Fantasy Zephyr (Accepting)

"As much as I like to fight..." Zelin began, his gut still flaring with pain. "I don't want anyone here seriously hurt. You're allies, act like it." His frustration reached new heights. In truth, he wanted to continue fighting at full potential. It's unfair he suddenly has to act like an adult. Damnit dad... Zelin removed the blade from the ground and re sheathed it.

He quickly glanced at Ayah and nodded, saying nothing more. "Rather than fight pointlessly I'd like to actually do something useful. Sir Charles, have you found the assassin yet? This blockade is making everyone on edge..,"

"Wow... Look at them Mazumi."

Thousands and thousands of flickering lights danced through the dark forest, illuminating the bark of the trees and each blade of grass. Nymphaloids of all shapes and colors floated on the gentle breeze, twirling their petal-like wings in sync. The elf woman and the owl hybrid watched the glowing crowd in awe. Evangelina stepped out from behind the tree, and began taking slow steps towards the magnificent creatures. A few of them turned to look at the elf, the flower on their chests twinkling in colors of yellow and blue. One approached her, flicking its wings and hovering right in front of her delicate complexion. It's glow illuminated Evangelina's face, and the flashing colors the creature projected danced in her eyes. Outstretching a hand, she watched as the Nymphaloid lowered itself onto her palm. The long strands near the bottom of the creature tickled her hand, making the elf smile.

The glowing creature bowed to the woman in front of it, revealing a crown engraved with tiny jewels on its head. Evangelina's lips parted in surprise, watching the creature drop something into her hand, before joining the rest of the Nymphaloids. Mazumi and the elf watched as the dazzling group

spun in a circle like the outer ring of Saturn, and disappeared in a giant flash of light.

When the normal light of day returned to the dense forest, Evangelina and her companion blinked open their eyes.
There was not a single trace of the creatures anywhere, except for a few lingering specks of light they had left behind.

Evangelina opened her small hand. A blue, sparkling jewel sat there, twinkling in the light of day softly. In the core, was a throbbing glow. It grew brighter and brighter with each pulse of light. The jewel began to chime eerily, making Evangelina look at it in extreme curiosity. A few moments later, the surface of the jewel began to crack and shiver. The chiming grew louder, and it continued to glow brighter. Mazumi chirped in alarm as the stone exploded, sending streams of blue light into the forest's undergrowth. The core of the jewel began to hover as Evangelina stepped away from it, and watched. It started to reshape itself, as if it were a stick of wax, and turned into a blue crest. After the transformation was complete, a web-like thread formed on the edges of the crest, turning into a necklace.

As if someone invisible had grasped the magical necklace, it lowered itself around Evangelina's neck, and settled perfectly below her collarbone. The beautiful woman didn't know what to think. Speeding off into the deep undergrowth, her companion followed quickly from behind. It didn't take long before the two burst out onto the dirt road, and ran into the small village.

A pair of glowing red eyes appeared in the shadows as the woman and the hybrid vanished away into the village. It watched them intensely, the hues of red portraying aggression and hostility. As quickly as it had come, the thing stepped back into the dark forest, and disappeared into the undergrowth.

"I... I don't understand. What could it mean?" Evangelina murmured, lifting the crest to eye level and inspecting it slowly. Lionel stood close by, a hand under his chin in thought.

"You explained to me that it seemed like some sort of gathering, and the one who bestowed this to you, wore a crown. Perhaps, it is a gift." The old librarian said quietly. Mazumi seemed to chirp in agreement, sitting on Evangelina's shoulder and watching the crest squeezed between her fingertips. She nodded, still seeming to be in deep thought. Standing up, the elf began to pace back and forth across the library.

"I have an uncle who lives in Dominion that could help me with something like this. He studies all kinds of jewels and stones. Maybe he will have some sort of understanding about what this is." Evangelina suggested, settling the crest back down onto her chest. She pivoted to look at Lionel, a smile forming on her lips. The old man gave the elf a longing look.

It seemed they already knew what would happen next.

______________________________________________________

"Goodbye, Evangelina! Make sure to drop by for a visit sometime! Have a safe trip!"

Lionel called out, beginning to grow smaller and smaller as Evangelina rode off into the distance on horseback. She waved, flashing him the biggest smile she could manage before disappearing down the dirt road. The journey was long, but flew by smoothly. It didn't take long for the elf to enter the city of Dominion.

As Evangelina and Mazumi entered the city, they were halted by guards almost immediately.

"Stop! State your business." One of them growled, staring up at Evangelina from the side of her horse. She released her left hand from the reign, and flashed the guard her pinky ring. The emblem of the Cawthorne family glistened gently in the ivory ring.

