David walked to the HQ building with a man held at gunpoint (npc for this scenario only) and another of his employees (ditto).

Being the foods administrator, he was having a great time at the militia's kitchen. The numbers were adding up, everything seemed in order and he could sleep well tonight. But then some monkey wrench had to be thrown in. One of his supervisors approached him. One of the new cooks was caught stealing a large amount of raw food and since law was made by the presiding leader, he personally escorted him to HQ for judgement.

What David couldn't believe was that one man would sacrifice the bellies of another family to feed his. He'd like to shoot him on the spot because in tough times like this, an act like that could threaten the lives of a household.

He arrived at HQ and asked the guards for entry, explaining the situation. He hoped the leaders would see him. Rose and Jade were their names? They seemed like fair leaders, ensuring the safety and - as much was possible in these circumstances - their comfort.

Mick stopped walking as Teddy responded to him. He remained silent for a moment, confirming to himself that there was nobody - or nothing - around. He then responded to his friend in a low voice. "Nice to hear from you... I'll drop back until you catch up, Teddy. Every day you remain on the good side of the wall is a Godsend," he sarcastically remarked.

Mick remained vigilant, with is rifle still firmly in his grip and ready to fire at any given moment. Hopefully this was just a false alarm and Andy was having some sort of technical issue with his radio. The last thing he wanted was more trouble and more damn group meetings. More than anything, he wanted Rosemary to be able to relax following the recent issues caused by the West's wonderful leader.

The next sound Mick heard was that of Teddy approaching. He trained his gun on the distant figure before it became clear it was his friend, so he relaxed his shoulders and lowered the rifle. "Nice of you to join me, darling," he remarked. He then returned to the situation at hand and changed his tone to a more serious one. "I haven't heard from Andy as yet and it's been quiet along the path I've covered. Shall we continue?" he asked, motioning in the direction he expected to find their missing scout.

Bexley let out a sigh of relieve when Lee finally answered her. His behavior had worried her a bit, not knowing him for very long, she couldn't really get a good read on the man, but he seemed much more talkative than this before on the North side before he revealed a secret that should have stayed on that side of the wall. Nodding her head as he spoke about the record having a story about ti and that it was for a different time, she poured him a second glass before sliding it his way. She picked up her own and downed it in one gulp, the warmth of it calming her nerves slightly.Pouring a new glass for herself, her eyes glued to the Northerner as he began to speak the words that couldn't be taken back once spoken. Her head nodded as she set the bottle down and agreed to what was to become of Lee after he told her these things, she would protect him under the South, just like she had stated back at the meeting.

He paused briefly and she took the opportunity to bring the glass of whiskey to her lips but as her son's named slip from the Northerners lips and she paused the glass from reaching her. Her eyes widened as she listened to him, unable to move in order to process the information that he was giving her. The story of what happened to her father and son was finally being revealed but two things became clear to her in those moments: First, he had confirmed to her that her father had indeed died. Second, this confirmation was more devastating than being left to wonder. She was left with no time to grief as Lee went on to explain further that Rhett, the Great Wolf of the North, had adopted her son much like Kyle had done. A few things crossed her mind that she could actually identify, she was feeling hopeful now, her son was alive and well but this was now a dream being smothered as Lee revealed that Atticus loved the man.

Bexley's glass slipped from her fingers and she couldn't react in time, it fell to the wood floor at her feet with a loud shatter, whiskey and glass making a mess on the floor. Lee had been honest with her, figuring out that she had been his mother. Her eyes squinted slightly at him trying to shake the initial shock from her face, but failing to do so. "H-how did you know he was my son?" Was all she could ask, though, she felt if his answer would shatter her even more. There was really no other way of knowing that Atticus came from her than comparing their looks. Her eyes widened slightly as she then remembered who had been with her. Teddy But how did Rhett not notice? If Atticus was his adopted son. Her thoughts went back to the man she thought she could leave behind for good in the East...now her son...their son was alive and she couldn't not tell him now...not after knowing he was alive as well. For years she convinced herself without little guilt that Theodore Ashworth was more than just a ghost of her past, but a ghost in reality, perishing with the hardships of a post apocalyptic world. Now her guilt was beginning to eat her alive all at once. She felt like she couldn't breathe as hot tears stung her eyes. "Fuck." She blew out a breath before turning away from Lee, not allowing herself to cry in front of anyone. She sucked in a few breaths to calm herself, her mind was running everywhere and she needed to focus back in. She needed her son back. Turning to Lee, she already knew how difficult it would be to simply waltz in there and get her son back. Lee knew Rhett well. "What are my chances of getting my boy back?"

