overview.
Wear a necklace of rope, side by side with me.
The hand of the Capitol shadows every living creature in Panem, from the proudest Victor to the workers keeping the heart of Panem alive and running,
The flames of rebellion have begun to lick the tightly wound fist that President Snow has wrapped around Panemโs throat. Sparking false hope is what keeps the cogs turning in the all-consuming machine, but too much hope and too much bravery is a threat that could topple the Capitol into ashes.
Just as the weeds encroach his white rose garden, the rebellion must be nipped in the bud and the traitors along with it. What better way to remind the victors and all future tributes who holds the leash than to turn it into a noose and hang all but one of them with it?
No winner is safe, because there are no winners. Only those who survive.
Welcome to Zenith, a canon-divergent Hunger Games rp! During the span of this story, we will be covering the rebellion of the Districts against the Capitol through the lens of the Victors, Rebels, and perhaps even the Loyalists. Rebooted this time! Especially with the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes coming up, I've been filled with Hunger Games muse for days!
While the first portion of this story will be centered around the Victors forced into the arena for a second time, the latter half of the story explores the stories of all those associated with the rebellion. While we are basing the story off of Catching Fire and Mockingjay, we are taking heavy liberties with the canon. In this story, the only canon being used will be Snow. All roles are up for grabs, and more roles/crucial positions will become available as the story progresses!
We hope you join us in this journey toward rebellion!

VICTORS
open
With the mental and physical scars to prove it, the Victors danced with death and came out on the other side. No one knows the brutality of the Games quite like this group. Despite their survival, they are kept in a gilded cage, dragged around by the leash of victory by the Capitol. Whether they seek praise from Panem, wealth from their success, or any plethora of pleasures the Capitol offers, they are chained to the Capitol and the Games for the rest of their lives. Do they embrace the life of a victor, soaking in the limelight and riches? Do they seek to mentor tributes and bring pride to their district? Or do they scorn and abhor the entire system, left with salt in their mouth each time the collar of obligation squeezes their throat?
Victors may be chosen from any of the 75 prior years of Hunger Games.
REBELS
open
The flames of rebellion burn brightly in the heart of many scattered across Panem. Inequity across the country has spurred whispers of revolt amongst the Districts and even among some of those in the Capitol. Whether they are forming plans in District 13โs bunker, sowing the seeds of rebellion inside the Capitol, or finding the light after realizing the terrors of the Capitol stretch farther than just the games, these people are the heart of the fight.
Rebels may be former Capitol Citizens (stylists, designers, gamemakers, etc.), Citizens of District 13, or anyone from the 12 Districts wishing to incite change against the Capitolโs heavy hand.
LOYALISTS
open
The Capitolโs wrongdoings are nothing to the Loyalists. Whether they turn a blind eye to the corruption of the Capitol, or pride for their District swells so much that it deceives their every sense, these individuals care not for changing a perfect system. The Games are simply a necessary event for the Districts to repent for their sins. The fault is not in the system, but in those that revolted long ago. Loyalists fiercely support the Capitol as much as the Rebels support its downfall.
Loyalists could be Peacekeepers, Capitol Citizens (stylists, designers, gamemakers, etc.), or Citizens from the 12 Districts. Though a Loyalist may stay a loyalist, perhaps a peep behind the curtain could sway them towards rebellion.

rule four.
Considering the nature of the Hunger Games and stories like this, there will likely be major character deaths throughout the span of our story! There will be checks to ensure characters are no killed without a writers knowing, but if you write multiple characters... let's just say, not all of them will make it! And may the odds be ever in your favor, I suppose.
