Galen Williams
Galen was in the library. Unsurprising, since that's where one could usually find him. He was currently working on an essay for Charms that hadn't even been assigned yet, but after a little bit of pleading to Professor Flitwick, he had been told of the assignment. Of course, he knew it was time for that silly little party, and he also knew that he was required to go. However, he was not required to join in the festivites, merely to just exist in the room for a certain amount of time. So, he stood from his place in the library, fished his wand from his pocket, and changed into something more formal than what he was already wearing. He was always dressed rather smartly, so it wasn't much of an upgrade. But, it was still an upgrade considering his hair was a bit less messy from the usual.

When he arrived at the banquet hall, he still had all of his study materials in his arms, as he planned to sit at one of the tables and continue his studies as the festivities meandered along. But it just so happened that he had walked in directly behind Silas Angelov, this sixth year Slytherin bad boy. Galen didn't particularly care for him, but he could recognize the merit in his rather attractive appearance. And, he had to conclude, that his representation of his certain aesthetic was incredibly flawless. Though he did hear the words the guy uttered to Seraphine Favager, a girl that Galen rather pitied. He could sense the unhappiness in her presence, even though she so carefully wore her mask.

Galen couldn't help but hear as Seraphine called out after Silas. "Just because I had it handled, doesn't mean you can avoid your duties, Angelov! Just what do you think Professor Snape would say to your actions?" Sera had whirled on the guy, and honestly, Galen couldn't deny that the guy deserved it. "Don't think you can flatter your way out of this one by giving me credit for the work I'm capable of. That isn't going to work this time." Galen couldn't keep from laughing aloud. Probably a mistake considering Seraphine immediately whirled onto him. "Oh, you've got to be kidding me, Galen! Studying? On the night of a Gala? I'm incredibly offended."

Galen shrugged, not wanting to give into her slightly aggressive tone. "It shouldn't be any surprise to you Seraphine. You're well aware that these sorts of things aren't among my list of favorites. At least I came."

"At least you dressed up." That was her retort? Well, it seemed she had some issued with what certain people were wearing. How sad that she felt as if she had to micro-manage that much. With a polite murmur of a salutation, Galen made his way to a table to resume his studying.

Caleb James
“Look who cleans up nicely.” Caleb turned at the sound of Silas’ approach.
“Well, y’know, gotta look sharp for the ladies.” He ran a hand down his shirt to straighten it and winked at a passing Ravenclaw girl, who blushed and turned away. Caleb had decided to forgo a tie, they made him uncomfortable and honestly, even getting him into a collared shirt was like pulling teeth. “And speaking of the ladies…” He caught sight of Gal and her roommate Nashmia as they entered the Great Hall.
“Looking good, Gal.” He grinned charmingly at the two girls. Sure, Gal was his bro but he had to admit she had some legs on her. “And Nia, lovely as always.” He kissed her knuckles playfully. Caleb might have been an unabashed flirt but always maintained an undercurrent of carefree teasing.
“Indeed,” Silas agreed with a wry smile, “loath as I am to give compliments the pair of you are captivating.” Silas’ teasing was of the more acerbic variety and left the subject slightly off balance but it was nonetheless recognisable as banter.

Louisa Willows

"You don't look so shabby." Louisa said to herself with a smile on her face as she gaze upon her reflection in the floor length mirror of their room. "Not shabby indeed." she added, swaying her dress side by side. She styled her curly strawberry blonde hair in a messy bun. Now, the floral dress was a surprised gift from her Mother Superior. As per requirements that was sent, students must have at least one proper dress robes, or something that resembles a formal attire. It was her problem for the whole summer, but between working two jobs (both as a shop assistant, Monday to Wednesday in the Muggle world, while Thursday - Saturday in Diagon Alley) to provide for her school books and school uniforms her money is still not enough. She was actually brought up by an orphanage run the catholic church and she highly doubted that the church would pay for the schooling of a young witch no matter how altruistic it sounds. The girl just simply doesn't have any luxury to buy an expensive one and she was actually gonna settle for a simple hand me down dress. The night of her departure, the dress was neatly folded under her bed covers to keep it a secret. No one exactly knows that she's studying at Hogwarts. Most of the kids knew that she's off to some uni in a full ride scholarship. Only the Mother Superior, two other nuns (who despises her truly) and her best friend, Thalia knows what she really is.