Lee sat silent, leaving Bexley to soak in the life-shattering information he had just said... Taking a sip of his whiskey, truely feeling bad for his new Southern friend, he set his glass down gently. But just as she looked to say something, her glass slipped, both trying to reach for it before the contents spilt along with shards of glass. Quickly reaching over the bar, snatching a towel he had spotted earlier, he quickly bent down to clean the mess.

Rising to a much more shaken Bexley, he sighed. “Ye’ eyes. Eyes can tell ye’ a lot about a person Bexley... Also, he’s the spitting image of ye’ and Teddy. You’d be proud...” Seeing his words weren’t helping her much, he frowned as she turned away from him. Placing a hand on her shoulder, he stood from his chair, and wrapped her in his arms. When his mother hugged him he had always felt better, and Bexley needed a hug...

Lee let her go after a minute or so of her crying, gently patting her shoulders as he returned to his seat. “Depends. Rhett most likely knows i’m afraid, he’s the smartest and most dangerous man i’ve ever met. They call him the Northern Wolf for a reason... But, I know Khal like the back of my hand, and Atticus trusts me. Our only problem is that i’m a branded traitor now...” Biting his lip, he continued. “Violette might help... She’s loyal to Rhett, but there’s been a few things we haven’t discussed yet...”

Bexley hadn't expected the man before her to show any compassion on her situation, most didn't...though most didn't know about the son she had. The West knew of Atticus and had mourned the child's disappearance just as much as they did their former leaders. Bexley couldn't help the tears that fell from her eyes now as Lee unexpectedly hugged her, her usual unaffectionate self at first wanting to push him away. But it had been a while since anyone hugged her besides Kyle, the first time someone had comforted her about this tragedy in her life since it happened. Bexley was appreciative of this man and everything he was doing for her and continued to do.

Her mind took in Lee's previous words, on how he could tell that Atticus belonged to the strange Southerners, he looked just like his parents. Bexley was already immensely proud of her boy and she hadn't even seen him. Her crying grew harsher as she thought about how much she had missed of his life, how much Teddy missed of his son's life. Guilt was weighing so heavily down on her that it hurt to breathe. Her father was gone now, and she would need to give him the proper burial ceremony she had been holding out on in hopes of finding him alive.

As Lee pulled away, he answered the question she had asked regarding her chances of getting Atticus back. It was not as comforting as the hug had been. Bexley knew she had a reason to be cautious of the Northern leader, Lee confirming he was a dangerous man. Lee was now a traitor to his people to the place he called home...and for what? Why had he done this? The question was bubbling on her lips but she bit it back as she nodded along, Lee explaining that Violette might be able to help and that she was loyal to Rhett. Bexley sucked in another deep breath, taking in all the information as she moved to grab another glass before going to sit in a chair now as well, next to Lee. Bexley felt awful that Lee had to make such a terribly big decision of right and wrong, he had done the right thing by telling her and now he was losing a home because of it. "You are more than welcome to find a new home with us here in the West..thought I can't guarantee the snow..." Her voice was rough as she wiped under her eyes. "This Rhett...you said Vi is loyal to him...but you are not? Why is that? Why did you tell me this if you knew you would be a traitor?" Bexley was trying to get an understanding of this man. Bexley wouldn't admit it, but she liked him well enough and could see him being a good friend.

Lee sighed, chuckling lightly at Bexley’s comment on the snow. He was a snow bunny, and always would be, Hell he lived in it on days end as a scout. But that life was over... No more lone nights humming a tune to keep you sane. No more watching The Pit with blind eyes. No more babysitting. No more Khal...

Snapping from thought, he took a sip of his whiskey as he locked eyes with Bexley, curiosity now rimming her glassy eyes. “I firmly believe that telling the truth and making someone cry is better than telling a lie and making someone smile... Because ye’ right, I could’ve kept quiet, stayed here for my allotted time, and climbed back over the wall. I could’ve been with the woman I love, and back home buried in the snow with my rifle. But, knowing that I lied and didn’t tell ye’ something you needed to know, would’ve killed me.” Maybe it was his morals showing, but he never liked liars. Khal was lead by the best one alive.

Now that i’ve looked at Khal with different eyes, I can see the horrid flaws that society has... As much as I was loyal to Rhett and called him a friend, his web of lies built him that empire. I’ve never wanted a empire. At the end of the day I just wanna get the girl, and settle down. No more bullshit... But know this Bexley Withers, that boy of yours is confused. He’s a curious lad, he’ll wish to meet you I know it. Might not run away with you though, he loves his adopted father to much... But that is the only truth I know of Rhett Otto. His love for your boy is real, and if it helps ease your mind at all, he would never allow anything happen to him.”

