The Western Leader could feel the eyes on her at the suggestion of working together with the East, this typically wasn't her style, working together. In fact, the word itself was now foreign to her, blue eyes glanced to Theodore briefly, wondering if he understood the concept...how could they be trusted? Her shoulders tensed as Nik spoke, listening to his words. He seemed for it, but Bex knew that the man was on the same boat as she, looking for those who were lost. Bexley to Nik who stood beside her, her head nodded ever so slightly. Every bone in her body screamed for her to retract her offer, it wasn't worth risking the safety of the entire faction over one stranger. Bexley's jaw set as she tried to shuffled through her racing thoughts. Godfrey spoke before she could get too caught up in them, agreeing to the idea of meeting in midtown.

She caught Theo's head nodding but could care less if he agreed or not...at least that's what she was trying to convince herself at the moment. The woman glared at him for a few moments, catching his eyes before looking towards Jax, who was fiddling with a few blades of grass on the ground. The bastard was on the East side, the Western leader couldn't just step over the line, as close as she had gotten to it before. "Fuck." She huffed out before shaking her head and looking to Godfrey again.

"Since he is on your side, I guess you will be hauling his ass to the Midtown meeting ground: 432 Park Avenue Condos, between 56th and 57th street, 2nd floor." Bexley's attention turned to Jax sharply as he let out a sigh that seemed to show relief. The man looked to the Western Leader with wide eyes before chuckling, "I think they are just better company, that's all." Shrugging his shoulders, the man looked to Godfrey and Theo, "So how's this gonna work? You cuffing me or something? Cuz, i mean, that's more of a turn on..." He put on a charming smile as he held out his wrists in front of him. Bex stared at the man, a bit dumbfounded at how cooperative he was being, wondering what the man had to hide. Most would say nothing, but everyone had their secrets...her eyes flickered to Theo once again before darting away. "Should take about 30 minutes to get there. You don't show, we will be forced to come pick up what's rightfully ours...don't be late."

432 Park Avenue Condos: 2nd Floor

The walk to the abandoned Condominiums was the easy part of the trip, a short distance from where they were in central park, the building was constructed to split East and West Midtown, becoming the official neutral ground for both Factions. It hadn't been used in years, there was no need for it when both sides were tense with each other. Bexley was relieved that the meeting place was only on the 2nd floor. She looked to the stairwell that revealed the long length of stairs that went up to the 96th floor, gulping ever so slightly as she walked ahead towards the dusty round table with chairs that sat about 16. Looking to Mick, Jay and Nik, she offered a small nod before looking towards the entrance of the 2nd floor, her shoe tapping against the dusty rug as she waited impatiently for the east to arrive.

Theo noticed Bex glare at him for a time before she redirected her attention back to Jax. Despite all of the drama surrounding the scene, he was still able to pick up on the atmosphere between him and his ex. After all of this time, there was still awkwardness and he had to remind himself to push it all aside now. It had been so long ago - too long to still dwell on.

Theo listened as Bex relented and agreed for them all to meet at the Midtown meeting ground. He slowly nodded his head as he listened to the instructions, then turned to Godfrey to make sure he was still on board with the plan. Eli seemed willing to try his luck and join them in the handover, but he decided it wasn't his place to refuse him even if making sure the lad returned to the East would add more onto his own workload. His attention shifted to Jax as he made his comment about handcuffing him. Whilst it wasn't his initial intention to cuff the man, he couldn't help but wonder if him mentioning it was some kind of bluff to stop them from doing exactly that. "Well, far be it for me to be the one to deprive you of your odd desires..." he said and placed the handcuffs securely on Jax's wrists. "You're welcome," he remarked. Theo then turned to Godfrey, waiting for the man's lead before setting off to Midtown.

Mick took a seat to one side on Bex, absent-mindedly spinning his hunting knife on the table in front of him whilst he waited for the hippies to show up. "Who even admits to being called 'jax' anyway?" he drily asked. He then sat back in his seat and looked between Bex and the others. "I know they're from the East and all that, but I still don't trust them one bit. If they try any bullshit, do I have permission to stab one of the fuckers?" he playfully asked. "I'll leave Theo for you. I know how much you hate the guy," he remarked to Bex.

Everything seemed to have been settled on the issue, and with no bloodshed, thank the heavens. He looked over to Theo seeing that he had cuffed the man, Jax was his name right.

"For your sake I hope you do like those handcuffs cause you'll be wearin' them for a while. We can't really have you runnin' around here all on your own, safety reason for you and the rest of us I'm sure you understand." He added somewhat sympathetically. From what he's seen so far jax seems okay. Sure he's kind of sarcastic but he hasn't aimed a weapon at or threatened to maim any of them. And what kind of world do they live in where those last two options happen way more often than should be acceptable. The guy may not even be a real threat and he just ended up in a bad situation. Maybe for once it's just something simple, cut and dry down the line. Or maybe that's just wistful thinking. At the moment he has no clue what this guy's capable of or if he has something up his sleeve so he'll have to keep his guard up.