"I'm here to visit my uncle. Just for a short time." She added, flashing the guards a warm smile, despite their hostility. The guard grew flustered, bowing in apology and muttering something under his breath. Letting her through, the guards dispersed so she could pass by. Evangelina flicked the reigns, the speckled black and white horse grunting and trotting forward. One of the guards caught a glimpse of Mazumi, a confused look dawning on his expression. The hybrid creature made a funny face at the man, before disappearing under Evangelina's hood.

One of the guards ran to the castle at an insanely fast pace, entering the castle's main grounds and towards Sir Charles. Skidding to a halt, the guard breathed out heavily before straightening up.

"Evangelina Cawthorne has entered the city, sir. Shall I alert the guards to keep a close eye on her?"

(...... HOLY MOLEY. I didn't realize it was going to be a whole page long o3o..... Sorry, mates...)

Hog quickly scuttled his way through the halls, avoiding any contact with other Orcs and Uruks. He was considerable small for an Orc, standing three feet. Hog was weak, and normally he would be dead killed by other Orc. The only thing that kept him from death was his job, Krieg's tongue. Krieg kept to his chambers and remained in slumber until he was called upon. Only few had seen Krieg's appearance, that few consisting of Hog, Krieg's Commander, and The guild soldier. Finally Hog had made his way to Krieg's counsel a gathering of his generals who would argue over power as they awaited orders. The small Orc stood upon the pedestal looking down at the generals, each bowed before Hog.

"
The master requires a small force sent to Dominion!" His shrill voice pierced the silence. "He wants 50 armed and trained Uruk! Followed closely by 100 orcs!" He looked to the three on the left, two Orcs and one Uruk each in charge of their forces. "Finally this force requires a demon to lead it. He leaves that selection to you Leodors." Hog's words spoke to the single demon within the room.

"
As he wishes." The four spoke in unison as they stood and salute, they than proceeded to exit the building in different directions to assemble the force. With the meeting quick and over Hog made his way back to Krieg's chambers to alert him to the tasks being carried out.

This army was constructed quickly, as expected for such a small force. The demon left to lead them was named Thantos. He was a disciple of Griselbrand a race of demon.

mm178_demon1.jpg

Rudely summoned from hell by Leo he bowed. "What is my task?"

"
Lead this army of Orc and Uruk to dominion. You then take orders from a soldier of the dark guild. Take this map, armor and weapons. You will reach there before tomorrow morning." Grunting his compliance Thantos took the armor and wore it, grabbed the blade and felt it's heat. "These will do. We leave now." The demon bowed one last time before his master. Then walking onto the ledge of the cliff he raised the rune engraved blade - it burst into flame as he held it high towards his army. Releasing a blood curdling howl of anger the Uruk and Orc began to clang their weapons and chant with Thantos. This army was a savage and bloodthirsty, it's leader even more so.

They would reach the dominion soon.

Imagine the armor slightly larger, and without a helmet.

Cordelia was crouched in the grass sketching out the strange bird that perched in the tree above, her finger dark from smudging the graphite. By the time she was done the bird had screeched and flown off, "Damn..." She sighed and stood up, slipping her hood back. She took a glance at what she had gotten down, half finished but still ok. She was now left with the eerie forest noise, one that made her feel lonely and sad, "Stop.." She cupped her hands over her ears and started walking back, "I dont need to hear your nagging right now grandma.." She pursed her lips and fought off the incoming tears. As she wandered the forest she could hear the distant noises from the Dominion and longed to take a glimpse inside.

Before Charles could answer a guard appeared, gasping for air. It seemed he had ran all the way here, perhaps Zelin's question would be answered. "Evangelina Cawthorne has entered the city. Shall I alert the other guards to keep a close eye on her?" He stated quickly, taking short huffs in between words. The guard was built rather bulky, his short legs and arms making him look like an egg. Pffft~ He had to try and stifle the laugh to keep himself professional.

"Evangelina Cawthorne...?" Zelin whispered, trying to get a feel for the name. It sounded rather...elegant. He turned toward the Eggman, no longer holding his gut, the pain had finally subsided. "She is...from the Cawthorne family? I don't...I don't know the name but they are rather important yes?" He asked, trying to sound older. His intrigue was getting the better of him, finally something interesting. Eggman looked up slightly confused but seemed as if he wanted to explain, but hesitated. Zelin grinned, his father always had this commanding aura about him, the guards, even sir Charles dare not speak against the crown.

"Please guard, if there is something I must know, do tell. The Cawthornes...just who are they?" He asked respectfully, trying not to frighten him. Eggman stood for a moment before simply shaking his head. "I know just as much as you sir but...there are rumors...I...I feel you should ask her yourself milord." He answered, bowing nervously. Meet her...? He grinned even more. That sounds interesting.