Lee's words gave Bexley a newfound respect for him as he explained his reasoning for telling her all of this. He knew fully well that he could have not said anything, he made it clear for why he made his choice. Pouring herself another glass of whiskey, she offered to top off Lee waiting for a nod before doing so and setting the bottle down. It felt good to drink at the moment, the whiskey warming her and numbing a few of her emotions. She was sure if alcohol weren't involved in this conversation she would have been a blubbering mess. Grabbing her own glass and taking a sip, she leaned forwards and rested her elbows on the table as he explained the kind of man Rhett was, and the connection her son had with him.

Bexley's eyes shown bright at the thought of her son wanting to meet her willingly, but her hope of bringing him home was quickly squashed with the guilty thoughts of taking him away from the only parent he had...or he thought he had anyway. She felt a burning deep inside of her, jealousy. Rhett had been able to raise her son, watch him grow and from what Lee was saying...probably filling his head with all sorts of lies. Bexley was stuck in her thoughts in that moment, unsure of what her next course of action should be. "What do you think I should do Lee?" She asked quietly, her eyes moving to look his way once more. "I mean...if what you are saying about him and my son is true...this "peace treaty" type bullshit will never hold up." No doubt the Peace Beast of the East would have something to say about that, but Bexley would be sure to explain that she will not be giving up. " We can't form an alliance with the North if he refuses to give me my son back..." Bexley then thought of something. "What if he doesn't want to come back with me? I can't force him to leave when I lost him in the first place."

Her eyes looked down for a moment, her anxieties of being rejected by her own son now becoming very real. She had always wondered if she found him, what he would think. Rejection was something that Bexley felt she wouldn't be able to survive.

Lee gave Bexley a slight nod, grateful for her to top off the glass. Hell the two were having quite a night, it didn’t hurt to numb it a bit. The whiskey warmed his innards, reminding him of the comfort a whiskey bottle brought him when on long excursions in the barren wasteland of snow.

But when asked about his opinion, his eyes widened slightly. He had never advised Rhett, that was Violette’s job. Usually he stayed quiet, masking his intelligence with his accent. Taking a sip of whiskey, he downed it then spoke. “Rhett knew from the beginning he’d never strike a alliance with ye’ folk. Even if he did, he would play the weaker leader, and most likely take over by force. But now that you’re on the same playing field, he still has many hidden weapons, like the Doctor...” Thinking of his next words carefully, he sighed. “If ye’ could organize a meeting with Teddy and Violette... You need to tell him that he’s the father. It won’t do any good not letting him know, plus you’ll only ruin your relationship more by holding it any longer. And i’ll talk with Violette, she won’t be happy with me, but she won’t abandon me here. She’ll try to strike peace, because the North’s army would make a easy picking from ye’ folk...”

Satisfied with his advice, her next question was much harder to answer. He had never been a parent, and his parents died when he was young... “I’ll be honest with ye’. He probably won’t. He’s a stubborn boy, and has a few buried issues about his parent situation. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t be there for him. Whether he likes it or not.”

Bexley could see the surprise in his eyes, and listened as he gave his advice. Rhett never wanting an alliance in the first place seemed almost unbelievable to what she had seen in Khal, the man had been preaching about peace almost as much as Rosemary did. Perhaps the little petite Peace Beast would be replaced with one who would only be wearing Peace as a cloak to shield the evil underneath. Rosemary was definitely the weakest of the two of them and could be taken advantage of rather easily. The mention of the Doctor sent a shiver down her spine, the man having put a bad taste in her mouth from the get go. As he paused for a brief moment, Bexley couldn't help but realize the mistake Rhett had made, a small smile formed on her lips for a moment as she thought about his weapons. Bexley had two of his most useful ones here...one in her territory, the other in Rosemary's.

Her small smile vanished as Lee talked about tell Teddy. Her heart raced just thinking about seeing that man again, especially with having to tell them about the son they had. She couldn't even figure out how that would go. Oh hey, just wanted to say hi. Well hi...ooo and one more thing, we have a son who I thought was dead after I lost him and my father but it turns out he's actually being raised by that guy you thought was nice enough. Turns out, he's a liar and dangerous. BYE. Bexley wanted to cry again, her heart breaking as she realized just how hard this was going to be to tell him. Lee seemed to be in the same boat...or perhaps it would be the dog house. She couldn't help but notice the way he said it wouldn't help the relationship any more. Did he see something between them that she was missing? Sure they had been a bit closer to each other over the wall, but that was because they were all each other had. Surely Teddy wants nothing to do with her now that he has his friends and family back. But whether he liked it or not, she was going to come back into his life with news that would change everything.

