hollywood.

it's the home to several stars, people who shine in the limelight and who spent most of their lives working hard to be recognised for their various talents.

of course, not all of them worked hard, but there's a lot behind the scenes that most others don't know. all the lies, drama and angst seen on the big screen don't exist just there. in a world full of celebrities, there's always jealousy, backstabbing, and shady business.

in this story, we'll get to experience all of that and much more. we'll follow a group of hollywood celebrities attending a rather memorable party, going on a retreat where each of them will be out of their element, being drafted for a project that involves them all, and suddenly becoming suspects to an accident that is later revealed to be a murder.

you've got to pay a price to get to the top.

the question is, are you ready to do whatever it takes?

and more importantly, can you keep up with the life you've been handed once you get there?

i guess we'll soon find out who breaks first.

RULE ONE. all rpn rules and regulations apply! please also respect what i say, in terms of the story and major decision making. i want to give everyone creative freedom, but there will be certain things i'll have to control to help keep the story moving.

RULE TWO. when it comes to writing, i'm looking for quality over quantity, but there also needs to be something we all can work with, so around 500 words per post, or more, would be excellent.

RULE THREE. i will be expecting one reply a week, at the very least, but more is always welcome, and i value communication, so please tell me if anything's wrong or if you need to take leave. i'll understand, and i can't help you out with an issue if i don't know what's happening.

RULE FOUR. not so much a rule, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

act one: the vogue after party
Tonight was the night of the infamous Golden Reel Awards. Tt was held at the Dolby Theatre, in Los Angeles, and while it doesn't stir as much buzz as say, The Oscars, or The Golden Globes, it's still a prestigious award ceremony that most a-list celebrities attend.

Some of you may have taken an award home tonight. Some of you may not have. Regardless, what everyone looks forward to more than the award ceremony itself is the after party thrown by Vogue Magazine. It's a chance to slip into another designer outfit, meet some new people or some old friends, and more importantly: network.

Everyone's who's anyone in Hollywood can be found at this party, which means it's the perfect way to form new connections that could give you the boost you need in a world full of competitive, rising stars.

Aside from making a few essential friendships, the Vogue after party is known for one other thing โ€” the annual retreat raffle. All those who attend the party automatically have their names submitted to a raffle and at the end of the night, six people are chosen to join one of Hollywood's most prestigious director's on a retreat.

While this retreat is more of a vacation than anything, it's also for team building, because more often than not, a movie deal is in motion, and winning a raffle ticket almost confirms your involvement, which means it's a one way ticket to being recognised, if you aren't already. No matter what you do for a living, there's always room on a movie set for your talents, from writing, to script, to costume design, and even concept design.

There's still a little time before the announcement though, so until then, relax. Have a drink. Mingle. The night is sure to be an exciting one.

Music filled the air, drowning out the sounds of conversation that surrounded Callie. People were dressed to the nines even here, because this was the place to make an impression. The awards were important, but more people saw you here. More people came up and spoke to you, and Callie could see various people interacting all around.

Leather couches were arranged in various parts of the room for those that wanted a break. Unlike the Vanity Fair Oscar party, this one had a reputation for getting a little out of hand. The place held an aura of elegance, but all it took was one too many drinks to start dancing like nobody was watching. If you made that mistake and the wrong person saw the way you were acting, it could cost you a billion dollar movie deal.

Callie wasn't a huge fan of getting drunk. Alcohol, she was fond of, but she knew her limit, and she knew when to stop, at least in public settings such as these. Besides, the hangover that followed after getting drunk was a pain, and she found it impossible to work for the entire day. Callie didn't enjoy it when something hindered her ability to make music, and unfortunately, intoxication was one of those things.

"You just gonna stand around all night?"

Callie looked to her right, coming face to face with Axl, her brother. He was dressed in his own version of a tux that showed off his rocker style. He definitely lived up to the family name. "People who usually win awards don't look like... whatever you look like right now," he gestured to her face lazily with his hand, his other one holding a flute of champagne that was only half full.

Callie had won an award tonight, yes, but once again, what pissed her off was her introduction. Was it absolutely necessary to highlight that she was Joel Hendricks' daughter before mentioning her name? Axl likely knew she was still a little miffed about it or he wouldn't have come over. He'd be busy schmoozing some A-listers, seeing if he could try and get lucky. He was always overfly optimistic. And confident. Callie didn't quite align with either of those traits. Not all the time, at least.