"I think I'll do just that, no need to send guards after, simply give her an invitation to visit the castle at her leisure. Go immediately. For now..." The prince started, yawning and stretching his arms. "I think I need another nap..." With that he turned away walking in the direction of the castle. Eggman bowed again and trudged away again, huffing like no tomorrow.

"Now, now, Mazumi. No need to get fussy." The elf laughed as the owl hybrid began to click noisily in her ear. Evangelina slid off the saddle that sat atop the tall horse, and tied the leather reigns to a wooden post. Opening up the blue pack, she unzipped a small baggy which contained a wiggling green caterpillar. She grasped its squishy middle delicately, and flung it into the air. Mazumi caught it in his talons, beginning to dig his small beak into the juicy insect. Chuckling, the beautiful elf patted her horse's shoulder to reassure it. The horse whinnied softly while flicking its flowing white tail back and forth.

Evangelina and Mazumi stood in the middle of the marketplace, weaving around townsfolk and animals alike. The owl hybrid had scarfed down the fat caterpillar in seconds, and settled himself on Evangelina's shoulder in satisfaction. She stopped at one of the stands, and purchased a few apples and other fruits. The man running the stand caught the coins dropped in his palm, and waved to the elf as she began to leave.

"Bye now! Take care!" She called back, flashing the man a warm smile.

After they had gotten everything, Evangelina and Mazumi headed back to the black and white speckled horse. She untied the brown reigns, and climbed back on top of the massive animal.

"We'll be at my uncle's soon, Mazumi. And then, you can take your nap." Evangelina murmured to the small creature, who began to click excitedly in response. He curled down onto her shoulder, and tickled the side of her neck with his moth-like ears. Laughing, the elf opened her mouth to say something, but was cut off as a man's voice appeared loudly next to her.

"Excuse me, madam!" The same guard from earlier cried out. Evangelina swiveled her head in surprise, and looked down at the man. He seemed to be breathing heavily as if he had been running.

"The prince has invited you to the castle personally. Please come on your own time, madam." The bulky guard bowed to her, before bursting into another sprint through the city's streets. The elf blinked rapidly, exchanging glances with Mazumi. He clicked in several different tones, and then stopped with a question in his brown large eyes.

"I'm not sure. We'll have to stop by later after we've seen my uncle." The beautiful elf shrugged. Mazumi nodded eagerly, and dug his claws into the cloak enveloped around her shoulders as the horse quickened its speed.

The horse's hooves thundered noisily against the cobblestone street. The city began to grow quiet as they proceeded into the more wealthier part of Dominion. The houses began to grow larger and larger, and the streets became less crowded. Evangelina pulled the reigns back to her hips, slowing the tall horse down to a normal trot. They stopped in front of a huge wooden house that was lit from room to room. She could make out the dark figure of a person inside, passing by the windows. The elf slid off the saddle, tied the reigns to a post in front of the house, and sped up the staircase. Evangelina's hand knocked eagerly on the oak door. A young man in his mid 40's opened it, letting out a yelp of surprise as Evangelina jumped into him. Laughing hysterically, he hugged her back and stepped back inside.

"It's so good to see you again! Oh, it's been far too long, my dear." Evangelina's uncle chuckled heartily, releasing her as she stepped away. Mazumi suddenly popped out from behind Evangelina's head, and zipped up in front of Mordecai.

"And Mazumi! It's good to see you too!" He laughed as the hybrid began rubbing his soft head against Mordecai's cheek. Evangelina smiled, closing the door behind her softly. When Mazumi was done greeting Mordecai, he floated away and hovered near the two elves.

"You wouldn't believe what's happened! I need to tell you right away!" Evangelina exclaimed while leading her uncle into the living room.

Plopping down onto a chair, she began explaining to him about her discovery of the Nymphaloid species, and how one of them had given her something. She lifted the necklace away from her neck, and dangled the beautiful crest in front of Mordecai. His pale blue eyes grew extremely excited.

"Wow..." He whispered, reaching out a hand to grasp it. As soon as the cool stone brushed his fingertips, he jerked his hand back, as if afraid it would break at the touch.

"Do you know what it is?" Evangelina asked. Her eyebrows began to furrow in curiosity. He leaned back in his seat, seeming to be in deep thought for a moment. And then, he suddenly shook his head. Evangelina's eagerness died down a bit.

"I thought it was made of sapphire at first. But, now that I look at it... It's too light to be sapphire. Strangely, I feel I've seen it before. The crest is the shape of something very familiar to me. But I'm not sure what. If you don't mind, may I study it for a few days? I might have a better understanding of it more." He asked her. Evangelina nodded, and settled the crested necklace in the palm of his hand gently.

