In June of 1722, privateer captain Liam Bowen stole a fragment of a map from the dangerous pirate ___, this map, fabled to lead to the legendary city of El Dorado, has had a bloody history. Many have fought and died to get their hands on it. It is now August, and Liam Bowen has taken his ship, the Seawolf, to Port Royal to seek shelter from his enemies and to seek aid from his friend ___. With the pirate he crossed relentlessly pursuing him, and the enticing treasure of El Dorado just out of reach, he must plan to find the rest of the map.
My aim for this RP is a rollicking swashbuckling adventure. The two blanks represent plot important characters that must be filled by someone (preferably someone other than me, though if no one wants to take them I will) if you want to take on one of your rolls, just say so in your character sheet. If you do take on a plot important roll, you'll still have total freedom, you'll just have something added to your back story. This by no means restricts the number or choice of characters, you can really play anyone at this time period and work yourself into the story in a way you see fit, that's what makes it interesting.
So, now to rules. The rules will follow the essential RP Nation rules, which you all should have read. But in addition:
1. I will expect a certain degree of historical accuracy, I will allow it to be bent a bit. I am a huge history nerd, so you can consult with me any time you need to.
2.You are allowed your own ship, but be reasonable. A pirate is not going to be sailing around in a ship of the line.
3. Of course, no autohitting, I expect and hope that there will be battles between players, both on the sea with cannons and on deck or land with swords.