"I'll get around. I'm just reading the room first," Callie explained. A few people had made conversation, mostly friends of her mother and father, but it was idle chit chat. Her parents weren't here today, at her request. It messed around too much with her networking. It would be even better if Axl wasn't around either but she could only ask for so much. On the brighter side, Stevie was busy touring. He had a tendency to suck up all the air in the room and Callie, personally, could do without that.

"Where'd you get that?" Callie nodded to his champaign. She had one earlier when someone was walking around with a tray full of them but she couldn't spot anyone doing that right now. Probably because there were more celebrities in her face at the moment, most of them having arrived fashionably late. Callie, on the other hand, was all about punctuality, even when it didn't matter.

"There's a whole tower over there," Axl pointed to the far end of the room. It'd be a struggle to cross the sea of people but she began to make her way there anyway, giving her brother a mock salute as a goodbye instead of actually announcing her departure.

The thought of the raffle was on her mind, but not as much as her trying to work up the courage to make conversation. She already knew several people here, since she'd worked with them, and it was still so hard for her to find the courage to make small talk.

Callie mentally cringed as she neared the table with the champagne. Maybe a little liquid courage would help because the music certainly didn't.

[div class=body][div class=bg][/div] [div class=pic1][/div] [div class=main][div class="scroll"] Avery Yang didnโ€™t want to be here.

The thought of going out somewhere where there was a lot of people and having to interact with them was making his poor little introverted heartbeat-like crazy. He just wanted to go home, curl up under some blankets and watch Tiger King. Was that too much to ask for? Apparently so. However, he did manage to find a loophole in not having to interact with others. And that loophole was the toilet; a place which he had been sitting in for the last fifteen minutes as he aimlessly scrolled through his Instagram account.

He could see pictures being recently uploaded from the red carpet and the award ceremony. Fake people wearing fake smiles as they held up their awards in their hands. Here was the biggest fake of them all; his fingers ceased scrolling as he came to a picture of himself, standing on the red carpet and holding the award he had received for the night. Sure, he didnโ€™t have a fake smile on his face, prompting to the โ€˜resting bitch faceโ€™ look that the photographers seemed to go crazy for. But the fact that he looked like he wanted to be there was the fake part. The fact that he pretended that he wasnโ€™t numb on the inside and the award meant and proved nothing. I suppose thatโ€™s why people were calling him one of the greatest foreign actors of his time.

Just staring at that picture, he felt no joy. He felt no accomplishment. He feltโ€ฆ nothing. He released a heavy sigh before almost having a heart attack as his phone vibrated in his hands to notify a text message; ah. Erik. Avery had half a thought to just ignore it and spend the rest of the night pretending that he was pooping. I mean, it wouldnโ€™t be great for his leg muscles. But at least it meant he didnโ€™t have to interact with all those other fake celebrities and stand in pictures that he didnโ€™t want to be in. His dark eyes carefully read the message; Where are you?.

A frown fell onto his face. Okayโ€ฆ maybe he had spent just a little bit longer than fifteen minutes on the toilet. Releasing a combination of a grumble and sigh, Avery combed his fingers through his locks before deciding that maybe it was just better for him to get back out there. Get into a couple of pictures. Pretend that he wanted to be there. And then he could run off as quickly as possible afterwards. Ohโ€ฆ maybe even get some McDonalds afterwardsโ€ฆ That sounded like a delight. With that last thought stuck in his mind, it brought him enough motivation to finish up and pull up his pants.

Hands washed and dried, Avery exited the bathroom into the ughโ€ฆ crowded party. Instantly that motivation had dipped again and he wanted to go running back into the bathroom. Noโ€ฆ no. You need to do this he pushed himself. Sigh. His dark eyes narrowed in on a table filled with champagne; and oh dear Lord, he felt like he was in heaven looking at all of the alcohol. Without even bothering to message June back, he made his way through over to the table with his eyes lighting up at the beautiful sight. However, as he approached the table, he noticed someone else approaching it.

Callie Joan.