"Of course! I have to stop by the castle anyways. I'll be back in a few hours." The elf called out as she began to leave, catching a glimpse of her uncle's concentrated expression.

After an hour or so, Evangelina arrived at the castle on horseback. She admired the castle as she grew closer to it. As she passed the golden rimmed gates, a few guards began to escort her in. They seemed to already know who she was. Evangelina exchanged curious glances with Mazumi. One of the guards beside her outstretched a hand to her. She gratefully took it, and slipped off the tall speckled horse.

"We will let the prince know you have arrived. Please wait here, ma'am." A muscular guard said to her, before walking away into the long corridors of the massive castle. Evangelina waited patiently, grinning at how much attention Mazumi was getting from the other guards. The hybrid clicked loudly at the men, shooting them protective glares.

"Sir. Evangelina Cawthorne is here." The guard appeared in Zerin's room, his expression plastered with seriousness.

Charles had sat in the chair in the training grounds, as the newest guards were coming out to begin, which he found rather entertaining when they'd fight and duel, ah youth.

Ayah had found herself alone as the Prince walked off, and made her way to her favorite tea-shop, Ajinoai. Just leaving there, however, would be her later friends. The two figures passed her by, side-eyeing her. Ayah paid no real attention to the two, but would have a moment of thought about them.

They have swords. Mercenaries.

---

Aura kept walking, practically dragging Erin around with her. She had just ordered her favorite tea at Ajinoai, and she was lucky enough to get the final cup of it.

Then that damned old woman had to run into her, so Aura punched her in the face.

Erin was rather disappointed in Aura, but kept quiet. She knew how Aura was when she got angry, but she knew how to calm her down, too. Erin would quickly walk faster to catch up to the raging girl, and grabbed her arm.

"Aura, there was no reason to punch that lady..."

"I...I know..", Aura would say with a shameful look to the ground. "It's not my fault people are idiots."

Zelin murmured angrily as he was awakened by a castle guard. "...Go...away...I'm really tired..." The guard sighed and walked a few steps closer to the bed. "Sir...Miss Evangelina Cawthorne has arrived...you invited her." He said rather wary. Zelin opened one eye in realization. Curses. "Ah...yes...so I did." He quickly jumped up from his bed in an attempt to make himself presentable. "Wh-where is she currently residing?" The guard bowed respectfully and looked away as the prince prepared himself. "She's outside and down the hall waiting for you. Please move quickly." The guard stated, leaving the prince by himself.

After properly dressing himself in royal attire he left his bedroom in search of his guest. She is supposedly of high nobility, he'd have to tread carefully. No need to anger the Cawthorne family. After a minute of walking through the long hallway he enters the room in which she resided. Zelin was thrown off guard, she was an elf, and a...enchanting one at that. "Erm-I'm sorry, forgive my...rudeness, I am prince Zelin of Dominion, Son of the late king Liazol." He spoke quickly, bowing slightly, a bit flustered.

Evangelina let out a small breath of air as she waited. The room was silent, except for Mazumi who chattered noisily on her shoulder. She shushed the creature as one of the guards let out an annoyed huff.

"Quiet down, Mazumi. Just for now, I promise. And try to be polite when meeting the prince." The elf gave the owl hybrid a longing look, before a smile broke out onto her lips. She laughed quietly as Mazumi rubbed his head against her softly.

After a few more minutes of patience, there was a distant sound of footsteps coming down the hallway. Evangelina and Mazumi both flicked their gazes in the direction of the noise, which began to grow louder and louder by the second. The hybrid let out a shrill chirp that echoed around the room. Grinning, she motioned for Mazumi to hide in her hood for now. Nodding curtly, his clicking dimmed down as he vanished into the folds of the dark fabric.

A figure appeared at the entrance way. Evangelina saw this out of the corner of her eye, and glanced up. She turned towards the prince, her pale blue eyes glistening with warmth as their gazes locked. The elf rose from her seat, a smile forming across her pink lips. She bowed back to him.

"Evangelina, daughter of Alessio and Isabella Cawthorne. It's very nice to meet you." The elf responded. She straightened back up with a warm smile still lingering on her lips. Mazumi, who let his curiosity get the best of him, peeked his fuzzy head out from behind her hood. He let out several clicking noises, and began creeping out more and more.

"Oh! And this is Mazumi. He's a bit shy." The hybrid crept out until he was completely visible. His fuzzy brown coat shined in the bright light of the room. The guards eyed the creature now that he was fully revealed.

