Long ago there was four sisters, these four sisters were the daughters of the king and were granted powers from the gods, and each witch was granted wings.
To see which of the sisters was the most fit to rule the kingdom, the king proposed a challenge to see who would prevail. The sister who could out best the others would be granted their father's powers, mastery of all magic. The oldest was the one everyone expected to prevail, she was calm, beautiful, smart and was skilled in her art (water). The second oldest was the next most likely, she was kind, gentle,and powerful(earth). Then the second youngest was not a favorite but still had many fans. She was understanding, swift, and believed in peace(air). However the youngest was one no one expected to have a chance. She was young, impulsive and hotheaded(fire).
The youngest was aware of her chances, also knowing that her powers were far less than her siblings. Looking for a chance at victory the young witch stumbled upon a book among the collection in her father's study. Reading it she found a way to contain her sisters' essence in magical orbs. The young girl preformed the ritual upon her sisters, unaware of the consequences.
The youngest witch had achieved victory and the rule over her kingdom. However the spell she had used was irreversible and she had unknowingly killed her sisters and trapped their essence in the orbs forever. Her father excepted the bittersweet victory for his now only daughter as he gave her the power over all magics, in the end taking his own life, him completely knowing the consequences from the beginning.
The youngest witch lead the kingdom the best she could before the grief of killing her only family was too much to bear and she entrusted the whole kingdom to a trusted family and wiped the memory of any magic from the whole city and left. In attempt for redemption the witch used a spell her father had used to create her and her sisters. Using the essence of her sisters she gave lives to abiotic objects or unborn children, creating a new race of witches whose powers were a small fraction to the originals.
The witch then left the newborn witches in the care of human or mystical parents and orphanages hoping that they will live happy lives, and erased herself from any history book
RACES-
Witches:
Each witch has the ability to control a certain type of magic that they were created with. Witches are immortal and are not harmed by normal metals however witch hunters have found a metal that can stop a witch's magic and pierce their skin. Crafted by the young witch and are fragments of the original witch's essence. Infancy of witches is fast and by the time they reach 10 their aging slows down. When the witch reaches the looks of 18 they stop aging, it takes 100 years for a witch to reach the looks of 18(or adulthood).
Witch Hunters:
Normal humans who are trained to use armor and weapons made by Sasinite (the metal that harms witches).
ARMOR, WEAPONS AND MAGIC-
Armor and Weapons:
Armor and Weapons made from Sasinite are immune to magic however the lower the rank the less Sasinite armor they are given. Generals have a full set of armor and the leader has the strongest set of armor and weapons there is.
Magic:
The magic the witch can use is determined by the witch's base materials and how it mixes with the portion of of the essences they received.