"We don't wanna be late. You heard the girl, thirty minutes. It's probably best not to anger her any further for now." Once they get to midtown they'll finally get some answers.

Nik relaxed and rested his head on Bex's shoulder. Listening to Mick's suggestions, he chuckled and spoke up. "Don't threaten them with a good time Mick" . Despite his relaxed attitude, Nik kept an eye on the Easterners. This was an unusual situation and despite their preaching peace making attitude, he knew they could be as brutal as their own side was when it came to it.

The only difference being they claimed not to be as if it were some competition to be humane and soft. Nik could remember his fathers "wisdom" growing up. Being soft was weak, cunning and strength wins the day.

Nik knew to people outside the inner circle, the apparent closeness with Bex was a sign of a relationship but the main thing was that Nik just needed someone he could hold onto when he got as Bex called in "Inside your own head". Shaking his head slightly, he seemed to be drawing himself out as they moved but he kept a hand on Bex's arm, like an anchor.

Jax was relieved when the Western leader had walked out of sight, leaving him with the more reasonable faction. He was sure that if he had been in the West's care, the treatment would have been far more extreme...he couldn't blow his cover now, not when he had just begun his mission. Once he was cuffed, Jax sat back on the ground, looking up at the Easterners as they stared back at him. Raising an eyebrow, he was amused when the co head said that he'd be wearing the cuffs for a while. If all things went according to his plan, it would only be for the next 24 hours. "Oh don't worry, I understand, protect your own...in times like these, you do what you have to." His tone was relaxed, friendly even as he sent Godfrey an easygoing smile. In all honesty, deep down, Jaxton was irritated that his brother even sent him to this pathetic place. Compared to what was on the other side, this place was just as abandoned and worn-down as the rest of the world was.

"Could one of you help me to my feet, this grass is kinda wet." He asked politely, waiting for someone to help him up. Once he was on his feet, he kicked the grass beneath him softly and stretched out his back. The East co head spoke of not wanting to be late, and Jax chuckled slightly. "Scared of that little thing? I'm sure she'll be done throwing her fit once we get there." Jax didn't fight those who stood closer to him. He could see the worry and apprehension in their features, they didn't trust him yet. Jax wondered if he was playing it too cool, if he was unbelievable at the moment...Instead of saying anything more, he walked silently with the rest towards midtown.

The worn down and abandoned skyline of the sky scrapers brought an eery feeling to the once greatly populated city. Jax let out a long whistle, looking up at the tall building that was the meeting place of both the East and the West. "We aren't going up the fucking tower are we?" He asked nervously, seriously wondering if they would have to climb flights of stairs to get to this meeting place. Luckily for him, they were only going to the 2nd floor. Still, Jax pretended to be a bit winded as they got the the 2nd floor stairwell door where the West was waiting for them on the other side.
superthumb.jpg
Bex had cooled down now as she sat at the large round table with Mick and Nik. Her eyes were still glued to the door as she awaited the arrival of the east, a small smile formed on her lips as Mick spoke about wanting permission to stab one of the hippies. "Do you even have to ask?" Bex asked teasingly but her smile faded only slightly as he said that he would leave Theo for her. To anyone on the outside, it was clear that Bex held some hatred for the man. Bexley could never decided if that's what she felt. Too prideful to feel hurt but she couldn't call how she felt towards Theo hate, it was a strong word after all. They shared something that not many could in a time like this, something that was lost to her now. Guilt was definitely something she felt once in a while. Her dreams would haunt her, telling her that what she had kept from him wasn't right.

Bexley lifted a hand to pat Nik's head softly, knowing that he was where she was at in that moment, both were stuck inside their own heads. Clearing her throat, Bex shook her head slowly, "Of course they would take their time, typical fuck-"The stairwell door opening cut her off and she clamped her mouth shut as Godfrey, Theo and Jax walked through the door. Bex stayed seated, leaning back in the dusty office chair as she gestured for the three of them to take a seat. Once they were seated, Bex nodded her head slowly and looked to Jax, who simply stared back at her with an irritatingly relaxed smile on his face. "Ask away doll, I ain't got nothin' to hide." The brunette glared daggers at Jax but proceeded to ask her first of many questions, "What is your full name?" If he was truly from the West, they would be able to find his records somewhere in the territory.

The man raised his left eyebrow before letting out a chuckle, "That's it? You dragged me up here to ask for my full name? Alright, its Jaxton Darby."

When Solomon told her he didn't need anything more and was alright, it caused Beth to observe him for a little longer and more closely. The man was clearly tired, but she supposed it came as no real surprise. Most of the people she knew were exhausted and that was a product of the world they now lived in. Still, that didn't make it healthy and it certainly didn't mean it should be ignored. "As long as you're sure, Solomon," she softly told him. "Try to get more rest, won't you?" she suggested.

