Harbinger of War, Chaos, and Poptarts
Based on the universe of the book version of World War Z (By Max Brooks), a group of survivors find themselves trapped in the city of Manhattan, surround by millions of zombies and desperate survivors.
The US government retreated past the Rocky Mountains, following their defeat at Yonkers, the night of modern (2007?) weapons of mass destruction failing against the undead hordes. After a full retreat to the west coast, with the rest of the country left to fend against the hordes, with empty promises of a return. The world is overrun, the undead have spread to every country- there is no hope
The infection, or solanium is spread through contact, with blood in a wound or a simple bite being lethal (with a 10% chance of survival if the exposed limb is cut off). There is no cure, and the world has failed to stop the situation, whether it was because of the World Government’s inability to combat it, or corruption you do not know.
The virus’s source is Unkown, though past outbreaks have occurred all over the world. China is a likely candidate with the recent uncovering of their containment and repression of information, though only twenty years ago we saw major outbreaks in our own major city’s - starting with an incident in the Joshua Tree National Monument and causing 4 major outbreaks.
The government did its best to suppress the outbreaks, with American Alpha Team’s eliminating minor outbreaks on the American continent while the US prepared for the storm, allowing a phony “Vaccine” for the virus, telling people the strange illness in Africa was Rabies. Now, an independent reporter has exposed these lies and thrust the world into panic as the undead begin to scratch at your doors.
