now. It...will hurt." She had been able to save a few clean rags from back home, and she pressed them directly to the wound, assessing the bleeding. They were soaked in red in no time, making the medic to bite her lip. "Dammit. Alright...You are fine. You are fine." 


Without warning, she ripped the fabric that obstructed her view, keeping the pressure over the wound. Direct pressure. Elevation. Pressure bandage. She could do this. "Lucy...do you have any clean-ish cloth to spare?" the medic asked to the snowy haired girl as fingers searched for the femoral pulse. And...there. A sigh escaped her. Didn't seem it was nicked. Good news.

Hissing as the soldier winced in pain, he gritted his teeth as the pinkette worked on his gunshot wound. He could tell he was fading, and either way, he knew consciousness was going to escape him soon. "Easy...there...Bubblegum..." Eric panted out, trying to stay as awake as possible. "I'm...losing... a lot...of blood. Hnnng. A couple of...cloths...wont solve that problem." He reached into his jacket and pulled out a flat shard of metal, as well as his flask of vodka. "You know what you've got to do, right, Bubblegum?" He said, making sure to use his nickname for Noelle to keep her away from despair. "You have to stop the bleeding, fast." He unscrewed the cap on his flask, quickly coating the metal in it generously, before producing a lighter. He hesitated for a moment before shoving the sanitized metal and lighter into Noelle's hands. "Cauterize the bleeding, Bubblegum. Don't kill the rest of the flesh though." He said, looking up at the others and nodding for them to restrain him when Noelle began, before removing his belt quickly and folding it over on itself so he could bite down on it. He nodded to Noelle and screwed his eyes shut, bracing for the burning pain to come.
 
In one fell swoop, almost everything was lost. The base they worked so hard to get, the supplies they spent so much time scavenging, the connections they made with the people they left behind. Gone. Lucy thought she was over tearing up from this, she was supposed to be stronger now. She wiped away the tears as soon as they started falling, following behind the rest of the group that survived the ordeal. One last glance at the pillar of smoke that was getting farther away cemented the fact that this was real. The girl bit her lip as she pressed forward. The emotional breakdowns can happen later, once they were in a safer place. For now, they had a wounded army guy to take care of. Luckily, there didn't seem to be too many walkers out and about, probably being occupied by the flaming mass behind them. She muttered a 'thank you' under her breath to Lady Luck for being with them now at the very least. 


The group had made it's way up the hill to what looked like a cabin. Dave and Remy set down Eric so Noelle could tend to his injury while everyone else checked out the cabin. Lucy always hated being a witness to this sort of thing, but she helped nonetheless. The girl nodded at Daven's instruction and stayed outside with Noelle. She bit her lip again as she watched the doctor do her work with Eric instructing her. She would've answered back when asked about having spare cloth but Eric spoke back instead. Looking around the surrounding area, she sighed to try and relieve the high tension she was feeling. So much had happened in such a small window of time, how would they bounce back from this?






The day was rough, but the snowy-haired trader was able to rest his head for a little while. Hiding from bandits and avoiding a horde of zombies was no easy feat, but Kyler managed to do so without any losses. He made it back to the cabin he had holed up in as a temporary base of operations while he searched the area for anything of potential value to other people. It was funny to him how some people aren't willing to give up their simple pleasures of the times before the apocalypse. But he was glad, since that's how he's made it this far. 


Hearing voices and noises coming from outside the man stood up from his resting position. There were other people right outside. Bandits? Cannibals? Or maybe... the other group he saw trying to get rid of the bandits from before? Staying cautious, he put his hand on the handle of his combat knife. "Hello? Who's out there?"

Blake's Gaze turned form the path ahead to the red head that was keeping pace with him. She was all over the place with her words. A clear sign that she was far out of her comfort zone. Remy had never been one for condolences or anything of the sort but it was nice to see her trying to console him in her own way. Gazing back in the direction they had come from, at the black smoke that enveloped the horizon,  He shook his head. "No..." He said softly. "They aren't coming back. Not from that." He couldn't explain it but Blake knew in his gut that he was right. He had seen Tilly and the others trying to get out but there was simply nowhere they could have gone.

As much as he wanted to hope and pray otherwise Blake knew he had lost them the same way they had lost Sebastien the winter before, and Atlas before that. He returned his attention to the path ahead of them. There would be time for grieving later. For now he still had others who were alive and needed him at his best. "Thank you Remy."

Blake stepped off and moved ahead as the group came up on the cabin that they had found. It seemed uninhabited but there was never any real way of telling until you got on the inside. Blake readied his Sig and moved up beside the door opposite of Barret. "On three." He said before he took a step out and angled himself toward the door. "One." Blake bent his knees in. "Two." A deep breath."Three." Blake lunged out with his foot and caught the door where the mechanism went into the wall and the door gave almost instantly.

He stepped inside and turned left then right, being sure to check all the corners. There was something that caught his eye "Who's there? Show yourself."
