It was around the third week of college and Carter had already been late to class. Time management had never been a strong suit of his. He had a solid ten minutes to make it from his dorm to the other side of campus and be seated, or else he wouldn't be allowed to sit through the lecture today in English 101 and today would be a real shitty day to miss. They were apparently being assigned some huge project where you had to have a partner and being that he only had the class once a week, he was basically going to end up taking a 0 on a project if he didn't turn up. With his backpack on and his coffee in his other hand, he basically took off sprinting from the moment he opened up the dorm's door that led to the outside.

He made it to the class room with a solid three minutes to spare. He filed into the classroom along with the 200 other kids that were in the class and found an empty seat closer to the back. He kind of paid attention but in all honesty, he ended up going on his phone the majority of the time. Lectures killed him. He couldn't stand listening for the two hours they were stuck in there about stuff he didn't care about.

Atropa had been thoroughly enjoying college. She attended four classes a week, and worked at the coffee shop down the road from campus.

Currently, she was living in her own apartment, due to her parents and their large sum of money- and she loved it.

She'd never been one to share, so a roommate was out of the question. Her father had given her the keys to her apartment a week later, after she'd cried to him about having to share a room.

And for graduating from high school, she'd gotten a totally cute pastel blue bug to call her very own.

She'd been driving it as much as possible, showing it off.

Today's class was English. Not something she was particularly interested in, but she had to take it anyway. Mainly, she focused on art and history.

Their assignment today was a large project that would take most of the year to complete, apparently, and they would be partnered up.

Atropa had been in class way before the bell would go off, as usual, and had taken her seat in back, laptop out, ready to take notes.

Three minutes until the bell rang, and who else but Carter would show up? She'd dated him at one time, but that was over now.

Still, she didn't really like seeing him, if she could help it.

Looking around, she realized the only seat open was next to her. Sighing, she moved her bag off the seat and onto the floor, grudgingly opening it up for Carter.

Carter slid into the empty seat and looked over to the left to thank the person who'd moved their bag for him but instead he just smirked, seeing that it was Atropa. No shit. With the thousands of kids in the school and hundreds in the class, she'd be the one he had to sit next to.

They'd dated for a good while but they ended things fighting and it was pretty damn ugly. They had just really butt heads sometimes. Their last fight had been her accusing him of talking to, and flirting with, too many girls and him denying it. It was totally true though. He'd always been a flirt. He really had liked her though. They wouldn't have stuck together for like, seven months if he hadn't. They both could be stubborn and hardheaded which ended up being a terrible mix.

"Thanks gorgeous," He joked with a smirk and a wink. He laughed to himself and pulled his notebook and a pen from his backpack before putting it on the floor. He wasn't really in the note-taking mood but he supposed that he'd pretend just for shits and giggles. He put them on his desk then crossed his arms and leaned back.
