Name: Damia “Dame” Velimir
Age: 122; looks to be in her late teens, early 20s.
Species: Vampire; originally human.

Appearance: Damia stands at 5’2”, with a small, slight build, and pale skin. Her eyes vary based on hunger – from a silvery-pink to a deep crimson, with the crimson indicating starving. She has long black hair that falls to a bit beyond the middle of her back, mostly straight. She also has two, retractable fangs among her upper set of teeth. She is freezing to the touch.

Notable Talents:

  • Enhanced Senses – as a vampire, Damia has notably enhanced strength, speed, eyesight, smell, and things of that nature, so even though she appears frail, she is actually significantly stronger than she looks.
  • Illusions – due to being a part of Amon’s bloodline, Damia has the ability to create illusions. Right now, she is only able to make them as sight-and-sound illusions.
  • Well-Educated – as a member of the Velimir family, she received a significant educational upbringing varying from trade information, language skills, to dance instruction, and violin instruction.
  • Well-Traveled – not so much with outside of cities, but within, is able to blend and interact within cities well.

Brief History:

Damia Velimir was born the only child of Margerie and Heath Velimir, as Margerie seemed to keep losing her children when she tried. She was treasured for that, and raised to prepare her to inherit the Velimir mercantile empire, as her family was among those who had managed to invest well, and fund the right things, to place them highly, not only as nobles by birth, but rich by trade. Her uncle was engaged to the princess of Aveline, and her family hoped to see her wed well, as well.

Damia was also sheltered a bit due to this. She traveled, she met nobility, and the people her family worked with – but not much beyond that, any adventure was always well-guarded.

She didn’t realize that, until it was far too late.

There was a celebration for her uncle and his wife’s first child, and she went along with her family, now 19. Her family was hoping to also use this as a way for her to meet someone acceptable.

She did not.

She met the worst possible person: Samael Adalas, a vampire of the Adalas bloodline, a direct descendant of Adrian Adalas who is considered to be one of the originating vampires, and one of the few who remains active in the world. Samael had started to move up in the world on his own, but the Velimir family had halted him, unwavering and unwilling to compromise in markets he wanted to dominate.

He saw an easy way to deal with that, and seduced the naïve Damia, turned her, and left her to be found.

Damia was taken home immediately, though no one quite understood what happened. The bite did not remain, licked and healed, though it became somewhat apparent that something happened. Damia flinched in sunlight and stayed in shadow, or inside. Her eyes changed from green to a silvery hue, that also, gradually, changed. She refused to eat, and just seemed to sleep. Her parents brought in plenty of doctors to tend to her. No one thought of vampirism.

Not until Heath’s throat was opened and his blood was across Damia’s sheets.

Damia realized it then, and was horrified with herself and what she’d done. She fled her home, and never looked back, though she’s heard of how things have fallen since then. Velimir is practically an unknown name, after a mere century.

Damia has tried to ignore what she is. She has not gone to meet other vampires intentionally, she has not made herself known to them, but has figured things through a lot of trial and error, including the illusions. Her bitterness and anger keeps her from approaching the vampires, though she knows where plenty can be found. She doesn’t know the name of the one who bit her. She doesn’t know his actual bloodline. He gave her fake information at the party – going under the name Amon Ruiz.

She’s at least learned he must be of the Adalas bloodline, based on her talents.

And she has a suspicion of who.

But she knows she’s not ready to face them, and she mostly just wants to be cured. She’s traveled the world trying to find a cure, and none have been successful. Which means she still has to feed on humans. She still has to hide from the sun.

And she still has to feed her hatred of vampires who like being vampires.

Name: Malachi iben Trist (Malachi of the Trist Clan)
Age: 63, looks to be more in his late 20s, early 30s.
Species: Phoenix-Shifter

Appearance: Malachi stands at 6’4”, with a broad, muscular build, and dark-tanned skin. He has multiple tattoos, a white sun on the back of his left shoulder, and a phoenix at the back of his right leg, also in white. He has dark, copper-brown hair that he usually keeps back in a ponytail. When it’s loose, it falls around his shoulders. He has unnatural orange eyes, as well as elongated fingers that end in clawed nails, and his hair does seem to have feathers within it that are wholly natural, and his temperature is quite high, seeming to produce heat from wherever he is.

He can shift to have wings in his more human-ish form.

