The day everything happened was a dark day. Rain was falling from the sky and thunder rumbled in the distance. The air had a cool chill to it. Everything was quiet as if waiting for something to happen. That is until a carriage broke the silence as it raced down an old and broken down dirt road that was turning to mud. The carriage was decorated with various things that told anyone looking at it the social status of the owners. Inside the carriage was a family. The family was small only one child with their mother and father. They all wore expensive clothing that anyone during the time could only dream of owning. The family was all royals. The father a king the mother a queen and lastly the child was a princess. The family was heading to a party a neighboring kingdom was hosting. The weather had slowed them down some since following the road was hard as it got more and more muddy. The young princess was asleep with her head on her mothers lap while the king was the one driving the carriage to their destination.
It had been hard for the king to see the path due to all the rain. Due to this he had veered off course and onto a road he wasn't supposed to follow. This caused them to get more and more lost the further down the path they go. The king had refused to turn back and continued onward. This was a mistake as they had headed into a land that was owned by bandits. These bandits had seen the carriage and followed it closely on horse back. They were going to steal what ever they could from the royal family. They waited till the royal family were to far into bandit territory to get out very easily before attacking. As soon as the time was right the leader of the bandits attacked first. He road his horse to the carriage and cut the ropes connecting the royal horses to the carriage. This caused the king to loose control of the vehicle. It kept going till it crashed into a group of trees at full speed. This caused the carriage to flip over onto its side injuring the Royal family badly. The queen held onto her child closely trying to protect the princess from as much harm as possible. The king had been knocked out and laid on the wet ground blood staining the ground due to his injuries.
The bandits took this opportunity to round up the royal family. They got off their horses ropes in hand. They split up a few going to the king while the rest opened the carriage to get the queen and princess inside. The queen held tight to her child who in turn held tight onto her. The bandits swung open the carriage door and climbed in grabbing onto the queen and young princess tightly. The bandits then roughly pull them out of the carriage and pushed them onto the ground before tying them up. The queen tried to fight back but ended up getting hit by one of the bandits and tied much tighter then she would have been originally. The princess didn’t fight back due to being afraid for her life. Once tied up the bandits went through the items that the family had and took what ever they deemed valuable enough to take.
When everything was done with the bandits discussed with each other on what they should do with the family. It had been agreed on that the family were to be killed as to not risk the bandits being caught and locked up. One of the weaker links of the group spoke up saying they should keep one of them alive to make them live their life knowing what happened that day and so they could take over and rule them selves. The leader like this idea and agreed to it. That night the princess had lost her family and was let go to fend for herself. The princess had been carelessly dropped off at the kingdom she was supposed to go to for the party on the outskirts of the town. Tied up and unable to move much. She had been later found by townsfolk who took her to the family that owned the kingdom. She was later sent home to her kingdom and she had to rule her kingdom on her own with little guidance and the memory of that night.

The young princess sat quietly by herself in the throne room going through documents that have classified details in them. The throne room was quiet and no one sat in it but her. All of her guards stood outside the room giving her privacy. Since she is so young to be in charge many other kingdoms have tried to take advantage of her and take over. She managed to avoid these tricks and keep her kingdom safe for the time. The princess sighed and set down the documents carefully before standing up and walking around the room. She was bored but knew she had duties to attended to. She had been forced into growing up quickly since the incident which was hard on her and the kingdom. Many do not believe she is fit to rule especially not alone. Some people have been trying to get the princess to marry a prince to be in charge but she always refused as she wasn't ready for marriage. The weather outside was gloomy as it was going to rain. She didn't enjoy the weather when it was rainy as she was afraid of those days due to her past. She looked out the window before returning to her seat as she had been pacing around for sometime. She read over the papers again. A few talked about bandit attacks while another one talked about a near by kingdom coming over for a visit to discuss somethings about their alliance and what they could do to keep things going strong. The royal family of the other kingdom were to show that day. The princess sighed and put away the papers before putting them in a hidden spot under her chair as the ones she hadn't read over were very important and talked about trading and other alliance stuff she had. She started to make her way through the halls of the castle to prepare for her guest.