Her eyes met Lee's again as he disappointingly told her that her own son would probably not want to come back with her. Though it was more than expected really. Atticus had no idea about her or Teddy, he must have thought his parents left him alone, she wondered if that Rhett was feeding him lies of how they left him. The anger she felt presented itself as she clutched the table a bit. She took slow deep breaths, knowing it was no use getting upset now. Pouring herself another glass having every intention of getting absolutely hammered, she tipped it back into her mouth before offering to pour Lee another. "Looks like we both have some explaining to do then eh?" Bexley murmured, actually finding comfort that she wasn't having to do this alone.

"Thank you Lee...really. You have earned my respect and my trust. The West is your home now and I hope you can welcome it with open arms like it has welcomed you" A smile brightened her sad features for a moment, one of genuine appreciation for everything Lee had sacrificed to tell her these things.

Lee nodded sullenly, knowing the two could relate quite heavily in the moment. He had lost his home, his life. While she lost her pride and joy, and possibly her ex. Staring at his boots for a moment, the worn square toes somewhat stricking a chord with him. He needed more whiskey. Downing the rest of his glass, he allowed her to pour him another one, noticing they together have downed a good part of the bottle. “Looks like it.”

Bexley’s smile warmed him a little, seeing that she would indeed be ok. Simpering, he sighed. “I’ll try Bexley, but it’ll be hard to see what I can do for ye’. I was a scout in the snow for almost 15 years, but Rhett knew I was one of the smartest no matter how hard I tried to hide it. I’ve advised him on tactical actions as of late, but nothing extremely serious... But i’m glad to help you in whatever way I can.”

Taking a sip of his whiskey, he chuckled to himself as a thought arose. “I’m going to need to apologize about my former statement, these boots are more comfortable than I thought. Their practicality is a little off, but this look might suit me.” Standing up to display his outfit once more, he felt something russel in his breast pocket. Retrieving the item, he found a sleek pair of golden-rimmed aviators, their lenses blacked out. Sliding them on, he stuck his thumbs in his jeans and smirked. “Do I look like one of those cowboys? What do they say.... Oh! Howdy partner!” Sure he was probably making a foul of himself, but Jack Daniels tended to do that to a person. Plus, the two needed to let off a little steam, and he was happy to help.

The whole meeting was a blur. Kyle was tired and drained of all the events. So when his mom went to show Lee the asshole the west. He decided to go home and sleep. He would sleep in his own room but he instead went to his mom room and laid down. He then fell asleep for the first time in 2 days peacefully. It wasn't until hours later, when his mom came back to the house. Calling him that he woke up. As he walked out of her room. He was still half-asleep when she kissed his head and told him to be nice. He grunted and went to his room to change and shower.

After he took a shower and changed into his clean clothes Kyle then made sure his necklace was around his neck as he walked out of his room. He went to the living room, not acknowledging Lee since he didn't like him at all. When his mom came to him, and suggested that he goes to Ava's for a while. He nodded as he put on his gloves as he was gonna parkour to her house.

"I will. I promise. Not a second later. Call me on the walkie if you need me to Ma." Kyle then went to his room. Grabbing his walkie-talkie, along with his bow and arrows. He then made sure to have two knives on him. He then headed out, giving Ava a heads-up on the walkie "Old hag, leave the window open. Heading your way. Parkoring there." He waved goodbye to his mom and then climbed out his window to the roof.

Kyle grinned as he jumped off the roof to the next house landing on his knees gripping the roof and he kept going. Letting everything go, and his mind clear. As he jumps from house to house, he feels like he's flying when he does this. He feels like he's free.

Avalon Dalton

By this point, Avalon had calmed herself down considerably. The shaking had stopped and she was now just sitting in a fetus position, curled in on herself. Something fell off her night stand and clicked to the ground rather loudly. Avalon jumped, startled, and peered over the side of the bed. Her walkie was laying on the floor, a bit busted up from the impact.

Avalon cursed and reached down to pluck it off the floor. With still slightly shakey hands, she slid the antenna back in its place. The second everything was back in the right position, a sound blared out at her. Kyle's voice telling her to leave her window open. Avalon sighed and pushed herself up off the bed.