Oh, he knew who she was. He was a bit of a fan; listened to her music on Spotify. He had seen her around the place too at different filming locations. But to actually introduce himselfโ€ฆ? No, no, no. That was way too scary. So, instead, he simply gave her a small, closed smile in hope that it would suffice instead of an introduction. [/div][/div]

Noemi didn't care about the lazy slobs who whined about how the awards were important. After all, they were the ones who didn't get said awards. The knowledge that she was being immortalized on social media in a blazing fight of chasing paparazzi while holding her award spread a smile on her face as she rose her flute of champagne to her lips, toasting softly to the rowdy man in front of her. She considered herself far from a lightweight, but the fact he'd managed to guzzle at least three of the tall glasses without even a waver coming to his grubby hands impressed her. She grinned, her eyes chilly as she gave him a deep nod, strands of hair slipping from the loose knot at the nape of her neck. [div class=dialogue]"It was a pleasure working with you."[/div] He clapped a hand on her arm and Noemi tried not to wince, only smiling brighter at the jovial display. Fuhrman was the director of the project that she had won her award for, and despite their close proximity in regards to work, it was clear that the amiable air between them was one sided. He laughed heartily, tilting his glass towards her in a sign of respect. [div class=dialogue]"Only you, Noe. Only you could've pulled that through."[/div] The unwelcome nickname made her cordial grin flatten into a dull pout and she wave him a small nod before skirting away with only a murmured goodbye. The glass in her hand was all too empty, and she silently slipped into the buzzing crowd surrounding the table of flutes. Something about her demeanor was off. The characteristic bravado that was her very own was muted as she grabbed another flute, slipping her old one onto a passing waitress' tray. Noemi wasn't, and had never been, a woman of chance. Throughout her whole career, she had fought to eliminate it from her life in whatever ways she could. There was no way she'd be caught, not even a sliver of a possibility that she'd let her reputation be tarnished, and absolutely no chance that she'd ever give her life away. But now, the idea that what could be the very crux of her career was strapped to mere chance? It made her nauseous, a disquieting sense of nervousness wrapping around her like an unshakable vice as she stepped away. Her eyes were caught on the scintillating lights dancing off of the extravagant clothes everyone around her seemed to wear so carelessly. Did they know the work that went into them? Did they appreciate it? Most of them weren't even worth wearing, and the small sliver of those that were noticeable were noticeable for all the wrong reasons. It was one such noticeable thing that caught her eye โ€” a huge brooch threw light around as it caught it, its wrought iron branches set against delicate black silk. It immediately drew Noemi's attention. Perhaps it wasn't the most inclined to her styles, but it was unique albeit somewhat flashy. Not tacky, no, it was far too intricate to be tacky. If anything, she just wanted to know how big of a whole it burned in that man's pretty little pocket. Likely nothing more than a tiny pockmark considering how rich they all were, but the green in her eyes wasn't just pigment as they hovered over the stone set in its iron clutches. They slowly made their way up from the gently glimmering brooch to the man's face, his lips curled into a childish smile and hair thrown in loose raven curls. But something hit her as she gazed at him, a curious sense of familiarity itching behind her fingertips. Her brows quirked as that small hint of knowing clicked into place as she looked over him. She'd seen that brooch onstage at the awards, and she remembered clapping boredly at the repetition of just another name. But her recollection of him reached a little bit further than just the ceremony, and as her eyes lingered on him just a little longer, it was like a lock finally clicking open. [div class=dialogue]"Avery Yang,"[/div] she said decisively, tapping his shoulder lightly with a small smile before gulping down more champagne. The corners of her lips curled into a smirk. Truthfully, she wanted to give her apologies for what happened to him regarding his family. It was all too public, and despite her own family issues being somewhat less blatant, she held a deep regard for him about his cruel dilemma. Instead, she simply nodded and widened her smirk. [div class=dialogue]"Congratulations. I quite like your performances."[/div] Noemi wasn't quite sure why she had decided to personally congratulate him โ€” rather it be just her natural instinct to please in such situations or some level of silent relation due to his family issues, she had done it anyways โ€” and there was nothing she could do about it rather she regretted it or not. Even as she stood, swirling around the bubbling liquid in her glass, Noemi felt like she was nothing but a marionette in a dance orchestrated by invisible strings. How funny would it be if he said the compliment right back? She knew that everyone at the after party either knew that it was all just a performance or were too disillusioned to realize it. If not for the free alcohol, Noemi was there simply out of pure responsibility to do so. Another thing that everyone at the party knew was just how important said party was, and she was certainly no exception. The impeccably polished floor was nothing but a field of landmines, and this party could be her glamorous demise.