Along with the dress was a beautiful wedge shoes . Now, for a normal person, it's just mundane footwear. But for Louisa, it is a weapon of mass destruction. She's an accident waiting to happen. Klutz was probably her middle name. The girl can easily trip in an even floor. It was daunting and Louisa knew her limits but her best friend gave that shoes to her with her hard-earned money and Louisa doesn't have a heart to say no. "Pfft. It's just heels. I can do it. If I can pass Potions, I can walk with this. Right?" Easily, she put it on and stood up in front of the mirror, admiring her attire. "Okay. Now, Louisa. Let's go." she said quietly to boost her morale.
----
"Hello, Louisa." Vasilisa greeted her with her usual vibrant smile, a spark of worry filled her face for a moment as soon as she saw the strawberry blonde girl entering the Great Hall. "Everything okay?"

"Yes. yes, of course." Louisa smiled back, waving her hand dismissively. Her feet were aching! "I'm fine, everything's fine. Oh! You look so beautiful!" the red headed added with a dreamy sigh before immediately adding. "Not that you don't look beautiful every time. Because you are, I mean you're graceful and pretty. You're like a pixie. Well, no not Cornish pixies, of course." Louisa snorted. "Because they're blue, with wide black eyes and creepy antennas. They're so weird but cute in a certain way..."

"Louisa." Vasilisa chuckled quietly, apparently the girl was used to her ranting. "I'm rambling again, aren't I?" Louisa flashed an apologetic smile as she looked down. "Whoa. How on earth can you walk on that thing?" she suddenly asked, quite flabbergasted as she pointed the 5 inch heels that Vasilisa was wearing. "They're like pretty daggers."

Vasilisa chuckled quietly, "They're quite comfortable actually." she replied patiently. "Oh, by the way this is Midas Doherty. A Gryffindor prefect." Vasilisa smiled and pointed at the young man beside her. How come she didn't notice him?! "Midas, this is Louisa Willows. Fellow Hufflepuff."

"Oh. Hello..." Louisa face turned almost the same shade of her hair. "I-i'm just gonna... go." She waved her hand and in she went to stop the further embarrassment.
---
Her jaw almost dropped as soon as she stepped inside. The decorations of the hall can match Halloween or Christmas time. She promised herself that she'll look for Vasilisa later to thank and congratulate her. Even perhaps Midas if she can recover from the shame. Everything was all good as she walked in the room, everyone was wonderful and impeccably well dress that Louisa was smiling from ear to ear because of glee. Every thing was going great until----blagsgajasdasd. She trips on someone else's dress. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Louisa immediately apologized as she tried to gather what little composure that she has.

"I'm okay. I'm alright!" She added, standing up from all fours. She then made a beeline to the nearest table. She nearly made it when suddenly, surprise surprise, she trips again. She heard snickers and giggles but Louisa immediately stood up and leaned on the table. She was actually surprise to see Gareth, and her heart nearly stopped upon seeing Talfryn the prefect.

"My wand fell." She lied horribly, her knees were actually in pain. She cleared her throat and tried to look as presentable as she can. "Hello Gareth." Louisa waved at him, before looking at the 6th year prefect. "Hey Talfryn" The girl continued to blush horribly, "Congratulations, the place looks fantastic. Amazing, really. You did a wonderful job. I mean, not just you, you. You know? All of the prefects did a wonderful job." Knowing that she won't shut up, she took a biscuit and shove it in her mouth. "This is good." Louisa cleared her throat and look away, possibly wishing that she can self combust to hide the shame.

Mateo Abril
Mateo had changed into his suit the instant they had finished setting up, because if he didn't do it then, he'd probably forget until someone pointed it out to him. He surveyed the work that the prefects had done, finding himself feeling quite impressed with what they had put together. Carmen and Seraphine had a vision and they made it a reality. He gave them props for that.

His eyes landed on an approaching Eva. A smile graced Mateo's face with the kiss Eva placed on his cheek, and he wrapped her up in a quick hug. "Helloooo my Extravagant Eva!" Mateo gave a nod in agreement with Eva's words of admiration at the decor. "It's pretty great isn't it? I have to wonder if Seraphine and Carmen think the same about the final product since this was all their idea."

"Some point tonight I hope I can tempt you away from your boring prefect duties to have some real fun and dance with me!" "Well, feel free to drag me away at anytime. I definitely won't protest being freed from my boring prefect duties." Mateo would have kept talking to Eva, but at that particular moment, a fellow Gryffindor by the name Alex decided to ease in and start up his own conversation with Eva. Mateo decided not to dwell too much on it, even if he was a bit irked by not even being acknowledged, nodding his head at Alex in greeting. "Alex. Nice seeing you, man. Where'd you just come from?" Teo looked around for a moment in thought, before addressing both Alex and Eva, "You know, you guys are still pretty early. People might not be down for another minute; we did just finish setting up."