Beth then felt things shift and now Solomon's attention seemed to be placed on her for a time. She diverted her eyes to the ground, hoping to avoid any confrontation or awkwardness. She looked back up with a slight sense of relief as he seemed to avoid speaking up and made his way to the door. However, the man stopped and turned back to her, with something she read as a sympathetic look within his features. He told her he knew she missed him. She could only assume he meant her brother as the few times she has spoken of her father, it had been with nothing but cold disdain for the man's terrible actions. She slowly nodded her head in agreement of Solomon's comment. She did miss her brother and she thought about Lucas quite often. Her feelings often shifted between hope that he would return and grief for the fact he was more likely dead... or worse.

A short while after Solomon had left, Beth was summoned to see the Head. She finished packing up a medical kit before heading to the penthouse where David often resided. When she was eventually allowed entry inside she approached the man. Despite her well-kept posture and confident stride, her face typically reflected her meek and introverted nature. "You wished to speak with me?" she asked.

'Son, make sure you clean the cow shed. We lost Brulee to respiratory infections a few months and we know how much cattle are these days. Also the pig sty needs a proper cleaning." Antony, his dad said over the walkie talkie. He was a very famous architect behind some of the greatest architectural wonders around the state but in his free time, he liked helping Robert in his farm. Robert on the other hand was on his tractor spraying his crops with fertilizer.

"Roger that."

"Also, " Vivienne, Robert's mom said over the same channel. "This good ain't gonna eat themselves. You can do the cleaning later in the afternoon. The cows and the pigs can wait. Your stomach won't."

"Yes Ma'am." Robert's dad said enthusiastically. Robert had only a few acres to finish so he did that first. After twenty minutes, he made his way to the house, where he was greeted by the warm smell of rice and beef stew. His favorite. He was handed a glass of cold water and he drank it vigorously. He sat down and his mom lead them in a small prayer of grace.

The sweet smell of the rice and the stew really woke all his senses to full attention. He scooped a spoonful of soup and he placed it in his mouth.

Robert opened his eyes and smacked his lips. His taste buds reminiscing on the last meat stew he last ate before all hell broke loose. He sat upright and looked around his surroundings. He was at an building downtown. The windowless panes provided a breathtaking view of the surrounding area. The torn and worn out curtains did their windy routine, fluttering up and down in unison. The old and rotten desks that provided shelter were his friends. He stood up and walked to the windows. The morning breeze hit his face with such force, it literally woke him up. No coffee required.

The view was absolutely breathtaking. I guess zombies had no use of the view. Being dead and all. The streets still had the undead but not as much as before. Manageable since they literally crawled. The buildings were all starting to rot and plants growing on the sides. But there is a particular feature he liked about the infestation. No Smog. A cloud which is a result of pollution from the urbanized areas. The more reason his family moved to the countryside. He gave the view a final view and made his way to his 'bathroom'.

His bathroom was nothing spectacular. He had a broken mirror and a small bottle of water to wash his face and armpits. Water was a luxury and wasting it on full body baths was not in his budget. He stared at the figure staring back at him. The image looked so much different. Brave, Exposed to the horrors, Still handsome, Rugged. He brushed his hand over his small beard. 'I need to trim again.' He made a small mental note as he splashed water on his face. He quickly wiped his armpits and wore the same rugged old clothes. A black torn t-shirt paired with a pair of faded blue jeans and a pair of old sneakers. His other clothes were torn to shreds to provide tinder for his flames. He stared once again at his reflection. smiled and headed to his bed.

He opened his bag and retrieved a can of beans. He had 4 left. 4 more days till he starves. He opened it, did a smell test and dug in. The cold taste of canned bean with no warm accompaniment at all was all too bland. If only he had a warm serving of rice. After scooping up the lat bean, he stood up, stretched and looked at the room one last time. "It was good being here. Thank you for the view and the comfort. Till we meet again." He opened the door and walked into the unknown.

"You said you're from time square right? What are you doin' here in this area?" Godfrey inquired motioning around with his hand to the territory they're currently in before crossing his arms.
This guy's kind of mouthy. And the situation he's in the last thing he should be doing is getting smart with a group of strangers who, from what he's seen, don't much care for his well being. He's too relaxed for Godfrey's liking and it's a little off putting.

He looked around quickly at everyone else wondering how they were feeling. Maybe they were just as confused by Jax's attitude toawards all of this.
He looks back to the man in question. God, he just hopes that Jax'll answer their questions straight forward and they won't leave here with more questions about him than answers.

Jax turned his attention to Godfrey with a raised brow. "Yea, time square is my home." He murmured softly, his eyes looking out towards the window, looking out to the deteriorating world outside. This was what Jax had been preparing for, what his brother had drilled into his head over and over again. "My family and I were never really officially apart of the little group that this one," He nodded his head towards Bex, "was in charge of." His eyes stared at the western leader for a long moment before turning his attention back to Godfrey, "We stayed out of Saloon's way with a bunch of others who didn't want to join the faction, deciding freedom was better than conforming to the rules of some random stranger who thought that they were in charge..." There was obvious resentment towards the idea of factions, yet it was all an act and Jaxton was playing it very very well.

