Yu Narukami(Persona)

Yhu Narukami

Stoic-Protagonist
The Fool

History

An unusual transfer student who was sent to Inaba to stay with his uncle Dojima for a short period of time, with a knack for kendo and running into odd situations, there's hardly a normal day for the young swordsman. Along side his peers and close friends, Yuu juggled high-school and leading a rescue team to save individuals who were thrown into an isolated place known as the "T.v world", a place where dark secrets of every person in the world resides. The altered beings that the secrets manifest into within this world are identified as shadows. Using his training in kendo, his wits, and improvised martial-arts, Yu fights his way to achieve his goals. Whether it's through fighting shadows, or proving his mettle to another.

Within his social life at school no one outside his investigation team knows about what he does often after school hours. He's seen as a bright young man with a cool and collective facade, hardly ever seen brooding over anything in the slightest. Quite frankly, he wears a "poker-face" at all times, simply striding along with confidence in just about everything he does. Though Yu himself isn't judgmental and is very understanding for someone his age, he doesn't necessarily show his own afflictions. However, there is a sense of superiority hidden within the very depths of his mind.

Present Day

Currently resuming high school at Honnōji Academy as a 3rd year student.

Personality

A calm, collective, and level-headed teen with a motherly-tendency. He's often persistent in assisting those who are within anguish or simply just lost in their path. He probably won't leave until he achieves a genuine smile from you.

Powers and Abilities

Yu is capable of manipulating lighting - hence his name - augmenting his mobility and strength to a point of obtaining super human abilities.

STRENGTH: Coursing electricity throughout the muscles within his body, he can put forth enough power to carry about 425lbs. He is also able to conduct lighting to submerege his katana for lethal and clean slices.

MOBILITY: Using his alignment to the element of electricity, Yu can charge enough power into his legs to leap about 102 feet into the air, sprint up to 75 mph, and sustain a fall from 300 feet at the very most without suffering any significant harm; which were his ability to coat his entire body in a transparent armour of lighting, comes into play. Though the armour is not essentially bullet proof, it does ensures he lives through some of the most harshes impacts.

PROJECTILES: Within his capability, Yu can call down bolts of lighting even in the clearest of blue skies, however weather does play a role in this power. Depending on the condition of the clouds, he can call down thunder that's powerful enough to create a massive crater with enough focus. The most in clear weather being a bolt of lighting that can split a tree down the middle and cause mild to significant harm to his enemies.

IZANAGI(PERSONA): Yu's personal persona with - much like himself - a prentious name. Yu is able to call upon Izanagi so long as he can verbalize the words "Izanagi" & "Persona" along with the action of crushing the arcana-card within his hand. Losing his voice would make this utterly impossible. Upon being summoned, the persona acts as a defender; blocking attacks with his enormous blade and body.

He also breaks the hearts of every girl in town, you forget, by being in a relationship with all of them, including the Velvet Room gals (not that we'll get any closure with Margaret, the tease) and then deciding to hang with the guys during Valentines instead of his harem.

You also forget the Personas

Mada

Scathach

Zaou Gongen

Helel

Beelzebub

and all the other final Arcana personas he summoned against the Vs. Margaret duel and the Vs. Adachi duel in the Golden Animation remake. Izanagi is a low tier persona with the inability to keep up with the rest of the IT's Personas.

He's also an idiot, given by his ability to respond with things like "Go get em", when Kanji Tatsumi decides he wants to prove his manhood by charging the girls tent, "Kanji, no question" when asked who he'd like to see in a swimsuit, and "What the heck are you wearing?"/"Surprised it was a COMPLETE FAILURE" when the IT flops their attempt to surprise him during his return to Inaba.

His insecurities and his Shadow is revealed to be-- whoops, spoilers! Haha, almost trod on a mine there.

Dude, you gonna copy out a work from SMT/Persona, at least do it with heart.

All in all, effort made to write this, so I give it a

4 outta 10

Alright, first of all, know that I appreciate the time you took to read this over and even the fact that you went out of your way to respond. I sincerely do thank you for that.

I'm not sure if you possessed hostility when replying, but I suppose it IS criticism all the same.

This particular Yu Narukami was based on the original Shin Megami Tensei : Persona 4 Rpg. One who possesses no true personality. P4 Arena wasn't really all that interesting to me. I'll admit, the things I have listed may not be 100% accurate to the game itself, but in all honesty; it wasn't really meant to be right on the mark.

What he has done and will do is based on my virtues and ideas mixed in with the original Yu's stoic behavior. I stuck with a single female, so I didn't have a harem with the entire female cast. Also, I only used Izanagi through my entire gameplay.

This character was meant to be humble & levelheaded all and all, not exactly what you were picturing. If I have offended you with this.. personalized-description, then I apologize.

I actually thought I DID pour my heart into this.. Maybe it just didn't quite live up to your expectations alone.

But let's try to remember that he was originally a blank sheet of paper with no notes at all written upon it. Not even a name to begin with.

No, no, no hostilities. I've been told I sound a little rough around the edges when I shoot my mouth off. I guess it's natural. In any case.

So you're basing this Narukami off the non-canon Narukami, namely the Narukami of your playthrough. That being said, how did you decide that Narukami was Narukami, and not Souji Seta? Also, I wasn't basing my interpretation off P4A, because gods, 5A no skill is just stupid, and his character in p4a was faaaaaar different from what I see in the main games and the adaptations, which was why I was pleased to learn that Yosuke was actually accepted as the somewhat canonical protagonist in the manga adaptation for P4A. That's tossed out of the window in P4AU, though. You just cant have good things in life.

Non-sequiteur,

Whole game with Izanagi? Just Zio, Cleave, Rakukaja, Rakunda and Tarukaja? He's even weak to wind. Does Izanagi even get any skill mutations?

Even more non-sequiteur,

Oh, hey, speaking of which, if you're interested in a Persona RP that's in the making, you mind contributing to the thread in my signature?

I'm no archaeologist, but I'm betting Checkursaurus came before Wreckursaurus.

Ah, good to know. I was worried you weren't entirely rational, much like an extremist of a fan. Had me worried for a bit.

I could have went with Seto Souji, but not too many people know him by that name. Before the SMT team gave Yu a personality, he had no true name. You could literally call him anything and be right. Seto was just a platform, something to recognize him by, at least when it came to the manga that is.

But yes, I am portraying him as a non-canon Yu Narukami.

And yes, I actually did beat the game with Izanagi alone. I acted as a buffer and de-buffer for battles. The group is capable of doing a great deal of damage on their own, I just gave them an extra edge. Hardly ever attacked, really. I found it better to just defend when my work was done.

Izanagi receives skill-mutations when Yu obtains a change in arcana within the rpg.

You don't think that line is a bit...dismissive at all?