Marianne Pasternak
"Oh my gosh this guy is taking forever! You'd think our map wasn't clear enough...." Honestly, the map wasn't very clear at all. They;d spent quite a while coming up with a series of riddles to lead the Gryffindor fifth year, Keith, to the Kitchens. Marianne and her best friend Mordecai had been planning a prank for the Gala ever since they'd heard about it, and Keith had overheard them and he wasn't so sure about the whole thing...so they had told him that they would be having a secret party somewhere and he was invited if only he solved their riddles. But it was taking him much longer than Mari would have liked. "Do you think he gave up? We probably made it too hard on him." She was seated on one of the sountertops in the kitchen, watching a couple of the house elves cleaning away at the dishes. She would offer to help, but she knew they would'n't let her.

She rubbed at the edge of the plate next to her that was piled with brownies. No, just any brownies...they were charmed to make people say anything that came to their minds. And they came with a little place card, signed Seraphine Favager. Perfect penmanship. Mari was really good at mimicking handwriting. But if this guy didn't hurry up and get here, the brownies weren't going to make it onto that table soon enough.

Arianna Dela Cour
The girl continued laying down, the butterflies on her stomach was pacified a little. Preston's advice was comforting, and definitely has a point. Aria really need to stop being so antsy. "You're right." Aria answered as she pushed herself up into a sitting position. "Screw that. Of course I'm confident!" she added, figuring out that she's all good with her
red dress. Her tone and her feelings were contradicting but she didn't let it in her head. Aria finally stood up and face the mirror again, she finger comb her hair while adding a little bit of this and that. After five minutes, she faced Preston, all ready to go. "I'm sorry, i'm such a whiner." Aria apologized with a pout. "This is a party. No one should worry in a party!" sighing deeply she added, "No wallowing tonight!" she grab Preston's hand and pulled her up. "Now, let's go." Aria finally flashed one of her dimpled smile along with a wink. "Let's get hammered!" With that final remark, Aria pulled Preston out of their room.

Jessamine Rose

Upon hearing the affirmation that she was free to leave, Jessa nodded her head and turned on her heals in any direction other than the gala itself.

"Enjoy," she muttered to Alaia as she walked away.

No matter how she tried to spin it, there was nothing remotely enticing about the gala other than people watching. And seeing as staring was considered extremely rude, she figured she should avoid the action entirely. Truly, she would find much more entertainment lost amongst the endless shelves of books in the library, so perhaps that was where she should hide away.

"Hiding" might have been a poor word choice. More like, she was seeking enjoyment elsewhere and it just so happened not to be in the center of a gala. filled with people who would ultimately behave in ways that she didn't understand, which would ultimately leave her feeling more alone despite the hordes of her peers.

Her heels clacked against the hard surface of the floor, the entryway to the library growing nearer. Halting abruptly, she noticed that there was already another inhabiting the room, one she was sure to be a Slytherin.

Francesca Simmons, she noted. She could not imagine why a student would be avoiding the gala, unless her intentions very much mirrored her own. In that case, Jessa could comprehend.

She narrowed her eyes with a suspicious gaze.

"The gala is in the Great Hall," she stated as a matter of fact.

Taye Montgomery
"Hmm. So maybe the princess could be scaling a tower when suddenly, out of nowhere, comes a Dragon! And....and maybe he kidnaps her and takes her to his lair. But eventually she warms his heart and they have conversations and things like that and she becomes a dragon tamer....but is also a princess. Do you think that's dumb? Having a dragon talk? I mean, we don't really know if dragons can talk or not, right? Because maybe we don't really listen to them. or maybe we just don't know how to speak their language because it's so old. So I think that dragons can talk. At least this one can. And he likes talking to the princess. Oh! Maybe the dragon is really a prince and that is why he can talk. And he just needs the princess to love him...no...that's too similar to the princess and the frog..." Taye sighed a long sigh and started picking at a stray thread from his sweater in thought. He was currently talking to his best friend, Celeste, about the idea for the first book in his series. The main character was a princess named Celes-- Cecilia. Her name was Cecilia. And she had beautiful hair like Celeste and beautiful eyes like Celeste and she was very sweet like Celeste and just very very perfect like Celeste. And she was a dragon tamer just like Celeste wanted to be.