Aleria looked up to see Coby's blue eyes staring straight into hers, his usual easy smile replaced by a frown as he stood over her, one arm rested on the back of the couch where she sat. She shifted her gaze back to the crowd and sipped on her drink, mentally lamenting her discovery. At least she'd managed to have some time to herself before he pinned down her location. "Doing what?" She asked innocently as he sat down next to her with a sigh, counting off with his fingers as he spoke. "You were so late to the award ceremony that Becca nearly put a hole in my eardrum with her panicking, I almost crashed the car rushing over to open the door for her, now we're at the after party and you have a shiny new award in your hand to celebrate but instead of enjoying it and mingling your work bug is striking. Again." Aleria shrugged her shoulders as he shot her the look she'd gotten used to seeing whenever she'd caused trouble or taken his things over the past six months. "That's Becca's doing not mine. She was the one who freaked out and it wasn't like I wanted to be late. You can't put an idea on hold like pressing pause on a video." Coby's raised brow told her he was not buying her excuse. "I was on time to receive the award anyways, your car is in perfect condition and your eardrum doesn't have a hole in it either so it's all good. As for the party I am enjoying myself." She raised her glass at him as she spoke. "Not everyday you catch me drinking an expensive glass of wine and I am mingling with you. My laptop's away as is my phone so I don't see why you would suggest that I am working." Coby shook his head, unable to keep a small smile from sneaking in. "You are exasperating."
"Also brilliant and irresistible, don't forget." He rolled his eyes, head still shaking as the smile left his face.
"Alright enough games Alery you know what I mean. You're people watching, collecting information for future use in your writing, if that's not working I don't know what is."

Busted. Seemed like she wouldn't be able to pull a fast one on him anymore though she honestly didn't see the problem with what she was doing. Everyone always seemed so eager to get on her case for working yet there were so many people who would whine about others not working hard enough. It was ridiculous how these people couldn't make up their minds. Besides, it wasn't like it got in the way of her enjoying herself, if anything it was a source of entertainment and wasn't that the whole point of a party? For the guests to be entertained? "Are you my manager or my boyfriend because you're starting to sound like Becca which is not a good thing unless you want to look ten years older than you actually are."

Coby pinched her cheek in response
. "You and that smart mouth of yours. It's because you keep turning off your phone that Becca keeps blowing up mine." "Then just turn it off" Aleria replied as she pulled his hand off her cheek. "I swear Al, you've got to kill that nasty habit of nonchalantly telling people to do things you know they can't do. She's been messaging me all night to make sure you don't cause a scene." That was precisely why she had turned off her phone. Honestly she wasn't a four year old child that needed to be monitored 24/7. She could get through a party without causing a ruckus, had Becca not stood in the room and watched her accept her award with minimal snarkiness at the award ceremony earlier? She'd even gone out of her way to avoid any critics so she wouldn't end up trading barbs with them, not that she'd ever understand why she couldn't. If someone came up and insulted you were you supposed to just smile and thank them or keep silent? Ridiculous. If anyone hurled rocks her way she'd hurl some right back at them. Appearance was not a good enough reason for her to keep quiet and she'd always believed that if her work was good enough, people would come knocking. The award she'd won tonight was proof of her abilities. Still she'd behave for tonight. Partly because Becca had repeatedly stressed how important this event was and she wanted to get her off her case, mostly because she wanted to have the time to write without having to turn off her phone because it was blowing up or do a disappearing act so that when Becca came knocking about the mess she'd made, she wouldn't be there. "The whole drive to your place she was panicking over the phone about whether you would behave yourself. I ended up hearing a horror story about how you got into it with a director during filming and it caused absolute chaos." Ah that incident. Becca had nearly fainted when she found out what happened. It wasn't her fault though. "While I sympathise with Becca's pain and would never want to be in her shoes, part of me wishes I got to see that happen. Where on earth do you get the courage to do so such things?"

