  Family: Barnabe was born to a Ebaebian mother and American father. He was an only child. His father's name is Patrick and he's a carpenter for a small local company. His mother's name is Maria and she is a teller at the bank in town. His grandparents on his mother's side live in Litchworth in Ebaebux and come to visit during the Holidays. Barnabe's mother is rather accepting of his gender identity but his father is very homophobic and transphobic and doesn't allow Barnabe to even mention anything LGBT related in the house and still refers to Barnabe by his deadname and with female pronouns. Needless to say Barnabe and his father don't get along. His parents relationship is also pretty strained and they often fight.
  
  Background: Barnabe has always lived in Williston with his mother and father. Being an only child one might think Barnabe would've been a spoiled child but it was almost the opposite, his father puts a lot of pressure on him to be exceptional. After coming out around age 12 his relationship with his father started to falter and he started to not pay any attention to him and occasionally blaming the fights him and his mother would have on Barnabe. He occasionally gets picked on at school because of his identity but tries not to let it bother him. He has a huge interest in magic since his parents, mainly his mother, seems to not care very much even though it is part of her background. And seeing his relatives using magic makes him slightly jealous.

Personality:
Ken is strange. Even for a magic user, Ken is strange. They love anything paranormal, especially aliens and monsters, and spend most of their free time researching said creatures. It's their love of the supernatural that leads to them wanting to learn more and more about magic. There's only so much books and their family can teach them. They're greatly motivated by knowledge. They are a firm believer that knowledge is power, and they do crave that kind of power. Because of this, they've gained a reputation as a bookworm and a nerd. They don't really mind being teased for their desire to learn as they know the people that tease them will regret it when they are fully trained and powerful. However, because of Ken's intelligence, they have a huge fear of failure and being wrong. A single F on a test can be enough to break them down into tears and bouts of self-loathing, that only their mother can snap them out of.

They also tend to enjoy a wide variety of music, mostly being electric pop, techno music, and alternative rock/pop/hip-hop. They spend some of their free time creating remixes from these songs, finding the music relaxing, and helpful in increasing their focus. They tend to use these remixes as background music for their podcast about the supernatural and witchcraft.

Background:
Ken was born to a single mother. Their mother was from a magic family and managed to fall pregnant by a man who had no abilities. James was fully supportive and ready to be a father before Alia told him of her magical abilities. Afterwords Alia and her child were abandoned, and the only contact from James was in the form of court demand child support. Some people are just bigoted that way...

This didn't greatly impact Ken's life, as their mother was nothing if not supportive. They were raised with love and support from the one parent they had and lived a happy childhood. The only thing that wasn't happy was the bullying received from other children and the discrimination from teachers. Because of them being non-binary, they were not treated fairly by teachers and other adults in their life, thus leading to many hours of independent study, and fanning the fires of knowledge in their mind.

About two years ago, they decided to share their knowledge of the paranormal by creating a podcast, that they get money from based on how many people are listening and subscriptions. It is their baby and they love doing this.
