"Wait and Hope"
Player Characters are humans who have for some reason become hosts to powerful elemental spirits known as [Eidolons]. These specific humans are called [Evokers] by residents of the World of Vermilion. Through the power of their Eidolon, Evokers gain magical abilities that allow them survive against adversaries in the World of Vermilion. In addition, any sorts of items they might wield in combat such as boxing gloves or folding chairs are imbued with their Eidolon's magic and become lethal against the World of Vermilion's inhabitants.
Magic
Evokers can use the powers of their Eidolon to cast spells. Casting is simple, all an Evoker must do is focus on their target and yell out the spell's name. Oftentimes, spells will follow a certain naming convention that determines how powerful they are. For example, the Fire spell is most basic form of fire magic. Fira and Firaga are the second and third tiers that are more powerful than the last. Utility magic also exists and can be learned by Evokers of any elemental affinity. However, most of these utility spells do not follow the structured power tiers of elemental magic.
Trance Mode
When Evokers enter the World of Vermilion, they undergo a transformation into [Trance Mode]. Trance Mode is the state at which an Eidolon and its Evoker synchronize. In Trance Mode, an Evoker's clothing will change to resemble its Eidolon. Markings may appear on their skin and their hair color may change. Through combat an Evoker can strengthen themselves and unlock Trance Mode's second and third levels. Each new level further alters their appearance, oftentimes causing their clothing to transform into armor and the growth of more bestial characteristics such as tails, scales or horns. Each level also unlocks the next stage of elemental magic.
Elements
This circle represents how the elements interact with each other. Elements that are not connected to each other resist and damage each other neutrally. Evokers and their Eidolons will have an elemental affinity to one of the elements on the chart or simply have no affinity at all. In that instance, a non-elemental Evoker will react neutrally to the elements.