"The director had some brilliant flash of inspiration and tried to change the script without consulting me even though I'm the one they pay to write the script, so we fought over it. It was written in the contract that he wasn't supposed to make any changes without my approval and I won the award with it anyways so I think I was well justified arguing with him." According to Becca though, what she thought didn't really matter. Though she had gotten many offers and opportunities riding on the success of her book series and the movies based off of it, Becca had warned her that those offers were beginning to slow. Her reputation for being difficult to work with was causing some to see her as more trouble than she was worth. Some people had started calling her things like a "director's nightmare" or "set poison" but she wasn't as bad as they made her out to be. All Aleria wanted was for her vision to be kept in tact. She hated the idea of changing parts of her story to make an extra buck or two which was exactly what that director attempted to do. If he hadn't, it would have been a largely peaceful partnership. Going out of her way to find trouble wasn't a hobby of hers, if she had the time to do that, she would spend it writing. Sometimes it felt like everyone wanted to prove her wrong because they couldn't stand the fact that she was right. Just like her brother and Dylan. Her eyes darkened at the thought of her ex. Even dead he was still a thorn in her side that those ridiculous tabloid rumours weren't allowing her to forget. If people knew the truth of her relationship with Dylan, would they change their tune? Probably not. The press were like vultures, though according to some, she was the real vulture and Coby was her next victim, which was downright ludicrous. Coby was completely different from Dylan and she was a regular if work crazed 24 year old. Sure there was the benefit of keeping other suitors at bay using each other as shields but ultimately they were together because they liked each other, not because of some absurd conspiracy. Aleria raised an eyebrow when she realised Coby had gone silent and looked over to see him adjust his tie and smile, waving at a small group that was headed their way and led by his mother, the actress, Sabrina Allen. Crap.

"Your fault," Coby whispered as he rose from his seat and offered her his hand, "I wanted to avoid this by mixing in with the crowd and mingling but you stalled so you could stay seated here and ended up making us both sitting ducks." Aleria took the hand he offered, pinching it as she got up. "Your presence called her over not mine Coby, in case you didn't notice, I seated myself at the most obscure corner of the room not the center of it. If she raises another word about marriage I don't think I'll be able to control myself and you are going to be in so much trouble for wasting all the effort I put in to be on my best behaviour." Aleria nodded as Sabrina arrived, barely listening as she introduced them to her little entourage. She really wanted to work without Becca on her case. Hell if she could, she'd be at home on her laptop right now, finishing the screenplay she'd been working on before Coby had burst into her house using the key she'd made the mistake of giving him and carted her off to the award ceremony. She'd trade this dress for more comfortable clothes too. Becca had said that it was barely suitable but it was still suitable nonetheless which was good enough, she wasn't about to look like an overdressed doll like everyone else. The only reason she was still at this after party was because of the raffle. Any opportunity to write and share her work was always welcome and according to Becca, it was more important than ever that she seized such opportunities because of the problems her reputation was causing.

Aleria snapped back to reality when Coby suddenly put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her in close.
"She really does have a brilliant mind doesn't she? I'm so lucky to be dating an award winning writer like her." They must have congratulated her on her award while she wasn't paying attention. That would certainly explain why Coby was behaving the way he was when he knew that it would likely invite his mother to make a comment about them getting married and giving her grandkids, something that he would be in for hell if she did. "Thank you. I'm really lucky that the director listened to me and followed the script despite the difficulties he faced in doing so. If he hadn't I don't think I'd be holding on to the award tonight and having you all congratulate me like this." Her response had been far too quick in her attempt not to give Sabrina any chance to mention marriage that she failed to filter out the lingering prick of annoyance she felt towards the director that Coby had reminded her of earlier, and slipped in to her typical behavior. Well there was a reason she wasn't an actress, there was only so much pretending she could do. It'd probably be best to get out of there before she ended up saying worse. Damage control was definitely not her forte. Scanning the room quickly, Aleria spotted the champagne table. It was the perfect distance away and there were a couple of people near it, just right for her little getaway.

