Face Nemesis
BLADE Mechanic
(Note: This roleplay will follow the original game's story, with some modifications to fit the larger group. Spoilers for Xenoblade Chronicles X will be present, including some within this Roleplay's overview. If you don't want to see spoilers, I would advise against reading further.)
July, 2054 A.D. Two powerful alien armies waged war against one another, choosing the space around planet Earth as their battleground. The attack was sudden, and their technology was far beyond that any human had ever seen. The Earth was exposed to much of the aliens’ attacks, and after a few moments, was consumed in a great, fiery explosion. The Earth, humanity’s home for its entire existence, was no more. All hope was lost…
Or, it would have been if it wasn’t for Project Exodus. Aware of the oncoming alien assault, humanity prepared for the evacuation of Earth. New technology was created to assist the human species in escaping the battlefield, from large robotic suits known as Skells to massive Ark ships capable of transporting incredibly large groups of people. When the day came, these Ark ships blasted off into space, carrying the remnants of human civilization away while a majority of the species was left with no way to escape. However, the aliens targeted these ships, destroying all but one: The White Whale. The White Whale spent two years traveling through the depths of outer space, its crew searching for a habitable planet that would allow them to rebuild their ancient civilization. After two years, an alien army returned to the White Whale, attempting to wipe out this last group of humans. However, a hero was able to repel the attack and save the crew members. Finally, after two years, the White Whale found a planet to land on. However, it was not by choice. The gravitational force of a nearby planet overwhelmed the ship, pulling it to the ground. In the end, much of the ship was lost, but the habitat unit remained intact. Here, the humans who had been reawoken from their stasis attempted to build a new legacy, bravely facing all trials they would face…
Two months have passed since then. Humanity has rebuilt within the White Whale’s habitat unit, forming a large city based off of a traditional one that could be found within the United States. This city, New Los Angeles, is now the only safe place for its people. However, an organization known as BLADE has been formed to explore and learn more about Mira, the planet they crash landed on. Traces of other intelligent life forms have been found, and plans must be made in order to forge peaceful alliances with these other groups. The path to a unified society will be tough and long, but it is the only chance that humanity has for survival, especially with alien threats looming in the distance…
However, these aliens are far from the only issue that humanity now faces. In the crash landing, the White Whale lost its Lifehold unit, which is where many humans lie in stasis. In fact, those who are inhabiting NLA are actually robotic puppets known as mimeosomes, which are being controlled by the minds of humanity remotely from the Lifehold. BLADE must find the Lifehold if they wish to gain their natural bodies once again, but the road to its discovery will be difficult...
