DistressedDisaster
If music is my soul then rhythm guides my feet
Matthew Williams
While Bexley and the others headed off to neutral territory with Jax, Matt continue scoping the remaining corpses along with a few other volunteers and an extra pistol. Anything that so much as seemed like it twitched took a bullet to the back of the head, no matter how mangled the body. But his aim on a couple ended a tad more askew than he;d like as exhaustion and stress threw themselves at his feet to simply trip him in his overall goal. He planned to head back after the sweep and count of deceased, hopefully for something to eat before he went out scouting with Nik. Unfortunately, the sweep took longer than he would have liked, leaving him to grab some water and his bat before beginning off to meet with Nik by the gates.
It was a moderately lengthed walk out to the meeting area beside the gates, and he spent the time double checking himself to make sure he had everything, glasses, guns, ammo, the usual. As well as a small roll of bandages just in case, and a filled water canteen he'd managed to grab on his way out. With this all accounted for, he settled in to wait on Nik's arrival, double and tripling checking his weapons and equipment while he waited. His hands still shook slightly on occasion, which was annoying but manageable if he could be patient enough to wait it out. But at this moment, he kept his hands out of sight as he waited, bouncing his leg and listening to the bat clink softly against the metal hooks of its case on his back.
In all honesty it was tempting to just close his eyes for a few moments of semi-peace. But knowing himself well enough, that would only accomplish seeing everything again or falling asleep. Neither of which being an appealing option to take at the moment. So he kept himself occupied fiddling with an empty shotgun shell in his pocket, feeling the grooves under his fingertips as he listened to the wind blowing past him.