"A pleasure I assure you." Zelin said politely, he noticed the hybrid sitting upon the Elf's shoulder. It was slightly disturbing, but interesting. He immediately walked up to take a closer look at the creature named Mazumi. "Oh wow, that's simply amazing! I've never seen-" He cut himself off, noticing his lack of respect, some guards smiled at his outburst. "Ah, I'm sorry. I've already made a fool of myself." He said solemnly, shrugging his shoulders. "I...forget my position." Zelin straightened himself once again. "Would you like anything while you are here? Drinks or foo-" "PRINCE ZELIN!" An angry voice cut him out mid-speech. Uh oh.

William had been searching for the prince all day, nearly walking around the entirety of the castle twice. Utterly fed up, he stomped up to Zelin, ignorant of the guest. "Where have you been all day!? Do you know how hard it is to maintain the balance of an empire when I have to spend all of my precious time searching for the heir?" He asked quite furiously, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "What are you doing that's more important than your Guardian training?"

Zelin was slightly embarrassed at getting scolded, but he quickly thought of a way out. He gestured toward Evangelina respectfully and smiled. "I'm meeting with an important guest, a member of the Cawthorne family. Surely you knew about her arrival?" William stopped for a second to glance at the elf before doing a double take, his mood quickly changing. "Oh..oh yes of course. Why...how could I have...forgotten." Zelin was absolutely loving this. "You didn't have to scold me in front of her William, I even got myself ready to meet her. Where were YOU?" That did it.

William was in a confused mess, trying frantically to come up with a reason. "I-um...you see I was...I'm sorry, please forgive my rudeness." He turned toward Evangelina and bowed, clearly defeated. "It's fine, you may leave now. I will attend my lessons later on." And with that, William slowly walked away. Zelin looked back at his guest with a smile. "I'm sorry about that, sincerely. Would you like to sit somewhere comfortable? Formalities are unnecessary at this point."

Evangelina smiled at the prince warmly as he took a step closer to get a better look at Mazumi. The hybrid saw this, and swiped his fragile wings in front of his face to conceal him. He was acting shyer then normal. Evangelina laughed in amusement.

"I'm sorry. He's not usually this shy. I'm sure he'll warm up to you soon." She said, outstretching a finger and scratching the top of Mazumi's head. His wings immediately retreated back behind him at the touch of Evangelina. He let out several series of chirps in high pitched tones. The elf knew his soft spot.

Evangelina jumped a bit as she heard a loud voice call for the prince down the hallway. A man stormed in, yelling furiously at the prince. Mazumi squeaked in alarm and retreated back into the elf's hood. Evangelina stood there listening, her eyes darting back and forth from the prince, to the newly presented man. He seemed to be some sort of advisor. When the prince motioned towards her, the man and the elf locked eyes. He began apologizing quickly and in a confused manner. Before she had time to respond to his words, the man was dismissed by the prince, and had left the room in seconds. She blinked rapidly, and chuckled a bit. The livelihood of the royal castle didn't seem to surprise her one bit. Besides, she was used to it being like this at home.

"That sounds lovely." She responded back to Zerin with a soft voice. Evangelina felt the ticklish feeling of Mazumi's fur brushing against the back of her neck as he revealed himself once more. His tiny talons gripped the fabric of her cloak. He stared at the prince a moment longer before turning to Evangelina. The creature began to click rapidly, seeming to be asking her a question. A smirk formed across her lips.

"Well, if you're that curious, why don't you ask him yourself?" She replied to the hybrid quietly. Mazumi looked at Zerin intensely, and shook his fuzzy head. He began to click again in response. Evangelina laughed, feeling the hybrid crawl back into her hood.

"This must seem confusing to you. I can explain to you later once we've found a more comfortable area, if you like." She murmured to Zerin, her pale blue eyes glowing with warmth.

Zelin nodded approvingly, though a bit interested in what Mazumi had to say. Could she understand the creatures words? "I'd love to know what he said, I didn't know you could speak to animals, very interesting." He said, turning to walk into the long hallway. The few guards around them watched the elf cautiously and with amusement. Not many elves are seen throughout the castle. "I'm not used to many visitors in the castle um...please forgive me if I seem..." The prince started as he walked, he didn't quite know what he wanted to say. "...Childish."

His reddened a bit, trying not to give direct eye contact. This was really the first time he had met an elf himself, he didn't know how to act. "Erm, what reason have you decided to visit Dominion during these times?" Zelin asked, trying to change the subject quickly. He led them into a small room filled with books and a round table sitting in the center. A maid stood patiently, smiling as they entered.

Evangelina laughed quietly, waving away his words.