In fact, what these simpletons didn't know was there was a whole other faction on the other side of the wall, far to the North, hiding in the ice and snow. This faction was far more superior to what these people had going on here, developing a whole new way of life. A small smirk formed on Jax's lips as he thought about his true home. "For years, my family and I were able to survive without the others, keeping to ourselves, taking for ourselves...until..." The man's hand curled on his thigh slowly, pinching his thigh between his thumb and index finger, his eyes began to water. "The walkers had gathered in numbers somehow...we foolishly were above land, they found their way in and overpowered us. I was able to get away without so much as a bite on me...I wish I could say the same for my mother, father and little sister."

He shook his shoulders and shook his head as he let his head hang down, "I had to end them before traveling as far as I could...I hadn't realized I stumbled into the Eastern territory until it was too late."

Mick's patience was starting to wear thin as they waited for the hippies to bring Jax to the meeting. He was suspecting the East had no intention of attending or, more likely, that Jax had managed to give the idiots the slip. As it turned out, he was wrong on both counts and soon enough, Godfrey, Theo and Jax entered the meeting room. He looked the three men over before sitting back to listen on as the questioning began. The way the stranger addressed them, so calmly, was started to grate on Mick but he still managed to remain patient and silent. After giving his full name, Jax then answered the question about where he was from.

The man went on to talk of how he and his family had kept to themselves, surviving for years. When Jax mentioned had they'd become overrun by walkers, Theo lowered his head for a moment, the story feeling all too familiar. Theo had been 15 when his father was bitten by a walker and he'd had to kill the man out of mercy. He understood how difficult that would have been for Jax and that even time wouldn't be able to heal such memories. "I'm sorry you had to go through that. I... I experienced similar and had to finish my old man before he could turn," he admitted. Whilst he didn't carry the guilt for ending his father, he often blamed himself when wondering if he could have done more to stop the man from being corned by the walkers in the first place.

Mick kept a straight face throughout it all, only changing his expression to roll his eyes at Theo's words, figuring it was typical of the guy to be sucked in by a sob story. "Alright, Jax..." he began, sitting forward. "Now you've stumbled here, what are your next plans? You said your family hadn't wanted to be apart of this group, but what do you intend on doing now? More stumbling along to see where your feet take you next?" he remarked.

Godfrey could see where he was coming from with the whole fraction thing but at the same time fractions seemed like the safest idea to him. Travelling in packs is the best idea in a world like this where just walking out of your house could be the worst decision you could make.

Hearing Jax and Theo share his own experience made Godfrey think of his own and really reflect for a moment. Jax may have gotten on all of their nerves since they met him but everyone here had to be able to at least empathize with him right? All of them probably having experienced the loss of their loved ones in some way and ending up where they are now; whether it was directly by the hands of those monsters or a byproduct of their existence.
There was nothing wrong with being able to feel for someone else as long as you were still able to keep your wits about you. A lesson that Godfrey found particularly important in this new life.

Mick's words pulled him back into the moment and the current problem on their hands. Godfrey found himself, once again, staring down the man.

Nik looked thoroughly bored as the new comer was questioned. He looked around at the other people who were chosen to be here. Bex looked like she wanted to kill him then and there. The funny thing was that a couple of the eastern guys had the same look. The guys was a pain in the ass but they needed to find out how he lived this long and where he had comes from.

Hearing the sob story, Nik remained un-moved. Things had gone to hell and every single person in the room had done what they needed to in order to survive. Speaking up he chimed in.
"you and your family wanted to avoid us? Im offended. And for all the trouble of avoiding us well look how that ended up"
He watches you looked plain bored at the story.

When Elizabeth was finally shown into David's receiving room, which was also his kitchen, she saw the patriarch seated across from Solomon, who had apparently beaten her by a few minutes to the penthouse and was standing on the opposite side of the table to his father. They had apparently been in some form of tense discussion or argumentation before she had arrived, as they were looking at each other with a kind of hostile disposition. When she entered, David looked to her as if he was surprised to see her. Solomon, completely unaware of such a meeting, looked over to her wincing as if to say, "Sorry you got dragged up here."

"Ah, Miss Jefferson," David began, standing, "I was expecting Doctor Clark." The older man walked from out behind the table so he was standing in front of both of them. He had in his hand a book with a worn cover: "Plants and their Medicinal Uses" or somesuch volume. "No matter, you know your way around medicines, right?"

Eli had listened to Jax's whole story with a bit of confusion mixed with skepticism. He had no idea that people actually lived in Time Square, given that he wasn't a scout and wasn't privy to much of any information about the outside world. The story seemed a bit odd to him, but Jax seemed more or less trustworthy to him so he was prepared to believe him. He listened to his leader alongside the others from the west bantering back and forth about the situation and what to do with Jax.