"Excuse me but I think I see a familiar face over there. I should probably go over and say hello before the night is over. I'll be back." She slipped off with a smile and wave, knowing that she'd be hearing from Coby later about how she'd left him to the wolves. Someone had to stay behind and entertain them, it certainly wasn't going to be her. She'd pretty much reached her limit for pretending tonight and she really didn't want to risk being around for the possibility of marriage talk again. As Aleria helped herself to a glass of champagne, she noticed Sabrina and some of her friends looking her way and quickly turned to the girl in black lace standing nearby. She looked familiar but then everyone here was famous and Aleria was terrible with faces. Hopefully they hadn't actually met before and the girl just seemed familiar because her face had popped up on a magazine or screen somewhere. "Want one?" She asked holding up a glass to her. "It's actually drinkable despite how ostentatious it looks arranged in a tower and all. I'm Aleria by the way," she added quickly, being what Becca considered "well behaved" for a prolonged period of time definitely wasn't her forte, "and you are?" Aleria realised too late that it probably wasn't the best thing to ask and hoped she hadn't offended her with her ignorance. This good behaviour thing was really messing with everything and the sooner she could get home, the happier she'd be.

With eyelids shut tightly, Atlas pressed his back into the bathroom stall that he was current occupied in. He had gotten to the party about an hour ago and he had yet to make any type of interaction. Cartoonists weren't exactly on everyone's top priority list, in-fact he had barely made it at the bottom of the food chain in the 'famous realm'. The brunette cleared his throat as he let the powder continue to burn down his right nostril while his teeth dug into the sides of his cheeks. The only way he was getting through this is if he was high. There was no other alternative.

With the music pulsating through the bathroom stall, Atlas could feel his body start to relax from its former tense state. It was good for him to get out of his apartment. More so, it was good for him to interact with other actual breathing people and not the ones that were formed in his books. "Alright, let's go." Atlas pushed himself off of the stall, placing the rest of the powder into the small baggie before putting it into his inner jacket pocket. A little powder courage never hurt anyone.

He silently moved through the line of men in the bathroom, his right hand deep into the pocket of his slacks as he continued out to the main party. The only reason he was here was because it was supposed to look good for directors but Atlas was real with himself. He was never going to be Stan Fucking Lee. He didn't have to leave his shitty apartment with bodyguards.

His real enemies were the over weight men sitting in their overly expensive gamer chair calling him a weeb. Whatever the hell that meant but those were the people who wanted to kick the shit out of him. Wait----we are getting off track. Fuck.

He was getting too old for this job. Sure, he was only thirty-five, on the verge of turning thirty-six. But Avery Yang made him feel like he was almost ready for retirement. That boy sure knew how to give him grey hairs. From the beginning of the night, he had been nothing but a little shit. He kept on commenting to him (in Korean) about how he just wanted to go home and have some fast food. But as his faithful manager, Erik Choi made sure to remind him over and over again why he was here to begin with; because he had won an award and had to accept it.

But nooooo. That was way too hard for him to do. Instead, he just moped around the place, barely making comments to the reporters and not bothering to smile for the cameras. He knew that as soon as they got back into the limo together, that he was going to give that boy a true whack across the head. They didnโ€™t sacrifice everything to come to America just for him to whine and complain about wanting to watch Netflix while eating a Big Mac.

He saw as the little sign on his mobile indicate that the actor had read his message but wasnโ€™t responding to it. โ€œWhen I find himโ€ฆ Iโ€™m going toโ€ฆ Ugh!โ€ Erik cursed to himself, locking his phone and shoving it into his pocket. That was the last thing he needed. His client going completely AWOL and running off doing his own stuff. Heck, he was probably in a taxi already half way back to his apartment and half-naked, not wanting to be in that suit any longer.

Erikโ€™s dark eyes glanced around the environment. Sure, he had to say that Avery had a point. He too would rather be home watching a movie than talking to people here. Working in this industry, you have to get your hands dirty. And that was the last thing he felt motivated to do about now. Bringing up his champagne glass to his lips, he took a final sip as he tilted his head back. He then placed the glass on the table behind him, knowing that a waiter would come to collect it soon, he brought his attention back to the area before him.

Well. If the little shit wasnโ€™t going to respond to his message, Erik was going to have to go out and look for him instead.

And so his quest began; on the hunt for Avery Yang. It really didnโ€™t help that it was flooded with various celebrities far and wide. And half of these celebrities were complete assholes anyways. As he walked through the crowd, he tried to look at the face of every passing person in hopes to see Avery. But nothing. So, he decided to change his tactic. Instead, he tapped the shoulder of a nearby male.