"Copy that. Be careful, little devil." She radioed over and pushed the window wide. Wiping her habds down her sides, she looked around the room. Things were a mess. Unfinished drawings and rolled up balls of paper scattered everywhere. Avalon's eyebrows drew together as she attempted to pick up a few of the discarded papers. A particular drawing caught her eye and had her pausing.

A side profile of Bexley and Kyle standing in front of her, his bow slung around his shoulder. Bexley' s face was partially unfinished and the lines of Kyle's face were dark, like they'd been drawn with a more confident hand. In fact, everything was different about the two drawings. Bexley's whole form was light, an unconfident hand had drawn it. Whereas, Kyle was darker, drawn with a more steady and confident hand. Avalon stared down at the drawing with confusion as to why she'd draw Bexley so light.

Eraser marks lined the area where Bexley's eyes should be, a hole had been ripped there. Avalon had erased it so many times and so roughly that she'd torn a hole straight through Bexley's face. Perhaps she just couldn't get it right.

"Every day you remain on the good side of the wall is a Godsend,"

Teddy snickered half-heartedly to himself in an unconscious moment of bare honesty. The sound was oddly thoughtful, oddly heavy. He hadn't really taken a moment to think of his experience over the Wall, how he, himself felt in its wake. Hell, he had been in that cathedral and he had prayed for Bexley's safe return home, but he hadn't wished the same for himself. In some dismal corner of his mind, where the light was even dimmer, Teddy knew it wasn't because he loved his home any less. It was because, just maybe, he was getting what he deserved. It might have been his somewhat religious upbringing that opened him up so fully to the idea of inevitable justice - that he would get what was coming to him. It might have just been his mother's voice from a different time still lingering in his head.

Even so, Teddy hadn't been forced over the Wall. He had chosen to go, despite the fact that in his mind, there hadn't been a choice involved. There hadn't been another alternative. Vaguely, without clarity, it occurred to him that it was all their own doing. They chose their own paths. If he felt he was deserving of punishment, then it would be his own hand forcing himself into the fire. He wasn't at the mercy of anyone save himself, and he had chosen to give a good amount of that power to Bexley, for better or for worse.

For a moment, Teddy felt as if he were still caught in that frozen wasteland, with the ruins of another time on the horizon.

"Amen to that." He radioed back, sincere, a bit dazed, with only a touch of faux sarcasm.

He pushed on into the night, firearm in hand.

It was minutes before he caught sight of a figure in the darkness. There were lights in the distance that didn't cut through the black or alter it - just pinpricks of dissonance that made everything feel farther away than it was in truth. Losing track of space for a second, he and the figure could've been far away from anything familiar.

He approached cautiously until he recognized the shape to be one he knew, the one he was looking for. Mick lowered his rifle, and he realized he had his raised as well. He lowered it to his hip.

He cracked a smile at Mick's greeting.

"Came as quick as I could, dear."

Teddy sobered as Mick spoke again, his mind centering in the task at hand. He nodded in response, beginning to make his way in the direction his friend had motioned.

What could have happened to Andy? Why wouldn't he respond to a direct call? Teddy could think of a few reasons, and none of them were very nice.

His eyes trailed through the dimness, looking for any sign of movement. When he spoke next, his low tone was brought almost to a hush.

"You think... you think we should let Rose know about this? I mean... what if we can't find him?"

It sounded like Teddy was attempting to think ahead, though he wasn't being very successful at it. It wasn't his area of expertise. Still, the whole thing seemed off, more than a missing scout. Teddy remembered the chill he had gotten earlier, and he couldn't fight the suspicion that something more was going on.

His heart beat pounded in his ears, though nothing terribly frightening or thrilling was made known to him. It was just like any other night... wasn't it?

He thought he heard something, and he stilled, his eyes wide in the dark, trying to see clearly.

"You hear that?"

He might have been imagining it, but without the sound of his footsteps, more of the world seemed clearer. It was a sort of shuffling sound, low, close to the ground. His grip on his rifle turned to stone.

"I'm at Ava's Ma." He then swings in through the window. Landing on the floor. He wipes his forehead, and looked at Ava and smiled. He thought about what should they do during the run over here. He decided that they should work on the zombie killer. A truck reinforced to kill zombies. Mom let him drive it, and taught him how to end zombies with it.

"Can we go to the garage and work on the zombie basher?" He sounded excited cause he wanted to work on it. Maybe take it out for a spin to the zombies' lands. He needed something violent to do now that there is tension all over the place. Kyle grinned as he puppy dogs look Ava. He really wanted to go. "Please......."