"Oh, I don't mind. Just be yourself. I'm in no position to judge who you are." She responded back with a genuine smile. Mazumi once again poked his fuzzy brown head out, listening curiously. The prince seemed a bit tense. Perhaps because of her family's nobility. Did he feel obligated to present himself more politely because of that? Thoughts ran through her mind as they wandered down the hallway together. They turned into a small room completely filled with books, and a table in the middle. Evangelina almost immediately let out a relaxed sigh. She loved books a little too much.

Evangelina directed her attention back to Zelin.

"Well, it's a bit of a long story. Do you mind?" She asked, motioning towards the table. Mazumi let out a loud chirp, before bursting out of her hood and zipping around the room. His moth wings fluttered rapidly as he inspected the books in each shelf. Finding his objective, the hybrid pulled out a book with his six legs. Surprisingly, despite the books large size, Mazumi could carry it easily. He floated down to the table Zerin and Evangelina sat at, and dropped the heavy book right in front of the elf. She laughed, watching Mazumi settle himself on top of the book. He pulled open the book with one of his tiny talons, and began reading. He jumped around the page, nodding and clicking wildly. The book seemed to be about rare animal species.

Both Zelin and the maid watched in amusement as the moth owl pulled a large book from the shelf and dropped it on the table. The fact that it seemed to read the book as well surprised them greatly. "It-He can read?" Zelin asked, trying to still be polite. The maid straightened up trying to act as if she was a statue, awaiting her order. The prince shook away his amazement and turned toward the maid with a smile. "Could you bring us some drinks?" She quickly bowed and strolled away on her task at hand, Zelin knew full well news of the guest would spread throughout the castle like a fire. He sat down in a chair and took a glance at the book Mazumi was reading, trying to understand his interest. He couldn't make it out and simply sat back in his chair to get comfortable.

The prince glanced at Evangelina still standing and gasped a bit. "Oh pardon me, please have a seat. I am interested in the story you have." He placed both elbows on the table and held his head up. "But...let me be a bit selfish. What's it like...outside of Dominion?"

Mazumi looked up towards Zelin, who had asked a question. Instead of Evangelina answering, the hybrid nodded eagerly in response to the prince. He began chirping rapidly as if the prince could understand him. Evangelina smiled, and scratched the top of Mazumi's head.

"Yes, Mazumi is a Nyxim, a very rare race. Not many of his kind exist today, due to their habitats being destroyed. He is very intelligent, and can understand and read the English language. Sadly, his vocal chords are too small to speak English... Instead, he uses the language of the Nyxim's, which consists of clicking. I taught myself to understand his language. It's.... very hard to learn." She laughed nervously, realizing she had begun to babble. Evangelina took a seat at the table and watched the hybrid turn a page in the book. She flicked her pale blue eyes upwards at Zelin, their gazes locking once more.

"It's beautiful... But... Ever since the monsters began appearing all over the lands, it's gotten quite dangerous. You don't know how many times I've had to fight off the one-eyed beasts that roam the forests." She said, trying to sound optimistic. Mazumi continued to read his book while chirping noisily.

"Before I came to Dominion, I stayed in a small village just north of here. I had a friend kind enough to lend me a place in his library, where I studied most days. I became a traveler a few months ago, because I decided to pursue my passion of animal study." She laughed a bit, and stopped mid-sentence.

"Please tell me when I've said too much. I tend to ramble." Evangelina began to say, looking a bit embarrassed. Mazumi chirped noisily, as if laughing at the elf.

Zelin became absorbed by Evangelina's story, ignoring the maid even when she had brought drinks. It was fascinating to hear about something else besides Dominion. She spoke of the forest and animals that surround the land, her home and a large library owned by a friend. He smiled all the while, not taking a single moment to interrupt her. As she continued her face grew slightly dark, speaking of dark creatures becoming more apparent throughout the land. His smile faded, listening closely to her words. One-eyed creatures? He asked himself, going into a deep thought. "Please tell me when I've said too much. I tend to ramble." Evangelina said, she looked down a bit embarrassed.

The prince leaned back in his chair, pushing the thoughts of creatures into the back of his mind. "No no, I like...hearing you talk." Zelin said to calm her. "I mean- well...I enjoy your stories. Yes. Ahem." He shifted a bit, trying not to make it awkward. He finally realized that the drinks were delivered and reached to grab a cup. "Do you like tea? It's my favorite." The prince said as he poured a cup.

Evangelina glanced up at the prince, smiling as he began to grow a bit embarrassed at himself. He shifted in his seat, and cleared his throat. Mazumi sensed Zerin's embarrassment. He decided to make things a little bit more fun. Flicking his wings, the hybrid began singing a song that was quite familiar in the city of Doninion. A song specifically about love. Evangelina felt her lungs tighten. She shushed the creature quickly, and watched as Mazumi burst into a fit of shrill laughter. The elf stifled a small laugh, and redirected her attention towards the drinks that now sat on the table.