"So he doesn't have to be a prince. That's really overrated anyway, don't you think? A prince and a princess? Maybe he's a knight who was banished from the kingdom. He could be named....Taylor. And the kingdom, it turned out, was a very evil kingdom. And the king's name was Midas....I mean. M......M........... What's a good name that starts with M?" He thought about it for a couple seconds, then looked out the window. "Wow it really is getting dark....don't you think there was something we were supposed to do.....oh my gosh! The gala! Oh, Celeste, I am so sorry it totally slipped my mind!" He looked to his best friend for forgiveness, his green eyes wide and full of remorse. He truly, honestly felt bad about forgetting and getting a little carried away with his musings. He just found it so hard to focus...

Emerson Albrecht
A genuine laugh escaped Emerson. "Your sister's a smart girl." She knew she had always liked Nashmia.

She would be lying if she said that she had not considered hiding food away in the secret compartments of her dress. It could prove to be messy, but if the food ended up being as delicious as the rumors suggested, she may very well consider pilfering a few small items. It seemed extremely simple of her, but she accredited it to her muggle-born roots, appreciating the little things when the mundane was all that she had been accustomed to growing up.

"You're making jokes, but don't be surprised if you have a craving for something later and I end up providing from these very pockets," she jested. Her face was feeling hot again when he mentioned that he wished to dance with her, her bravado slowly crumbling away as he disarmed her once more. His charming grin only made her more aware of how anxious he made her.

"Awfully brave to want to dance with the likes me," she warned with a playful smirk. "Explains why you're a Gryffindor."

Kyle Eun
Kyle in a suit really wasn't anything special. Almost anytime that he was not required to wear the school robes he was in a suit, so, he didn't take much time on his outfit. Now, Calhoun in a suit was like seeing a rare species of magical beast in person. Ronan could not stand muggle clothing, just getting him into a suit was like battling with a petulant child. But, tonight, Kyle wasn't giving Ronan a choice on whether he wanted to wear the suit. Kyle and Sera were both on the same page that their friend would wear a suit to the gala. Kyle even took precautionary measures to ensure that things went as planned; charming and hexing robes were a more than simple task.

With one last straightening of his tux, he was heading towards the door. At the last moment, he turned around giving his best friend a look. "You better come down wearing that outfit, Ronana, I am not afraid to make a scene." Without a look back, Kyle exited his dorm room and made his way to the Great Hall.

Upon entering, Kyle headed over to his other best friend, Seraphine, chuckling lightly at her voicing her disapproval to his roommate and a guy he recognized from the Ravenclaw house. "You show them, Sera. Instill fear in their naughty hearts!" He smiled warmly grabbing one of her hands. "You look gorgeous." As always, he meant it. Seraphine always looked gorgeous to him and he made it a point to tell her daily. "I like this number you've got on tonight. Showing the boys what they can look at but not have?" He was being more silly with the second compliment, knowing very well just how nice her legs looked in her pink dress. "Do remember to enjoy yourself, Sera," Kyle took on a more serious tone as he looked her in the eye. "You worked way too hard on this, and look way too stunning to let everyone else have all the fun and not take some time to experience this brilliance for yourself." He rubbed his thumb over her hand for a moment before continuing on with a charming grin, "I do have one complaint, though... This music is a tad too... Calm for the evening, one might say," He purposely neglected the other things that one might say it was, such as "Dull." "Would you consider adding some variety to your music selection beyond classical music?"

Preston's eyes widened before she offered a supportive smile and a small thumbs up. Honestly, she was surprised her panicked advice even proved helpful enough. But Aria seemed happy, and Preston was thankful she hadn't upset her in anyway. Preston was even more surprised when Aria grabbed her hand and pulled her up and out the door. A faint blush touched Preston's cheeks. She wasn't used to getting this much attention, really. "H-hammered? Like...drunk? Oh. Okay....sure!" Preston wasn't so sure how she felt about that, but she supposed she would go along with it. really, she would rather not be going to this thing at all, but she wanted to be supportive of Theresa. "Do you think everyone is really going to show up? Do you think there will be any cute...uh...girls?" She was a bit nervous to ask Aria that, since Aria was one of the girls she had always found rather cute...and she didn't really know if Aria was into girls or not. So this was her way of sort of...fishing for that information?

Jesse McDowell
Jesse would have been stretched out on his bed with his arms behind his bed taking a nap had it not been occupied by Axelle who was explaining a game she and her friend Ella had made up. Having beautiful girls in his dorm wasn't a regular occurrence unfortunately. Hogwarts had their ways of making sure it didn't happen, but either way, to Jesse, Axelle was simply one of the boys; a teammate on the quidditch team.
"Strip quidditch? Your mate sounds like a right fun lass to come up with that..." He chuckled. At that moment the door to the dormitory opened again and another girl walked in, completely unfazed. The burly male raised an eyebrow as she flopped onto his roommate, Nikolai's bed. How the hell did these girls get away with it? He was pretty certain the girls' dormitories had a repelling charm on them when it came to the lads being let in!

