You're My Bestfriend

Drew slung the backpack over his shoulder. He was so excited because he didn't have to carry a single scrap of paper. No paper, no pencils, just a laptop and the teacher assuming he was paying attention. He made his way across the quad, greeting other football players. He was currently on his way to a lecture hall for his English class. There was probably going to be several hundred people there, so he was going to take the time to catch up on some Netflix shows. Being one of the later people to arrive, the only empty seats were near the top. But that worked to Drew's advantage as he would be less likely to get caught. He quickly jogged up the stairs and took a seat in the last row.

Damon didn't really know how he felt about this, he was happy to start college, but there were just so many new people, maybe he should just stick to him self, and only focus on college, that would be a good idea. He was almost lost in his thoughts, when he saw the clock, he was late. "Damnit..." He said quietly, as he started to run up the stairs, with his paper and pencil in his hand, he did not have a laptop. As he got there, they had already begun, and Damon looked at the front row, and sighed when all the sets were taken, he just dumped down on the seat next to Drew, not really paying much attention to him, he just looked around.

Drew shifted in his seat as Damon sat down next to him. With someone right beside him, he had a lot less room. He opened up his laptop and plugged in his headphones as the professor walked in. He started going on about the course syllabus, and Drew quickly tuned him out as he signed into his Netflix account. The professor began to talk about how he required all of his students to be in a study group or pair.

Damon started to take notes as The professor started to speak, he was very quick, and got pretty much all details, but his heart almost stopped as he heard the word: Groups. He was gonna work together with someone, someone completely strange, He looked around, and people were already started to make groups, and it first at this point where Damon noticed the guy besides him, and saw that he was on Netflix and he sighed. Once again he looked up, to see that the most of the people were now in groups. He took a deep breath, and then turned back to Drew. "Hi, my name is Damon, and i wondered if you would be like to be in my group? I mean its okay if you dont want to, i understand, just plese be honest" He said with a nerves voice, and a little nervous smile on his face.

Drew heard a soft murmuring outside his headphones. But this one was a lot closer than the teacher's voice all the way down on the floor. Tugging out one of his headphones, he looked and saw everyone grouping themselves together. He turned to Damon just as he finished talking. "Be honest about what? Hey man, I wasn't paying attention. Can you tell me what we're doing?" He asked pausing his show and turning to face Damon.

Damon was pretty surprised that this guy did not listen to what The professor had to say, or actually not, he was on Netflix so it wasn't that surprising. He knew, that if he was gonna be in a group with this he, he would probably do the most of the work, but he didn't really mind that. He took another deep breath, and smiled a bit Drew. "The Professor said that he wanted us to be in study groups, and then I asked you if wanted to be in a group, with me, I'd you don't want to, I understand, please just be honest" he said, still with the nervous smile on his lips

When the guy recapped everything for Drew, he groaned. "Study groups?" If they required to do study groups, then that meant that this class was going to be far more interactive than he thought. Looking around, he noticed that most people were already in groups. "I don't think I really have a choice. You seem to be the only person available." He explained. He opened up a blank document on his laptop and turned it towards his new partner. "Put your info in and I'll stop by later today, okay?"

"Huh?" He first looked at the blank document on the screen, and then up at his partner. "Ehm, sure" He said, still with that little nervous smile on his lips. He placed his hands on the keyboard, wondering if it was a good idea to give this stranger his info, and how much info did he need? Mark sat there for a minute and just wonders, befor he than wrote his address, his name, age and phone number. "I dont know if you need more information about me?" He said, and looked up at Drew. The professor were soon done talking

Drew waited for him to finish putting his information in, and took a screen cap of the information. He now had his name, age, address, and number. "I'll um, call you or something. To warn you that I'm on my way." He noticed the professor leave and began packing his stuff into his bag. He had no intentions of befriending anyone outside of a sports team, but it seemed that now he no longer had a choice.

He nodded and smiled at him. "Okay, i will look fprward to working with you" He said, with a little laugh. He hoped that this guy was willing to work hard, to get good grades.

When school were done, Damon made his way outside with a book in his hand, it was about plants, and space, something that Damon was really interested in. As he walked he made his way down and walked passed the sports team, hearing people laughing made him look up, and he saw some boys point at him, and then laugh. Damon just looked down in his book, and tried to ignore it

As soon as he possibly could, Drew raced out of the lecture hall and left. He didn't want to do any work, and he really didn't want to do work with a partner. But that's the way the chips fell today. Running outside, Drew saw a group of teammates. He headed over and started chatting.

When he spotted Damon leaving, he brought up the whole partners situation.

Laughing, one of the guys looked between Damon and Drew, then back. "Dude you know he's gay right? I don't think you should use the word 'partners' when dealing with that I'm uncultured." He explained before the group turned to look and laugh.

Drew laughed at the joke, but it fell to a chuckle when he saw how quickly Damon dipped his head and tried to turn invisible. Hoping he wouldn't be spotted, he went to another class and a quick unofficial practice before texting Damon. "On the way. Just gotta take a shower."

Damon saw Drew standing with his friends, laughing at him. He was a bit disappointed in him, but still, many people liked to bully him, because he was gay. For the most time, he acted like it didn't hurt him, but it truly did hurt, pretty much actually .

Damon hear his phone, and took it out of his pocket and read the message Drew had send him. He sighed, and shook his head, befor he answers him. "Hey, you don't need to come over today, you can be with your teammates, I will just start working, I don't mind"

When he got to his house, he unlocked the door and stepped in. He lived in a nice little house alone, or he had a cat named James, he was a little cute kitten. Damon made his way to the living room, where he would let him self fall down on his back on the couch with a sigh, and then close his eyes. "Maybe this was a bad idea..." He said to him self, but then opened his eyes, when he felled James jump up on his stomach