"Yes. I very much enjoy tea. My mother used to make it for me every afternoon." She smiled a bit, her voice light and somewhat longing. Mazumi chirped wildly as Zerin began pouring the steaming liquid into his cup. He seemed to want some. Nudging at one of the cups with his head, the hybrid flashed Evangelina a pleading look. She chuckled and poured some tea into a cup. She slid the drink towards Mazumi, who began to slurp it down quickly. After taking a long gulp, the hybrid squeaked a small thank you to the elf.

Yamin a didn't say anything and put her sword back into her holster and looked at the prince. She put one arm behind her back and the other one was in a fist on her chest she bowed to him. "I am sorry my prince...sadly I made my anger take over me...I was in the wrong and I can will take all the punishment and responsibility for what happened here today..." she tells him standing back up straight and sighing then looks at Charles her whole attitude and a facial expression back to being completely serious and showing no emotions at all. She felt embarrassed she let her temper take control of her...she was a danger to the prince and everyone around her if she can't control her anger. She needed to leave to a quiet place quick and in a hurry...she can't let anyone else be harmed. She looked up and saw a young lady talking to the prince she didn't say anything but walk back over and stand next to Charles.

Before Evangelina answered his question Mazumi began to sing a song. Zelin gazed at him in awe, listening happily. After a few moments he recognized it to a rather popular love song. Evangelina grew a bit flustered and quickly shushed him, and Mazumi ended the song. He almost asked why she stopped it but the realization hit him hard. Zelin couldn't help but smile. "I see, my mother also made tea for me when we rested in the garden. I always found it quite peaceful." He said looking down at his tea cup, gazing into the hazel liquid. He sighed and looked back up at Evangelina, still smiling. "I'm sorry if I'm taking your time. I understand if you had important matters to attend to." Zelin took a sip of his tea and gazed back at her.

"Oh how boring this is..."

Kyro was still up in the tree observing the barricaded Dominion. There he was awaiting the army that was to help him in causing havoc in the pitiful city that stood in his sight of vision. The wind began to pick up around him as he waited there. Kyro closed his eyes and took a deep breath in. He lifted the mask up but did not completely pull it off, just enough for him to breath out and actually enjoy the wind. But the stirring wind did not please him.

He opened his vacant eyes once more and looked around to see if any of his surroundings has changed. Nothing besides a bird hopping on a branch close to his. "Mmmmm, let's see what this book has. Perhaps some useful spell for killing?" Kyro asked himself as he grabbed the book from his side and opened up the travel size book. Upon his luck, he opened the book to a page that concentrated the power of Void into a shape of a thin needle that can penetrate through 5 bodies. "Oh, how delightful!" Kyro whispered.

His eyes swiftly reviewed the words needed to be said in order enhance his Void power. "Krausas litles nedenes," Kyro murmured as he lifted one hand up and positioned two of his fingers as if he was already holding a needle. At first nothing happened but then he felt the power surged through his veins, appearing in the sickening color of green. The light flowed past the skins of his fingers and out into the space between his thumb and index finger. Soon a thin needle that glowed green appeared in the space. A smile came upon his face and a slight green light brightened his vacant blue eyes,

"And now, for the show," Kyro gleefully said as he flicked the needle like a dart and watched its elegant flight. The needle broke the wind in its path and headed towards the bird. The poor creature did not have time to react before the needle passed its body. Kyro narrowed his eyes thinking for a moment that he said the spell wrong but then the bird exploded. Blood splattered everywhere. It painted his plain white mask with beautiful dots of red. Satisfaction glinted in his green-blue eyes.

"Beautiful," was the onyl word Kyro said before he turned away from the remnants of the dead bird.

It ran with precision speed, and yet, it was silent. Not a sound was created as its horned feet sliced across the dirt. The air was dark, cold. The wind began to pick up, and the sky turned a dark grey.

Dominion grew still.

It crept across the cobblestone roads unseen. It weaved around houses and townsfolk, but still remained... Undetected. The skin aligning its body was clear and lifeless. A camouflaged ability had been cast over it, making the horror underneath invisible to all. It slithered up the ivy covered walls like a snake, and perched itself on top of the cement. A deep, intense growl erupted from its throat as it stared down at the courtyard below. It dug its horned claws into the brick, before making a wild leap onto the side of the castle. It clawed up, causing a bit of debris to fall and smash to the ground below. Guards standing by the area yelled out in alarm, trying to find the source of the crumbling bricks. As their alert eyes searched, they found no suspect.