"Alright there? I think you're lost lass, The Three Broomsticks is that way." He pointed out the window in the direction of Hogsmeade Village, "I'm beginning to think youse lot think of this place as a pub to chill out in." He grunted slightly, feigning annoyance, but really he wasn't bothered. The young man let the girls flirt to their hearts content while he flipped through the month's issue of 'Which Broomstick?' comparing brooms. He half listened to the conversation, but listening was not really his strong suit.

Only when Axelle asked if he was ready to go did he look up, completely puzzled. "Ready to go where?" he asked, blankly, only now noticing the fancy tuxedo she wore. The gala had clearly slipped his mind.

He enjoyed how easy it was to be around her, and joke around with her, but he couldn't ignore the floating feeling in his stomach, or the rapid increase and decrease of his heart rate. This girl did wild things to him, but he tried to keep that under wraps and play it cool.

"Hey, you agreed to come to a party where there would be dancing with me. So I don't know which one of us trumps the other in bravery here. Because I have a secret for you, I am probably the worst kind of dancer. It's one of my many attractive qualities." By then they had reached the Great Hall, and he opened the door for her, ever the gentleman.

Seraphine Favager
Sera hardly had time to register the fact tht Kyle was speaking to her before he took her hand. She immediately tensed, but after recognizing that it was him, she relaxed a little bit. As much of a prankster as Kyle was, she knew he would never touch her hands if his own weren't sanitized. Honestly, sanitizer was the most marvelous muggle invention that had ever existed and will ever exist. "Gorgeous? You flatter me, Eun! You don't looks so bad yourself. Than again, that's nothing new." Her smile actually managed to reach her eyes, a rare occurance for one Seraphine Favager. But Ronan and Kyle always managed to make her feel better. "You're absolutely right! They can look, but never touch. Could you imagine their greasy hands? Absolutely not. Besides, I'm far better than they could ever hope to be." She held her chin high, her confidence one hundred percent genuine, and hardly misplaced. "I always have fun, Kyle. Just because I'm serious doesn't mean I don't have fun." She pursed her lips, but it wasn't long before she found herself laughing a tad uncharacteristically. Especially since she was in public. But she was quick to regain her composure.

"Calm? I suppose it is a little ridiculous. And I definitely prefer more...upbeat music at the very least. But other can't know that. Tell you what, I'll give you the job of putting on good music, yeah? Just don't put on anything too distasteful." It was a warning, but she also knew that it was highly likely something controversial would come on, but at this point, she didn't really mind. it was out of her hands now.

Leandra Goldstein
Jupiter's response to Lea's benevolent question caused the blonde's expression to become momentarily crestfallen. She understood it must have been frustrating for people to know that she knew their thoughts, but the snappiness had caught her off guard a bit.

Jupiter's remorse was instant, however and Lea was quickly put back at ease by her reassurance. The blonde smiled kindly as she spoke to Jupiter. "There's no need to expect the worst Juju! I promise you'll have so much fun. It's not like you're being forced to talk to anyone you don't know." She paused for a moment, lost in thought. "You know back at Ilvermorny, I was a little shy. I tried to avoid people because I tended to freak them out a little, but whenever I had to go to parties, I would focus on my friends and pretend everyone else didn't exist."

Lea beamed when Juju gave her permission to pick an outfit and began thinking of all the colours that might suit the girl. "Purple!" she finally said out loud, waving her wand and conjuring a beautiful full length deep purple gown. "Try!"

Amelia Ravenhurst
Amelia's smile brightened even more when Ady was mentioned. It was not just Daghda that acted as though Adelaide was younger than her even Amelia had that tendency, but she adored the girl nonetheless.

"You see if I don't scour the Great Hall in search of Gareth and drag you over to him," she winked and linked arms with her best friend as they made their way down to the hall. It did, in fact, look stunning all decked out in purple. She lamented the fact that her dress probably clashed with the decor, and the fact that currently, the music was utterly dull. Nobody wanted to go to a party where they had to figure out how to dance to Beethoven's ninth for goodness sake.
"Dead," she said sombrely, "Completely dead. Let's liven it up some Didi." It was at that moment that she spotted the young and dashing Hufflepuff quidditch captain in all his glory hanging around with two other Hufflepuffs she knew by name (because she knew nearly everyone by name). With a grin, she led Daghda over to the trio.