The drawing held in Avalon's hands ripped slightly when a thump behind her startled her. Cursing, she placed it on her desk and turned toward the culprit that'd made the sound. Avalon ran a hand through her hair and chuckled at the boy standing before her and her posture relaxed immensely. Gone was the stiffness from her constantly reappearing nightmare, replaced with a stance that was much more suited to Avalon.

Kyle was asking something about the basher. Avalon sighed, shoving her hands in her pockets at looking out the window behind Kyle to see what little light was there. In her head, Avalon was trying to establish whether or not Bexley would get mad at her for taking Kyle to the basher at night....with no supervision, not even Avalon could count herself as supervision. But....she kind of wanted to work on it too.

Fuck it.

"Ah, sure thing, Ky. Just not for too long, your mother will rip me a new one." With a rather ridiculous lopsided grin, Avalon turned on her heel and kicked shell casings out of her way, plucking her chest holter from the ground and strapping it around herself. She turned back to Kyle with an expectant look.

"Well, kid, we gonna go or not?"

Bexley nodded her head as Lee said he would try to accept the West, stating he had been a scout in the snow for more than 15 years. He talked briefly about the ways in which Rhett had seen his potential but hadn't utilized him for anything more than tactical advice. He seemed unsure of himself and his ability, a painful realization came to her as she remembered another person who was like this. Teddy was not going to stay very far from her thoughts, as much as she would have preferred he did. Everything was reminding her of him, bring up memories that she hadn't thought about in almost a decade. He had little faith in himself when it came to advising, feel as though others were more qualified around him. Bexley, during the time they had been seen each other, worked on it with him, encouraging him to speak his mind with her. So far, she'd only seen him do it in the North. Despite the opportunity, the man said nothing during the meeting.

Bexley took another drink from her glass just as Lee mentioned the shoes. Her smile grew even wider than it had been before as she gave the man a knowing look. She had felt similar about the boots years ago, when she thought they were, 'not cool.' Her father had cherished those boots with everything he had, that's the only reason they survived this long. Lee suited them well and she had a feeling he would find more about himself in them, and perhaps give him the swagger he needed to swoon his lady friend.

She watched him reach into his breast pocket and fish out a pair of gold aviators. Her heart skipped a beat as she had nearly forgotten about the sunglasses. Despite only having just met the man, Lee had earned her trust quicker than most. She laughed lightly as he stood and asked if he looked like one of those cowboys and proceeded to give a generic western line. "You sound like Woody!" She chuckled again with the slight shake of her head. "My paw always use to say that though...instead of feeling offended by stereotypes...he would always just go along with it." Her smile faded slightly at talk of her father. "Now that I know what happened to him...he deserves a proper ceremony." Bexley would figure out a way to plan it, knowing that her faction would want to know what happened to the true great leader of the West.

"Yes! I promise mom will never know!" He then runs to Ava, dragging her out of her apartment. Closing the door behind him. He hurried up and ran to the garages. Which was not too far from Ava's. Since it was her job to fix and drive the tractor when trouble arises. Sometimes she gets to ride on the hogs but her favorite is the basher. He climbs onto the side of the buildings and started to jump from side to side until he was on the rooftop of the garage.

"You or Mom always leave the window in the office unlocked. " He shouts down to Ava, as he climbs down to the window and opens the window. Climbing into the office, he goes downstairs where the tractor is stored and opened the garage. Facing Ava, and grinning. "Easy Peasy."

Lee smiled at the childhood reference, being old enough to see the movies before what happened. Feeling he had enough of being silly, he removed the sunglasses, placing them back in their original place. “I feel like a Top Gun pilot if he were from Texas” He said with a warm smile as he sat back down in the chair.

Bexley took another dark turn, talking of her father’s proper send-off. Looking over with his steel-grey eyes he took a sip of his beverage. “I think we’ve had enough talk about depressing subject matters, so let’s change it.” Pausing as he chose the moment to think, he spoke once more when he had a idea. “Why don’t we get to know one another eh? We can play a little truth or dare...? The dare being a whole shot of whiskey. So i’ll start us off.” A sly smirk rose his face, “What’s your guilty pleasure left in this world? Can be good or bad.”

Bexley nodded her head briefly as Lee wanted to change the subject now. Her eyes were far away for a moment before she forced herself to not think of anything else about her father at the moment. Atticus was alive, and that was a blessing in itself, as much as she wanted to just throw herself over that wall again...Now with good reason. She couldn't. Lee had warned her about Rhett and if they wanted to get her son back, they were going to figure out how to get around this man. She felt that suggesting joint custody wasn't going to cut it for the Northern Wolf, even though it wasn't his child to keep.

