Face Nemesis

BLADE Mechanic

Mira is made up of five continents: Primordia, Noctilum, Oblivia, Sylvalum, and Cauldros. On top of this, New Los Angeles has four major segments: The Administrative District, the Residential District, the Commercial District, and the Industrial District. All BLADE operatives should get to know all nine of these locations.

New Los Angeles

Administrative District

latest

The Administrative District is where most BLADE members will spend a lot of their time. This district has everything a BLADE could need, from shops to buy important gear to other areas that will help them out in their journeys. Most of these key locations can be found on the upper level of the Administrative District, which can be reached by a lift on the lower level. Armory Alley is where BLADE operatives can buy Ground Gear (Armor and weapons that they use when fighting outside of a Skell) as well as Skell Gear (Armor and weapons that are equipped to a Skell), and also develop new gear and improve what they already own. This is also where the Mission Board can be found, which is a database containing all mission requests made by the people of New Los Angeles. The Mimeosome Maintenance Center is an important location for those who have been damaged in battle and need to repair their mim. The Barracks can also be found here, which is a place for BLADE members to rest after missions, manage their Skells, and discuss upcoming journeys. A gate out into Primordia can be found by the Barracks, making for a great way in and out of the city. Finally, BLADE Tower is the main landmark here. This skyscraper is where the Director General Maurice Chausson stays with both his secretary Nagi and BLADE's commander, Vandham. If a BLADE member must meet with one of these men, it will typically be within BLADE Tower. The tower has a large screen on the outside wall facing all of NLA, and Chausson can use this to deliver messages to all of his citizens. The screen also has what appears to be a countdown timer in the form of a percentage that is always lowering, but its importance is only known to high-ranking BLADE officers. The lower level of the A.D. is the Skell Hangar, where BLADE operatives can be found working on their Skells.

Residential District

latest

NLA's Residential District is where the citizens of the city live, play, and relax from the stress they might encounter due to their new foreign home. Rows of houses can be found here and bought by citizens who wish for a large home of their own. The city's water purification plant also lies here, helping to provide safe water for the community. A small park is a good place for citizens to take a stroll or rest, and a few sport fields are excellent for recreational activities. The final major landmark here is the Cathedral, where people of all religious beliefs can come to worship and gain spiritual support. A BLADE member named Hope Alonzi also often stays at the cathedral and gives advice to those who have concerns.

Commercial District

NLA's commercial district is where citizens can go if they need any sort of supplies, food, or more. Various restaurants and coffee stands can be found here, which are fantastic places for BLADE members to go for a feast once a mission is completed. Other stores, such as clothing stores, department stores, and more, can be visited here if the need arises. You won't find any combat gear, but for anything else, head to the C.D. to get what you need!

Industrial District

NLA's Industrial District is where all sorts of machinery and gear is manufactured, tested, and then sent off to stores. A small Skell development facility can be found here, with all sorts of engineers looking for eager test pilots to try out various new design ideas. Various crates filled with equipment line the gate into NLA that can be found here, and citizens might have to be careful to not get in the way of any Skells helping to move things around. A small, old-time diner can also be found here, serving as a place for workers to visit while on break. Of course, any citizen can visit if they would like to!

Regions of Mira

Primordia

latest

Primordia is the region where the White Whale's Habitat Unit crash landed, making this the new home of Earth's citizens. The rugged, mountainous territory can make it difficult to traverse, although it also allows for all sorts of incredible scenery within this region. Various rivers and lakes can also be found within Primordia, including a few with spectacular waterfall displays. One rock formation known as Talon Rock soars high above the ground below it, and it's impossible to summit without the ability of flight. The region has an abundance of green plant life, and many herds of beasts such as Grexes and Simiuses roam the lands. A small passage to the west serves as an entrance to Noctilum, while Oblivia lies to the east of Primordia.

Noctilum

Xenoblade-Chronicles-X-Screenshots-1.jpg

Noctilum is essentially a massive jungle, with towering trees and gigantic plants making up most of the landscape here. Giant pools of waters are also commonly found, with many large rivers, lakes, and waterfalls dominating the areas with less tree and plant growth. Atop some trees in Noctilum lies a group of vine bridges, connecting them for easier travel. It is unknown who or what made these bridges, or what they were initially intended for. Plant-like creatures and reptiles can be found throughout the region. The northern area of Noctilum has two particularly interesting regions. The first is an area that is oddly devoid of any plant life, and appears to be a barren wasteland. Strange monsters prowl this ground, and it has been avoided by BLADE operatives in fear of what dangers may lie here. The second is the Divine Roost, an area atop the largest waterfall in the region. This area has also been avoided by BLADE up to this point.

Oblivia

latest

Oblivia is a desert-like region, with large, craggy peaks breaking up the otherwise barren landscape. Oblivia is almost devoid of plant life, although some water does flow through the region. Strange landforms can be found here that appear to be made by intelligent life as opposed to being naturally occurring, contributing to a bit of mystery within the region. A large, seemingly bottomless pit stretches a far distance near the entrance to Oblivia from Primordia, adding an additional danger to BLADE members who travel too close. Various caves can also be found, with some odd ruins potentially being unveiled if the right caves are explored. A large raised area near the eastern portion of the region hides a lake and more unnatural landscapes. Many strange, large creatures such as Cinicula make Oblivia their home.

Sylvalum

Xenoblade-Chronicles-X-12.jpg

Sylvalum is a strange region covered with snow, but also ash and some sand. Blizzards are frequent in this region, but beautiful auroras can also amaze visitors during the night. Strange claw-shaped ice formations jut out from the ground, rising high into the ground. A few icy peaks can also be found within Sylvalum. A body of water known as Ciel Lake can be found to the west, although it is incredibly shallow, and can easily be traversed on foot. Strange looking plants litter the ground, and odd glowing orbs in the sky cast an eerie yet beautiful light at times. One such orb, the Noctilucent Sphere, is easily the largest, and hovers high above Ciel Lake. Creatures adapted to the cold weather can be found here, including very large, slowly lumbering quadrupeds.

Cauldros

Xenoblade-Chronicles-X-Field-5.jpg

Cauldros is easily the most intimidating region within Mira. Much of the terrain is made up of black stone, and rivers of lava snake their way across the land. A few volcanic valleys can be found within Cauldros, as well as caves that weave their way beneath what appears to be the surface, but the lower levels have open walls that give a view to the pools of lava beneath. A large volcano can be found towards the northern portion of Cauldros, which occasionally spits out small volcanic rocks that pose a serious threat to BLADE members who attempt to traverse this region. Due to the many threats, Cauldros has been largely ignored by BLADE up to this point, though some minimal exploration has occurred. Dangerous beasts that can travel through lava have been found here.
