JD watches her and holds her hand gently. "Lay with me." He whimpers and watches her. He just wanted her. He had been so afraid he wasn't gonna see her ever again when the beating started.

She nodded and lay next to him carefully, pulling the blanket up for him, just resting her head against his and rubbing his shoulder gently, it seemed to be the only part of him not injured. “I’m right here papí, I’m not going anywhere I promise.” She coaxed gently, trying to soothe him the whole time. “I was so worried about you. But I was never angry JD.” She assured him.

JD nods a little and nuzzles his face in her neck. "I missed you so much." He murmurs softly and closes his eyes. "I just wanted you to be safe. I just wanted to see you one more time." He murmurs and pulls her closer. He whimpers a little as he pulled at some stitched but refused to let go of her.

“Shh, shh it’s okay. I’m right here sweetheart, get some rest okay?” She murmured gently to him. “I’m gonna be right here when you wake up.” She promised, smoothing his hair back a little while she waited for him to drift off. “Jorge you gotta lay still baby you can’t be pulling on stitches.” She murmured still trying to get him relaxed enough to fall asleep.

JD holds onto her and kisses her cheek. He nods a little and slowly starts to fall asleep. He holds onto her and sleeps as peacefully as he could.

She stayed close to him, eventually moving to sit in the chair but stayed next to him, holding his hand tightly and watching him some until josh came back in the room. “I’m glad you were able to get to him in time.” She mumbled.

Josh sighs softly. “Look we didn’t have any reason to believe he had been compromised.” He murmurs. “We don’t know how they found out.”

She frowned shaking her head. “He told you what his concerns were and they were ignored and I don’t mean you personally I mean the whole damn team. You put his life on the line by sending him back out this time.” She muttered just holding his hand tightly.

Josh sighs. “It’s the job Carmen and he knew that when he signed up for this. It’s not a pretty part of the force and it’s messy.” He murmurs softly.

“I’m not arguing with you right now. I know you’re close friends outside of the force anyway so tell me this would you be happy to see this happen to him if it wasn’t your job?” She snapped before turning away from him and just resting in the chair, holding his hand the whole evening.

Josh sighs and just leaves her alone.

JD wakes up a few hours later and looks over st her. He stretches carefully and rubs his eyes.

She smiled at him a little getting him some water, getting the bed raised so he could sit up better before handing him the cup, sitting with him. “How you feeling handsome?” She asked him quietly.

JD looks over at her and sips the water. “Sore.” He murmurs and caresses her cheek gently. He smirks a little at her.

She smiled at him some. “I know babe you’re gonna be sore for a while.... look I know I needed a lot of attention because I got shot but you didn’t need to try and top me.” She teased, turning her face and kissing his palm.

JD laughs softly and drops his hand. "Sorry." He murmurs softly and finishes his water. He leans back and glances down at the stitches above his heart.

“Maybe I should pay them more next time.” She giggled and leaned over, pecking his cheek. “You doing okay though?” She asked quietly, taking the cup from him to set down on the side.

JD smiles a little at her and nods. "Yeah." He murmurs and sighs softly. "You know this is gonna put us both in a lot more danger now though. If you don't wanna stick around now I understand." He murmurs softly.

She shook her head. “Sweetheart I knew what I was signing up for. I’m not going anywhere alright?” She murmured, gently rubbing his hand. “Get some rest, I’m gonna go get some food but I should be back soon okay?” She murmured gently to him, staying until he was asleep and she got up to go get food, nodding to the officer posted outside his door.

JD sighs softly and nods. He didn’t want anything to happen to her. He sighs and soon falls asleep. He turns over and relaxes.

Carmen got down to the canteen to grab some food seeing josh was still there and sighed some. “If you wanna go see him, he’s just fallen asleep but I can wait down here a while so you two can talk.” She told him quietly.

Josh looks at her and sighs. "Carmen I'm sorry. I should have listened to him more and helped get him out of the assignment." He murmurs and watches her. "I'm glad hes okay."

She shook her head. “Just... learn for the next time you have a similar situation.” She told him. “Physically he should be okay... I don’t think he’s alright mentally right now. I’m his girlfriend now though. Not his therapist and I can’t blur those lines for us.... he’s gonna need another evaluation though.” She told him seriously before going to get her food.

Josh sighs and nods. He heads up to the room to go see him for a bit. He was still asleep though so he took a seat to wait for him to wake up.

Carmen stayed away for a good long while so they could talk then eventually made her way back up to the room and went to sit by his bed seeing josh had finally left. “Hey... how you feeling?” She asked him quietly