"Hello there ducks," she said, her Yorkshire accent more prominent than usual. Mind if we interrupt a moment?" Her gaze fell on Gareth then, "Gareth, Daghda, Daghda, Gareth." With that, she sped off in a random direction, passing the table where a Ravenclaw boy she had always fancied sat studying. Studying! At a party. She was both vastly disappointed and slightly turned on by it. She simply shot the boy a playful wink as she passed him, Right now she was intent on getting some real music playing.

Tempest into the room like a whirlwind, but really it didn't seem like she could enter a room any other way. She seemed to have that sort of presence. She didn't notice her roommates either, until she heard Leandra utter the word 'try'. Immediatly her gaze shifted over to the two girls. "Woah! That's a grogeous dress. Ohmigod! And just like that, she seemed to be caught up in her own thoughts again, taking out her wand and changing her dress several times, being clearly not pleased each time. It almost seemed as if she was't in a good mood-- if that were even possible. Finally, she let out a frustrated screech and tossed her wand over her shoulder, letting it fall to the ground before dicing into her closet.

"Keep your composure Miranda. Don't do anything I wouldn't do. Make sure you have perfect posture and that you dress perfectly at all times. I don't want to hear anything else from Professor Flitwick about you being a problem. Bloody stupid howler. Mum thinks she can just control me like a puppet!" The more Tempest ranted, the more it was clear that she came from both a Scottish and an Italian family, because somehow both accents made themselves painfully obvious, almost to the point where it was hard to understand her. But suddenly she stopped and pulled a dress from the closet. It was way back there, so she couldn't have worn it very much. But it's what she wanted today.

Picking her wand up off the floor, she waved it quickly, and suddenly her dress of choice was on her, and her hair was up in a sleek ponytail. She looked at her reflection, pleased with herself despite being uncomfortable, because tonight, she was doing something her mother would just die if she knew she was doing it. She was dressing revealing. Well. Her mother had said to dress nicer...and this was nicer than her typical beanies and slouchy shirts tucked into high-waisted skater skirts. A wry smile spread across her featured before she whirled around to the other girls in her room. "Thoughts? I know it's a little revealing, but I thought I would try something new?"

Mette Strand
'lovely cat,'

The brunette who had approached her appeared familiar , however it took Mette a moment to associate a name to her face. Jolie Hayle , she was fairly certain. A Vampire. The blonde had heard more than one rumour about the girl , they were more malicious than positive. Mette had never wished to delve into that gossip , regardless , she remained wary to a certain extent.

'must be well educated to get an invite,'

Mette smirked , amused. She did have difficulty in comprehending sarcasm , however , this was at least clear to her. 'His O . W . L examination grades were astounding, ' she added , her attention returning to the cat lingering around them, 'though this genius does not belong to me.' The Witch had never owned a pet. Her mother was allergic to most and her father found them to be an inconvenience.

Daghda Mahoney
Daghda had to agree with Mia, this party was certainly dead. And that classical music? Were Carmen and Seraphine positively daft? Though, she assumed, Seraphine had more to do with it than Carmen did. Everyone was well aware that Carmen wasn't as anal about things like this. And, if it was her doing, it was merely to keep up appearances just for the moment.

Before she knew it was happening or could get a word in edgewise, Amelia had pushed Daghda right up to Gareth. However, she wasn't flustered, she never really could be. So, as soon as they were introduced, Daghda took his hand to shake it. "Hello, dear. Of course, it wasn't really necessary for her to tell me your name. It'd be impossible not to know the name of a well-deserved Quidditch captain. But it's true, as she said, the name's Daghda, and I assure you, it's a right pleasure to meet me." She then went ahead and laughed at herself, she wasn't embarrassed to do so, and it was always a good test to see if someone else had a sense of humor, otherwise, it would be utterly ridiculous for her to waste her time speaking to them. That being said, she didn't want to come off as rude and thought the might introduce herself to the other two. "I don't believe I've me you two before or heard of you really. But it's nice to meet you! May I ask your names?" She first shook the hand of the female, and then of the male, a smile still planted on her face.

Galen Williams
Galen had made strides in his paper since that morning, finding himself at a pleasant point of 'almost done'. He was rather excited to have it off his chest, and also, a touch dissappointed that he would no longer have an excuse to keep himself from the party. None of his other professors had been so lenient to let him have an advance on his assignments, not even Professor McGonagall who he'd been hoping would give him the assignments for the entire term. But, it seemed, he hadn't reached that point of trustworthiness yet. Perhaps next term he would find himself more successful.