Jax had finished his story, hoping for the best as he looked around the room, unafraid to meet the eyes of every single person around him. Luckily for him, one man from the east, Theo, had a similar history. Jax’s brows furrowed together lightly as he nodded his head once, ”Thank you. I’m so sorry for your loss.” He returned the apology before his attention was turned to Mick, who asked him what his plans were now that he was here. Jax shrugged his shoulder nonchalantly and offered a small thin smile as he tilted his head, ”That’s exactly what I plan on doing actually. As friendly as I am, I tend to do better on my own.”

His head snapped to look at Nik who looked down right bored at the story that Jaxton had so carefully thought of. The man couldn’t help but think that Nik was going to be more of a problem than his leader, Bexley. ”Yea well, just how the cookie crumbles I guess.”
superthumb.jpg
All the while Bexley was standing silently, a little too quiet as she watched Jax carefully. With the story he told, on top of Theo reminding her of his sad past, she was perplexed. Running a hand through her hair, Bexley looked to Godfrey, who had also gone silent. After another long moment of silence, Bexley slammed her hands down against the table before turning around and crossing her arms, clearly frustrated on what to do next.

”I hate to break it to you, pal,” She started as she finally turned her self around to face the group of men. ”But you aren’t going to be wandering on your own anymore.” Jax faked a look of anger as he shook his head. ”Well I hate to break it back to you, pal but this is a free country. I can go when I want.” This earned a low and short laugh from Bexley. ”Why would you want to go back out there? After what those things did to your family? Why would you want to risk it when you could have everything you want in the factions.” Bex was quick to try and work a different angle. As much as the man annoyed the shit out of her, she wanted to try and keep him as close as possible. She didn’t trust him one bit and the story he gave was one that was giving her all kinds of mixed signals. ”We could provide that for you in the West…” She didn’t care if the East protested, she would find a way to get Jax on to her side to keep a close eye on him.

Jaxton’s smirk was cocky as lazily looked up to the Western leader, ”Well as appealing as that sounds little darlin’ , I’m sure your counterparts could offer something more. I’ve seen the way you operate.” Jax looked to the East and raised an eyebrow, wondering if they would really offer more for him to return with them. They were eating out of the palm of his hand…

Mick glanced to Nik as the man spoke up, remarking that he was offended that Jax had wanted to avoid the group in the West. He couldn't help but smirk at the bored expression his friend was displaying to the sob story. Jax then looked back to him to answer his question. "Well, I'm still deciding if you stumbling into us lot would be considered doing well on your own, at all." Mick's attention was soon drawn to Bexley as she slammed her hands on the table and told Jax he wasn't going anywhere on his own. "You heard the lady," Mick said, arrogantly holding his hands out as if to imply there was no further argument needed. At mention of them being in a free country, Mick scoffed, believing things had changed long ago on that front. Now it was all about survival and certain areas weren't just open for all to wander into. Jax was a trespasser and needed to be dealt with, especially as he didn't trust the guy one bit.

Theo shook his head as the exchange went on, finally looking directly to Bexley as she said the West could provide for Jax. He heard the man's remark about wanting to see what the East could offer, but ignored it for the moment. "Why is it so important for you to keep him in the West, Bex? Don't forget, Jaxton was found on the East side of the border, so really it's up to the East what happens to him." He pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to keep his words civil and neutral, but being in the woman's presence for this amount of time was taking its toll. They'd once had something good and he'd truly believed in their relationship. He'd loved her but she didn't trust him when it truly mattered. "You can't control everything, Bex. Isn't the world we live in bad enough without being unable to give people a chance. Isn't there room for being at least a little open-minded? Not everyone wants to betray you..."

Robert walked to what it feels like ages. The sun wasn't his friend either and he was sure he saw the same building twice in a row. He was walking in a damn infinity circle. Well it was his first time going to the city after years of hiatus in the country side and things weren't in his favor. Well at least there were a little concentration of the undead at 103rd so he avoided the entire street entirely. He walked to a small cafe which was obviously abandoned and found a small guide book. At least he had a book to keep him company when he will stop and rest somewhere.

After flipping the map a couple of times to get his bearing, he decided on a point. There is a museum right on W 77th street or something and that was his destination. A large structure is sure to have a large congregation of people, or the undead, or a cult. He had no idea which was better than the other. The people could be hostile, the undead are well undead and most likely very hungry or the cult could sacrifice his heart and chant, " Hail Sithis." Neither of those options were favorable to him.

After standing in the street looking like a fool, he headed towards the museum, hoping for the best. Hope was the only thing left in this god forsaken world. The walk to the museum was uneventful. Well for the most part at least. He found an undead crawling on the hot pavement. Filled with sympathy for some reason, he shanked the poor beast on the head and continued his journey. He did stop at a cafe to get a few minutes rest wondering where the waitresses were. After a couple of hours, he managed to see the museum from a distance.