โ€œExcuse me, sorry,โ€ he began before pulling out his phone and opening up his photos app. He pressed on a photo which he took of Avery on the red carpet for the boyโ€™s Instagram account and enlarged it for the male to see. โ€œHave you seen this man around? His name is Avery Yang. He won the Uprising Actor award tonight at the show.โ€ [/div][/div] [div class=brush][/div] [div class=name]erik choi.[/div] [div class=pic2] [div class=i1][div class=i2]i'mma kill this lil shit[/div]mood.[/div] [div class=i1][div class=i2]the vogue after party[/div]location.[/div] [div class=i1][div class=i2] yousmelldead yousmelldead [/div]tag.[/div] [div class=i1][div class=i2]click me[/div]outfit.[/div] [/div] [/div] [/div] [class=body] width:100%; height:450px; margin:auto; position:relative; background-color:var(--bgcolor); background-image:var(--bgtexture); background-size:40% [/class] [class=pic1] width:300px; height:350px; border-radius: 90px 0px 0px 90px; border: 10px solid #737373; background:var(--image); background-size:cover; background-position:50% 20%; position:absolute; top:35px; left:11%; filter: grayscale(100%) brightness(120%); transition:2s; [/class] [class name=pic1 state=hover] filter:grayscale(0%) brightness(120%); transition:2s; [/class] [class=main] width:480px; height:350px; background-color:var(--mainbgcolor); position:absolute; left:33.3%; top:35px; border-top:10px solid #8a8a8a; border-bottom:10px solid #8a8a8a; overflow:hidden; [/class] [class=pic2] width:320px; height:350px; border-radius: 0px 90px 90px 0px; border: 10px solid #8a8a8a; background-color:#8a8a8a; background-size:150%; background-position:50% 50%; position:absolute; top:35px; left:66.8% [/class] [class=i1] width:270px; height:77px; padding:8px; color:#e1e1e1; text-align:center; font-size:25px; font-weight:bold; cursor: url('https://i.imgur.com/8akxkMH.png'), auto !important; text-shadow: 2px 2px 4px #000000 [/class] [class=i2] width:270px; height:50px; opacity:0; transition:2s; font-size:15px; color:#e1e1e1; padding-top:10px; font-family:Karla; position:absolute; background-color:#8a8a8a; cursor: url('https://i.imgur.com/8akxkMH.png'), auto !important; font-weight:normal; [/class] [class name=i2 state=hover] opacity:1; transition:2s; [/class] [class name=scroll] width: 100%; height: 98%; overflow: hidden; box-sizing: content-box; overflow-Y: scroll; overflow-X: hidden; padding-top:10px; padding-right: 20px; padding-left:10px; padding-bottom:20px; font-family:Karla; font-size:14px; color:black; [/class] [class=name] width:400px; height:20px; font-size: 40px; font-weight:bold; position:absolute; top:330px; left:235px; color:#e1e1e1; text-shadow: 2px 2px 4px #000000 [/class] [class=brush] background:var(--brush); background-size:cover; width:300px; height:142px; position:absolute; top:305px; left:190px; filter:grayscale(100%) [/class]

callie joan
Callie was about to reach out and pick up one of the glasses of champagne when she heard someone speaking. It took a moment for her to realise that the words were directed and her, and she turned to face the dark haired woman not too far away. It was a surprise that Callie'd been able to hear her over the loud โ€” and awful โ€” music, and perhaps more surprising to meet someone who didn't recognise her for her father or her mother, or either of her brothers.

No, not surprising. Refreshing.

"Yeah, thanks," Callie nodded and accepted one of the glasses that was stretched out in her direction. One sip of the bitter liquid definitely improved her mood, though she did her best to hold back a cringe. She wasn't overly fond of champagne as a drink, but she sure as hell wasn't going to make a fool of herself by drinking her weight in whisky and suddenly being remembered for something else โ€” which still wouldn't be related to her music.

"Callie," she introduced herself when the other woman asked. While many people in the room would give her a pointed look and expect her to come to the answer herself, Callie was not one of those people, and the more she could introduce herself as Callie Joan instead of being recognised as Callie Hendricks, the better.