Presently, he was letting his eyes rest from staring at his quill and ink in the dimly lit room. He had conjured up a candle and had lit it, but it was still rather dark. Instead, he found himself people watching, intrigued by the different fashions and the ways they carried themselves. It was then that his eyes rested on Amelia Ravenhurst. Not a single person was unaware of her existence and--

Was that a wink? Well, Galen couldn't help but give a charming grin in response before making a mental not to perhaps keep an eye out for her later when he was finished with his paper. "Easy now Galen, you know it's trouble to get involved with women. Even if it is Miss Ravenhurst." Still, no amount of reprimanding himself would convince him not to.

Erika Estes
Erika grinned patting Dax's shoulder. "Awe, look at you doing some math. I never thought I would see the day.." Now that Erika knew that she and Dax were on the same page of causing some mischief at the gala, she actually had something to look forward to. "Just imagine if a bunch of people chose to spike the punch, that'd be a total shit show!"

Erika rolled her eyes at Dax's insult for her comment about his staring at Mette. He could try and act as if she was exaggerating, but she doubted it was possible to exaggerate enough about his puppy crush that he refused to act on. "No duh, of course I'm ten," She retorted rolling her eyes. "It's probably the only way I could be friends with you. I've embraced it at this point." Erika grabbed Dax by his arms and pulled him to his feet; not without nearly falling over herself while doing so, of course. He was practically a giant in comparison to her, and fucking heavy like one too.

"Mette's a prefect? Wow, I can't believe I missed that. Where would I be without you, Daxie?" Erika was laying the sarcasm on thick, although, she wasn't being even the slightest bit serious. She just loved sassing Dax. "So, is that the only reasons you have for not dating her? You're not sneaky enough to get away with misbehaving while dating her, and she seems too spicy for you? I know, that Dilara girl is pretty attractive, but your reasons are sounding more like..." She put her hand to the side of her mouth whispering dramatically, "You're a wimp."
Erika was cut off momentarily from continuing as Francesca seemed to lose all patience with their conversation, snapping on her and Dax. She stared wide-eyed as the girl went in before hastily exiting the dorm. "Holy shit! Dude... Was that really Fran?" She laughed giddily smacking Dax in the arm. "She called us juvenile and everything. I'm actually so goddamn impressed right now..." She paused for a moment to collect herself. "She does bring up a good point, we need to keep an eye on the prefects who actually do their job and look out for stuff they may have used to prevent pranks and whatnot."

Not wanting to stay in the dorm much longer, Erika decided to follow Fran's suit, dragging Dax out of the dorm room. "Also, to respond to you previous comment, I'm trying to push you out there because you have a girl friend, but not a girlfriend, and we only have 2 years left to make memories, dude. Tis time to put one's self out there."

Erika chuckled following up with a response to the second half of his statement. "And, please, we're so attached at this point that I worry your future girlfriend won't be able to escape from us."

Maddox Davis
"Hey, I do math often! Just not really for class. And it's a hell of a lot more math than you do!" Playing the part of a petulant child, he promptly stuck his tongue out at Erika, then giggled almost maniacally at her next voiced thought. "Oh my god that would be so fucking rad though! And I bet that would get little miss ice queen to relax a little...or a lot. She wouldn't be so pretty anymore would she? Or! Could you imagine Calhoun getting drunk?" Dax was practically snorting as he laughed at that thought. Ronan Calhoun had a perpetual stick up his ass, so it would be something to see him getting a little goofy.

"Well you know what, Estes? You can take your little ten your old self out of my life if you're going to treat me that way because frankly, I don't wanna be your friend no more." At the end of the sentence, Dax had purposefully switched into the tone of a young boy, once again, playing the part of a petulant child. He even laid it on thick when Erika tried lifting him from the bed, making his entire body go limp so as not to give her any help at all, and he laughed the whole time at her strong attempt. But, she did eventually get him to a standing position successfully. He, at least sometimes, knew how to accept defeat. But her next words caught him off guard. Well, really he hadn't been listening enough to what she was saying, but he caught onto two things: she had called Mette spicy and she had called him a wimp. His initial reaction was to laugh loudly, completely amused by her referring to Mette with the adjective. "Spicy! Spicy? Oh my god Riki, did you just lost all of your brain cells at once? What a stupid thing to call her!" By then, he had sompletely forgotten that she had called him a wimp, because it was in that moment that Francesca reacted to their antics.

