HELLA QUEER
In this universe, everyone has an alter ego. Someone who is the exact opposite of you. The idea of this alter ego is that they are the side of you that you never thought you could be. For example, a shy nerdy kid who's not very outgoing and their alter is a social butterfly who is incredible at sports and can literally be friends with everyone.
You don't meet this alter ego until you hit puberty. So for girls around age 13 and for boys around age 14. It varies from person to person. And it's not some grand separation of two parts of yourself, for most people, they go to sleep by themselves, and wake up with someone next to them. Then, you have until you turn 21 to decide if you want to stay the same, and your alter ego goes away, or if you want to become your alter ego, and the two of you become one person. However in this universe it is extremely taboo to become one with your alter. They get a bad reputation as being the "evil twin" and if you decide to become one with her alter you can be shunned from society.
Alters comes in many different forms. For most, they look like a twin who has a very similar name to you. (So basically a twin) However for some, their alter could be the opposite gender. For example, a little 14 year old boy meets his alter and she's a little 14 year old girl with long hair and pretty eyes. That's rare but it is possible and if you become one with your alter in that case, you become that opposite gender. And I don't think I have to tell you how taboo that is. Other examples of Alters having differences are sometimes they don't look anything like you, but what you always wished you looked like. You've always hated your big nose and they have a small dainty one, or you've always wanted red hair and look what your alter has! This is also pretty rare but it has been seen on occasions. And sometimes your alter will have a different sexuality than you. For example a straight guy and his alter is a gay guy. You get the picture. Alters don't have to be carbon copy of you with a different personality. They can come in many different shapes and sizes.
So this roleplay takes place in high school with characters in their junior and senior years, so everyone has already met their alters. It's a slice of life roleplay with interactions between characters and their alters. I'm looking for four players max to play two characters (not including the alters) each so we've got plenty of characters and ways to further the plot line. Characters should be diverse and interesting. I'm not looking for you to write me a novel each time you post but you characters should be well thought out and complex, and take your alter into account.
