How does one erase their sins? Does genuine regret suffice or are sins to be compensated by deeds only? Or is the answer something else entirely? Can innocence even be regained once it has been soiled? The people of Hywraedra seem to have found the solution. It was a simple matter of equivalent exchange, really. One pure life, given willingly in sacrifice, could outweigh the sins of many and provide salvation to all. In the Dark Ages, volunteers were used and their families reimbursed, but the system was perfected in the Age of Enlightenment. Newly discovered technologies allowed for the birth of artificial beings - beings that were inhuman and therefore truly untouched by sin. Every twenty years, a Savior is burned at the stake and born anew from the ashes like a phoenix, ready to serve humanity again and again and again. This year, however, is special. Not because it's the 500th anniversary of the first Day of Sacrifice, but rather because the present-day Savior... vanished.
So yeah, that's the gist of it: slightly dystopian religious-themed futuristic fantasy about learning to accept responsibility and discovering what it means to be human. No, don't run, it's not all just philosophy, there will also be action and (maybe) romance! So, what do I want to do with this? I have no idea beyond what I've written and I want YOU to help me decide! The possibilities are endless. Perhaps the Savior just said to herself "screw humanity!" and decided to run away in favor of discovering what the world was all about. Maybe she was kidnapped by someone who believed the system to be wrong and wanted her to experience a shred of normal life. Or did something entirely different happen? Tell me all about it and your character's role in the maelstrom of events! Or would you like to take on the role of the Savior herself? It's cool, just present me with your vision! There's nothing I hate more than partners who don't contribute, so if you contact me with mere "Hi, I'm interested!", I'm not even gonna respond. Sorry, but this is a cooperative effort and I don't wish to carry the story myself. I want to feed off of your creative energies! You don't need to hit me up with a whole detailed plot - I don't have one, after all, so it would be hypocritical of me - but you should provide some ideas for this to work.
Additional information:
- an ESL here, so don't expect perfect grammar all the time
- mentally ill (severe OCD), so posting may be sporadic at times, however I promise to communicate and I should be able to deliver at least one post per week, probably more if I'm feeling okay
- can promise at least three paragraphs per post, likely more if I'm inspired
- love to chat OOC about various things, both game-related and off-topic
- a 24 year old woman, so do not contact me if you're uncomfortable with roleplaying with an adult
- actually rather friendly, but an expert at making the worst first impressions ever, so you probably already think I'm mean
Well, that should be all. Feel free to contact me!