He stopped. He looked around. He had a bone chilling feeling he was being watched.

Quiet footsteps were the only warning of an approach to the room in which the questioning was occuring. Matt was no fool, if he showed up with no warning he'd get shot. But rushing in like a drunken bull would only cause tensions. So he made sure to step lightly, but audibly. To give the collection a fair warning as he slowly approached the doorway. He wasn't an intimidating man by far. He was a bit taller than the average height, but not with enough bulk to completely tower over anyone. Coming to a stop, he donned one of his many masks before reaching a hand to tap on the frame in a slow manner.

With three short taps, he slowly entered the room, cold expression melting a tad as he took a quick count of the Westerner's present, scanning them for any injuries. When he was satisfied he turned back to the other side in the room, not daring to enter yet. He knew that if he moved too fast he'd end up with a bullet in his forehead faster than he could pray to God for a merciful death. So he quietly cleared his throat in a manner to announce his presence, gaze looking over the situation carefully as he spoke.

"Bex did you forget my invitation again?"

His hands remained pocketed as he seemingly slouched, looking towards his leader with a raised eyebrow and a teasing smirk tugging at his lips. Maybe no one else found him funny, but damn if he couldn't have a bit of his own fun now and then. Especially when he basically just chased her to Midtown.

Bexley's head snapped to look at Theodore as he spoke to her directly now. Her jaw ticked angrily as she eyed him up and down, wondering what the hell his deal was now. He so annoyingly pointed out that Jason had been on the East side when found, but to her that meant nothing. She opened her mouth to speak when she saw him pinch the bridge of his nose, something inside of her snapped and she couldn't find the voice to tell him off. Instead she stared openly at him with wide eyes, taking in his clear irritation with her. It was a reminder of how difficult she was to him now and it was something she didn't like to be reminded of often. Through the hurt came more anger towards him, reminding herself that he had done this to himself.

His words hurt her more than he would know and she angrily shook his head at him, "You think that I want control over everything? I only want it because people can't be trusted...Regardless of if they are trying to betray me or not. Even the people who you hold close can turn their backs on you in a second." Her words were thick and clearly pointed at him. A throat cleared to her left and Jaxton looked between the two people with a smirk on his face, "This isn't marriage counseling you know...there is a serious matter we are all dealing with here."

Before Bex could turn to snap at the man, another familiar voice sounded off from behind her. Turning her head, she saw Matt looking as casual as ever with his hands in his pockets and a smirk on his face. Rolling her eyes, Bex turned her head back to everyone else before speaking to Matt. "This isn't a party. I was taking care of some business that was unexpectedly sprung upon me but I fear that I am not going to get my way.." Bexley's eyes were on Theo for a long while before she turned her head away to look at Mitch. "We are going to give them Jax." She stated, probably shocking everyone in the room. "However we are more than welcome to continue to question the man as we please. Are we clear?" Her eyes looked to Godfrey hoping the man would agree to her terms. Jax felt like he was getting off easy and he sat back a little more relaxed in his chair which didn't go unnoticed by the Western leader.

"Don't think you are off the hook so easily, Jax. This is an open investigation until we can confirm you are truly clean." Standing up slowly from her seat, Bexley crossed her arms. "It would be in your best interest to quarantine him until he has seen one of your medical staff." The woman suggested, eyeballing Jax. Turning to Matt, Bex nodded her head. "We have a visitor who will be going to stay with the East, any suspicious activity of any kind will be reported to me and there will be extra support on the borders, can you arrange that?"

To say tensions were extra high would be the understatement of the century. On one hand, you had an ex-couple who were at each other's throat. Though, if you were to ask Jay what she thought their true issue was she would give you two answers. Her professional opinion would have to deal with the fact that they had A LOT of unresolved relationship issues. The other being a non-professional, such as saying they just had a ton of sexual tension and needed to bang. Jay thought about saying this aloud but knew this wasn't the time nor the place. Therefore, she kept it in her head as a joke for a later time to maybe tell Mick; he'd appreciate it, she thought.

She was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard Bex's voice grow louder and even more irate with Theo. Mental note, decompress Bexley before she kills all of us. She thought to herself. Just as she was about to speak, she heard Jax make a comment, to which she snickered and quickly apologized for. "Sorry...," she said with a slight smile before looking at him, "I was thinking the same thing but was going to wait." She whispered to him. The small smile that was on her face quickly disappeared when Bex had finally made her decision. There were some gasps here and there, a few shocked faces but Jay just watched on. In her honest opinion, there were times where she never got the whole West and East side thing so her level of caring was very low. The only time she would truly spend her time invested in it is if any of her Western counterparts were involved and then there was going to be an issue. However, Jay was very curious about what made Bex decide to give him over to them. "Well then, boss lady has spoken, si? Pick your jaws up off the floor, let's go."

