Let's not make the same mistake we did in the first Clash. Im reading through the PM channel and let's be honest in the long run Gilgamesh and Alcuard were probably just a mistake in the long run.
EDIT: What I mean by this is let's manage OP characters.
yeah... @Captain Gensokyo, no. first of, no FTL speed. nope. not happening.
secondly, she can withstand blows from something that breaks planets, and knives cant hurt her. hmm...nope.
thirdly, while im alright with earth bending 'titanic' destruction as mentioned is nope.
fourthly, a sword that is strong against everyone, turns people into mist, fires death lasers, creates super armour, cannot be disarmed...does your character have any weaknesses, whatsoever? im not even going to mention the earth bending keystones of stupidity.
in short, nope.
The way I'm keeping some of my massively OP submissions (Reimu with unrestrained use of Fantasy Heaven, which makes her unreachable for as long as she wants; and I'll probably apply as Tenshi and Yukari later, too, who are stronger than Reimu) in check is through them being in character. In all of the Touhou games, none of the characters are showing their true potential. They're fighting with danmaku—a martial art—and that's what they'll use against characters who want a fair fight. If, let's say, a dictator came into Gensokyo with fanfare and announced his plan to conquer and enslave/genocide everyone inside, he'd be stomped without much trouble. Gensokyo is more concerned about keeping itself in balance than dealing with the affairs of other worlds. Basically, all of these characters come "pre-nerfed" like Crenando mentioned due to in-character reasons.
I think that if it's reasonable for an OP character to restrain his/her abilities, that should be good. Even if OP characters were introduced (mainly evil ones), then by this point we already have accepted OP characters who can combat those OP ones.
i couldnt give two shits about your reasoning. like i said before - no OP characters. no exceptions. if you don't like it, tough.
besides, if your main reason for using op characters is 'well, they are op but they just hold back' then why not just nerf them in the first place?
which means nah, that cs isnt accepted. why not try another, non OP character?
Why do we always find each other in these multi fandom rp, @Thepotatogod?