Bexley smiled Lee's way as he suggested Truth or Dare, a game she hadn't played since she was in grade school. A short laugh of amusement bubbled past her lips and she nodded her head in agreement to playing. The question was definitely one she had to think about, guilty pleasures eh? She had quite a few of those. Some she'd rather admit to compared to others. Biting her lip, she let out another laugh as she shook her head a bit bring her glass to her lips. Her thoughts narrowed down two choices and decided to go with both of them as an answer. "Well the first one is definitely bad, and don't be letting those hippies on the other side know, otherwise I might lose my mighty reputation."A teasing tone made it clear that she could care less if he told the Easterners about her little secret. "May not be a fan of hippies but man, they know how to have a good time. Pot is my bad guilty pleasure. Unfortunately." Bexley sighed lightly before setting her glass down on the table and folding her arms. "And a good guilty pleasure of mine is singing." The only other people who knew about her little talent was Teddy and Kyle, so trusting Lee with this information was a big deal. It was her turn to ask the questions and as she looked at the man before her, she wondered if he was an open book. "What is your biggest fear?"

'Take me down to the paradise city
Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty'

As the music and lyrics played out in his head, Mick found himself unconsciously humming the Guns N' Roses song. No matter what the situation, thinking of long-haired Andy always made him think of Axl Rose and that always put one of the band's songs into his head. Tonight, it was Paradise City.

Mick eyed Teddy for a moment, still not completely sure if the guy seemed off or odd. Jumping the wall was a pretty surprising move, for a start, but he hadn't exactly seemed normal since returning, either. When the question of letting Rose know was asked, he awkwardly bit his lip as he thought about it. "I'm not sure, man. I mean, don't want to worry her over something that could just be a technical glitch. She's had a rough couple of days..." he trailed off. As he spoke of their leader, his voice had an uncharacteristically soft and concerned tone to it. Perhaps Teddy wasn't the only one displaying odd behaviour.

Before they could decided, they heard a sound which made Mick raise his gun again and quickly look around them. "This'd better be Axl," he whispered, his mind casting back to the two zombies he and Carter had seen earlier in the day.

Lee couldn’t help but chuckle at her answers, pot and singing eh?! Singing was a common answer, but the other... Not so much. Taking a sip of his whiskey, he nodded. “Aye. To make it fair i’ll also answer the question, as ye’ will.” Thinking of his answer, smiling once it came to mind. “I don’t indulge in many risky behaviors, nor do I like them... And it may sound girlish, but I do enjoy the sky. Sunrise, sunset, dawn or dusk, it’s always a magnificent sight to me... My mother had always said Your standing under the same sky that the history of this very world stood under. Look up and you’ll never be alone...” And it’s always stuck with me I guess.”

He hasn’t told anyone that quote, seeing as it was quite personal for the man. Maybe it was the dammed whiskey.... But Bexley’s question shortly followed, bringing the light-hearted nature away once more. “Fire... Never been a fan of it.” Pausing, he ran his index finger along the circular rim of the glass, before continuing. “My parents died a year before the outbreak, house fire. I escaped with a few bad burns, and a few bad memories... Your turn Bex...”

Bexley's cheeks warmed as he chuckled at her responses to his question. She shrugged her shoulders with a sheepish smile, her father would have killed her if he knew such things. Well, if he was here. Bexley remembered her father would jokingly discuss the dangers of peer pressure and drugs with her as they would be walking to secure the border from Zombies, causing a then teenage Bexley to roll her eyes at such 'dangers' nothing was more dangerous than the crawlers that plagued their world.

"Don't give in, don't shoot up and don't put out." Was the joking motto that her father use to tell her before she decided to go out and hang out with 'friends.' Little did he know she was sneaking back and forth from the West to the East side in hopes of catching the giant goofball she had a soft spot for before he went to patrol. Bexley wished she had taken more time to spend with her father than sneaking around behind his back. Lee's words interested her a great deal, especially when he revealed that he didn't enjoy risks, as the man had taken a huge one only moments ago. His words were terribly sweet and Bexley smiled softly as he revealed an old saying of his mothers. Bexley's question seemed to halt the light hearted mood they were trying to build, especially when Lee gave an answer and the reasoning behind it.

Bexley bit her lip and shook her head. "Fuck me, I can't seem to stay clear of the depressing shit." She muttered and looked to Lee with an apologetic expression. Her mind thought of her own fears and she wondered what her biggest one was. In reality, she had faced her biggest fear. Losing her son. "Losing Atticus was a big fear of mine...for a very long time. Now...now I'm afraid of being afraid." She wondered if that even made sense. She was afraid of showing weakness, showing that she too feared what would happen. Being a leader meant she had to put on a face, on that unfortunately became a part of her. Bexley gave a short laugh after a moment of silence and shook her head at her answer. "That's sounds stupid now that I think about it."