It sat on an open windowsill, watching a maid fold clothes into an ivory drawer. Luckily, one guard below had looked up at just the right moment. He caught a glimpse of a shining horned tail that was quickly concealed by invisibility. The guard watched in horror, as the tail retreated into the castle window, and vanished out of plain sight.

The outside walls of the castle were suddenly filled with frantic yelling and the sound of armor clattering.

Evangelina saw the prince smile after the realization dawned on him about Mazumi's song. She grinned a bit before glancing over at the hybrid, who had finished the last droplets of his tea. He practically fell inside the cup. With a belly filled with warm tea, Mazumi floated lazily over to Evangelina's shoulder and collapsed onto his side. He fell asleep in seconds.

"Oh, no! It's quite alright. I left my uncle with a necklace I discovered in my travels. He's studying it at the moment. It's his profession to study gems and stones." She smiled, hearing Mazumi begin to snore softly. She flicked her pale blue eyes upwards, meeting the prince's gaze.

The sound of heavy footsteps seemed to break their peaceful meeting.

"PRINCE ZELIN!" A guard yelled, bursting into the library. He breathed heavily. Four or five more guards came up behind them with frantic looks on their faces.

"Prince Zelin, one of the guards spotted a demon entering in through a castle window. We must get you to safety, sir." He said quickly. The commotion jolted the hybrid awake. Evangelina rose from her seat slowly and stared at the guards with a serious expression.

"A demon... in the castle?" Evangelina murmured to herself, staring at the ground as if searching for an answer. Mazumi concealed himself in the elf's hood after hearing the word 'demon'. She heard the distant sounds of a thunderstorm approaching. A harsh wind blew in from one of the windows, dispersing all candlelight in the library. The room grew dark.

Seconds later, the library was lit with a luminous purple glow. Evangelina's void magic began to light up the room, the source of the magic wavering off from her palms. She flicked her fingers at each of the candles, and watched as they relighted themselves with a purple flame. The guards stared in awe.

"Zelin I-" The elf began to say, her gaze soft as she turned towards him. But something stopped her mid-speech. The sound of claws tapping across the ceiling. Whatever it was, seemed to be right above them. The guards unsheathed their swords in alarm and glanced around for any movement. Evangelina took a few steps back until she was next to Zelin. Her shoulder brushed against his slightly. Thunder boomed outside the castle, along with forks of lightning slicing through the grey sky. Evangelina's eyes became filled with fear, for she was terrified of thunder and lightning.

Yamina was just walking through the castle halls minding her own business thinking at the same time...Why did I let my anger get to me? I could have killed the prince!! I really need help and fast I can't let this continue to happen. Yamina just sighed and continue walking trying to erase what had occurred this afternoon. She decided to goto the pub and just drink the memory away but she doubt it would work.

No matter how flat you make a pancake it's still got two sides

The guards tried to surrounded the two in a circle, searching for the creature to no avail. "Protect the prince! Neither of these two are to be harmed! Lieutenant! Alert William of our the situation." One of them yelled. A single man quickly saluted and ran out of the room, leaving the prince and Evangelia with 5 guards. Zelin was defenseless as he had forgotten his own blade in his bedroom. He glanced at Evangelina, seemingly filled with fear. A...a demon? How could it...how...? The words quickly ran through his head, his heart itself racing. He'd never fought any type of dark creature, especially not one as powerful as a demon.

"F-forget me, protect Evangelina! I...I can..." He started, trying to bolster his own morale. A soft growl echoed throughout the room, causing a cold chill to run down his back. The guards stopped yelling, going quiet waiting for the beast to come out. The only sound in the room was the heavy breathing and quick impacts of lightning. Zelin felt something move and quickly glanced down, thinking it was already on him. To his surprise it was his hand shaking, in fact his whole body. He was literally quivering. I'm...scared? "Don't worry." The prince whispered at first, looking into Evangelina's eyes. He forced a smile, even while gripped with fear. He reached out with his hand and held hers, holding it tight as if to comfort. Strangely, it made him feel better. "No demon can take out a prince." Zelin moved even closer to Evangelina, standing in front of her protectively.

"...I don't know where it is. But it can't hide forever...right?" One of the men stated, still breathing rather heavily. The low growl returned, and with it, one of the bookshelves were knocked over onto one of the guards. A loud crash was heard as the guard didn't have a moment to react.

Yamina heard the yelling of the guards and eyes widen hearing them say that there was a demon in the room the prince was in. She quickly takes off rubbing to where the prince and his friend is. She runs faster and starts jumping down roofs and scaling down walla getting to the room as quick as possible.
