First thing's first, some guidelines and such. Spelling and grammar are much appreciated, simply because I can reply more easily when I can read something easily. Communication is key; if you feel like you're starting to lose interest, let me know. We might be able to make it interesting again. If not, no hard feelings, just don't leave me hanging without a word. Ah, my characters are predominantly furry. The main reason is because I enjoy drawing my own characters and I never really figured out how to draw human faces. I also just find it more interesting to mix in those instinctive quirks into their personalities. I like world building and building my characters as I go. To that end, if you have questions or ideas, please, speak up. Random questions help me think of things I wouldn't have otherwise considered. And of course, this is a team effort, so don't be afraid to contribute to the story. I think that covers the preliminaries. On to the important part.

WITCHCRAFT! I've had a craving lately to play a witch, so I'm making thread specifically for just that. Now, I actually have two settings in mind using two very different kinds of witches.

First up, taking inspiration from Bayonetta, this one is set in a modern fantasy setting, or at least early industrial. Witches are individuals who have formed a pact a powerful demon. The witch receives immense magical power, most often including the ability to partially or fully summon their pact demon for brief periods of time. They also gain eternal youth, living forever looking no older than their prime years, so long as no outside force kills them. The demon, if and when the witch dies, lays claim to the witch's soul. The demon is not allowed to kill the witch early, and most wouldn't want to. The longer a witch lives, the more she trains her power, and the more valuable her soul becomes. Witchhunts in the past have rendered them nearly extinct, but a few still linger in the modern world.

My character in this would be Selene:
Selene.png

Selene is a long-haired cat with markings like a calico. She's a few hundred years old, thanks to her pact. She likes to flirt and show off, but she has never pursued a serious relationship of any kind. A wild, free spirit, her pact is appropriately with a beast demon. In combat, She wields a pair of custom made magic revolvers. When the revolver chambers are empty, they fire weak, rapid fire bursts of magic. By "reloading," she can fill the chambers with magic for more powerful shots with additional effects. Despite wielding guns, she's not afraid to engage in close combat, either hitting the enemy with her guns or unleashing powerful kicks. Thanks to the magic coursing through her, she possesses physical strength beyond that of normal people. By calling on her pact demon's power, she can summon his claws to attack alongside her own melee attacks. And when things get truly dire, she can make a blood offering to channel even more power, taking on a savage, bestial form. Selene also has a familiar, a hellhound named Draco. A longtime companion of hers, Draco is intelligent and capable of speech. Normally quiet and brooding, he's a keen hunter and a vicious fighter. In recent times, Selene has allowed him to bind his soul with a custom built motorcycle of hers, allowing him to switch between his natural hellhound form and the form of a demonic motorcycle equipped with afterburners that are definitely not street legal. I haven't drawn him and don't really have a visual reference, but I imagine he looks something like the Pokemon Houndoom, only more wolf-like

Selene works as a mercenary, taking odd jobs that mostly involve hunting down unsavory types that are out of reach of typical law enforcement or more than the law can handle. These unsavory types are often offered to the underworld to appease her underworld supporters.

Now, regarding a story, it's kind of open-ended. There could still be witchhunters about who still believe witches to be inherently evil, or else some sort of light counterpart. Sages, or some such.

The other idea takes place in a more medieval fantasy setting. In this one, "witch" is the name given to certain individuals born with powerful magic. Normal people are unable to use magic, and even the exceptional few are very limited in what they can do. Only witches can use magic with any kind of real potency. Identified by their white pupils and unusual skin tones, witches are shunned as abominations. Most are killed or abandoned at birth, and the few that survive must live alone. While the magic can be hereditary, witches can still be born from normal people. Because witches must be self sufficient, their self-made clothes often give them a rather eccentric look.

Witchhunters are individuals who are specially trained to find and capture witches, or else kill them on the spot. While they are primarily warriors, they've trained to use some limited magic to aid in their fight against witches. Part of that allows them to sense the magic in a witch, identifying them even if the telltale physical features are hidden. Because the ruling power has deemed them abominations, anyone who is capable of fighting is expected to try and apprehend any witch them find, and all others are expected to report any witch they see.

For this, my character would be Sage:
Witch.png

Sage is a fox, somewhere in her early twenties. Born to a warrior and a baker, her father disowned her on sight. Her mother, unable to kill her own child, took her out to a forest where she had heard rumors of a witch. By chance, she found the witches home and pleaded with her to look after her child. The witch agreed, on the condition that the woman never return and never speak of that place, or else her daughter would be in danger. The witch then raised Sage as her own, teaching her how to hone her magic and survive in the world that would see them destroyed. Sage, never knowing any better, grew up seeing the witch as her mother, never knowing of the ones that gave her away. When she eight, Sage's witch mother mysteriously disappeared without a trace, leaving Sage to fend for herself. Now mature, Sage seeks to find her mother, though she truly has no idea where to start.

Sage is a cheerful, outgoing sort. She strives to stay positive and is endlessly curious, and a bit naive as well. That combined with her relatively limited world experience gives her a rather childlike demeanor. Her cheerfulness masks a deep loneliness, however, having been on her own for most of her life now.

At the story's start, a small town will be having an annual festival. Sage had recently figured out that she could easily slip in, wearing a cloak and keeping her head down. Amidst the festivities, no one would question her, and she could get festival treats just by asking for them. As such, she'd been attending regularly. I figure it would be at this point that a witchhunter would cross her path, identifying the young witch immediately.

Aaaand that's about it, I think. If you're interested or have any questions, lemme know.

Hii! If this is still open I'd like to roleplay with you!

Is it okay if I play multiple characters? I'd like to do the second idea (as I prefer the fact it's a medieval/old setting) but playing a witch hunter personaly isn't appealing to me :3

Also my characters would be human and such, I can't draw animals to save ny life (sob😭😭)

Also, do you have age limit of your partner? Just to make sure.

Yes, it’s still open. Yes, you may have multiple characters. Yes, humans are fine. And no, I don’t really have an age limit. I tend to dip into the mature themes, but nothing outside of the site rules, and I can tone it down as needed.

In any case, send me a PM and we can talk through the details.