He can also shift to take the form of a phoenix, an orange-red bird.

Notable Talents:

  • Shifting – he can move from mostly human, to winged human, to phoenix forms, only.
  • Fire Manipulation – he is able to manipulate and control the element of fire.
  • Healing – his tears are known to have healing properties. So are the rest of him, but he’s not exactly looking to get cut up anytime soon.
  • Rebirth – when Malachi dies, he can be reborn – however this would be as an infant. He would retain his memories. He hasn’t died before. This can occur due to old age, or being killed. There are poisons that may stop this rebirth process.
  • Cooking – he travels a lot, he learned to cook on the road.
  • Survival – mostly in relation to understanding climates and food in an area.
  • Swordplay – able to wield a single sword and has training it.
  • Animal Empathy – generally able to understand and communicate with most animals, though particularly avian.
  • Flight – with wings, only.
Brief History:

Malachi iben Trist was born high up in the mountains outside of Meltropis, to the Trist clan of shifters, notably phoenix shifters. He grew up with his parents and clan, learning their ways, and mastering the art of shifting. He considered the entire clan as his family, really, though there were others out there, partially to prevent in-breeding, and he was expected to one day join the clan of his partner, whoever that would be.

When he reached the age of 40, his parents passed on – reborn, of course, but now infants. His elder sister and her family took them in, and he opted to go venture through the world at that time. There are not many that do, the clans fairly isolated from the rest of the world, but about every century, they do usually have travelers go out and report on the state of things.

He wanted to come back with new stories to tell his parents and his family.

He’s spent twenty years roaming, seeming to age only ten years in that time. He knows he ages a bit more slowly than humans, so far as appearances go. Few believe he’s in his 60s – few actually understand anything about shifters, whether Phoenix, Dragon, Wolf, Lion – anything. They don’t even know how many there are, let alone what can or cannot be a Shifter.

He’s found the world a bit confusing, but terribly interesting, as well. He knows his parents would now be children, aware of who they’ve been, but he hasn’t yet brought himself to going back. Once he returns, he knows that is the end of his journey, and he must consider a future in a new clan. He isn’t ready for that just yet.

He’s always felt as if he hadn’t found quite what he was looking for, yet.

Name: Piper Morgan
Age: 25
Species: Human

Appearance: Piper stands at a moderate five foot seven, and has a full, athletic figure. She's been insecure of her weight throughout the years, but thankful that puberty and physical activity has helped lessen a bit of the baby fat. She has a short torso and long legs, with arms that are usually busy flailing around in conversation. Her hair is a modest red, a sincere ginger colour, with golden and brown highlights toward the back of her head. She's got bright, quizzical blue eyes that are often narrowed in concentration. An expanse of freckles crawl across her cheeks and nose, which are not safe from any summer sun making them explode.

Notable Talents:
+ Piper is extremely flexible, and has been a gymnast since she could walk. She's won countless awards in regional competitions, and is well versed in aeril silks as of her early teen years.
+ She's got an uncanny sense of direction, and a natural intuition for remembering locations
+ Her dad got her starting to shoot when she was thirteen, and since then she occasionally visits the shooting ranges with him.
+ Good cook, lots of hands on experience and Youtube videos have provided her with an impressive skillset, as well as usually being the one to prepare meals for her family
+ Handy, the tinkerer of her family. Well-known for her science experiments and interest in shop class.
++ POWER (to be gifted): ONE HALF / telekinesis, and the very basic ability to manifest objects. Starting very small, and very brief things.

Brief History: The Morgan family are anything but special. Gifted with success, yes, and happier together than apart. They're very simple, and living modestly wealthy just outside of city limits. An expansive acreage, and supplemented with a few roaming horses and crops. Joseph Morgan, the patriarch, crafted most of his wealth as a bestselling author of countless history books, as well as being a professor in Medieval Literature and Linguistics. The mother, Tessa Morgan, was a stay-at-home mom and retired baker. She baked cakes for the most prestigious of clients, and Piper most remembers the house smelling of cakes and cookies whenever she got home from school.

Piper and her twin brother, Lucas, were a bit of a complicated birth for the parents. They opted not to have any more kids afterward, and that was enough for the two. Piper, older by three minutes, looked after her brother everytime they left the house. She made the promise to her mother, as Lucas was often sick in their childhood. He was weak, asthmatic, and a brilliant child. Piper adored her little brother, and on more than one occasion definitely connected her fist to the stomach of the older kids who bullied him.