Lee nodded, smiling at her comment
about the darker tone. “I know I ran down south, but I didn’t expect it to be more depressing than Khal... Good lord ye’ a glum bunch.” Letting her talk about her fears, one being the loss of her son, the next being her skills as a leader. Finishing off his glass, he shrugged. “Leadership isn’t easy, neither is parenthood. But I can tell ye’ a story if ye’ like...”

Leaning back in the chair, he crossed his leg over the other, then began. “A few days ago Rhett had me babysit Atticus, during ye’ meeting I think... Anyhow, that boy was dying to know about ye’ Southerners. That boy is curious like ye’ , seeing as ye’ fell over the damn wall. He had me tell him about ye’ folk, told him ye’ names, and that ye’ were good people... And he was pretty content, though on our drive out I spotted the little tike on one of the snowy rooftops, thirsty for a look at ye’.”

Pausing briefly, allowing her to react, then a detail sprouting in his mind. Atticus had a teddy bear? Bloody and tangled thing, but he still cared for the damn thing... God he was observant. “When Atticus was a baby, did ye’ give him a teddy bear by chance...?”

Bexley chuckled as Lee admitted that the south was a glum bunch. At least in her own case this was true, she hadn't been the same for a long time now. Biting her lip lightly, Bexley listened intently as Lee revealed that he had been with her son on the same day they had been in the meeting with Rhett in the Cathedral. A small happy smile formed on her face as she listened to Lee describe how her son was very curious about Teddy and herself, the poor kid had no idea his parent were even in the same territory as him, let alone that they were alive. Lee noted that her son took after her own curious heart, seeing as she fell over the wall. This brought a chuckle out of her, sure she had been curious but if she hadn't been so terrified of heights she might have not slipped. Boy was she glad she had.

Bexley's mouth fell open slightly as Lee then revealed that her son had been watching them from one of the rooftops on their way out. Her heart raced just thinking about being that close to her son again. She wondered what he looked like now, only a toddler when he disappeared, she was sure to be in for a bit of a shock. Bexley was lost in her thoughts for a moment before she registered Lee's next question. The blue teddy bear that she had been given long ago came to her mind and she bit her lip.

"I have a surprise for you Bex!" Teddy said sweetly as they met in the tunnels below the border. Bexley walked towards him with curiosity in her eyes and a smile on her face. "Oh yea? What'd you get me?" She asked as she tried to peer behind his large frame to see what he was clearly hiding behind his back. He turned slightly and smiled her way, "You are absolutely terrible at surprises Bex- don't give me those eyes, you know I can't stand to say no to those." Bexley continued to stare at Teddy with large baby blues, looking like a sad puppy. Teddy groaned and shook his head with a chuckle, "Oh gosh please stop, I'm just about to give it to you now!" He didn't disappoint as he brought the hand he had behind his back into view in front of Bexley. A blue teddy bear smiled at Bexley with something that reminded her of her life size Teddy Bear standing before her. She squealed happily and took it gently before squeezing it to her chest. "Oh I love him!" Teddy smiled even wider and Bexley stood up on her tippy toes to peck his lips sweetly. "I know that its been hard for us to see each other lately, so I figured I would get you something that would always remind you of me. Know that I will always be there to hold you when you cry or feel alone." Bexley bit her lip as her eyes watered, then easily touched by such a simple gesture, her heart not yet hardened. "I love you." She whispered to him as he then leaned in to scoop her up in a warm embrace.

Bexley blinked for a moment as she realized she had been quiet a bit longer than she should have been. Bexley cleared her throat and nodded her head, "I did, it was a gift from his father to me before he was even conceived." She wondered if the boy had it still, she had never been able to find it after his disappearance which wasn't unusual as the boy could hardly part with the bear for a decent washing back then.

Lee stared at Bexley, his eyes longing for her answer, only met with silence. She must’ve remembered something. Sighing, knowing this might probably wasn’t the easiest thing for her to handle, he placed a gentle arm around her shoulder, pulling her into a side-hug of sorts...

She snapped back to reality, though not rejecting his move, explaining her thoughts. Nodding, he continued. “Well he still has that bear if it helps. Sits on a shelf in his room, along with a few other old world trinkets... Rhett must’ve brought it back with him at the raid...” The last part more for himself, he looked over at Bex, who looked more sad than before.

It’ll be ok ye’ know?”