Matt listened as she spoke, straightening up a bit as he took note of her orders, nodding. With Bexley's orders acknowledged nonverbally, he let his eyes turn onto Jax as the amusement turned to cold indifference. Her decision wasn't one he was revealing any reaction to. She'd spoken, that was the end of it. Afterwards, he let his eyes roam over the man in question, noting not only any weapons or signs he'd be trouble, but also allowing himself to take in his appearance. Rugged as many of them were, but not in an unkempt or horribly disgusting kind of way. He was....well-as much as Matt would vehemently deny-attractive. And that thought alone left the tips of his ears heating up. God if Bex didn't kill him he'd need to look more into this guy. For...research. Just to make sure he wasn't dangerous or anything. Tearing his glance away, he busied himself by adjusting his glasses back onto a firmer position atop his nose. Hopefully Bex didn't notice. She'd chew up and spit him out with a large chunk of teasing slid in to make him squirm.

Moving his hand back to his pocket he began thinking about how to go about with her request. He could allocate some of their scouts to occasionally check along the borders, as well as reorganizing a few of the schedules of those on border duty. He'd need to tell them to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity, especially to let him know if they spotted the cute-erm, the person of interest, Jax. God he couldn't even think straight. Then again, when can he do anything straight at all.

Still, it'd be a bit of hassle to get everything in place, especially seeing as he'd already spoke with the border watchers and scouts about their planned routes and scheduled timeframes for the upcoming week. He had to stifle a sigh as he thought of how that conversation would go. Tiring was the first word to come to mind, as many would have already made plans based around this.

Distantly listening to the reactions of his fellow westerners, he turned and began walking out. It'd be best to catch the scouts on the way back from their most recent trek and explain then, rather than face two headaches at once.

They sure weren't walking away from this empty handed. They got enough information out of Jax for now. And having him on their side means they can ask him some more questions if they arise, and they will, without having to jump through hoops to talk with him. He had also gotten somewhat of an insight on Bexley as well. As cold as she is there's certainly a reason behind it that he doesn't know the full story to but if anyone here knows it's Theodore. He glances quickly from Bexley to Theodore. From that conversation just now alone that doesn't seem like something he wants to touch at the moment.

At hearing that they would be getting Jax and the West would get to question him Godfrey nodded "That sounds fair to me." He turned to Jax "Looks like you're comin' with us. We'll get you all set up in a room over on our side of things. You'll love it, It's just like the ritz only more dilapitaded." He walked closer to Jax "we're gonna leave those cuffs on you a little longer." He nods down to Jax's hands "Just until we get you to medical and have you checked over. Again our safety your safety same old jazz I'm sure you get it by now." He sighs, exhausted. "Now off we get unless you wanna stay here all day." He glances around the room before his gaze settles back on Jax.

Bex felt defeated as the meeting came to a close. Her eyes stared daggers at the man in questioning before her attention turned back to look at Matt, wondering if he had gotten the message on what she wanted from him, not hearing a verbal answer from him. When she saw him staring down Jax, she found that satisfying enough as an answer and nodded her head a few times before turning her attention back to the others from the East side.

Over hearing the words from Godfrey, Bexley scoffed in disgust at the pampering Jaxton was already getting. The Western leader was regretting her decision. She was silent about her reasoning as to why she let him go, but truth be told, she didn’t have a clue. Something about the whole situation didn’t make sense to her. Her instincts were screaming out to her and they pointed in the direction of letting Jax head to the East. Whether those instincts were right or wrong, she might never know…

”Alright…” Bexley breathed out slowly. Running a hand through her curls, her eyes looked to Theo. This was the first time she had seen him in a while and she didn’t know when she would see him again. Despite what he said to her, she couldn’t take his eyes off of him. She backed away from the dusty table slowly, her eyes never leaving his as she made her way towards the exit. Only when she reached the doors did she turn around, breaking the eye contact.

The journey home had been a little longer than expected for Bexley, who decided to go off the grid for a while. Turning off her walkie, she went on a small supply run. By the time she returned it was much later than she had thought. The sun was high in the sky, the pollution turning the blazing ball of fire a deep red.

The brunette stepped back into Saloon territory and reached for her walkie, moving to turn it back on, listening to see if anyone was chewing her out yet. Most of the territory lived underneath the ground and only a few things stood above it like the shooting range and the bar, which was still standing after years of renovation.

Bex made her way towards the bar, wanting to escape her troubles some more before heading out on patrol for the afternoon. Once inside, she got behind it. Searching for a particular bottle of bourbon.

Jax snickered with the woman as she said that she was thinking the same thing. Most of these people were different from their hard ass leader. Jaxton couldn’t help but think about how easy this was all going to be for him. They were eating out of the palm of his hand and all he had to do was sit back and watch as they destroyed themselves. He already pin pointed the weaknesses within the two groups, where things would start to crumble without it looking like any fault of his own. He had been stuck in his thoughts for a long while, simply staring away from the group. He wouldn’t have noticed the man who had walked in if it weren’t for the stare he felt, turning in his direction Jax wasn’t afraid to raise his eyebrow at him in questioning, wondering what the hell he was looking at.