Piper and Lucas were inseparable. Things were made better by their loving parents, and Piper never saw them fight or have any disagreements. In her mind's eye, her family was perfect.

Things changed when the twins turned fourteen, and on a car ride back from their birthday dinner, a drunk driver t-boned their car. The twins were banged up, but alive. Their dad was relatively unarmed, being in the passenger seat, but their mother... was not. Tessa was in a medically induced coma due to her injuries, and like that for about a year. Things went downhill quickly, and the family opted to pull the plug and spare her the pain. They said she wasn't going to wake up any time soon.

The tragedy changed Piper, hardening her even more than before. She kept Lucas tight by her side, and found her grades beginning to slip. She acted out her pain and anger by devoting her time to gymanstics and woodworking, as well as skipping school and spending their senior year just barely floating between graduating and not graduating.

Eventually she found her grief and anger wouldn't change much if she continued to act the way she did. She went to trade school just out of high school and has remained at home since, working full-time at an auto-shop about ten minutes from the home.

real-life-disney-characters-jirka-vinse-jonatan-vaatainen-finland-39-5b28a5b3efce0__605.jpg

Name: Lucas Morgan
Age: 25
Species: Human

Appearance: Lucas is fairly tall, at about six foot one, but by no means the tallest of his family. He carries himself with a bit of a slouch, usually weighed down by the amount of books in his bag. His angular face is accented by the faintest of freckles, and his skin is a bit more tolerant than his twin sister's to the sun. His red hair is much darker, and closer to brown, but still carries the same highlights and lowlights. His eyes are big and brown, with the typical concerned eyebrow raise on his face. He's lean and lanky, with large hands and big feet he sometimes stumbles over. His smile is one of the sweetest, with a dimple on the left side.

Notable Talents:
+ Lucas is extremely intelligent, beyond just regular schooling. He learns fast, remembers well, and has a catalog of useless facts and trivia that he sometimes spews to fill the empty silence.
+ He's almost as handy as his sister, though his leaning is more toward tech things. He's built several computers and loves to fiddle with motherboards and chips. He's made a few game apps in high school.
+ Can speak french semi-fluently. Maybe useless, not at all taught in school, and purely from one summer when he was grounded and stuck in his room.
+ A very good runner. Like, very fast. Long legs.
++ POWER (to be gifted): ONE HALF / illusions, as to hide something/manipulate the image of something in someone's eyes. very basic, but can transport the image directly to the mind of the target.

Brief History: Lucas was the smaller twin in the womb, and although he was a fighter, his body tended to reject any sort of determination he had. He was colicky, underweight, but a ball of love. He adored his mother, and although his sister tended to dote on him like she was a mother figure, Lucas always ran to his mother in times of distress. He loved to be held by her, rocking by the fire, and to help her out in the kitchen. Being at home was Lucas's favourite thing, and he despised school.

It was made worse by the bullying. He was a quiet, nerdy kid who enjoyed computer time. He loved history too, and all the facts he would recite in class annoyed some of the older kids. They'd corner him at recess and tease him, poking his nose and pulling his shirt. Lucas was never one to fight back, and it was only when Piper intervened that anything would get done. But when she wasn't there, of course, it was just made worse by her existence. Lucas didn't loathe his sister, but he hated that she always hovered by him. Was she afraid he'd break?

He turned to track and field to try and make a name for himself. By no means was he a star runner, but he always placed first in the sprints. Having some achievement of his own helped the boy's confidence, but things only got worse when their mother passed.

It was deeply traumatic to Lucas, and rather than act out, he withdrew. He remained studious, and dedicated to school, but he stopped talking. He was silent for a year after their mother passed on, and during it he spent a lot of time reading and keeping busy. He'd accompany his father to his lectures, soaking up the information as if he was a student in the university courses.

It wasn't a surprise that once Lucas had had time to grieve, he immediately applied for school. He wanted to be a historian, in love with the past, and remembering his mother in any way that he could. Of course he got in, with his stunning transcript, and transitioned fairly well. It was a good experience for him, and although he missed his family, he missed his mother more.

Recently being accepted into a Master's degree in History, Lucas has returned home for a spell. He has full intentions for it to be his last time that he lives at home.
