Realistic or Modern Quicksilver Sonics

St-James High school volleyball team starts with only 7 members and fights its way tooth and nail through the rankings of their local league against teams made up of fully fledged adults. Each of the members is known for their own specialization and they have the potential to become olympic level however when the school is shut down due to a lack of funding they all disappear to different schools. A year passes and they finally meet again, though they all attend different high schools they reform the team under a new name - the Quicksilver sonics - and enter the national league - division 3. Their ultimate goal is to play at the olympics and win the gold for Britain.

These are the roles I had in mind (you can play a male or female character however we would need at least 3 women characters to field a mixed-gender team):

Setter(1) - master manipulator of the ball, able to place it almost anywhere on court if he gets a good ball in, based mostly on intelligence and dexterity

Ace hitter(2) - The power-player, this player can take on three blockers and still make the ball go down, based mostly on strength and size

Opposite hitter(1) - The fast hitter who moves quickly to where the opponents aren't and is too fast to block - despite lacking the ace's strength, based mostly on speed and agility

Middle blocker(2) - The defensive commander, ensuring the enemies hits can't get past the net and delivering reliable hits when given the ball, based mostly on size and co-ordination

Libero(1) - The guardian of the court, ensuring nothing touches the floor without a fight, possibly the most crucial part of the team, based on co-ordination and speed

Coach(1 - optional) - The observer, noting every move the enemy make and how they can counter it - also in charge of training the team and making them stronger, based mostly on intelligence and adaptability

Even though these roles seem linear feel free to customize your character, is he/she a genius digger, can they serve like a god, play around with it - I'll tell you if I think a character is too strong. Bear in mind though that these players aren't olympic standard, they're just young and have the potential to become olympic standard so don't make them too strong.