He wondered if anyone else had notice the way the man was looking at him and before he could turn to find out, the meeting had ended with the final words from almost everyone in the room, including the leaders of both factions. The proposal from the West side didn’t leave him out of trouble yet and he would have to deal with the questions when they came to him, but for now, he felt like he had gotten the better end of the deal. Jax was relieved that he would have a room over on the eastern side, he was sure if his fate had been different, he would have been in some sort of cell on the western side. He frowned about having to keep the cuffs on, they were uncomfortable and he missed the use of his hands.

He understood however, or he at least tried to. Safety first for these people, he smirked at that thought. It was why they would never last, it wasn’t good to never take risks… Standing up slowly, Jax shook his head at the thought of staying in this location all day. It was creepy and abandoned. With that, the room dispersed and people headed back their own way, Jax was stuck in the middle of people just for safety reasons as they watched over him. He was interested in seeing the East side for himself, ready to get to work at what he set out to do: get information and formulate a plan for their downfall…

He was right to assume it'd be a headache dealing with both groups at once. But he was wishing he had, because dealing with each separately had only compounded into an exhausted migraine as he was forced to repeat things. After this, he'd had to remake the schedules in his notebook, then double check that the others were aware of the orders. This altogether was draining, leaving him going back and forth between the groups in order to garner affirmation that they understood, as well as repeating the constant answers to the repetitive questioning. Not to mention others had overheard and began badgering him with worries and concerns over the schedule change. He may have been a co-leader, but sometimes he wished he had Bex's notoriety for being intimidating. They wouldn't have griped and whined as much to her, she was pretty scary if anyone managed to irritate her. By the time he'd finished it was much later in the day, and he'd no idea where Bexley even was. This was normally not an issue, but she had wanted him to make arrangements, and he'd need to tell her they were done before she went on patrol later. Thankfully, in his attempts to find a bit of peace by the bar, he also found their leader digging around for something. Most likely booze.

"So this is where you went. Gotta say, finding you was a massive pain. Not as much as dealing with idiots over arrangements mind you, but still a pain."

He leaned against the bar counter tiredly, watching her as she quested for what was undoubtedly some sort of liquor stashed away. Even in his fatigued mind he knew that her drinking when there was more work to be done could likely just mean he'd be saddled with what she couldn't or didn't want to handle in a drunken state. That thought alone made him wish he'd gotten here first to claim whatever she was bound to spirit away.

Bexley hadn’t notice that anyone was with her in the bar, so when Matt’s voice rang out, she jumped nearly bumping her head against the counter above her. ”Jesus! Don’t do that Matt!” The brunette found the bottle she had been searching for before setting it down on the wooden counter. Standing up straight then, she saw Matt eyeing her and she eyed him back. ”Thanks for getting the arrangements done.” She murmured tiredly before opening the bottle of bourbon and taking a long sip from the bottle. The liquid burned as it went down, warming her chest and belly. Removing the bottle from her lips, the woman then offered Matt the bottle before looking towards the entrance of the bar.

”Sorry I went MIA for a bit, decided to cool off before I went off on someone. Trying it out for a while to see how it works out. Seems to work for the people around me, bet y’all don’t like getting chewed out…” Bex let out a laugh while shaking her head. In all honesty, she went MIA so she had time to think about Atticus, seeing Theo today only brought back painful memories of her beloved son. If the man only knew as to why she was so…moody. The blame she placed on herself every single day.

Sucking in a deep breath through her nose, the brunette reached for the bottle again, feeling as though she really needed it in that moment. She needed to drown out the pain, at least until she was ready to face it head on. ”I don’t trust that Jax character and I don’t trust the East…they wanted to take the newcomer and for what? To pamper him? welcome him in with open arms? Pfft. Hippies.”

He accepted the bottle without a word, taking a long drink. He savored the burn of the liquid as it settled in his stomach. He dully noted he probably should eat something soon, as he'd forgotten to eat lunch while doing the arrangements. But not at the moment. He lacked the motivation to move from his spot as he took a seat on one of the stools. Seeing her reaching for the bottle once more, he reluctantly handed it back. As her words mentioned the man from earlier, he quickly turned his eyes away, hoping she didn't notice him fidget slightly. He'd been pretty attractive....at least to Matt. Though he doubted saying such things aloud would get him much more than a boot to the head for his troubles.

"Mm. Jax. Weird name. Then again, so's Bexley."

Okay maybe not eating anything for lunch and breakfast aside from some bread had been....unwise? As his mouth was already deeming it a great time to land him on the wrong side of the West's most intimidating woman. No wonder it was called liquid courage.
