Yuugen Academy
幽玄学園
Located in southern Tokyo, Japan, Yuugen Academy is an elite school, open to anyone—provided they have the sufficient funds, that is. The school boasts the finest facilities and teachers, hence the exorbitant school fees. Students comprise mostly of heirs and heiresses, children of celebrities, and celebrities themselves. As much as the students bask in luxury everyday, however, the atmosphere is extremely competitive, as students compete not only for grades, but also to maintain their families' reputations, form connections and of course, to find potential weaknesses in rivals/rival corporations.Currently:
Friday, 1st week
(School started on Monday, and the one-week long orientation was two weeks ago)
April, Term 1
Mid-spring
Generally sunny, clear and cool
Upcoming Event: Yuugen Cherry Blossom Festival
Where: Garden
When: Friday, 2nd week—after-school club activities are generally cancelled for the day, and the festival continues until midnight
Adhering to the Japanese tradition of appreciating the blossoming cherry blossoms in the spring, Yuugen holds its own festival on the second week of school, open only to students and staff. Plenty of food and drink stalls (both casual and sophisticated) line the paths of the school garden. Attendees can take the rowboats provided for the day out on the modest-sized river running through the garden, with the option of rowing the boat themselves or having a hired expert row do it for them. At night, the lanterns hung on the trees are lit up, illuminating the whole garden.
Customarily, students may invite the person they like to the festival. There's also a legend that if you go to the night illumination with the person you like, the two of you will definitely end up together. Several seniors have confirmed it, but the validity of this is, of course, unknown.
The student council works closely with staff members to organize this, and some clubs or even individual students may decide to open their own stall, to train entrepreneurship and business skills.

- All RPN rules apply, naturally.
- A minimum of two paragraphs per post and one post per week is required. If this would not be possible for any reason, please just let me know.
- This goes without saying, but please be polite and respectful to everyone.
- For simplicity's sake, we will not be using Japanese honorifics in this RP. Teachers/Staff will be addressed as "Mr./Mrs./Miss [last-name]". Students address each other by last name if they're not familiar/close with each other, and first name if they are.
- Characters' ages range from 15 to 18. Those born between April 1st and March 31st of the following year are placed into the same grade. First-year students consist of 15/16-year-olds, second-years consist of 16/17-year-olds and third-years consist of 17/18-year-olds.
- The school's dress code may seem fairly conservative to some people (although lenient in some ways by Japanese standards, I believe), since the RP is set in Japan. Characters can, of course, break school rules~
- I will be rolling out school events once in a while.
- According to what I read, many (not all) wealthy Japanese aren't very flashy or ostentatious; they may purchase expensive goods, but said goods aren't always so obviously expensive. Do go look it up for yourself if you have the time (and feel free to correct me if I made any mistakes).
- Please do feel free to ask me any questions, or even correct me if anything!
- Classes are split into A to E (i.e. 1-A, 1-B, 2-A, 2-B and so on) based on grades.
- Yuugen uses the trimester system, similar to most schools in Japan. The first term runs from April 1 to late July; the second term from early September to late December and the third term from early January to late March. Students get a two-week-long break for New Year's at the end of the year, and a brief week-long spring break—during which they are free to go home.
- Students must be in the main building by 8.15 a.m. The broadcasting committee has a morning section that starts around 8.10 a.m and continues until 8.30 a.m, which is when homeroom begins. Homeroom lasts for 15 minutes, and classes start at 8.45 a.m. Core classes run from 8.45 a.m to 1.00 p.m. There's a 50-minute lunch break then, after which classes resume, with students heading to their respective electives. Classes finish at 3.00 p.m, and club activities are held after that, with each club setting their own specific meeting days and times.
- If absent, students must report to their homeroom teacher stating the reason for their absence. Students who are absent from class for more than three days without a given/valid reason will be called to the disciplinary teacher's office. Students who are working (e.g. actors, singers, models) should discuss with the school counselors and respective subject teachers to make adjustments for conflicting work schedules and schedule make-up classes/tests.
- No public displays of affection (PDA) allowed, particularly in the main building.
- Pets are allowed everywhere except the main building. The school, however, provides minimal services for pets—there is only one vet on standby, and one or two pet stores on the Avenue.
- A maximum of one bodyguard is permitted per student—the school also has its own safety/security measures, which should be sufficient; bodyguards are merely for the student and parents' peace of mind. Bodyguards must also dress and act accordingly so as to not distract students from their studies.
- All students are required to stay in the residence halls, unless granted special permission. Students who are working (e.g. actors, singers, models) must give notice to the residence hall director if they have to stay away from campus for a period of time or cannot stay in the residence halls at all.
- In the main building, the uniform must be worn at all times during school hours, and neatly. Skirts must pass fingertip-length. Students can wear sportswear of their own choosing during PE. However, anything revealing (including tank tops and singlets) or indecent are not allowed, and shorts must pass fingertip-length. Outside of school hours, students can wear their own casual clothing in the main building, provided they follow the rule of not wearing anything too revealing or indecent.
- Makeup and accessories are allowed, provided they are minimalistic and non-ostentatious. Boys are not allowed to wear piercings.
- Hair that passes the shoulders must be tied up. Boys' hair must not touch the shoulders at all.
- Only black and white socks are allowed.
- No regular attire checks are conducted. All dress code violations will be decided upon and handled at disciplinary teachers' discretion.