"You don't really seem very excited about being here," Callie pointed out, unable to keep herself from noticing. She only picked up on it because it was the same way Callie felt right now. She was always up for a party, but not pretentious ones like these, were people only got together to mingle and make deals. She supposed that was how show business worked, and she should probably benefit from it while she could, but she already won big tonight, and she'd won big before. She knew she'd continue to do so without the help of schmoozing or her family name.

Before Callie could ask about Aleria's mood further, static filled the air, followed by a high pitched whine that lasted only a second, but made Callie cringe nonetheless. She turned her attention toward the source of the sound and witnessed a man in a tux standing on the small stage that had been set up. Of course. It was time to announce the raffle winners. Callie was probably only excited about that part of tonight because an all expense paid vacation sounded nice, and if it gave her the chance to work with a well known director, then that was a bonus.

She thought it was best she try and find her brother to make sure he wasn't holed up in some closet somewhere with one of the well dressed celebrities โ€” or in this case, barely dressed celebrities โ€” since it would raise a few questions if he wasn't around and his name happened to be called. Callie gave Aleria a friendly smile. "You'll have to excuse me," she raised her glass a little. "It was nice to meet you."

After parting, Callie moved away from the crowd that was gathering around the stage to look around for Axl.

Fingers delicately wrapped around the stem of the champagne glass, Avery stood there and observed his surroundings. Well, he looked like he was. In reality, his brain was starting to calculate which McDonalds meal he wanted to pick up on the way back to his apartment complex. Oh, he was really craving a McNugget meal. But he also did want to get a burger of some sorts. Not to mention fries and maybe a McFlurry. Jesus Christ, the more he thought about ridding himself of his God-awful suit, the more he yearned for it. Nothing was more perfect than the thought of wearing sweats while watching Tiger King and shoving his face with fast food right about now.

Just as he was in the process of taking a sip of the champagne, he heard his full name along with a tap on the shoulder. At first, he thought it was going to be Erik, preparing to blast him for avoiding the party. But then he had to remind himself that it was a ladyโ€™s voice that said his name. And then he also had to remind himself the time Erik had tricked him into coming into the main office by pretending to be a brand-new assistant that needed to be interviewed by putting on a girly voice over the phone. So, mentally preparing himself for a scolding of a lifetime, Avery turned around with high expectations of seeing his manager.

However, it wasnโ€™t his manager. It was a lady.

Averyโ€™s brow rose in curiosity as he moved his glass away from his lips, seeing the corner of her lips curling into a smirk. How did she know who he was? Oh well, duh. She was probably at the award show and saw he won an award. Sometimes he had to remind himself that he was actually famous and that there were people out there who probably knew him better than he knew himself. He was still getting used to being known in America though. In Korea, everyone knew who he was. But when he started work here in America, people would often get him confused with other Korean actors or even ask if he was from BTS.

Hearing her speak once more, congratulating him, his eyes widened slightly. Oh yes. That was probably a reason why she wanted to talk to him. He also forgot that there were nice people in the world. โ€œOhโ€ฆ ahโ€ฆ thank youโ€ he responded, giving her a small head bow as he had a classic Avery human glitch. Even after all these years, he still didnโ€™t know how to respond to compliments without his face burning up and stuttering over his words. But now, here was the other issue; he had no clue who this girl was.

Looking at her choice of outfit for the night, he wanted to say that she looked like she had been inspired by Billie Eilish. She wasnโ€™t wearing a dress like ninety-nine per cent of the female population at the award ceremony. And he didnโ€™t remember seeing her on stage tonight. Well, to be frank, he didnโ€™t remember much about who was on the stage because he was either messing around with items on the table prior to his award and after receiving his award, he was wondering about the hallways pretending to go to the toilet. Wellโ€ฆ might as well bite the bullet to ask her who she was, as embarrassing as it mightโ€™ve seemed. He opened his mouth, about to ask her when a high-pitched sound echoed throughout the air.

Scrunching his face at the sound, Avery quickly looked over to where the source of the sound was coming from. Oh, right. The raffle. He had almost forgotten about that. Avery bashfully looked back at the girl and gestured towards the stage. โ€œI think theyโ€™re uhโ€ฆ doing the raffle announcementโ€ he informed her. Well, of course, Captain Obvious.
