You're My Angel

Cassie-Roll

Stuck in a Solo Adventure in the Trash Bin
Hikaru had been flying for a while, he had recently been appointed a guardian angel, but he had lost where the person he needed to be watching was. Of course, this would be the first thing that happened to him on the job.

Hikaru hadn't even realized he was flying over a field until a couple shots rang out and pain seared into his wings. He yelped and in a blink of the eye found himself falling. When he hit the ground everything went black.

The angel was passed out on the ground, wings bleeding and shallow breaths escaping his lips.

Emiko had been trailing the woods for quite some time now. His grandparents were gone and his home was boring. He checked the animal traps, making sure there were no rabbits trapped inside. As much as his grandfather didn't like them hoping around, this is where they lived.

He brushed his medium length hair behind his ear, small blonde pieces falling out anyway. He groaned and let them stay where they were, hearing a large thud in the distance. To the right was more woods, and to the left was a field. His body gravitated towards the field, looking around at what the thud was.

Emiko spotted something white and feathery, but not noticing it was an angel, but rather thinking it was just a bird.

Hikaru still hadn't regained consciousness, his wing twitched a little. Because of the wounds he wouldn't be able to fly for a while, which was a big complication.

No one knew angels existed, so even though this situation was out of Hikaru's control, he could get in trouble for it. Revealing that angels do exist to the human race was a crime in heaven.

Emiko stepped closer to the 'bird' seeing a bloodied body. He cringed, and wanted to just run, but he couldn't. Maybe it's some sort of costume he thought, stepping around the body to see a face and closed eyes.

Then, Emiko wanted to run again. What if he's dead?.....no he thought, picking him up carefully. The soft wings brushed across his skin giving him goosebumps. He looked down at the man again before walking towards his home

When Hikaru woke up he found himself in a house he did not recognize. He blinked lazily a couple times and went to move, but pain ripped through him and he looked to his wings, which were now bandaged up. He looked around in a bit of a panic, he didn't know where he was and was terrified to find out... If the knowledge of angels fell into the wrong hands, he'd be screwed.

Emiko was downstairs fixing the man some water, and when he returned, he was awake. "Oh, you're awake. How was your sleep?" He asked, sitting on the edge of his bed, where the man was laid down. "Sorry, this must be so weird" He sighed, not knowing how to respond to what he had done.

"I'm Emiko...and you are..?" He asked, smiling faintly to the man

Hikaru's eyes widened slightly hearing that name, that was the person he had been searching for when he fell. "....i'm Hikaru...I'm your guardian angel.." He said, his voice quiet and hesitant, as if trying to determine how the other would react to the news.

Hearing what the man said shook Emiko. "Guardian angel? But....that's not possible. No, you're just feeling a little bad since you passed out..." Emiko said, knowing the man was probably still a bit 'loopy' from being unconscious

"How do you explain my bleeding wings then?" He asked, looking at Emiko and letting out a small huff. "I got lost trying to find you and I was shot down from flying."

"I don't know how to explain the wings..." Emiko sighed, and bit his lip. "But that's not right" He said, handing the man the cup with the water in it. "Where do you live? I can take you home" He whispered, looking to the floor

"You can't fly me all the way back to heaven.." He said and sipped the water casually. He didn't understand why he couldn't just accept that this was real and Hikaru was telling the truth.

"No....I can't..." Emiko said, looking over at the bandaged wings. "But....your wings...." He added quieter, and then groaned in frustration. "This doesn't make sense!" He pressed his palms to his eyes

Hikaru sighed. "You're just too stubborn to believe it's true." He said flatly and sighed. "But I'm here to watch over you and help you out."

Hearing being called 'stubborn' made him a bit angry, but he shook it off anyway. "Okay, okay. I'm sorry" He apologized, looking at the angel again. "But it really is true, isn't it? That angels are beautiful. Hell, you're living proof" He said before looking down at the ground again

Hikaru paused at that and his cheeks tined pink. "...I look the same as when I was alive.." He said quietly, a bit embarrassed from Emiko's comment.

"Woah" Emiko gasped at what he said. He hadn't changed much in his physical form, and he was still very good looking, Emiko, your gay is showing he thought, blushing slightly at the thought

Hikaru blushed more when Emiko gasped. He had never thought of himself as beautiful, so it was strange to be told that, especially by a human.

"..thank you.." He said, not sure what else to say about the compliment. He looked at Emiko, Hikaru felt he was more attractive than himself, Emiko was pretty handsome.

"It's only truth, isn't it?" Emiko asked, smiling. He considered what angels could do, then asking "What's Heavan like?". Emiko thought maybe the angel couldn't tell him, but it was worth a shot

Hikaru chewed his lip. "It's peaceful... There's a lot of rules.. But it's nice.." He said quietly and looked up at Emiko. "This is my first time being back on earth though... I missed it." He said quietly and sighed.

"What's so great about Earth?" He asked, crawling over into the space next to the angel, laying down, making sure not on his wings. "It sucks here"

"You didn't have the rules angels have. Heaven is strict and overbearing... You can't be yourself... You have to be 'perfect'...." He paused. "I don't remember my death... but I do remember there were some things I loved about earth.."

"But being perfect isn't yourself. It's like pretending to be some mindless clone" Emiko thought out loud. Heaven seemed like it would be somewhere away from rules" He said, unknowingly resting his head on the angel's shoulders

Hikaru blushed and looked at Emiko. "Don't you know the bible is just a whole book of rules angels have to follow? It's terrible but.. There's a lot I'm not allowed to do.." He said quietly and chewed his lip, shifting a little not sure if he liked Emiko resting his head against him.

Emiko realized he was resting his head on his shoulder as the angel moved, sitting up slightly embarrassed. "I'm sorry" He apologized, getting up from his bed. "Why don't you get some sleep?" He suggested, hurrying out of his room