He stared at the usually quiet girl with wide eyes as she reprimanded them, and just as she was walking out the door, he shot her a quick goodbye with just a touch of gofy asshole. "Bye Francine! See you next time!" As soon as the girl was gone, he made direct eye contact with Erika and burst into laughter. "Oh my god I feel as if I've been yelled at my my mommy!" His words combined with hers sent him into another fit of laughter until he finally sobered up.

"Let's go get that stash. I left it behind a loose brick in my dorm. There's like a whole cubby in there....and as for the girlfriend thing...I'll think about it." He then pushed her in front of him, forcing her to exit the room so they could make their way to his.

Galilahi Yang
'you may have been caught up with responsibilities,' Gal made a note regarding Nashmia's earlier statement , walking beside her and toward the Banquet hall. 'My pillow has no other purpose but to serve me indefinitely,' the girl grinned , already regaining her typically vibrant demeanour. She certainly did not appear as though she had only awoken fifteen minutes ago.

Entering the hall , she did a brief glance over the room. It was rather sparse , however she figured there were more people to arrive. It was rare that Gal personally would reject a party invitation. Although the Gala had made a dull first impression , she did believe it would liven up with the aid of the right company.

Gal smiled as she noticed Caleb , freely approaching the boy who was accompanied by Silas Angelov , a Slytherin in her year.

'Looking good , Gal,'

She grinned brightly , proceeding to spin playfully as if to showcase her outfit , 'why thank you , sugar,' Gal laughed softly , exaggerating her southern accent and adding an ironic 'sugar' just for her own amusement. 'And I know , stunning right?' she agreed in reference to Nashmia. Gal was being sincere. Nashmia was absolutely gorgeous. Gal was aware that she appeared much less formal.

'Loath as you are , huh?' the girl then turned her attention to Silas , raising a brow and attempting to appear rather unimpressed , 'well...i'm glad you could put aside your ego to acknowledge this masterpiece,' Gal tried to maintain a false serious outward demeanour , however she could not suppress a smirk. The girl would never honestly refer to herself as a masterpiece , the thought of being so conceited made her nauseous.

Nashmia Hadid
Nashmia was always in awe of how fast Gal bounced back from her naps. It took her forever to wake up, and it usually took drinking a little bit of Egyptian Coffee in the morning to boost her. It's why she didn't particularly like naps...unless it was raining and then they were totally called for.

As they entered the Great Hall, Nashmia couldn't help but smile as they were approached by Gal's friend Caleb and his friend Silas. Gal had never really spoken to Silas. Ever. But she had to admit he was nice to look at. Still, he was more enraptured by Caleb. She smiled even wider at his compliment and watched as he brushed a kiss across her knuckles. "Caleb, you should know by now not to be so formal!" She then leaned upwards just enough to plant a soft kiss on each of his cheeks in greeting. "You don't look so bad, yourself, handsome. Who knew you could clean up so nice?" She winked before shooing away Gal's continuation of the compliment. "Don't flatter me too much, I just might let it go to my head." She laughed then before turning her attention to what Silas was saying. Honestly, she could hardly believe he had said what he did, and stared at him for a couple moments before shooting a glance to Caleb as if to say 'awkward much?' But she laughed it off easily enough. "Well, I guess I will let it go to my head since you don't usually give compliments, dear sir. And I thank you." She paired her words with a playfully sarcastic deep curtsy, then laughed before turning her attention back to Caleb. "Well, I would ask if you wanted to dance, but this music doesn't really seem to fit the occasion."

Eva Malone
Eva was more than pleased to know that Mateo would drop his duties to dance with her at some point in the night. She had no doubt that he was just saying it to humour her. He was her very best friend, one she could always count on and the only person she had told about her latest breakup. Others though she had ended it. Only he was in the know. Before she could speak more with him, she could feel the warm breath of another person near her ear and she tensed for a moment, not wanting any advances unless she initiated them.

Fortunately, the voice was familiar when it spoke and she immediately relaxed. "Goodness, and here I thought everything here was boring and plain," Alex said as he placed a hand on her waist. Had it been anybody else she would have shot them a warning look and backed away, but she was used to the young Gryffindor's flirting and knew that he was not serious. With a smile she turned to face him, shoving him away from her playfully, or as playfully as she could given how she was really feeling right now. "Is that the best line you've got Blaise?" she teased, before turning her attention back to Mateo who had made reminded Alex of his presence.

"You know, you guys are pretty early. People might not be down for another minute, we did just finish setting up." he said, to which Eva replied with a smile,

"The earlier the better. I have some punch to spike and food to devour...gracefully of course," she jested.
