Hey-ho and welcome to my search thread! People call me Salty
I've been RPing for.. Hmm, around the eight year mark? Sounds about right. In all that time I only ever really RPed M/M as a top/bottom/switch (my preference is switch but I'll do any), though I don't mind side pairings that are M/F or F/F, so long as they aren't the main focus!
I'm twenty + years old (would prefer not to disclose my exact age), and I have a penchant for all things creative. This includes scrap-booking, drawing, painting, writing etc.
As of right now I'm unemployed and have been out of school for a while, so I've got a mountain load of free time on my hands.
That, of course, means I have a lot of time for RP and any other shenanigans I get up to. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Yup, the section that everyone hates reading. Unfortunately it's an important part of threads, so here it is in all its glory under a spoiler.
grammar: All I ask for are coherent sentences that I can read and semi-decent spelling. I also heavily prefer that you know the differences between you're/your, they're/their/there etc. It's a pet peeve of mine and I find it incredibly difficult to overlook it. But above all else, please always double check your posts before sending them to me. Yeah, it's hilarious when auto correct strikes and turns bug spray into brownies, but I really don't want to see indecipherable posts riddled with spelling mistakes.
age: I'm twenty + years old and as such I find it extremely uncomfortable to roleplay with anyone under the age of eighteen. Sorry y'all, but if you come to me and your profile says you're fourteen I'll shut you down on the spot without mercy, and no. I won't make exceptions if you say please. To add to this, I also have to ask that all of your characters be over eighteen as well. MC will always be above the age of consent and I will not pair them up with anyone under that age.
characters: This one's a long one. For starters, don't godmod, don't come to me with Mary Sue characters nor fragile characters made of glass, and do not, ever, come to me with a whiny "uke" that cries whenever a fly lands on him. Just don't. Next up, flesh out your characters. It's pretty obvious when you come to someone with an underdeveloped 2D neko boy. I can understand adding aspects to your character's personality that you discover in RP over time and a backstory you're still working on, but please put a little effort in. Lastly, do not come to me with a character whose backstory is overly tragic/angsty. An example of this is a character whose parents have been killed, been experimented on and tortured etc etc. It's unoriginal and quite frankly bores me half to death. I'm sorry if I seem blunt and rude, but this really gets on my nerves.
collaboration: This is incredibly important. If you're a "passive" player who relies solely on your partner to get the ball rolling or to push the plot forward, please hit the back button now. I will not be the sole driving force that keeps our roleplay going. If you want that, go write a book. A roleplay is between two or more people and as such it is a collaborative effort. You should be pushing the plot forward as much as I am, give or take, and the same goes for brainstorming. If you don't brainstorm with me pre-roleplay then I'll probably lose interest and/or refuse to roleplay with you on the spot. I can't and won't RP with people who put no effort in while I pour my heart and soul into it.
locations: I'll happily roleplay in threads on RPN, PMs and on Discord. I find brainstorming on Discord much easier and even prefer it, but it's not a must. So if you have Discord, don't be afraid ask me for my user!
post length, frequency & pov: No one liners please, and stick to third person past/present tense! I write a minimum of three chunky paragraphs a reply and can go right up to novella length posts if you give me enough to go off, and while I heavily prefer present tense, I am very accustomed to writing in past tense and have no problem with doing so. I always have a preference for matching my partner's posts, but one-liners and anything under three paragraphs are not enough for me. With that being said, the longer my replies are, the longer I'm going to take. I can range from a post a day to two or three a week, but I can't rapid-fire them at you, so patience is a must. I'm a slow writer and don't write well under pressure.
mature themes: As per the site rules, any and all "mature" scenes posted on this site will fade to black.
pestering/poking: I don't mind being reminded once or twice a week, but please don't pester me every ten minutes to reply. I may not have a job but I do have a social life and other things I occupy myself with, so I won't be RPing 24/7.
muse: This is a bit hard to explain, but I'll do my best. I have a very fickle muse that can and will jump from one roleplay to the next. That means I might reply to one more often than another, but I tend to make it as equal as possible. If you push too much, pressure me for replies and start complaining or chuck a tantrum about how I haven't responded to you yet, then I will quickly lose my interest in not just our roleplay, but also every single one I am involved in. I cannot deal with pressure and find it extremely difficult to reply when this happens, so please don't be that one person who ruins it for everyone just because I replied to someone else before you.
ghosting: This is a tad touchy, but I'm gonna address it anyway. I despise being ghosted and while I won't hold it against you, I will probably be unwilling to RP with you again for a period of time. It really isn't that hard to send a four word PM stating "I'm no longer interested." I understand that anxiety is a prevalent issue for a lot of people (I have been diagnosed with severe anxiety myself and even see a psychologist for it, so believe me when I say I get it), but it's never going to get better if you keep avoiding it like the plague.
flirting OOC & pet names: It seems to me that a lot of people on here like to do this, but please understand that I am NOT my character. I don't appreciate being flirted with ooc unless it is meant as a joke. It makes me extremely uncomfortable when done seriously, as does strangers calling me affectionate things like "darling" and "love". Please don't. If you do, I'll ask you to stop. If you keep going, I'll block you without a word.
race: I've had a lot of people over the years complain about the fact that I don't always use white characters. If you've got a problem with diversity and me using characters that aren't strictly white, then I have no time for you.

Contrary to how it looks up there ^, I'm actually a pretty easy going person and I like a whole range of things.
If you like some of the same stuff as me but don't want to RP, by all means PM me to gush about it! I always have something to say and I'm incredibly friendly (again, contrary to the above,) so I love to chat.

twisted characters: I don't know about anyone else but I adore twisted characters. Killers, fanatics, obsessive characters, unstable characters, etc etc. I also love playing villains and misunderstood baddies, morally grey characters and ones that just don't care.
diversity: I could gush about this all day. I absolutely love seeing diversity in my own characters, my partner's characters, and in just about every aspect of RP in general. This includes POC, LGBTQA+, mental and physical disabilities and so on. Gimme Greeks and Indians, nonbinary asexuals, transmen and women, deaf characters, blind characters, characters with depression and PTSD, etc. Just please make sure to do the research and play these sorts of characters properly.
monsters: I don't know why, but I absolutely dig monsters. Give me monsters with a soft side, possessive beasts who get jealous easily, or one that's learning what it is to feel things. Like I said up there, I love diversity no matter what form it takes.
casual magic: I would kill for some casual use of magic in RPs, particularly in urban fantasy/fantasy plots! Let's make a character flick his hand to light a candle, or snap his fingers to turn a light on. I love it all.
