Isla laughed softly as a small wet nose sniffed her hand in an affectionate way before the tiny creature clambered onto her head in search of shiny things. The Niffler had spotted the sparkly hair slide in her silver-blonde hair and was now trying to pry it from her.
"Gordon, no," she said firmly, picking the furry, mole-like creature up and placing him in front of her with a stern expression.
She had found 'Gordon' just a week ago, whilst visiting Hagrid at his Hut. The baby Niffer had been abandoned by it's mother and attached itself to her after she offered it one of her sparkly hair clips. Since then she had decided to look after him, keeping him secret from as many people as she could. Nifflers were certainly not allowed at Hogwarts, but someone needed to care for him.
"I found you some food, now come on. You must stay in my room until i come back." Isla did not want to leave him whilst she attended the welcome gala, but she also had a a feeling he would follow her anyway.
Hiding him under her robes, the young veela girl made her way back to her dormitory, sneaking him under her bed and whispering for him to stay. Once she had dressed, she headed out, with a brief look under her four poster. Sure enough, he was there. At least she had thought so.
Isla was quite taken with the decoration of the Great Hall, so taken that she nearly jumped in alarm when a tiny paw tugged on the strap of her shoe. Looking down she gasped, hastily checking no one had seen her pet.
"Gordon!" she whispered, grabbing him and running off into a dark corner, "You silly thing!" With great effort she managed to charm her clutch purse to be bigger on the inside and coaxed the little creature inside with a sparkly hair clip. With a loud sigh, she made her way out from the corner, hoping no one had seen her, and unaware of the tiny paw struggling to get out of her bag.
