Personality: Serious, focused, and ever alert, he is reminiscent of a small angry dog. He is devoted to uncovering the truth in all things, and lives to know everything. Never one to back down from a challenge, he confronts every issue head on, with all the fervor he can muster. However, his fiery personality is rather overwhelming and often leads him to be unconcerned with the consequences of his actions. He often comes off as aggressive and off-putting. As a result, he has no friends. Growing up as someone who was left at home frequently, he is less bothered by this than the average child, but still struggles with the idea of maintaining close relationships. In addition, despite his desire to be seen as mature and wise, he still retains the naivete of a child, and struggles with his wish to be taken seriously and seen as an adult.
Background: Yuji is the only son of two worldly, respectable, and very busy executives. They wanted him to have a path to success from an early age, so in addition to instilling a drive for achievement, they invested in lessons in reading, English, and early math and logic skills from near infancy. He was frequently left at home whilst his parents went abroad on business, and his tutors were often his caregivers as well. As his skills developed, he used this time to read anything he could get his hands on. Although fiction rarely interested him, mystery novels tested his skills and fostered his interest in sleuthing.
When it came time for him to finally enroll in school, his know it all attitude impressed teachers, but alienated him from his classmates. His lack of friends and ties to his elementary school made it easy to deviate from the local school system to pursue better education in middle school. A Choshi local, he came to SHIS for its' academic excellence and closeness to home. He also joined the sewing club (due to its' lack of members who disliked him and) to develop fine handiwork skills.

Role: On the constant hunt for truth, he is determined to uncover the secrets behind the oddly behaving members of the school.
